Mission: Capture the wolf
Tue Jan 27, 2015 7:12 pm
- Mission details:
- Mission Name:Capture the Wolf!!!
Rank:SS
Type:Investigation/Retrival/Capture
Character Requirements: A group of Four genin/ A Chuunin+3 Genin
Mission Location: Kumogakure
Word Count Requirements: Must Capture the Target
Repeatable?No
NPC?No [RPC]
Reward: 10,000 Ryo, Chuunin Promotion to those who actually capture the wolf
Task: There's a large beast roaming the village of Kumogakure and no one knows where it came from. A certain Jounin has also gone missing during the appearance of the beast and no one knows where he is, but the Kage has personally chosen you all to capture and subdue this target. Now this beast is fast, this beast is cunning and this beast can also speak so keep your guard up or be out played. You all have until the sun hits the mountains [Sunset for you that slept through the academy] to catch the target and bring it to the Kage's office. Hostile force may be required if things get ugly, but you are under no circumstances to kill or mortally wound the animal, doing so will not only cause you to fail the mission...well someone may just come out of no where and kill you as well. Good luck and the best to you!!
Another day, another new team of genin, Akihana reflected as she made her way to the village gates where she was supposed to meet the genin for today. To be fair they weren't new, two of them she knew very well and the third she had seen on his genin exam. And now they were all accomplished enough to attempt this mission. When the kunoichi had heard who were vying for the promotion to chunin, the blonde had smiled fondly, remembering her own turn at this. Had it really been only a few months ago? Years seemed to have passed since that fateful day but she knew how time had a way of condensing in the shinobi world.
Both Odin and Hanbei were ready for this, she believed. She didn't know the third boy to really offer an opinion but assuming that he had signed up, she could conclude that he too had the confidence. Of course, the boys would soon learn that they needed a lot more than confidence to get through this mission. When she had first seen the wolf, she had been terrified. It was funny really that now thinking of it brought a fond smile to her lips. Of course she would be more facilitating this mission than doing it, letting the boys have their shot at glory. It was what being a ninja of Cloud was all about. Not hoarding the knowledge but passing it on, letting the new generation make it theirs.
Reaching the village gates, the kunoichi stopped, her chakra sensory picking up three familiar sources nearby. Dressed in her usual ninja attire and with her long blonde hair twisted into a neat plait running down her back, she waited. Nothing fancy, no wall climbing, jumping from roofs or power of display at the ready. Akihana firmly believed that effects didn't make a ninja, only the will to never give up did. And hopefully these boys had enough in them to get through this mission unscathed. She believed in them completely, now it was time to see if they believed in themselves.

As if on time, Hanbei's figure appeared from behind a corner, a lazy kitten resting on top of his hat. He walked casually before stretching with a yawn. He didn't care for flashy entrances either, as making one's presence known could mean death in real situations. He spotted Akihina and waved his hand, trotting over to her position and bowing, the kitten falling slightly but it's claws dug into the fabric of his hat to hang on for dear life. He lifted himself up and turned to gaze at the street, "Another mission. This will be good for me. I wish to learn more, as much as possible. Do you know any genjutsu that I can try during the mission? Any mimicry or blind jutsu?" he questioned, "After all, I can't always get by on fancy purse-scrolls or tree climbing." He frowned, having not felt great lately.
"Forgive me. I've just not been feeling well as of late. I hunger for knowledge and skill; I wish to become menacing and powerful, a person to be feared by those outside of the village, so that I may work to protect my home." he shook his head, "I may never become so powerful, but if I don't try, then it would become an evident fact." Hanbei closed his eyes and went silent, coughing gently and taking in the cool air of the day.

As the Anbu approaches, she sees a familiar source of chakra but also notices one of the men has two types of chakra emitting from his body. As you arrive, you see the genin whose exam you proctored waving at you with that same innocent smile and yet....you can't seem to place it but you feel the boy has some sort of confidence radiating off him.
"Hello again Miss Protoctor Lady, or should I call you Miss Akari." He smiles sweetly at you as he tugs on his wool cardigan. Its obvious the boy is not from wealth or cares to shop considering this is what he wore for the genin exam and now a life changing mission. Maybe he would by a flakjacket if they completed this mission, but then again, the rugged and nerdy look suited him.
He looked over at the knowledge hungry boy when something he said struck a cord in him. "Oh yea! I should probably introduce myself. Im Ransurotto, Genin and Kumo's jinchūriki. If I could get everyones abilities and inventories then I think I can manage up a strategy that could make this quick and painless. Unless your a masochistic. then you can have lead on this."

