Training in the woods 2
Tue Sep 13, 2016 1:27 pm
Haru's arms ached a little after spending the morning sweeping the sand and carrying the filled sacks around the village. Since he had chosen to skip training in the morning Haru felt it was best to make up for the lost time in the evening. As the sun began to sink lower in the sky the humidity reduced a little and the mist became a little cooler as he ran through the tree tops being careful not to disturb the leaves or branches to leave as little trace as possible. The grass glittered with moisture and a small track of hoof prints were visible. Haru stopped for moment and concluded it was a young doe before he continued on his way. As much as the boy would love to stop and hunt he knew he had to train and that deer were not very common on the islands. Haru would wait have to wait a few years to let them build up the population before he could hunt them again.
He arrived at his training area and ran swiftly up the tree and into the dome of large twisted branches that sheltered him from the wind and rain but as everywhere in Kirigakure, it couldn't keep out the mist. Haru decided to move straight into technique training in order to save time and the work earlier had been enough of a physical work out. haru began throwing shuriken for a warm up, with each throw he increased the power and speed until he reached the maximum strength and speed before the accuracy would begin to decline. After he was properly warmed up, Haru began throwing two shuriken at once with one hand and then 3 with one hand before throwing 3 with one hand followed by 2 with the other. Accuracy was certainly an issue with the occasional mid air clash resorting in sparks and wild ricochets. Haru collected the shuriken and decided to practice the technique that Hinoki had demonstrated. Haru sat in the branches at the top of the dome shaped space and flicked through the jutsu encyclopedia he had bought a few days earlier until he found the technique he was looking for.
He found the shadow shuriken technique and studied the description and instructions. After analyzing the diagram Haru realized that the technique in the book displayed a slightly different hand hold for throwing the shuriken in a way that allows the second to accelerate in the slipstream created by the first. Haru read the passage several more times until he was certain that he understood the theory. The first few attempts were sloppy but a few subtle adjustments allow him to perform the technique with much more accuracy than he had been able to previously attain. Haru spent the next hour practicing the technique with varying degree of success but was happy with his performance overall and decided to move onto the next stage of the technique. Haru placed the book back in his jacket pocket and left the training area before using chakra control to slide down the tree trunk and set off into a deeper part of the forest to resume his training.
Haru stopped in a small clearing and focused his senses on the surrounding area. Satisfied that there were no living creatures within a 35 meter radius Haru pulled out two shuriken and infused them with his chakra and activating the Wind Release: Chakra Blade. Haru could feel the wind chakra waiting to be released and he cast the shuriken in a wide arc aiming at a large tree. as the shuriken left his hands they began to glow and a moment later the familiar high pitched whine struck a chord in his ears as the shuriken became surrounded by a spinning halo of wind. As intended the shuriken cut large gouges out of the tree without cutting deep enough to kill the tree, unfortunately Haru had not predicted that the shuriken would continue its path with the technique still active and carved straight through a nearby tree slicing neatly through the trunk. Haru winced as he waited for the tree to fall but the close proximity of the other trees somehow managed to support its weight.
Haru went looking for the shuriken and found them half buried in the dirt a few meters behind the nearly felled tree. He gave them a wipe and replaced them before returning to the small clearing and began reading his encyclopedic once more. Another technique Haru had been working on was Flicker Movement. Haru had began practicing the latest combination he had been working on recently. The combination had been demonstrated before when he trained at the academy though Hinoki had been asleep at the time and missed it. the first step of the technique was to throw 1 kunai at the target and one high in the air. the first kunai acts as a distraction whilst the second his hit with a third kunai angling the second towards the target from a higher angle. Haru would then dash to the third kunai and use it to make a melee strike on the target. the technique relied on using the first two attacks as distractions and using the melee strike to strike a killing blow.
Each time Haru practiced the combination he focused on trying to use the flicker movement by attempting to use his chakra to manipulate his own sense of time, so far he had been using his clan ability to aid him with adrenaline but haru did not want this ability to be discovered and so chose to train a similar technique. Each time he began the combination he tried to slow his personal time a little more and make it a last a second longer than before. several attempts had him lying on his back on the wet grass panting. one of the biggest drawback with the technique was that attempting to breath with the increase in speed could cause him to become winded and therefore make him physically freeze up. unfortunately using the technique many times in a short time frame caused dizziness and headaches that Haru had not yet adjusted too. Haru regained his breathing and continued training before consulting the encyclopedia briefly. According to the encyclopedia haru should be leaving faint afterimages behind him as he moved. he was sure that he was doing it right but had no way of confirming whether it appeared correct without someone else watching. he sighed as he realized he would have to wait until he got home.
The light was beginning to fade as Haru began his finally technique practice. The technique he had in mind was not in the encyclopedia but he had found it mentioned in an old book in the attic. The technique involved sealing of the opponents movements using a chain to wrap and bind them leaving them vulnerable to further attack. Haru realized that the technique had multiple applications that could be used in both capture and kill missions and could be trained whilst hunting, which was a perosnal bonus for the young genin. The kama slid smoothly from its oiled sheath and haru held the comfortable and familiar weight in his opposite hand and gave it a few practice swings. Haru threw a plank in the air and cast the weight end to curve around the wood hopefully wrapping it in the chain. The weight of the chain simply pushed the plank away and Haru watched as the plank simply fell onto the wet grass. after a few more tries it was obvious that he would either need a more stable target or to use it on a living creature. testing it on a tree trunk would be too easy and he needed to be able to use the technique on moving targets. haru decided to try a different approach and tried moving closer to the target whilst throwing loops of chain other the plank rather than relying on the wrapping of the chain alone. This time Haru made the loops to large and the plank simply slipped through. haru continued training different variations and made some progress but realized that using an in-animate plank simply wasn't good enough training.
Haru buried his annoyance and headed home despite the urge to chase after those deer tracks and practice his chain technique. His mother would worry if he stayed out too late and he realized he hadn't eaten all day. The journey back was nice and it was dark by the time he got home and the village began to get a little quieter which was a small relief to Haru but if not for his mother he was certain he would imply live in the woods.

I need to know how many words are going towards each tech. Right now your training exceeds your wc the way I'm reading it so please only list how many words are going towards which tech. <3
