New Techniques?! Heck YEAH Empty New Techniques?! Heck YEAH

Sun Sep 13, 2015 10:30 pm
Kosuke rolled out of bed, glancing at his clock it read 9:00 AM. This was very late to him, he is usually up and eating by now. He had trained himself much too hard last night and he was feeling sore all over. As he stood up he went over to the shower allowing the warm water to fall over his face and grant his body some reprieve from the soreness. He began to think of what he wanted to do, learn jutsu. He decided that today he would head straight for the library to scour for jutsu scrolls. As he got out of the shower he looked at himself, he had grown noticeably more muscular since he became a Genin and amped up his training. He knew that he had to get stronger though, no matter the cost. He put on his clothes and slid into his cloak but as he ate he noticed that it was raining outside, not the ideal day for fire style training. He knew there were some jutsu that didn’t require a certain element, but if all else failed, he could definitely work on his Taijutsu katas.
He walked out of his apartment that was on the bottom floor of the complex. Locking the door behind himself he pulled on his hood and headed towards the library. As he walked he noticed the rain and the clouds and began to reflect on the past. His family was a broken one and many both inside the clan and outside would agree with him on that. They had gone from a once powerful well renowned clan to a bunch of arrogant pricks. Even his parents blindly follow the ideals and orders given by their foolish patriarch. But no matter how far the Akari have fallen he will always consider them his family. He realized that he was nearing the library and just as he made it through the door the rain began to fall much harder. Glad to be out of the wet weather Kosuke removed his now drenched hood and ran a hand through his unruly black mane. The librarian bid him hello and asked if he needed anything. He told her that he was looking for the jutsu scrolls and she asked to see his I.D. card and headband. After all the formalities were out of the way she directed him to what appeared to be a torii gate in the back of the room. It was red with lanterns hung around it, the strangest thing was that it was flush against the wall and would appear to most as just a decoration, but to a ninja it was a gateway to the jutsu section of the library.
If one thought the regular two story library was large then what he found through this doorway was enormous. It was a 3 story room that was twice as large as the regular civilian library. This area had various subjects that spanned from jutsu, to history, all the way to inter-clan politics. He was currently only interested in the jutsu part so he made his way to the third floor. After arriving he looked around at all the different sub categories that were connected to this. From Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and Taijutsu all the way to Space/Time and Fuuinjutsu. He did have an interest in learning some more about Space/Time Ninjutsu he would have to check on that later. He made his way into the Ninjutsu room and found it had even more sections in it, all five elements and a Chakra theory section along with non-elemental sections. He headed into the closest non-elemental section to see what these could be like.
The first book he pulled out was something called the Hari Jizo, it had something to do with using your hair as a defense mechanism. It didn’t really stand out to Kosuke but the scroll that fell out after he put it back caught his eye. It was about a foot long and had golden prongs to hold onto that had extravagant markings all over it. As he opened it the first thing that caught his eye was the name of the jutsu, the Shadow Clone technique. After reading this he was half tempted to put the scroll back down and forget it because the only clone technique he had heard of was the regular clone technique and it was useless. But, he kept reading and found that this technique was B-ranked and allowed the user to create up to two solid clones of themselves that were capable of aiding you in combat. This caught Kosuke’s eye, having a B-ranked jutsu in his arsenal was sure to help him out in the long run, so he put the scroll in his sleeve and Kept looking around for some ideas on other possible jutsu. He saw a couple that caught his eye but in the end decided to go check out the one jutsu for today.
As he made his way back down the stairs he found himself actually getting exited. This was the first jutsu he was learning that didn’t come from that stupid encyclopedia book. And to add to that it was a fairly high rank! He was almost jumping with anticipation! Almost. He was still and Akari and as much as he hated to admit it his mental conditioning from when he was a child still showed and as such he refrained from running off to the training grounds to begin. As he approached the gateway he formed the seal of confrontation with a quick burst of chakra and the doorway opened and then shut back as he made his way through. He took the scroll to the librarian and checked it out and then he was off, walking at a slightly brisk pace towards the training ground. He didn’t want to expend too much energy before he started this jutsu. He was so excited that he didn’t even notice that it had stopped raining and the sun was coming out.