Odin rushed through the village, he was always late to the meeting spot. He thought he had some extra time to grab some food from his favorite ramen place before heading out. He rarely ate so he needed the extra energy for this important mission. He knew he was going to be the last one but he wouldn't keep them waiting long; he ran at his full speed as he approached the village gates. He came to a screeching halt, sliding his boots on the ground as he slid past the gate guards.
He straightened his flak jacket as he slowed his pace down to a casual walk. He spotted the others and a smile just came upon his face. He had a huge grin while waving the others down. His sweat dripped down his headband as he looked at Ransurotto, walking over to him.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Odin Onimusha. If you need anything, let me know after this!" he introduced himself with a raspy and jagged voice.
Odin reached into his pouch and pulled out a scroll from within its contents. He walked up to Hanbei, greeting him with a nod and a big grin. He opened the scroll up while continuing his greetings, "Long time Hanbei! You're looking well!"
He put his hand into the scroll. The scroll lit up a yellowish glow as his hand touched the spot labeled 'Black Heavenly Ninjato'. Next, he pulled out a jet black katana and sheath out of it. He passed Hanbei and headed next for Akihana.
His grin was ear to ear now. He notched the sheath for katana on his waist band. He wanted to be prepared for this mission and he might need this katana and cursed Kensei for having his other one. He cared not, he was stronger than he was before and was willing to do anything to help out for the mission.
"Look at you Akihana," he giggled, "I need to get some new attire just for harder missions. Maybe there is a armor shop in town I can visit after this?" he said as he thought about the mission at hand.
"What do you need us to do?" he finally asked

When Hanbei arrived in true Hanbei fashion, an adorable kitten clinging on to his head, Akihana greeted the boy with a warm smile, golden eyes automatically assessing his health. Did his physical condition worried her sometimes. Of course it did, worrying about people was an occupational hazard of being a mom and Hanbei reminded her far too much of Arata. When the teen bowed, Akihana moved to give him a one armed hug.
The next to arrive was Ransurotto and the blonde eyes him carefully, greeting him with a kind smile and wave. His air of confidence was evident as he introduced himself as well as appointed himself the inventory taker. A good attitude was key and this young man seemed to have it in spades. "No need for formalities," she assured him. "Just call me Akihana."
When Odin arrived, a big grin on his face and both his eyes twinkling with happiness, Akihana let go her reservations and moved to hug the boy warmly. It brought her untold joy to see Odin recovering from his surgery and active enough to be out and about and attempting this mission. As he retrieved his Katana and came to stand beside her, she addressed the group as a whole.
"Alright guys, so first thing first. I'm very proud of all of you for taking this mission. It won't be easy but I believe you have what it takes. We'll be going after a dangerous animal of the likes you've likely never encountered before and I'm pretty sure it possesses powers beyond your average beast. So be careful." Waiting a moment to let that sink in, the kunoichi continued.
"Secondly, my role in this mission will be restricted to medic and support. If you get hurt, i will heal you. If you need help carrying out a strategy, I'll be there for you. But you three call the shots. This is your mission and your chance to prove yourselves because if you do this right, you will be chunin, and chunin lead others. So this is a great way to test out your leadership skills."
Golden eyes surveying the trio of boys, the medic asked if they had any questions. If they did, she answered them accordingly before the quartet set off in search of the beast that they were supposed to capture.

As the group began it's journey to find the beast, Hanbei kept quiet to himself. It's not that he didn't want to talk, but more so shy. He looked around and noted Akihina. He had already read her. He read her; a perfect teacher for him. The idea of becoming chuunin was slightly exciting, but he was more interested in learning some great jutsu afterwards. She somehow made him feel calm and happy; something he hadn't felt since a child; those days were long forgotten however, and he no longer understands why he feels as though he can trust her easily. He turns his attention away from her, finding it rude to stare for too long.
Hanbei turns his gaze to Odin. Hanbei noted his appearance and tilted his head. Odin was an attractive boy, and Hanbei would have to warm up to him more to feel comfortable. Not because of him being a stranger, but not knowing enough about him and his handsome appearance. While Hanbei had never truly found himself physically attracted to another, he brushed it off as quickly as possible. He noted that he had recently been injured, or recovered from injury. He could see it from the way he walked. Sure the boy was strong and able now, but such injuries leave permanent marks that can be seen in the way one moves. He would like working along someone of his strength and confidence; not to mention optimism.
Hanbei then turned his attention to the new boy. He had not seen him before, nor had he spoken to him. His clothing looked worn, but not too bad. He noted his facial features and gulped. This boy was handsome too. His soft but masculine features were truly a sight. Beyond this, Hanbei couldn't tell much from his face; but his clothes. Hanbei could read this boy, but perhaps now it wouldn't seem like the proper time and place. He looked forward to getting to know the boy, however. From his attitude though, he seemed laid back and calm; confident but sarcastic. Hanbei wasn't sure what to think of his personality, but he took interest in it, nonetheless.
Hanbei looked down and took a deep breath before opening his mouth, "S-so... If the beast we seek is truly dangerous, we will need to note the landscape and it's landmarks. We need to use plenty of traps and genjutsu. Odin could wear down it's power, and even lead it into traps as he assaults the beast. I don't know enough about... Ran...Sur...Rotto...? Ransuuurotto. Ransurotto. Okay. Yea, got it. Okay, I'm not sure what you're good at yet, but I'm sure you'll surprise us." he gave a kind smile, trying not to offend the boy. Hanbei was always bad with wording things. "Akihana will keep us healed and I will use clones to confused the beast. Odin, however, must not get too close to the beast, as it may attack him and cause some serious injury. No risk is worth the life of a teammate." Hanbei gulped as he concluded his strategic talk. "S-so... What do you three think?"

