chuunin rank up mission (Cole, Kouse, Hikari, Sal)

Cole woke up to a knock on his door, as he was getting up and throwing his pants on he hears his mom yell upstairs that there is someone their to see him. He wasn't very happy about it he hated mornings, but he went down stairs grabbing his shirt off the back of his chair. When he got down stairs he saw a ninja wearing a fox mask dressed in black with a Tonto strapped to his back. He handed cole a scroll, and as cole opened it the ninja vanished. Cole figured that he used the body flicker jutsu, but he didn't really care either way though.

Opening the scroll cole would read it to himself in his head. It told him that he was to go on another A rank mission. That he would meat his team at the village gate before departing. It would also tell him that it was an elimination mission. Meaning that the was being sent out to kill either some bandits or missing nin. Their was about 14 in total, but it didn't tell what they could do. It just said that they were dangers and needed to be removed. He was fine with that he had gotten a taste of real combat on his last mission. Even though they let her live this time would be different they would have to kill them all. He thought he would be fine with that, and that it wouldn't bother him. Even though he had never killed any one before.

Cole would grab his boots and slip them on before heading out for the mission, as he walked past the closet he would open the door and grab his kunai pouch he kept in it. He would tell his mom goodbye and shut the door as he walked out making his way to the village gates to meat up with everyone and see who he was going to be working with. He figured that Salzem and Hikari would be on the team since they worked so good together last time, but he didn't know for sure.

Salzem was sound asleep at home, Zeefalvora resting nicely upon his chest, face snuggled up under his chin. It was almost hard to believe two things about his giant blue spider. 1, she could kill you and 2, that Salzem was scared out of his mind when he met her. She didn't like to admit it, but she could be quite sweet and kind. Only when he heard a knock at his door, was he dragged back into consciousness. He craned his eyes shut, trying to ignore the annoying echo that kept resonating from his door downstairs. Only after the third knock did he notice Zeefalvora was no longer on his chest. He heard her various feet scuttling down the stairs. He assumed that she was heading to the door and he jolted up to stop her. However, by the time he had gotten dressed and got down there, She was already turning the knob on the door. Salzem quickly snatched up his spider, placing her on the near by counter, just out of sight of whoever was outside. An unknown courier handed him a scroll, no questions, no request for pay. As Salzem received it, the man nodded, then ran back into the village, apparently to deliver more messages.

Zeefalvora wasn't pleased that she was denied and squatted on the counter, moping. Salzem smiled sympathetically and handed her a small lizard he had killed and stored for just such an occasion. She denied him at first but once he set it down in front of her and turned around, he heard the dulled sound of juices being sucked from a corpse. He smiled. Same Ol' Zeefalvora. He opened up the scroll he had received and his eyes widened as he read the contents. A message from the Hokage himself! Salzem got his gear together. His swords, his weapons, and yes, Zeefalvora. He rushed out of his house, everything in place. Apparently, they had been tasked to escort the Daimyo himself! Salzem was slightly dubious, giving a team of a Chuunin and some genin this all-important task. Regardless, Salzem made his way to the gates, just about where most of the major missions began. Strange or not, this mission was going to get done.

'hey kouse, wake up, i think it's time for you to wake up' a females voice gently infiltrated his mind.
Kouse yawned loudly stretching his arms..he had stayed up late talking with Skipton the jellyfish. 
She was really quite the companion for him.
'well I can't remember making you my alarm clock Skipton' kouse thought back while he stood up and took a mirror looking at his eyes. 
'kouse you really do look at your eyes often' Skipton communicated..'and I've noticed they change colours, is that normal?'. 
Kouse moved to wash his face 'Well I'm wearing something that allows that to be possible skipton' he started combing his hair 'besides where in hell are you'. 
Just yesterday kouse had been shocked speechless when he had noticed Skipton had changed to something like a seed.. He had thought that she was dead and had panicked until she had calmed him down explaining how it worked. 
Throughout the week they have been together kouse had been noticing different special things about Skipton. 
'could you stop worrying about me kouse, I'm alright' Skipton penetrated his mind.. kouse bit his lip.. He hadn't still gotten used to having his mind linked with her.

