chuunin rank up mission (Cole, Kouse, Hikari, Sal)

Hearing Salzem's roaring laughter made Hikari happy. She hasn't witnessed him laugh really, so it was a step -or so she thought- to an even closer friendship with the chunin. She wondered, briefly, if people still thought of him as scary, as they had when the two of them first met. He hadn't told her that, but it had been written all over his face and it glistened in his crimson eyes. Now though, he seemed happier and more open. That is what the power of friendship can do, huh?


Then Kouse spoke, Hikari's eyes widening in shock as he told her about his near kidnapping encounter just because of his eyes. She never knew people hunted down those with doujutsu like the Sharigan, which lead to her wondering if people tried to steal the Byakigan as well. She doubted that, as the Sharigan was better fit against most opponents, and it seemed powerful and possibly even stronger than her own doujutsu. "I am glad Cole and Salzem were able to save you!" She truly was thankful to the two tougher shinobis for saving her friend ((and possible bf?)).


It wasn't long before they conversations ended, as the man they were escorting showed up in a rather flashy outfit. Uhm..he looks rich, which would draw the attention of bandits, thieves, missing nin, and who knows what else! He should have dressed down for the occasion...but I'm really just happy he isn't a drunk lard like the last guy, he was a nightmare! She eyed his hat, so normal compared to the rest of himself. As he said his 'disguise' was to help them, Hikari had to stop herself from laughing out loud, not wanting to hurt his feelings. She felt his 'disguise' was a terrible idea.

They were saved from any more awkward comments by Salzem, taking charge and telling them to head out. Their mission began now, and they had to protect the man with their lives, no matter what. Hikari was anxious of who they might come across on their mission, as word had been leaked about his leaving Konoha. Deciding it was best, like last time, Hikari took position in the back, behind the man. Her veins on the sides of her eyes popped across her face, a sign she had activated her Byakugan and could see all around them. No one would get past her, she hoped.

Cole watched as every one got a look at the guy they was suppose to be protecting for this mission. Cole didn't know what was going to happen on this he knew that word had gotten out about their mission. Which meant that their was no telling how many missing nin would be coming after them, but it was his job to keep this guy safe. He knew that with the help of his team that they would be able to do it with out any problem. He would watch as Sal gave the order for them to move out.

Cole would stand beside the guy. He figured that him and Kouse would be beside him with Sal in the front and Hikari in the back like last time. This way if any one came at Sal we would be able to help and defend, or if the same thing happened with Hikari in the back. Cole figured that this would probably be the best course to travel with. When they got out of the village and started to head down the road a little ways he would speak up about his plan if no one else had came up with a better one.

“Hay Sal I was thinking that we should keep me and Kouse beside here while you lead and Hikari bringing up the rear with her byakugan” cole would tell Sal. He would wait to see if any one had any exceptions to it or minor changes. He was more then willing to change it. He knew that sal had more experience and might have a better plan for protecting this guy. Which reminded cole that he didn't even know this guys name. After the would settle on how they was going to travel and got into position cole would look at the guy. “so what is you name if you don't mind me asking” cole would ask?

“My name is K” he would tell cole. Cole thought it was a little weird to have a single letter for a name but to each their own he thought.

Salzem, with crew in tow, walked down the road a ways, before Cole voiced his plan. It was reasonable, keeping the medium, strength troopers in the middle while the strongest takes the front and the sensory based ninja take the back. Salzem nodded.

"Good plan, but lets put the Fuedal lord back with you, Cole. Keep him between you and keep him close. We don't want any missing ninja getting their hands on him."

With these words, he would expect everyone to fall into formation. As soon as they did, however, Salzem noticed some movement in the trees on either side of the road, following from behind. It was too much to be anything like a bird or a chipmunk.  No... It was much bigger. Despite having noticed this, the only indication he gave that he noticed was his eyes flicked to any sound they made like the occasional rustle of leaves. Salzem would look back at Hikari, signaling to her to take a look around with her Byakugan by nodding his head ever so slightly at the surrounding trees. He assumed that there were somewhere around 4 or 5 of them, but he could be wrong. Whether he was or not, he knew that they weren't experienced. This much was obvious.