Ran looked over the boys and the teach just as stye looked over him. He studied Akihana Akari. He felt the proud nature of the woman at work. The way she carried herself if finesse and tender operation to each un wasted movement. He feels the overwhelming urge of protection from the woman. He knew in his heart that she would die before letting them. She was mother. That was it. The aura she gave off was nurturing and warm, just like a mother. He blinked and looked at her again. If she were any other person, he would think of her as stranger, but she was here in front of him just like the others.
He glanced to Hanbei, the well-mannered and meticulous boy that stood in front of him. As he gulped, Ransurotto grinned. He knew this boy. He was afraid of not knowing and afraid of knowing what he not wanted. A curse to the knowledgable. He would carry out his philosophy to the end ofh is days but fall short because he forgot one simple thing; life is short and meaningless without love. A ninja's life was even shorter. "All the kittens in the world couldnt fill the void of want you seek" Ransurotto thought to himself before looking the boy up and down. He nodded in approval before looking to his lasttarget teammate.
A boy of crimson blood hair, tied up by the kumo village head band. He watched him carfully. He was late, careless and carring. He was everything a man should strive for, except for being late, that needs to be fixed. He read the boy and thought to himself. "A free spirit? A robot to the village? A friendly face? Why not all three." He honestly couldnt get a read off the boy. It was agitating him. He quickly moved on to the strategy and smiled. It was his part to shine.
"Okay, Miss Akari? Do you have a map of some sorts? Maybe a document on the wolf's history? Anything that could and might be useful to us. Even if it's a severed arm, its still better than nothing." He looked over to Hanbei and smiled a little before speaking again. "Hanbei, my new friend, could you tell me your abilities and inventory. That goes for you too Mr. Odin. It would be very helpful to know everything so when I divise a plan, if on string gets cut, two more will grow stronger."

Odin embraced Akihana with a gentle touch upon her back, he took her in, feeling the warmth of her body against his. He closed his eyes for a moment, thinking how much he loved this woman before him. He let go of her, looking at her with both eyes, and giggled to himself for a moment before letting her talk.
He listened closely to them all talk, taking their tactical advice in. He closed both eyes, listening as his smile washed away from his face. He was calculating what to do, thinking about all the possible outcomes. He would need to be the Vanguard, taking this beast head on. He didn't know much about the others but Akihana chose to stay in the rear, providing support. He knew she was just here to see them work together.
He wished they had more time together but Odin worked best under stress.
He might as well not hide his strength for they might need it. He tried not to brag, "I have had a lot of free time since the academy. I learned to master several lightning style jutsus including mastering Chidori, Lightning Clones, Chidori katana," he paused, thinking for a moment of something more useful to provide, "I have a Paralyzing Technique that we can use once we are ready to trap the opponent if the traps don't work themselves," he said to them all, pulling out a second scroll out of his pouch,
"And...I have a contract with dragons," his eyes looked at Ran as he spoke, "If you'd like to," his eyes looking over to Hanbei with a smile as well, "You can make a contract with the dragons to one day summon your own. I only have one summon right now but I will call him in to battle if things get rough."
He hoped his abilities would help soothe any worries anyone had about the mission, "I will take the Vanguard unless anyone else objects. I will do everything in my power to make sure we come out of this unscathed," he said with a soft smile on his face, now looking at Akihana.
"Anything we need to know about this beast? Does it possess any special abilities that might catch us off guard?" he inquired to Akihana.

"Our landscape is this village," the blonde confirmed, addressing each of their issues in turn. "The beast is rumored to hang around the village more often than not so we're at least working in an area we're all familiar with." It was good to see all the boys taking charge, approaching problem solving from different angles. "However, if it helps, I do have aerial navigation abilities and can probably carry one of you with me to get a birds's eye view should the need arise," she added.
Addressing Ran next, she said "Sadly no, the wolf has been witnessed to use powers not unlike a shinobi but nothing specific has been recorded so we're going to have to be on our toes the whole time." It was perhaps a lot to ask of the boys but no one knew better than Akihana that it were situations of strife in which a shinobi's character and attributes truly flourished.
With all the questions answered to the best of her ability while keeping the confidentiality clause honored, the blonde set off with the three boys, looking for the wolf though she didn't doubt that it would be the beast who would find them in the end. From what the medic knew, there were few people in the world who could detect the elusive creature when he chose to not be seen, and even fewer who could avoid him if he decided he wanted a good chase.

Four more took the challenge of finding and capturing the Black Beast, though the rhythm of this particular mission was beginning to be quite the exercise for him. At the current moment, the wolf would have been watching over the group as they initiately met up and went over the mission, the black and red haired wolf sitting within the darkness of an alleyway ten meters from them just listening and waiting.
Once they had finished, the would would have let out a low but long yawn as the group began to disperse around the village with their team leader," This should be quite fun," disappearing back into the shadows of the alley before he was spotted he simply watched and waited for a time to pop up. After a few moments of waiting, the wolf leaped out of the alley, waiting until the group had passed by him and stared at Akihana before taking off into the western side of the village. For now he would simply run around and get a feel for the new squad before having a little fun with them.
