Mission: Deforestation (Team 7)

Details:

Amaya, with a big bag full of various tools, made her way through town. Her and Hisano had registered the first mission complete, and had also been put on a team, as her sensei had failed to set up. Though, that was likely due to the timing of the mission and when the mission office opened, she likely hadn't had time. Currently, Team seven consisted of two people, Hisano and Amaya. While the duo could do harder missions as a registered team, it wasn't recomended until they had more teammates. Hisano could understand why they needed more people, but currently she was happy with it just being her and her sensei. Finally reaching her destination, the girl looked up at the rather large tree. It definetly was a threat, but it was a little more then what the girl may have been able to handle. Setting down the tools she carried, she looked inside. Various saws and other tree cutting tools filled the bag, and should be enough to at least help Hisano show Amaya what to do. Now all the young genin had to do was wait for her sensei to arrive, and they could remove this cumbersome object.

It was a hot bright day for konoha. The kind of day that would make anyone in their right mind choose to stay in, but not hisano. No. The jounin of the hidden leaf village had gotten up and out crazy early to travel to the kage's office. After gathering a bit of information about this and that with which to do her job she noticed a note on the mission board. "Hm.... Take out a tree for some quick cash. This'll be a great chance. " It was only after that she scanned the sign ups and saw her name on it.

"That girl.... Well I was going to do it any way I suppose. Can't believe she beat me to the punch.. Maybe i'll have to start waking before three. Blah. At any rate..." She quickly headed out, checking through her ninja tools. She had nothing of significant size.... But she was pretty sure she could manage.

Heading out the large kage building she frequented for tasks in her daily life Hisano took a glance out at the village. It was beautiful. She headed strait to the edge where she could see the top of the treeline hanging over the great wall of Konoha, glancing around for her student. "She's not here yet.... Alright..." She figured maybe she'd gone to check on her teacher, or to gather tools and decided it would be best to wait. Climbing the wall was an easy feet for the girl with a specialty in scaling and free running. It took her no time at all before she was past the sun warmed brick and her fingertips curled around thick branches.

Once there she looked about it, considering her actions. Time seemed to drag as the girl sat deep in thought. Finally she came to the perfect conclusion. "I've got it. " She crossed over a large branch in two bounds, sinking down against the wood and putting up her hood. Easilly she drifted off into a gentle sleep urged by the comforting warmth and smell of fresh wood, fully drifing off just as amaya showed up. She would be in sight of course, hanging over the edge of the wall, but out cold, not noticing that she'd finally shown.

Amaya felt like she had been waiting forever, sighing boredly, she decided to start getting to work. As she did so, she could at least start learning a couple of things as well. Sighing, she grabbed one of the saws, and seeing how long the handle was, figured she could use it for the jutsu she wanted to learn. Preforming the rat sign, the Saw would seem to sit in the air as Amaya concentrated on it, forcing her will on the saw to keep it in place. This jutsu was all about manipulating the space an object occupied, and being able to move it from a distance, so she shouldn't have that much of a problem as long as she paid attention. Humming to herself, the saw began cutting through the tree, seemingly all by itself assuming no one saw Amaya standing there, concentrating heavily on the object. The work was slow going, and the saw didn't move very fast, but at least the girl could get in some free practice while she did something monotonous. The jutsu was actually going really well, and the girl felt proud of herself. This would be the first time she had manipulated space time, and it appeared she had a knack for it. Continuing to move the saw back and forth, the girl hummed to herself softly, trying to let the jutsu do all the work, and easing up her concentration once she got the hang of it. It still wasn't moving as fast as it could, but at least she had made a small dent on the tree, in such a way that when it fell, it shouldn't crush the gates. The only problem was, of course, getting it to fall, but the girl figured it would happen eventually as the saw slid slowly back and forth.

She was pulled from her soft slumber by the grating sound of metal against wood. Slowly she was lulled back into the world of the conscious, her eyes fluttering open slowly. "H..Hey. Keep it down please. I'm trying to catch a nap before....uh... oh." Her legs slid to the side of the branch, her body slipping from it's safety gently to fall down to the earth. her left hand caught onto the branch, her muscles tensing to hold her weight, bouncing her back upward for a second before she released falling completely to the earth below, just beside her student. The fall looked painful... Incredibly painful, though it didn't show on her face as she landed, rolling forward once more. "Alright.... So let's um... Get started I suppose. " With a wave of her hand she released a flash of paper which seemed to curl in on itself the moment it was released. The small retangular sheets formed four sharpened points, floating in the air for a minute before shooting through the air and into the tree, cutting a large chunk from the trunk. Splinters went... Everywhere. Like literally. THere was plit wood scattered across the ground, bits and pieces latching onto her cloak, and plinters hanging in her soft blue hair every few inches stuck in just deep enough that they would be incredibly hard to eject when the time came.