Kouse liked their arrangement, it made sense, salzem was at the front being the strongest, hikari at the tail end being the one with the perfect ability for fishing out danger..her byakugan and finally both he and Cole were to be in the middle placing the feudal Lord in between them. 
Kouse nodded at cole, to signify that he agreed completely with his idea. 
When they had started moving kouse heard Cole ask the feudal Lord for his name and he turned to listen to what the answer would be. 
He shook his head lightly as he heard what the answer was... 'My name is K'. 
A smile appeared on kouse's face, hmmmm so he was even keeping his name a secret from them?... Well someone really had some trust issues, but maybe that was what had kept the feudal Lord alive. 

His smile immediately left his face though as he saw the way salzem had looked into the trees, like he saw something?.. Kouse's sharingan was immediately activated, he was ready for any surprises. 
His alertness only increased when salzem turned and signalled to hikari behind them to check around with her byakugan. 
Kouse knew what was up, he had the feeling that they were being watched. 
Kouse knew if there were any of them around hikari would immediately give them the details as to what they were up against.

They had been walking for quite a ways before Cole pipped up, voicing his opinion on their formation. She thought it was logical, and well protected on every side. Salzem seemed to think along the same lines, and so it was that she stayed behind everyone to bring up the rear while Cole and Kouse took each side and Salzem brought up the train which made sense to her because he was the strongest and most experience (not to mention he was squad leader for a reason).

As they walked, Hikari overheard Cole asking their guest what his name was, and to her surprise he just said the letter K. She thought it was a bit stranger, but figured he was trying to go along with his disguise. The chatting didn't last long though, Salzem had already detected people in the treelining on both sides of them. It wasn't hard for Hikari to see that there were ten ninja, fine on each side of the road. She could sense that they were highly weak, no stronger than a normal academy student. Hikari knew they could easily brush past the weaklings.

"There are ten of them, five on each side of the road. They are pretty weak though, about as strong a your average academy student." She whispered very quietly to the boys, alerting them of what they were up against. She waited for orders from Salzem, for the other boys to start moving, or for the enemies to attack first.

Every one seamed to go along with coles plan with Sal's minor change he wanted to cole to stay with the guy and protect him. Cole thought that it was a good idea his Ice jutsu made for a pretty powerful shield against most attacks. It wasn't long after cole asked the guys name they was protecting that Sal gave the signal that their was someone around. Cole would go on about his business and pretend like he knew nothing of what the potential guys was doing. He trusted Sals instincts and so he stayed on guard ready to fight, but doing every thing he could to make it look like they opposite was going on. He even went as far as to kick a small rock in the road a few times while he waited on Hikari to confirm that their was enemy's near or not.

It wouldn't take her long to look, and cole knew that Hikari's byakugan was a powerful doujutsu. She would tell them in a low voice so not to alert they enemy's that they was on to them. Cole would wait for Sals orders to either attack or to defend. He knew that he was suppose to guard this guy, and that's what he was going to do.

Cole would prepare to use his Ice dome jutsu. He knew that if the enemy was as weak as Hikari said they wouldn't be able to sense chakra so their for they would have no idea. That while he was walking and kicking his small rock around that he was focusing water chakra into his right hand while focusing wind chakra into his left hand. He knew that at the distance that they were all apart that he would be able to get every one inside of the dome. If they did a surprise attack with kunai or maybe a low level jutsu. He knew that his Ice dome could withstand it, and that he would be able to let it down as soon as they attack was over so that they others could finish it.

(basically if sal as them attack first with kunai or low-level jutsu cole will use the ice dome jutsu and as soon as their attack is over he would let it fall back down. Which Sal would be able to jump through the ice at this point with ease, and he will stay and protect the K. just letting you guys know what he was doing if attacked. So there is no confusion)

