The Genin Exam! Can he do it?

'This is it!' Zennal thought to himself as he waited just outside the exam room for his Genin test. He was nervous, of course. Doubt had been running through his head all morning as he prepared for the test. He practiced the Jutsu he knew he would have to use, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't shake the doubt and nervousness in his head. He just knew he wouldn't do well, but he had to give it his all either way. He looked at his fellow students, some walking out with their forehead protectors all happy like, and others where they didn't have their forehead protectors. Well, no matter what, Zennal knew he would give it his all, and would try his damnedest to become a Genin.

he proctor walked into the room, a small frown on her face despite her attempts to be cheery. The small flowers she had been receiving on her desk had at first simply made her smile, then she had become curious as to their sender and now... well, she wouldn't have to worry about that now, she had work to do.

"Mr. Senju," she called out, getting to the next hopeful attempting the exam. "Please come to the front and demonstrate the transformation and clone technique and explain it to the best of your understanding." The redhead smiled kindly at the candidate in case he was nervous about the exams. "Take your time."

Zennal noticed all the flowers in the room, but brushed them aside, seeing no need to think about it. He just hoped that he wouldn't have to bribe her with any flowers...

In any case, Zennal listened to what he had to do attentively, and smiled making his way to stand about a meter and a half. He could do this! He could do this no problem! So, he quickly weaved through the Dog Boar Ram hand seal, and transformed into the Proctor herself, an exact replica. From head to toe, he looked identical, though if one were to get right up close and check, some in-perfections could be seen, like if they had some sort of birthmark they covered up.

"To begin with, this is the Transformation Technique." He began, smiling to himself "There are three hand seals on this Jutsu, which are the Dog-" He would then demonstrate the Dog hand seal "-the Boar-" he would effortlessly shifted into the Boar hand sign "-and the Ram hand seal" His hands would once more shift into the Ram hand seal with ease. "The purpose of this technique is infiltration, though it could be used as well if you wanted to avoid someone or something. The user molds their Chakra around their body, before releasing it in a steady wave around their body to change their appearance. The best way I could describe how the Jutsu worked is using your Chakra to create some sort of Mirage around you, which is why you can move, and why you can't have it expand past your body. Another thing someone has to remember when using the Jutsu is to picture who or what they want to transform into in enough detail for the Jutsu to pick up what it is you want to become. If you don't, you transform into a featureless white silhouette."

Zennal smiled, as he continued, still in the form of the Proctor "While the Jutsu is useful in many ways, it has some key weakness' any good Shinobi or Kunoichi need to keep in mind. For one thing, if you talk to someone that looks like the person you transformed into, then you run the risk of being caught, seeing as you aren't them but only look like them. Another thing is that an inexperienced user might struggle with keeping it up as they interact with the environment, though that can be fixed with experience."

"Some of the Strong points though is it's really easy on the Chakra, not taking that much to keep it up if you have the control. It's also incredibly easy to learn, so it wouldn't take anyone very long to get a grip on it. Furthermore, it's versatile, seeing that as long as you don't try and be bigger than yourself, you can form the illusion of almost anything. An example would be a statue, or a rock."

Zennal dispelled the transformation, proud of his knowledge on that simple technique. Next, he went through Ram Snake and Tiger hand signs swiftly and efficiently made two copies of himself. He would raise his left hand, the clones mirroring his movements exactly. "The clone Technique also has three hand signs. These ones are Ram-" He and the clones all formed the Ram hand sign "-the Snake-" next he formed the Snake hand sign "-and the Tiger hand sign" finally, he preformed the Tiger hand sign.

"This Jutsu is used mainly as a distraction, as it forms a mirror of you. It can't interact with anything though, so you can't have it run around and punch things, and you can only make two. The best way I can describe this Jutsu is you start to mold your chakra into one or two sides of your body, before expelling it outside of your body and forming it into a body to use. It's kind of like a Genjutsu in a way, that it's not physical at all, and takes advantage of one of your opponents sense's -sight in this case- to spring this illusion up."

"Now for the weakness'. Since the clones aren't physical, and more of an illusion, then they don't cast shadows, so your opponent would be able to catch you in the act very easily if they had a brain and an eye on your shadows, which is why it's a bit harder to trick someone like a Nara, an Uchiha, or a Hyuuga. Another thing is that it isn't physical, so if something happens like they walk through a tree, or a jutsu goes right through them, then they know it's an illusion. It's also not very difficult to use for escape."

When Zennal finished, he dispelled his clones, and smiled. He knew he hit the nail on the head with that. Surely he would pass, right?... Hopefully. Doubt ran through his head one more time, but he was able to shake it off pretty easily.

"Very well done." The proctor praised, moving to an assortment of Konoha headbands laid out to the side. Picking one up, she held it out to the boy. "You are now a Genin of the Leaf, make us all proud." And with that, she patted the young genin and left the room

Zennal grinned, and happily accepted the headband, bowing politely, saying "Thank you! I'll make the village proud!" before quickly wrapping the headband around his forehead, and grinned. Zennal ran out of the academy cheering, as he knew that soon enough, he wouldn't have to stay in that damn orphanage any longer. He was an actual Shinobi.
