Trials Of Fire I.

Leaning against the metal railing of the balcony, Muu Yanagi could see the entirety of the village Hidden amongst the Clouds and it was magnificent. He was atop a very tall building used for training, although this one was rarely occupied due to the distance it was from the main village. It was on the outskirts a bit, the building attached to and with a mountain side to give it more altitude and a safe position away from the village proper so any dangerous training wouldn't damage the actual village. The blue tiles mixed with the golden designs along the building marked it as a staple of Kumogakure architecture, beautiful, while what occurred inside was sweaty, grueling, and most times dangerous, as training usually was.
Wind swept across the empty space directly before Muu, pulling everything from his clothing to his hair to the right, and creating a howl in the distance as the wind played among the mountains. Taking a deep breathe he decided it was about to to get back to it. Standing up straight, to his full 5 feet 4 inches, he popped his back stretching, and began walking to the sliding glass doors behind him, leaving the mountain scenery for the work on his mind. Once inside he removed his purple coat, folding it over once and laying it on an empty bench and then turn to examine his training grounds.
he'd selected a very large room, massive really, with a forest that looked as if it were planted in the middle of the room with an elevated perimeter around it for onlookers to watch. there was also a large elevated area full of tables and boxes of which tools and other things used for various training was kept. Off tot he wall was also a counter with a screen on the wall, were specialty items of living things might be requested for the staff to acquire for them. Today he would start with a little warming up of his physical body before he began working on the jutsu he had in mind for the day.
Strolling over the to the pull up bars on the side, the short boy looked up at the metal bar, as if he were staring up the side of a mountain. Although his lazy, somewhat bored expression didn't convey fear, regret, or anything but indifference really, he honestly was not excited about this. But the voice in his mind urged him it was the thing to do right now. So he bent his knees and with a small surge he jumped up, griping the bar tight, and begin to hoist himself up once, twice, three times. Again and again he pulled his head over the bar, only to lower himself down again.
The repetitions grew harder to preform as his arms grew progressively weaker . Or maybe his body was getting heavier... he wasn't sure anymore, he only knew he hated pull ups and he despised himself for doing this as beads of sweat trickled down his forehead. He lost count in the fifties, and he decided that was plenty of physical body exercise for the time being, allowing his body to fall to the ground, releasing his grip of the bar. He landed on his back and for the moment he just laid there, breathing hard and gingerly moving his fingers to get the feeling back. Finally he released a large breath and rolled back to kick up onto his feet, using his own back as a sort of spring board.
He walked slowly over to the counter to get a bottle of water and stretch his tight body from his physical work. Next he was to set his mind to his next task, Training his new, powerful Medical technique, The Mystical Palm Technique! For this he had pre planned a training set up on one of the tables in the observation deck/training area of his large room. He walked over there with his water, and grabbed one of the many scrolls he had arranged on the table, setting it in front of him and placing his water to the side. He opened the medical scroll, as it rolled open across the table, revealing the tattoo like markings of the sealing jutsu used by medical shinobi's scrolls to contain small living creatures such as fish or small rodents. This one exploded in a cloud of smoke and produced a blue fish which flopped on the scroll as it slowly died from lack of water.
Muu could waste no time, channeling chakra to his hands and placing them over the fish, slowly pushing his hands closer till he was touching the this ever so slightly. He had to be careful because the closer his chakra covered hands got the more his chakra mingled with the fishes own life flow. He wasn't quiet skilled enough to instantly manage his own chakra flow let alone instantly manage his and account for another and adapt so quickly. The usually lazy expression was now strained,as he concentrated on the flow of chakra moving around his hands and through the fish as he tried to keep it alive. Without his continuance chakra flow healing the little creature it would already be dead, and the longer he could keep it alive, the longer he could maintain the gentle, even, and continuous flow of chakra the better he'd become at it. His arms were growing tired as 10 minutes passed. To compensate for his straining, he impulsively increased the amount and rate of his chakra but that was exactly not what he needed to do.
The glow of his dark green hands grew brighter, more intense like emerald fire for a moment, as the look on his face became surprised and concerned at the same time and the fish convulsed and flopped for the final time, laying motionless. Beads of sweat dropped onto the dead body of the fish before Muu wiped them off with the back of his hand. He was disappointed with his ability with the Mystical Palm Technique so far. So reseting a stren or determined expression on his usually lazy face, he pushed the dead fish and scroll up and out of his way, reach for another from his stack of 30 or so scrolls, opening it to produce an almost identical blue fish which began flopping instantly in a puff of white smoke as the scroll was opened. Immoderately his hands lite up with the dark green chakra and found their way over and eventually onto the fish as Muu fought to keep it alive.
Hours passed as this process continued. If a fished died on him for whatever reason, he'd rinse and repeat, moving onto the next scroll and he'd attempt to keep the next one alive longer. It became very difficult seeing as the more he went on the less chakra he had, and the less stamina. his body grew tired, he was weary even but he was determined to get this down to a point he was satisfied with. As he let the last fish flop motionless, letting the green aura around his hands fade he turned and laid back on the bench encircling the table. He was covered in sweat, his muscles were sore and weak and he was hungry enough to eat a mountain of barbeque, but most of all he was satisfied for now with his progress. At the end, with his last fish he had kept it alive for a hour and 32 minutes with his Mystical Palm. It was his new record and he was proud of it. He sat up slowly, breathing a little harder and casting a sideways glance at the pile that was now dead fish of a variety of colors. He slapped his knees and stood up, moving to recover his coat and go get some food as a reward for his hard training. As he walked out of the room, into the brisk, windy night Muu took a deep breath, exhaling audibly. He put his coat on and began down the long stair case back to the heart of the village where he was eagerly debating what to get for food. More hard work would come soon enough to better control his chakra and his healing abilities would benefit because of it. But that would come later, but it sure wasn't to far off.