10, huh? Salzem thought to himself. The rest must've been better at watching from steal than these other slobs in the trees. Salzem walked casually as if he were just on a stroll. As if he didn't have a care in the world. He tapped his fingers on his pant leg to an old song he had long forgotten the name of. Then suddenly, a kunai came whizzing out of the trees, aimed at Salzem's neck at speeds of 40. He easily saw this coming and simply side-stepped out of the way and let the knife whiz past, imbedding itself in the earth. He drew Olympia and twirled it casually in an attempt to draw out the missing ninja by having little to no interest in their attacks. Seemingly, it worked and 2 ninja dropped from their perches and Charged Salzem. Three more advanced from either side and 2 more from behind. An effective ambush, if these men weren't so weak. These ninja appeared to be children, no older than 13-14. He noticed some of them had Konoha headbands coming out of their pockets or worn across their heads, the Konoha symbol scratched out. Salzem had been in this situation before, during his mission with Yensung, Risako and Draconis. However, the Hokage's orders were quite clear. Eliminate the threat. There was no room for mercy this time.

The ninja charged, the ones in front of Salzem raised their blades as they ran at him, readying themselves for a downward slash. If Cole would hold off on the shield, Salzem would meet the Ninja's slashes, by raising his blade and blocking both. He would then twist his body to the right, and using the hook-like design of the blade, would wrench the swords out from the hands of their owners. He would then slip his sword back into his belt and grab the back of those two ninja's necks and slam their heads together with a strength of 50, causing a loud crack to echo across the area. those two would slump down to the ground unconscious perhaps fatally injured. Once he was done with those two, he would look back to see how Cole and the others were doing.

Kouse smiled, at what hikari said.. So10 suicidal pricks were about to attack them? Well then he hoped he had brought some tissue to clean himself up cause someone's blood was going to surely stain his clothes when he was through with them. He locked his arms in the tiger handseal creating a water clone beside him. 
Kouse saw with wide eyes as two kunais shot out of the trees and were directed at salzem, he knew it was way too slow to even make salzem worried. He watched as he effectively dodged them and proceeded to smash their heads together.. Well that was painful kouse thought. 
Immediately he then saw 3 of them charge either side of him and Cole, two on his side and one on cole's side. 
He was planning on taking it slow and enjoying himself with them until he saw two more of them charging from behind straight for hikari. The smile on his face left instantly, he didn't know just how strong hikari was and he expected her to be able to get rid of those two easily but still he wasn't going to keep his eyes off her.. Just in case. 
He instantly performed the hiding like a mole Technique... While his clone performed the body flicker Technique.. Going straight for one of the two ninjas that were closing in on him at speeds of 140.. Said ninja wouldn't even know what hit him until it was too late.. The clone would charge him throwing a Kunai straight to the ninjas chest with speeds of 90 and strength of 24..this would stop the ninja in his tracks but won't kill him instantly and as the clone arrives to the now stationary ninja, he would punch the Kunai that was already imbedded on his chest, making his fist+Kunai go clean through the ninjas body. 
The second ninja would see this terrible deed done to his partner and would scream loudly and attack kouse's clone with all he had, not realising that it was only a clone.. With speeds of 40 and he would stab the clone at the back with his sword which makes the clone burst into water and vanish. He would be surprised on seeing no blood. 
But at that moment he stood stabbing my clone, the real me underground would immediately do the headhunter Technique. 
Dragging and pulling the said ninja down into the ground with speeds of 95 and 29 Strength until only his head is visible. 
Then coming out of the ground and would quickly point it out to sal and ask if he would want him alive for questioning or he wanted him dead. 
If yes kouse would immediately turn to where hikari was facing two other ninjas and watch to see if she was effectively pummelling them.. And if not well kouse would perform the fist rock Technique and with a Strength of 49(+25 Strength due to tech) would with one punch completely smash the ninjas head. 
He knew why he had brutally killed those ninjas and would brutally kill anyone who attacked them, it was because of what had happened to his father, how he had gotten murdered, it was people like this that had done it, he was going to get rid of them, as much as he could and as effectively. 

Kouse would take in a sigh of relief if he turns and sees hikari already done or still fighting the two ninjas but if anything happens to hikari he would be ready to help. 
He also was alert knowing only 7 out of the reported 10 ninjas had attacked, he was alert in case the remaining three would try a surprise attack.

