A dark angel (private, me and mason)

Chiyo was sitting alone on a bench. She was watching children play, marveling at their ability to still laugh and have fun, especially knowing she was around. She smiled, though her smile was a sad one. She had not been able to run and play like this as a child. She had been being trained by her father to one day lead her clan. The symbol on her jacket was torn, because chiyo couldn't afford a new clan jacket.

Mason had been walking around Konoha for a few hours by now, he had been looking for a single reason for him to keep his ambitious and he had found none. No acts of kindness, nothing at all. He had crossed someone sitting by themselves on a bench, they had a smile on their face, but if you knew emotions even a little you'd know it was a fake smile. He saw that her jacket wasn't in the best of shape. He didn't usually get into others business, but he couldn't expect other people to be nice if he didn't show an act of kindness as well.

Mason was 12 but could easily pass as an 17 year old, he had black hair that was usually messy, but was kept out of his eyes by his konoha fore head protector. He had a pale white skin tone, he stood at 5'8, his left eye color was black, the left one grey, he had a small scar running from the bottom left corner of his lip down towards the edge of his chin. He had a black t-shirt with the Uchiha insignia on his back and on the front on the area were his heart was, he also had a pair of black cargo shorts, and black sandals.

Mason with a serene look on his face walked slowly towards the bench and sat about a half meter to the girls left. He put an not overly kind, but caring facial expression on, and with his most calming voice he asked "You look upset would you like to talk? You don't know me, but I would like to help a fellow down soul up.". he turned his head to try and look at her, if she looked back at him, she might be able to tell by his stare that he was having trouble in his life.

"fellow down soul? do you even know what ive gone through? my soul went to hell a long time ago." says chiyo. her eyes were twin icy flames burning in an abyss of sorrow and rage. she was NOT in the best of moods. in fact, she was terrified and angry both. she knew she had to protect her cousin from her own brother and sister, but she doubted she was strong enough to protect him.

Mason watched as she started to glare at him. He looked into her eyes, he wasn't afraid, he was puzzled. He has never met a person who was so upset about an act of kindness. He chose his words wisely hoping not to piss her off even more. "I have no idea what you've gone through, in fact I've never seen you before, but now you have interested me. Would you happen to need help with anything though? You look,,,,, upset, and I'd really like to help you." Mason would say with a very melodious voice. He lowered his head before raising it again. With a look that could disarm, the meanest of people. He'd start twittling with his thumbs waiting, and hoping that he wouldn't get yelled at.

"I'm sorry... It's just... I recently lost my sensei, and it reminded me of watching my clan be murdered by my own older siblings when i was 9... Now i've found out that one person survived, and he's the only reason my clan's destiny isn't taking place right now. Austin is the only person who can help me save myself from my own bloody destiny, therefore i must protect him." Said chiyo, her icy eyes fixed on mason. her eyes were full of raw agony, pain, and unspeakable suffering.

Mason pondered for a minute or two trying to figure out what to say without being a condescending ass hole. "You should be glad that you have someone to protect, and love.... I've lost everything. I would give anything to feel that way again, to have a purpose." Mason has a slight shakiness in his voice. He's never said it aloud, it was him finally recognizing that they died, and it was all his fault, for not being powerful enough to stop it. His smile sagged down and became a slight frown. He closed his eyes, and tried to summon a lie of an face. He looked back at her and said "Sorry, I might have gotten a bit to personal there." Mason said his voice stabilized.

"You've lost people you loved too? I'm so sorry... It feels awful, dosen't it? Blaming yourself gets you nowhere, though." Chiyo was interested by this boy, who had suffered like she had. "I bet you aren't attacked on a daily basis by other ninja who are supposed to be your comrades though..." Chiyo moved her hair out of her face to reveal two black eyes, bruises on her jawline, and a split lip. Her eyes were blazing now, cold flames, threatening to consume her.

Mason was still looking at her, he had been trying to suppress his emotions, but it was just so hard to do. He felt sorry for the girl, but it sounded so bad to tell someone your sorry about something that you didn't do. "It does feel awful, but without suffering we wouldn't get stronger." Mason said with a lack of emotion in his voice. He had put that same phrase through his mind, trying not to feel sorry for himself. "Those aren't your comrades, those are scum. Those who would prey on someone weaker than them are petty and weak, and deserve destruction. You need to do something about it, I know it sounds bad to say, but its the truth. I doubt you will think of me in any other way than as a random stranger, but if there is anything you take away from this meeting is that people who would prey on those weaker than them are scum, and will get what is coming to them, maybe they will be un-lucky enough to face me in battle some day." Mason would say chuckling after the last part, he wouldn't mind getting rid of people that are scum.

"I'm not weaker than them! I choose not to fight back." Exclaimed chiyo, eyes still blazing. The look in her eyes was one of contempt for her comrades, rage towards her brother and sister, hatred for the akatsuki... and ... love? Heartbrokeness was certainly to be excpected, anger, hatred and contempt as well, but... love? Chiyo was certainly a mystery. A mystery that would punch Mason very hard if he pissed her off, which was likely to happen soon, the way he was acting... Chiyo couldn't stand people like him sometimes

Mason could see that he hit a touchy subject with her, he decided to cool it just a little bit. "Why would you choose not to fight back, if they harm you? It makes absolutely no sense to me, and I'd really like to know why." He said showing very to no emotion in his facial expression.