A loud knock on the front door prompted kouse to go check who was knocking so loudly, he wore a frown on his face. 
He opened door quickly and to his suprise he saw a ninja with a mask..said ninja handed him a scroll and before kouse could say anything the ninja had vanished. 
Kouse was confused, why would an anbu ninja drop off a scroll with him. 
Kouse hurriedly opened it and read the contents. 
Well well well, he thought 'Well Skipton it's like we are gonna be joining with a team for an A Rank mission' he was already putting on his ninja clothes, his Cape that had the uchiha insignia on the back.
Kouse hoped he would like his teammates, he didn't want to get into an early scuffle with anyone. 
He stopped at the door and thought if he had forgotten anything. 
'no kouse you have everything you need' Skipton was floating around kouse. 
'okay that is adorable but you will have to keep a low profile remember?'
Skipton promptly landed and burrowed into kouse's hair, hiding herself. 
Kouse opened the door and jumping on a nearby rooftop, started his race to the gates. 
He didn't want to be late.

Hikari, as per usual, was outisde in the training grounds working on learning some new lightning jutsu, as she had just recently learned the new element thanks to the help of Kouse. It was still a bit dark out, dawn not yetting hitting the world, and the air was a bit colder because of that. In the distance, scurrying could be heard as bushes rustled, the noctornal animals were getting ready for the rising sun. It was quiet as she trained, no one was crazy enough to be up so early to train or do buisness. That was they way she liked it, solidarity in training. Sure she sometimes got lonely, but she was a lot more productive than if she were with others, they would chat and talk and easily get distracted.

"Okay, so this lightning element book does not give me a ton of jutsu to learn easily, this element is a lot different than my fire. But I can do it!" She spoke to herself as she read from her book that she had gotten from the Konoha library some time ago, right before her date with Kouse. I wonder how everyone is doing. I felt my arm tingle a few days ago, I hope Mitsui is okay. I haven't felt any thing from Kouse's mark, so he is probably fine. I haven't seen Salzem or Cole since our A rank mission, I bet they are doing fine since they can easily take care of themselves. I also wonder how Draconis and Akiko are, they are my new siblings. I should go visit them after my training, it'll be a great surprise for them! She smiled as she thought of all the friend's she had made and thought of how thankful she was that even though her parents lied to her she was able to meet her amazing and kind siblings. She knew she had great people in her life, helping her become the best kunoichi she could be.

"Okay, back to training! This lightning jutsu says it gives me a boost to my speed and strength, I could use that in conjunction with my eight trigrams, then I would be almost invincible! Not really, but still haha! It's called the Lightning Release: Lightning Javelin jutsu. This book says I need to surge lightning through my body to ionize the neurons which will result in an increase in the neuron-transmission rate , thus giving me the stat boosts...How do I surge lightning chakra through my body without electrocuting myself?" She shook her head, deciding to give the jutsu a try first before worrying about the small details like that.

She stood up and closed her eyes to focus, hoping to clear her mind and think only of the jutsu at hand. As she opened her eyes she took a deep breath, she had gotten into the habit of doing that before learning a new jutsu. Hikari thought of her lightning element and tried to surge the lightning chakra through herself, though she felt nothing. She continued trying for about ten minutes, slowly starting to feel her ions change, though she couldn't be sure because before she could try again with more force a man appeared in a cloud of white puffy smoke, looking a little tired and a bit irritated. She figured it was from trying to find her, as most people would normally still be at their house that early in the day. But she was not a normal person by far.

"Hikari Hyuuga, I have been looking everywhere for you. Take this." He handed her a scroll and disappeared in the same puff of smoke he appeared with. She thought it was eerily similar to the time she was at the hospital and had been summoned to her first A rank mission. She unrolled the scroll, her eyes skimming the content inside. "An A rank mission to escort the Daimyo! Why are they tasking us with such an important mission? Maybe it's a lot of Chunin and only two Genin on this mission? Who knows!" She collected her stuff, pushing her book into her bag, and ran off to the village gates to meet her teammates, curious as to who she would be partnered with this time. Maybe Salzem and Cole will be there again, we are a pretty good team when not caught in a Genjutsu haha.

She made it to the gates within five minutes, the training grounds not being too far away. She wondered where her teammates were, or if they were already there but outside the gates like Cole had done during their last mission to train a jutsu while he waited. She was a bit nervous, though she didn't let it show. It was only her second A rank mission, and she had not learned any new jutsu since her last mission. She was hoping that when they faced a new enemy, she would be able to perfect the Lightning Javelin jutsu and combine it with the Eight Trigrams technique. She wasn't sure how many people would attack them for the Daimyo, but she figured it would be high considering who it was. Perfect, I can use these enemies to train! Maybe I'll even be able to defeat some of them easily, not like that one crazy assassin chick from last time. She was no easy target. But it could be her again, since we did leave her alive...I'll have to be on my guard in case another Genjutsu user attacks us, otherwise things could get ugly...