He walked to the center of the field and began to read the more specific areas of the scroll. It said you had to gather your chakra and form a seal he had never seen before. So he gathered chakra and made the seal. When he let the chakra go there was a poof of smoke next to him but inside of it was nothing. Kosuke sighed, this was going to be a long day. He decided to try again with more chakra this time. He formed that strange cross-shaped hand sign and there was another poof, this time a sickly looking clone was out that was lying on its stomach presumably “dead”. This frustrated Kosuke, he knew it was a high ranked jutsu but this was ridiculous! Once more he tried and failed before he decided to use as much chakra as he could muster. With a flick of the wrist and one hand seal, POOF! Across from Kosuke was… Kosuke. Now one might say that looking at yourself in the mirror is vanity, but looking at yourself in person is insanity.
Looking at the clone he decided to test it out. “Hey, can you talk?” he queried his interest fully piqued. The clone looked at him and responded, “Can you?” in an extremely sarcastic tone. That is when Kosuke decided he had enough and launched a punch at the clone which was caught. Then he realized, this was him. This was SOLID. This was… PERFECT! His mine began to torpedo through all of the different training implications this technique had! Its potential was limitless! He began to engage his clone in a speedy Taijutsu brawl which was amazing to Kosuke, he was seeing his own flaws and was fighting an opponent who was at exactly his level. Then his clone began to do hand signs that he recognized. He flew through the same set and all of a sudden two raging fireballs flew towards each other meeting in the middle in a large explosion.
Kosuke dashed through the smoke to hit his opponent in the throat with a hearty punch followed by a spinning kick to the top of the head sending his poor clone face first into the earth. This resulted in an explosion of smoke and when Kosuke looked down the clone was gone without a trace. Kosuke decided now would be a good time for a break and made his way over to the shade of a tree and began to munch on an apple. The possible applications of this Shadow Clone technique was making Kosuke’s mind work insanely fast. From collaboration jutsu to surprise attacks this was one hell of a jutsu! He just needed to refine his own usage of it and the conjunctions he could use it as. He finished his apple and stood and began to stretch, this was going to be an intense training day. He formed the hand seal again and focused the chakra and added more, almost like a funnel. Then a resounding two puffs of smoke later and there were three Kosuke’s in the clearing. They each knew what to do they nodded and jumped about five meters back from one another. The original made the first move, blurring towards the clone to his left whilst throwing a kunai at the clone to his right. He hit the clone he was running at with enough force to knock it into the air. He then used the other clone who had ran at him as a stool to launch himself above the airborne clone. He did a front flip ending in a heel smash to the head immediately dispelling the clone. Then as he fell he did quick hand signs and out of his mouth came a small stream of fire setting the clone alight. It thrashed around before in a puff of smoke it was gone.
That spar had definitely tired him out, he knew that he had gotten the technique to an at least usable level, so now all he had to do was learn to become one with it. He began to focus on WHERE he wanted the clone to appear. He did the seal, but this time he focused on a specific point two meters away to his right. And after the required chakra release, PUFF! A clone appeared about a foot off of where he wanted. He then tried to will the new clone away and then POP! It was gone as quickly as it arrived. He then decided to spar the clone again. He formed the cross and POP! Two more clones appeared and they began to spar. This went on for about an hour of him making more clones to replace the ones he was dispelling. He threw a kunai through the neck of the last clone before he himself fell to the ground exhausted. He wiped the sweat from his brow and drank some water as he began to ponder on what else the clones could help him with. He decided to Take a break from sparring and just work on throwing kunai and shuriken. He made a clone about two meters away and decided to have it run around at half speed and have him try to hit it.
The clone was blurring around the field jumping in and out of trees, doing aerial acrobatics, doing anything it could to avoid the kunai that were speeding towards it. Kosuke took out three more and after a moments preparation in his head he let them fly one jabbing into a tree right after the clone jumped, one narrowly missing the clones right thigh, and finally the last one making contact with the clones heart. After a quick puff of smoke the clone was gone and Kosuke had improved his accuracy greatly. He knew that these clones could definitely help him in his training both now and in the future. Now, Kosuke knew that with these clones helping with his training that he could definitely improve enough to take on the chuunin exams soon! This revelation filled him with excitement and he made two more clones. These were to attack him while he could only defend, evade and counter. The first clone threw a sucker punch that was ducked and followed by a stout uppercut. This clone went poof immediately. The other clone however seemed to think and threw two kunai at Kosuke that he avoided by turning his body sideways only when he looked back at the clone did he see the foot headed for his face.
