Task:
The village needs you to go out into the forest and collect some lumber for the village, get a decent amount but do not destroy the villages surroundings!
Ryusei groaned. These manual labor missions were getting bothersome. At least the tasks were simple, if long and monotonous. It could be worse though, as he did at least get some fresh air and exercise, though not usually enough of the latter to improve himself significantly, still, every bit helped. This time, Ryusei was supposed to obtain a bunch of lumber from the surrounding village, as a local sawmill had put in a rather large order, and the Hokage had decided that his underlings were in dire need of exercise. That explained the large group of ninja heading out, each to obtain a quota of logs to receive payment. Fortunately they were each assigned a sector to obtain wood from, so as to not completely deforest any one specific area. In time, the trees would grow back.
Ryusei walked off to his sector, a water bottle and a borrowed hatchet from the sawmill company in hand. Arriving at his sector, he groaned. Either he was extremely unlucky, or he had somehow offended one of his superiors. There were barely enough trees to meet his quota, and there were a bunch of bears wandering around.
Ryusei thought over his task, and decided he should first make sure none of the bears tried to attack him. Fortunately, they were not ninja bears, just regular ones, but they could still be annoying nonetheless. Ryusei caught a fish nearby, and cooked it over a fire, attracting most of the bears to his spot. Putting out the fire, Ryusei tossed the fish onto the ground in front of him. The nearest bear approached, and while it was eating, Ryusei sank it into a hole in the ground, trapping the bear. He repeated this process a number of times, managing to catch all of 5 bears. The last bear was asleep, so he decided to not bother with the fish part, sinking the last bear into a hole as well, having to finely tune his jutsu so that he only lowered the bear, and not the tree it was lying under. Finally he could get to the real work.
The sun was high in the sky as Ryusei began his original task. Sweating profusely under the strong sunlight, he managed to get his 10 logs cut, the bark and branches stripped off as specified, the remaining trunk smooth to the touch, with nary a sliver to be found. He stretched, feeling a joint crack somewhere in his body from the strain. He groaned, as now he had the hard part. He took a short breather, and had a cooked fish for a snack. Feeling better, he hit upon an idea. He lined up the logs up side by side, the length of the wood facing towards the saw mill. He then created a 20 meter ramp of earth, and pushed the logs down it as hard as he could, the logs all rolling together towards the village, at first from gravity, then aided by Ryusei’s further efforts. The logs rolled a surprisingly long distance before finally starting to stop, even with his efforts. After repeating this several times, the saw mill came into sight, and he dragged the logs the last few meters inside, grunting from the exertion.
Afterwards, he walked back to the sector he had been getting wood from, and brought all the bears back to ground level. Fortunately none of them were interested in a fight. Upon reporting back to the clowns who had given him the mission, he was annoyed to find out that he was supposed to have returned and asked for another sector, his one supposedly being too difficult. They were impressed though that he fulfilled his quota of lumber, and thought that he could do well in the future, with a little training.