Cole would walk out of the house strapping his new katana to his back. He would jump up to the roof of the near by village, and head to the village gates. Luckily the sun would be to his back, as he jumped from roof to roof. He hated when the sun got in his eyes, but he figured every one did as well. When cole got to the village gates he would jump down, and walk over to the gate. Looking to see if any of they others had gotten their yet. When got up to the gate he saw Hikari standing in the open gate.

“Hay long time no see. How have you been” cole would yell at her just load enough for her to hear it. He would close the distance with a breeze blowing in through the open gate blowing his jacket back in the wind. He would have a smile having not seen Hikari in a while. They hadn't worked together in a few weeks, and he wondered just how much stronger she had gotten. Since she was the one that defeated the assassin on their last mission.

Salzem arrived at the gates, seeing Hikari and Cole had already made it there. He would smile warmly and wave. His excitement to see them was twofold. One, to see how well they all had advanced and two, because he hadn't worked with Hikari in over a couple of weeks. He had seen Cole and Kouse recently, though under the unfortunate circumstances of a powerful missing ninja. Regardless, he pushed that distressing thought from his head and approached both his friends.

"Hikari! It's been too long!" Salzem would say, grinning. He was eager to see how much she had progressed since their last encounter.

"Cole! How have you been?" Salzem would ask. They both were no longer the young genin they once were when he had first trained them. They had become very powerful ninja indeed. Now all that was left was Kouse and he was the one he was most worried about. Not because he was the weakest or the least experienced, but because he had been targeted for his eyes and he might be targeted again. Hoping for the best, he waited for Kouse's arrival, tapping his finger on his pant leg to a song he had long forgotten the name to.

Kouse saw three figures at the gates as he quickly approached it, he had been hoping to be teamed up with ninjas he knew or at least were friendly, he didn't want a boring mission even if a mission is not where you get to make friends, it would be nice to complete one surrounded with friends. 
As kouse approached the gate with his long black hair combed and untied being blown behind by the wind..the first person he recognised was salzem!. 
A smile of relief was quickly on kouse's lips. Salzem was apparently the chunin going to take charge of this mission. 
He remembered how just recently salzem had intervened when he was about to get abducted by a missing ninja, he hadn't even known then but now he was grateful. Then he spotted Cole, he had sometime ago joined him and a chunin named risako to quell down a troublesome crowd, and he had liked the way he had handled his fare share of the rioters, kouse knew that Cole was a capable ninja,and a friendly one, he would really like working with Cole. 
Then he spotted the white hair of the third ninja, the stature, and clothing... A female ninja, she was not facing him though but backing him talking to salzem and Cole.
Kouse smiled, even if he didn't know the last ninja, he would still really enjoy this mission. 
"hello salzem" kouse would lightly thumb sal on his shoulder as a friendly greeting and a nod and a hand shake to Cole "hey there Cole, the last time we met i was nearly kidnapped, I hope it doesn't happen again though". 
Kouse smiled at salzem again "and thanks for your help sal, I really appreciate it". 
Kouse would then turn to finally see who the third and only female ninja was. 
The smile on kouse's face was wiped off, he blinked twice... It was Hikari?.. He hadn't seen her since she had rushed to the hospital on an emergency, cutting their date in half. 
He smiled back as memories of how they held each other in the middle of that garden came to his mind. 
He hesitated, was he to hug, kiss or shake her as a greeting?. 
He certainly wanted to do the latter two more but he felt that they were on a serious mission and wouldn't be unprofessional.
He finally stuck out a hand to hikari for a handshake "how have you been doing hikari" kouse would ask.

Hikari turned as she heard a familiar once call out to her. Her eyes widen as she realized who it was: Cole. "Hey Cole! It has been quite a while! I've been great! How have you been?" As he got to where she was, she grinned even bigger, excited to have a trusted friend as her teammate. If Salzem comes on this mission too, we will be the dream team again! Though I wonder who the last person is going to be, maybe it'll be a girl and I can finally make a friend who is a girl (and not my sister)! She was about to ask what Cole has been up to, when another familiar voice filled the air.

