Homework of a kind (Training)
Fri Mar 11, 2016 3:28 pm
Togi moved around the small building that had become his home since moving to Suna with practiced ease. He had memorised every inch of the building so much so that he could move around with his eyes closed which was rather fortunate for the blind academy student. A couple of pots were currently boiling on the small stove one filled with vegetables and the other with rice. Togi however currently sat on a small rickety chair next to a small wooden table that was filled with scrolls. These scrolls were all written in Braille and the blind Hyuuga was running his finger over the tiny little dots. While Togi had brought home some homework from the academy (though he was trying to put off starting work on the political essay) these scrolls were all on medicine and medical jutsu a field that Togi hoped to go in to. While the majority of the texts were on the human body and physiology a few were jutsus that the young Hyuuga hoped to learn. Out of these only one Togi considered himself currently ready to learn.
Thinking over the last few passages he had just read Togi made his way over to the stove and took the pans of the heat before extinguishing the flame. Togi then quickly served up a portion of rice and vegetables though in doing so the skin of his thumb accidently made contact with the metal of the pan burning him.
"Ow ow owwww" Togi howled dumping the empty pan in the sink before rushing over to the table. 'Now is as good as time as any to try that jutsu that I have been learning....' Togi thought to himself as he quickly ran his finger over the last scroll that he had been reading. 'Ok so it is Boar, Rat then snake. Focus the chakra to your hands converting it to medical chakra as you release it allowing it to passively pass in to the injured area speeding up the healing proces' Togi summarised to himself.
Taking a deep breath Togi then began to repeatedly run through the handseals without using chakra as he always did when he learnt a new jutsu. "Boar, Rat, Snake. Boar, Rat Snake. Boar, Rat Snake" Togi recited while repeating the hand seals and wincing slightly. "Ow that stings..." Togi then added with a frown due to the fact that the burnt skin on his thumb had rubbed while he was practicing the jutsu.
Confident that he knew and could perform the hand seals Togi then ran through it one final time this time moulding and channelling his chakra. The burn however got in the way once again and his hand seal formation was not perfect and the chakra that he released from his hands came out far to violently and certainly was not medical chakra being more of a vivid blue rather than the gentle green that it usually was. Togi shuddered slightly at the thought of this, Togi knew how damaging raw chakra could be to the human body he was after all a practitioner of the gentle fist so he knew well that he must concentrate and not allow raw chakra to be expelled when trying to use a medical jutsu.
Taking a few deep breaths to calm himself Togi focussed on what he was doing and attempted to mentally block out the small annoying pain that the burn was causing. It after all was not that painful it was just distracting and awkwardly located for forming hand seals. Trying once again Togi carefully and successfully formed the three required seals. This time the chakra that was released came out much more gently. With his chakra senses activated Togi noted now differently medical chakra appeared to him. Not only was the chakra a completely different colour being a rather light green almost aquamarine but it felt softer and less substantial. If normal chakra was a liquid then medical chakra felt like the equivalent of a gas. The human body seemed to have absolutely no resistance to medical chakra and as Togi moved his hand over his burnt thumb he watched with interest how the medical chakra drifted in to his hand and began to coalesce at the injury as if drawn by a magnet. Togi instantly felt a sense of relief as the medical chakra and the chakra already in his thumb seemed to dance in synchronisation with other. In a matter of minutes the burn was completely gone as though it had never been there in the first place.
”Wow that worked!” Togi declared with a smile ”Though if I want to make a real difference in the field I am going to have to learn a stronger healing jutsu than that” Togi declared as he made his way over to the countertop where his dinner waited slightly forgotten about. ”I wonder if they will let me volunteer at the hospital to gain some more experience…” Togi commented to himself. Picking up the plate and a pair of chopsticks he made his way back to the table and sat down. Lightly picking at the food with one hand Togi returned to running the finger tip of the other hand over the Braille and reading the scroll.
