The need for speed...

As a young child Togirama Hyuuga had always been well aware of his weaknesses, growing up as the pariah of the Hyuuga clan if he did not identify his weaknesses for himself than surely someone within the clan would identify them for him and berate him about it. No what Togi found more difficult was to identify his strengths. Though the young Hyuuga did possess many strengths it had been drilled in to his head that he was nothing special so Togi often saw his abilities as what was expected of him as a ninja and therefore Togi did not realise when he excelled at something.
 
Togi for example had incredibly good chakra control and he could manipulate his chakra with fine precision. The clan's influence however had led him to believe that such control was to be expected of a Hyuuga and that the level of control was hereditary. Since coming to Suna however Togi had begun to re-evaluate these beliefs. He had seen first hand at the academy that few had the level of chakra control that he possessed at such a young age. Since studying at the academy and graduating as a Genin Togi's skill had started to an increase by leaps and bounds, this improvement had been so fast in fact the young Hyuuga had not truly comprehended that it had happened. Togi had however slowly begun to notice changes, for example just the other day when a patient in the hospital had been about to collapse Togi had been able to reach him in an instant something that he certainly wouldn't have been able to do a year ago. He had also noticed that when sparring he was able to move a lot quicker than some of his peers... unless ofcourse they had been holding back which ofcourse was a possibility. This had started Togi thinking, he knew that physically he wasn't as strong as some of his peers but perhaps he could make up for this deficit in strength with his speed. Togi had therefore decided to dedicate today's training to increasing his speed.
 
Togi now stood to the side of one of Sunagakure's many training ground, this training ground in particular was filled with a long row of training logs though Togi had no intention of practicing his taijutsu on these logs today or infact any other form of attack for that matter. No for today the logs would serve as obstacle the young Hyuuga planned to weave in and out of the logs as he ran back and forth. "Ok today is all about speed but speed is of no use if you can’t control it...' Togi silently thought to himself as he let his chakra senses wash out over the training ground and he picked out the route that he would take. "Three, two, one, go!' Togi then thought to himself as he took a deep breath. A look of determination then spread across the young Hyuuga's face as his right foot pushed back kicking up a small cloud of sand and dust as he charged towards the training posts at a respectable speed (speed 25). Weaving back and forth Togi picked his way between the logs as he raced towards the end of the training ground. Togi however intended to really push himself today and by the time he reached the last log he had picked up quite a bit of speed and when he weaved his way between the logs on the way back he was already moving a lot faster (speed 50). Moving  as fast as he could manage Togi began to find the simple act of avoiding the logs quite difficult and and quite a few occasions he came close to running in to the log.
 
'I need to do better than this... if these were enemy ninja it would not do well to run straight in to the point of their blades...' Togi berated himself. It seems that Togi did not even need the clan elders present for there to be some one to berate him about his abilities. 'Ok I need to focus on where I'm going and then move...' Togi added as he charged back once again. Weaving in and out of the logs once again Togi began to feel the sweat form on his brow due to the heat of the desert bearing down on him but the young Hyuuga was determined not to slow the pace and he charged back and forth several more times until he could physically not keep up the pace any longer and he skidded to a stop kicking up another cloud of sand before he hunched over leaning on his knees for support as he began to pant attempting to catch his breath.
 
'Did I do any good?' Togi wondered to himself as pulled a water canteen free from his belt carefully uncorked it and took deep thirst quenching gulp. Several large gulps later. Finally pulling the canteen back from his lips Togi then let out a gasp of relief. "Time to see if I can achieve some real speed..." Togi then declared as he reached in to his robe and pulled out a small scroll. Taking a seat upon the ground Togi then unrolled the scroll and carefully read over the contents that he had written in chakra laced ink. The scroll contained notes on a particular jutsu that Togi had copied down from the village library. "The body flicker technique, a technique that involves speeding up the body through increasing the chakra flow through the entire body..." Togi recited as he read over his notes. "Just one hand seal should be simple enough" Togi then declared after he had read over everything. The young Hyuuga then carefully rolled the scroll back up before tucking it away once again.
 
Standing back up Togi brought his hands together and formed the Ram  hand seal. 'Mould your chakra, gather it then flood it throughout your entire system then move....' Togi silently recited as he began to build up his chakra. Once he felt that it had built up to a sufficient level Togi channelled his chakra outward spreading out to his finger tips and the tips of his toes. With his body practically humming with chakra Togi then surged forwards in a burst of speed. Togi moved a lot faster than he had ever moved before so much so that he had trouble controlling his movements. Unable to stop himself Togi ploughed straight in to one of the training logs flipping himself over and somersaulting several times before falling flat on his back and knocking the wind out of his lungs.
 
"Eughhh what hit me?" Togi groaned out "Is Yoshi-chan here with her water canteen..." the young Hyuuga mumbled incoherently as he struggled back to his feet."Let's try that again I can do better!" Togi declared as he clapped his hands back together and formed the Ram seal once again. This time Togi flushed his entire body with chakra a lot quicker. "Focus not just on the destination but the path there aswell..." Togi said to himself before bursting forwards once again. This time Togi was able to better control himself and managed to reach the end of the training ground and avoid colliding with the training posts. "Yazzah!" Togi cried as he skidded to a stop.
 

Smiling to himself Togi was pleased that he had now performed the jutsu successfully atleast once and now he felt all that he needed was further practice. Clapping his hands back together Togi formed the ram seal for a third time and flooded his system with chakra. "Yazzah!" Togi then cried as he sped off from the training ground and began to speed round the village.