With her snowy hair blowing from the opened gate's wind, she kept grinning as she saw Salzem, and most likely his familiar the spider, approach them. Her eyes lit up at Salzem grinned at her, happy he was smiling more often than their first meeting. "Salzem! It have been ages since we've last seen each other! I wonder who our last teammate is, since we are the dream team here!" She was very happy and excited for their mission, glad to be able to trust her teammates and their abilities. She wondered how much stronger the two had gotten, since she wasn't able to see their full abilities during their last mission. She knew, though, that they were strong enough to take on any challenge.

With her back facing the third, yet still very familiar voice, Hikari turned around for a third time, her eyes widening at who it was: Kouse. She hadn't seen him since their date, where she had to hurriedly leave to attend to patients in the hospital. She was a bit embarrassed at having to cut their date short, and not finding him later to make it up to him. She hoped he wasn't holding that against her, otherwise their mission would get awkward. No, we can be professional adults about this. A mission is a mission, no working out problems or being awkward allowed! We must always stay on guard, otherwise we will die and so will the Daimyo. Hikari snapped out of her thoughts when she registered what Kouse had told Cole, that they hadn't seen each other since Cole had saved him from being abducted. Then Kouse added a thanks to Salzem for also saving him. She was in awe, both of her friends has saved Kouse, yet she had had no idea that he even was in danger. She felt terrible, and would not have been able to live with herself if something had happened to Kouse, especially since she can find out where he is and if he is in trouble. 

Kouse, most likely unaware that she was thinking about him and Cole and Salzem, stuck out his hand to greet her in a handshake. She shook his hand, not too gentle nor too firm, and replied to him, "I've been doing great! How have you been?" She was curious about his almost kidnapping, but she didn't want to ask about it in case he was ashamed or just didn't like to talk about it. She wanted to respect his boundaries. 

After hearing everyone's chats and replies to one another, a fourth figure was walking their way. Hikari had no idea what the Jounin looked like, but she figured that at this early in the morning it had to be him walking towards them. She hoped he was more sober than their last guy, the feudal lord's drunkard of a friend.

Everyone was arriving and greeting one another cole thought that it was a good thing that everyone knew each other. This way it would be easier for everyone to trust each other faster. The greetings wouldn't last to long as a man would start to walk up to them. Cole figured that this early in the morning it had to be the one they was protecting. He was wearing loose fitted blue pants with a black shirt, and he had on a long white robe, and a straw hat on. He walked up to the group “how do I look” he would tell them with while pulling the front of his hat down a little. “I figured it would be easier to protect me if the enemies all thought that I was just a common man walking with a ninja escort” he would add.

Cole looked the guy over and he looked nothing like a common person he was wearing fine clothing. They only thing that said common was his hat, and at this point cole thought that it would stick out like a sore thumb.

He is an idiot cole thought to himself. Well its better then the drunk we got last time he figured. He would wait to see if any one would told him anything, and would wait for sals orders to move out.

Salzem smiled as Hikari exclaimed how long it has been, then laughed at the "dream team" comment. Then he felt a tap on his back and he turned around. It was Kouse, thanking him for coming to his rescue earlier that week. Salzem shrugged nonchalantly as if it were no big thing.

"Is that not what friends are for?" Salzem replied. If he were not already looking for that kill-order, he wouldn't have spotted Kouse's problem. He wouldn't let him now this as he was taking some degree of pleasure letting him think Salzem was always watching and protecting him. It was a funny thought. He had noticed that longing gaze Hikari and Kouse shared. Salzem was aware of their relationship as he had already deduced it with an earlier encounter with Kouse. He was perfectly fine with them "expressing their affections" so long as it didn't go farther than a hug or quick kiss, as they needed to stay professional and undistracted with the Feudal lord in tow. No sooner than this thought had crossed his mind, a man in fancy robe-wear and a straw hat sauntered up to them as self-assured as you please, paying no mind to the potential dangers of this escort. This was clearly the feudal lord, but for what purpose would he be wearing that  hat with those robes? They clash annoyingly. Only when he explained that it should help "protect" him did Salzem figure out that it was supposed to pass for disguise. The temptation to face-palm at that point was impossibly strong, but somehow, he exchanged the gesture for a bow of respect worthy of a feudal lord. He maybe an idiot, but he was still the lord of their lands and needed to be addressed as such.

"We are ready to move out, my lord." Salzem would address the Lord and gesture with his fingers for his team to move out.
