A Funeral (Fang Country) Empty A Funeral (Fang Country)

Mon May 26, 2014 12:39 pm
It hadn't taken Denkiteki long to arrive in the fang country, it was a stop that he had made once or twice on his travels from Kirigakure. Den appeared on a lone beach far away from any towns in the country/island. 3 bodies, wrapped up in clothe were strewn on the beach next to Den. Minorin, as well as the two Kirin in Toma had recovered from the ruins of Kiri. Den also had three small boats that he had bought from a small fishing town, they were little canoes that could fit the 3 bodies in them. Den lifted up the Hyuuga boy’s body first. He had sparred the kid once, it had been an interesting fight where Den had tested his snake abilities he had possessed at the time. He had seemed a nice enough guy, though Den hadn’t talked to him much. Den had removed the boy’s vital organs before sealing him up and placing his body in the blanket. The boy had a rare wind affinity heart, and Den figured if he ever needed to do a heart transplant on someone who had a wind affinity it would be best to use his. Den wasn’t an expert on heart surgeries worked when it came to the fact that hearts seemed to have some effect on affinity, but figured it was better to be safe than sorry. Even though Den didn’t enjoy cutting open a kiri nin again, he felt it was a wise precaution as he might have to do heart surgery on someone with wind affinity at some point.

He put the body in the boat and started walking it out into the water. Den wore a simple outfit, just a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. His kiri headband rested over his collarbone like it used to when he was a jounin in the village. The water felt cold against is legs as he walked further into the ocean with the small boat. Walking till the water got to about his waist, Den gave the boat one last shove, and pushed the boat out towards the ocean, towards where the island of Kiri once stood.

The boy whose Sharingan Den had taken was next. Den had never met this boy, only had seen him when Toma had brought in his corpse after searching through the ruins of Kiri. Den slowly pushed the boat into the water, moving slowly as he did not feel this was a thing that should be rushed.

You say you respect these children, yet you desecrate their bodies in order to enhance your own? Even that other boy, you stole his eyes and gave them to that boy Toma didn’t you? It seemed that even know the Gobi was unwilling to remain quiet and give Den some peace. Den simply ignored the beast however, he knew that any attempt to reason with it would go south quickly. He simply pushed the boat forward, wishing he had known the name of the boy whose corpse he was sending out to see. “Thank you for your eye, though I know you didn’t intend for me to have it.” He gave the wrapped up corpse a sad smile as he walked, “I managed to evolve it further, and it’s a Mangekyou now. I promise..” he paused for a moment, he felt a lump in his throat. It was only now that he realized he was fighting back tears. All the tears he should have cried for Kiri, for the loss of almost everyone he knew. He wanted to simply break down where he stood and weep, but he had to finish this, had to give these Kiri nin in a proper burial of sorts.

“I promise I’ll find those who destroyed Kiri…. And I’ll make them pay for what they did.” Den now felt the familiar emotion mix with his sadness, the anger he had felt, at himself, at those who had destroyed his home. As he finished his words he pushed the boat forward, propelling it through the water. Already the Hyuuga boy’s boat was drifting off into the distance, but now this unnamed boy’s corpse followed him. I wonder if the boats will sink before someone finds them? Are you sure you put enough holes into the boats, and rocks in the blankets? Den had intended for the boats to slowly sink as they went out to the ocean, so that their bodies could sink to the bottom and remain undisturbed. “It’ll be fine.”

Now there was only one boat left, as Den approached he looked at the small body wrapped in blankets, what had once been his friend Minorin. As he reached to pick up the small boat, he paused. Flashes of memory appeared in his mind, the first time he and Minorin met, at a training ground in Kiri. They had both been prodigies, reaching the rank of Genin before even reaching 10 years of age. The two had also spent years in Sanctuary together, becoming so close that Den had thought of her as his own sister. He remembered when she had found out he had lied to her about Kiri, and how they hadn’t talked for a while after that. Drops of water hit the sand beneath Den, and he wondered if it was raining.

He then realized that his eyes were wet, he was crying. For his lost friend, his lost village. He fell to his knees on the beach, next to Minorin’s corpse. You have the body of a man, but you’re still just the little runt form Kiri. How can you promise them that you will avenge them when you can’t even control your emotions? Even if you found those who destroyed Kiri, who murdered Minorin, you’d die like the rest.

“Leave me alone.” Why couldn’t the Gobi just let him be, let him mourn his fallen comrades? He picked up Minorin’s boat and began to walk to the water.

Minorin deserves a better burial than this. She shouldn’t be sent off in some boat and forgotten. The Gobi words didn’t seem to be for the sake of antagonizing Den this time, which was enough to make Den stop weeping. She wasn’t a normal Kiri nin in Denkiteki Hayato, you knew what she was capable of. She should be buried, or given some place where people can go to remember her.

“Like who, I’m the only one who wo…” he was cut off by the Gobi, I would too. Please Denkiteki… don’t do this to her. Give me something that I can find years from now, that I can visit. I knew her too Denkiteki, she was my friend as well.

Den was surprised to hear the Gobi ask him to do something, and even though he didn’t like the beast he agreed with it. He’d wanted something he could visit too. “Alright.”

Den took Minorin’s boat and walked away from the beach, into a nearby forest. He put Minorin’s boat down on the floor in a small clearing, about 25 meters in diameter. What are you planning? en was silent however.

Doing the hand seal, Den felt a rumble in the ground as the wood burst from the ground, engulfing and surrounding Minorin’s boat. The branches surrounded each other and formed into a giant tree, that was 55 meters tall and the base of the trunk was 10 meters wide, The roots of the tree ran deep, someone would have a difficult time uprooting it. “Is that good enough Gobi?” Den asked, looking up at the colossal tree. To him it was a fitting grave for a Senju.

How did yo…. Yes. I think it’s perfect…… Thank you. The thanks was sort of forced, but Den felt it was genuine. Den wiped his eyes clear of tears as he turned away from the tree, when he realized that he could see the chakra in his hand. He didn’t dwell on that though, he had plenty of time later to try and see how far his sharingan had progressed. Finished with his business, Den teleported back to Sanctuary.
