Mission: "Deforestation"
Thu May 02, 2013 11:27 am
So, there was a tree near the village gates, and that had to be fixed by a ninja. To be more specific, it had to be fixed by a genin, a ninja of the lowest rank, and thus most likely with the smallest amount of experience and techniques. Why not just send a higher-ranked ninja out there who could blast down the tree in seconds? But no, instead of that, a this task would be given to a genin, who might not have the raw power to get rid of the tree in short time, and thus might very well take quite a while about this. But a mission was a mission, and, despite how silly it might sound, the tree inn question was a threat to village security, as it could be used as cover while infiltrating the village.
Masaru had put some thought into just how he was supposed to do this mission. He had a feeling that there might be a few genin out there who had a technique or something with which they could simply blast the tree down, but Masaru was not that fortunate. Well, he was actually a little fortunate, as he still had the metal gauntlets of his puppet, and these could probably be used to cut down the tree. Or well, at least Masaru hoped so. He soon realized that this was going to take some time, if it was even possible. This realization he had made after he put the gauntlets on his own hands, and then observed that the tree had only been cut a little after a few swipes at it with the gauntlets.
But well, as long as a swipe would cut the tree, it would eventually fall if he continued. In other words, it would be his patience versus the toughness of the tree. And Masaru was a ninja, which meant that would, literally, continue hacking and slashing away at the task, until it was done with. And after quite a few slashes, Masaru had lost count a long time ago, the tree finally fell. Even a wall will eventually fall to innumerable hits. Part of the mission had been not taking down the village gates while removing the tree, and although Masaru had thought it obvious, he could see how some of the more… destructive genin might need to be reminded of it, as the tree was rather close to the village gates.