The enemy ninja threw the first punch, figuratively speaking. Two kunai flew straight towards Salzem, of course he easily dodged them and fought the two ninja that followed suit. He disarmed their from their blades and smashed their heads together, knocking them out cold. Next Kouse fought two of his own, easily taking them down with a clone and his jutsu. The clone stabbed the one ninja in the heart and forced it all the way through his body, now lifeless and crumpling to the ground. Kouse then popped out of the ground and defeated the second ninja with a jutsu Hikari was unfamiliar with. Either way, four enemy ninja had already been killed. Cole had one ninja attack him, but Hikari couldn't watch him fight as two ninja unknowing made their death wishes as they charged at her.

Getting into the traditional Gentle Fist style of fighting, with her palms facing her opponents, Hikari waited for one of them to step into divination circle, like a mouse triggering a trap. The first unlucky ninja could not even keep up with Hikari (as she had a speed if 90 thanks to the jutsu). The Eight Trigrams: Sixty Four Palms technique had six total strikes, with sixty four chakra points targeted. On the first movement of her arms, she would make two consecutive strikes to make two chakra points hit. Second, two consecutive strikes to make four. Her arms were rapidly moving as she went for her third, four consecutive strikes to make eight. Four, eight consecutive strikes to make sixteen. Fifth, sixteen consecutive strikes to make thirty two. For the last sixth attack, Hikari took a giant step forward while she made thirty two consecutive strikes to complete the sixty four, but she made a minor change to the course of her hands and hit his heart instead of the last chakra point. The ninja had been pushed back a few feet from the force, and he fell straight to the ground, coughing up blood as his organs started failing him.

The second ninja only saw a blur of hands and then his comrade fall to the ground, blood dripping from his mouth. With anger flowing through him, he screamed and sped towards her, hatred glistening in his eyes. He held his sword high above his head, aiming to slash her with it. He never got there though, as she dashed quickly to him and kicked him high I the shoulder, causing him to drop his blade. Then she kicked low in the gut (her strength and speed both at a +15 stat boost). This caused the second ninja to go flying into a near by tree trunk, blood oz zing out of his mouth as well from the force of the kick and his impact from the trunk. Hikari was glad she was able to use her Leaf Whirlwind jutsu on the ninja, as she had yet to perform that jutsu during an actual battle.

The fight wasn't over though, as a third ninja (the 8th) jumped down from a tree and attempted to either land in her back or stab her in the back. He neve made it to her though, as a dark flash jumped from the nearby bushes and tackled the third ninja. The flash, the boys would soon come to realize, was a pure black wolf, Kuro the familiar. Kuro had his fangs sunken into the mans flesh, Crimson sitting the dirt underneath them. Screaming in pain, the ninja flopped around aimlessly. Hikari picked up one of the swords the enemy ninjas dropped and walked over to the third, giving him a hard stare. She felt sorry for the guy, but the scroll had told her to eliminate any threats, so they could not save anyone that time around. With Kuro holding the ninja down, she looked down at his panic stricken face and struck him right in the heart, a gasp escaping his lips as he took his last breath.

Hikari and Kuro glanced at each other before he ran off into the shadows of the bushes, keeping himself hidden from the enemy ninjas that we're sure to attack them. Hikari took a final parting glance at the three ninja and took her spot back behind Mr. K, wondering where the last two ninjas were. Maybe they ran away in fear.

Cole watched as the kunai flew out of the bushes at Sal who easily dodged them. He the watched as sal started to fight two, and then two came out of the bush on Kouse's side followed by one on his side. Then two more came out from behind them at Hikari. Cole knew that everyone should be able to handle these guys, but just to make sure he wanted to finish this quick.

Cole pulled his sword and held it in one hand. He would have it at a down ward point when the kid charged at him kunai in hand. Cole waited till the kid got with in a few meters then moved at a speed of 70 and cutting the kid in the chest with a speed of 100 strength of 15. Then stepping behind him as coles sword got to the kids shoulder he would cut down the kids back. Cole would watch as the kid fell forward to the ground. Cole would walk over to the kid and drive his sword through the kids heart killing him. Cole would then look to see how every one was doing.

He noticed that everyone had taken out the ninja that attacked them but their was still two more ninja around the area. He saw that kouse had one buried up to his head he figured that he used the head hunter jutsu. Cole would then look over to Sal to get the order to either find the last two or to move on. Cole would keep his sword in hand encase the other ninja attacked he would on guard.