This kick sent him careening backwards toward the trunk of a rather thick tree. He back flipped and landed on his feet on the side of the tree and used it as a springboard to kick off towards the clone. After he reached the clone who had run at him also the two started with a Taijutsu bout that was a flurry of punches and kicks. It ended with Kosuke being thrown back again and looking this time he saw the clone doing hand signs. This time Kosuke was ready for the surprise and he ran through the same signs. This resulted in two fireballs meeting and exploding violently in the middle of the field. He then noticed after the smoke had cleared that the clone was nowhere to be found. His mind ran through all the various places he himself would hide as, well, he WAS his own opponent. He heard a slight sound from above and looked up to see his clone coming down with a hard hammer kick. He met this with his own forearm. He grimaced from the force of the kick but held strong. He used the clone’s momentary shock to grab its ankle and use the momentum and leverage to throw it across the field.
He then ran through hand signs so fast even he was having a hard time keeping up. Then out of his mouth flew a two-meter fireball that was speeding towards the dazed and downed clone. The clone didn’t have time to react as the fireball hit and threw it back into a tree before exploding. Kosuke panted and smirked to himself. This was proving to be his most fruitful training yet. He formed the now all too familiar seal but before he could mold any chakra he was hit with a HUGE migraine as his brain was flooded with all the different times he had defeated a clone, most of them making him cringe. He then realized that he was seeing the clone’s memories and that he could use this to his advantage.
Kosuke created two more clones and had one of them watch as he sparred with the other clone. The two of them were merely blurs to most civilians, throwing snap punches and jarring kicks while the other clone was having no trouble keeping up. Kosuke landed panting across from his clone, about five meters between them. He ran his right hand through his messy charcoal hair as his left reached for his kunai pouch. He snatched a kunai and threw it, as soon as it left his hand his right hand went into his other pouch and withdrew 4 shuriken that were thrown as more of a distraction for the fireball that followed. The clone had little time to react as when he dodged the kunai and deflected the shuriken, he barely registered the blazing ball of heat before he was struck into a massive explosion.
After he knew the clone was defeated, though he himself somehow knowing what the wrong end of a fireball looked like, he dismissed the other clone. He then noticed things he messed up, things he did right, things he could have done to end the fight quicker and he memorized them as he pushed himself to use this knowledge to get better. As he thought of things he could improve, one thing stood out above all the rest. Speed. He was possibly the slowest Genin in all of Konoha as far as he was concerned. He knew that he needed to get faster. Boost his reaction time and the speed upon which he could react. Because it doesn’t matter how fast he can register a threat if he can’t get out of the way in time. So he created a clone and had it throw kunai at him while he just dodged or deflected with his own kunai.
It was going good, he only had a few cuts, though his body was littered with cuts and bruises from the sheer intensity of his training today. He was seeing a pattern in his own throwing that he knew a more experienced shinobi could exploit. So, he dispelled the clone and created a new one that had his knowledge of what to do. It began to randomize the speed and force it used on the kunai as well as using some as a mere distraction for a more powerful throw. He could tell that he was getting better at maneuvering and plain detecting the kunai as he was better able to process the speed at which they were moving with every single toss. Then he was cut from his thoughts as a kunai whizzed past his face and cut a few of his hairs. He then, out of pure instinct threw a kunai at the clone surprising it and managing to dispel it in a single blow. Kosuke decided to sit down and look through the jutsu encyclopedia while he took a slight break from training.
As he looked through the many jutsu, he began to think of getting something more supplementary, rather than offensive. He knew that with his clones he was becoming a force to be reckoned with and that if he continued to train then he might could take on the chuunin exams sooner rather than later. Kosuke was cut from his musings as he reminded himself to stay on task and look at the book. He found the perfect jutsu to learn. The Body Flicker. It was the perfect quick fix to his speed problem! He read that it was a D-ranked jutsu and that it allowed the user to move at blindingly fast speeds and allowed for the user to instantaneously build momentum as if they had started at max speed.
