He may have been an elegant man but the beastly urge to sink his fangs into the people was too strong, he had to disappear and soon. He continued on not looking back arriving at the gates, He leaped up landing a top the tall doors. Then he was off trying to get away, it seemed he was trying to escape himself if only it were possible.