"Alright. so... That worked... Sort of. " She walked forward, picking up the paper shuuriken and moving back to her place. This time she held them between her fingers, three paper constructs With a quick flick of her wrist she would release them, this time from her power instead of the free floating use of the technique. This time they would move at a speed of eighty two, their sharpness of thirty increased by their incredible speed to bite into the wood with a total sharpness of fifty one and biting into the wood again, another explosion of wood chunks spraying out towards them.

Amaya would continue happily humming to herself as the continued chopping noise from the saw went on. It was almost rythmic at this point, the grating, and her humming. She wasn't bored exactly, just trying to get this job over with as fast as possible. She had more training and other things to learn. This wasn't exactly a true test of her skills after all, so she really needed to get this done to continue her Space/Time training, though she was doing pretty good with this Mass Shift jutsu, the golden flow around the handle still glowed brightly as it moved the saw back and forth, finally going at an acceptable speed. Just as she was about to continue to fall into her lull, Her sensei came crashing down from the tree in some sort of mix of falling and flipping. Amaya barely heard what the woman said as she landed, and then a bunch of paper shurikens crashed into the tree, ruining poor Amaya's concentration, and causing her to fall over her eyes swirling comically. She shook her head and stood up, looking at her sensei curiously. "Were..were you sleeping up there?"
The womans hair and the look of her eyes seemed to be that of a person just woken up and..well fallen from a tree. At least the shurikens did a lot of work to take down the tree, making this job a lot easier. The force in which they hit also would knock the tree in the right direction when it finally came down, so that was also a bonus. Preforming the rat sign, she sighed as she picked up the saw again, and continued to work on the tree with it, the metal grating against the wood in an even rhythmic motion. This shouldn't take much longer.

Mass Shift

"Wh.. What? No. I was definitely not sleeping. I was um... Well I wasn't sleeping. Checking out the structural integrity of the higher branches. That's what i was doing. " This was perfect. She prided herself on her ability to talk her way out of every situation and this was the perfect way to do it. "See. I wasn't sure if we should tackle this tree from the top down or just attack it from the base and hope it didn't fall over. Unfortunately the higher branches are surprisingly resillient. It doesn't seem like they would be the place to start and I just hopped down to let you know. " She nodded walking over to pick up her shuuriken once more. With another quick throw she'd knock another good section from the tree but still this enormous bit of growing wood would not seem to fall. This was taking forever. Like literally forever. Thankfully she had a plan.

"Now. Take a couple steps back and let me show you how a powerful shinobi of the leaf village tackles a problem of this magnetude. I have a fool proof plan to get this knocked out super quick, just watch. " With that she would also take three great steps back, waiting for the girl to follow suit. From the small pouch at her side she drew a slip of paper... No, not her paper style paper. This paper was much different. This sheet had strange writing on the center of it that any one who'd traveled down to the ninja shop would probably recognize. She slipped it into one of the kunai, throwing it once more with mighty force. As it cut into the wood she formed a hand seal and boom. A great explosion took the tree down in one fell swoop, causing it to sway left and right before falling (thankfully) back away from the village.

Even as Hisano said it, Amaya gave her  a slight smile. She knew just how sturdy those branches were, she had been at the top of a million trees just like it. They were actually very UNSTURDY and it was a wonder Hisano hadn't fallen. Continuing her saw motion, she was told to stand back, and wondered what Hisano was going to do. Some great jutsu the jonin knew perhaps? Amaya anxiously watched, right up to the point Hisano put an explosive tag on a kunai. "Sensei wait thats a-!"
She was much to late of course, and felt the heat wash over her face as the tag ripped the base of the tree apart, and caused it to fall down. At least it fell away from the village, and was relatively out of the way. "-Explosive tag.. Sensei that coulda hurt someone!"
Then noticing a sharp pain in her arm, noticed a rather large splinter..lets be honest, a branch, had gone threw her arm. It hurt enourmously, but it only went through the thin part of her skin, so it wasnt that damaging. Breaking it, the other half fell to the ground, and Amaya grabbed her arm in a pained expression. "Shrapnel sensei, you gotta watch out for it."

But with that task done, she smiled and waved to her sensei. "I guess its time to go! I'll see you later!"