He read that it required the Ram seal and then a burst of chakra through his entire body. He did this and then focused on a spot two meters ahead of him and in a blur of speed he was there. He was amazed at the implications of this technique as it could give him an advantage over faster opponents who had misjudged his speed. He tried again this time trying to go farther, 10 meters ahead. This time however, the quick movement tripped him up and he went crashing into a tree. This left him slightly dazed as he stared into the sky trying to get his brain unlogged. He then stood and created two clones and had them to work on the same technique and each time one got it right it was to dispel. And just like that there were three Kosuke’s blurring around the field. After a couple minutes and a POP! The original Kosuke stopped, one of the clones had dispelled and had realized that if he focused his fire chakra through his body that he could make the transition in a burst of fire rather than speed.
This however cool, did not interest him as much as the fact that he now knew just how to focus his chakra. He began doing what the clone had learned, disappearing in a sudden burst of speed only to reappear an instant later 20 meters away. He now knew the implications and the focus needed just to pull off this technique out of combat, much less in combat. That said he decided to try to spar using this technique. He and his other clone faced each other and both formed the ram seal before vanishing, Reappearing with a fist connected to the other’s face. This, in turn, sent the clone and Kosuke careening backwards into a tree and the pond respectively. The tree ended the clone’s existence pretty quickly and Kosuke climbed out of the water soaking wet but grinning.
Kosuke usually doesn’t grin. When he does, either he has a great deal of respect for you, he just learned a really cool jutsu, or he is pissed. This is the second instance. He knew now, from the dull ache in his arm that trying to use this technique in combat as anything other than perhaps evasion, could have disastrous effects on himself. He could have potentially broken his own arm with that move, so he decided to hold off on that until a later date when he could really put all his time and effort into working it into his fighting style. He knew though that having the clones could help him to see flaws in himself and improve even so. Kosuke walked onto the pond and closed his eyes before creating the cross seal and two poofs later he wasn’t alone on the water.
The pond was crystal clear and totally calm and almost motionless. That is, until Kosuke preformed the ram seal flickering in between his clones catching both by surprise before preforming a spinning roundhouse sending both to the shoreline. This was followed by a raging fireball that exploded to reveal… nothing. Both clones had managed to make use of the body flicker to dodge the oncoming attack and Kosuke was wondering where they were until he felt a kick on his back and saw a blur ahead of him. He raised is arms into a cross and blocked the oncoming punch thrusting back throwing the clone off guard before the flicked a kunai into its throat. POP! One down one to go, Kosuke whipped around before forming the Ram seal and appearing right behind the clone only for it to jump away and throw two kunai. One of which Kosuke caught, the other was lodged into the trunk of a tree.

He tossed the caught kunai into the air as a distraction before flickering next to the clone and issuing a devastating punch to its gut followed by an elbow to its hunched over head. Sending it crashing to the ground face first. Kosuke then took out a kunai to block the flurry of shuriken that came his way after the clone had righted itself. Then he was forced on the defensive as the clone flickered into view right in front of him causing him to backpedal away. He then threw his kunai and formed the ram seal. He appeared half crouched just entering the process of a leg sweep. He knew the clone would lean off balance to dodge the surprise kunai and used this to his advantage by putting it more off balance. As it hit the ground he lodged a kunai into its throat and it dispelled in a burst of smoke. He was proud of himself for spending this whole day learning two new jutsu and bettering himself so much. He had come so far since his days as an academy student and it wouldn’t be long before he awakened his Kekkei Genkai and began to learn clan techniques. Because while he didn’t agree on most of his clans ideals, he did love them as family and knew he had to do everything in his power to protect them and set an example for them to follow that they didn’t need the ideals of a flawed leader. They just needed determination and hard work. He began to pack his things up as he thought of how he would use these new techniques to better serve his village and better protect his family. When he finally made it home he collapsed onto his bed and was immediately in a dreamless sleep due to exhaustion and overexertion. [exit]
