Training the Academy Justu
Fri Oct 14, 2016 2:51 am
Inside the academy, Klick was staring outside the window. Everyone had left the room hours ago, to include the teacher, giving the kid a quiet view of his favorite sight. She sighed as the sand dunes slowly melted in the wind. He knew he had procrastinated way to long. His genin test coming up and he still had to master the two jutsu on the test. Peeling his eyes away from the sands, he walked back to his seat and pulled out his ninja handbook.
The first on the list was the Clone jutsu. He made sure to take beautiful notes that would accuracy describe the jutsu. Reading line by line to refresh his memory of the technique, he had been practicing for a few weeks now and managed to make something but it was nowhere near his standards. Today would be different. Today his clones would be true art worthy of his future legend. Placing his hands together, he began to weave the hand signs. The first hand sign was ram. He took a deep breath and focused on his chakra. He felt the energy surge through his body as he began his next hand sign, snake. The excited chakra covered his body to memorize his shape. Finally, he ended with tiger and released his energy. (-3 stamina)
Smoke filled the classroom hiding the formation of the jutsu. Klick grin as he waited for the jutsu to complete its magnificent form. This clone felt like it was going to be the one. He rotated his head to the left while maintaining the tiger sign. The smoke cleared but there was no clone there. He looked around the room just in case he missed placed the jutsu, if that was even possible. The clone was nowhere to be found, causing him to lower his head. However, upon looking at the ground, he noticed some super pale kid who looked like he just was just ran over by a bus and fell into a vat of bleach. "What is that!" he said while slapping his face. The clone wiggled like a fish out of the water, further bringing disgrace to his skill. He wanted to kick the clone, however he knew it would only end up hurting him in the end as his foot passed through the clone's body and struck the chair behind it.
Shaking his head, he formed another hand sign and dispelled the pathetic excuse of ninjutsu. His last clone did not even look human which meant he was improving but he just could not understand what that was. It looked so drained and weak, almost as if it had nothing to eat for years. Then it hit him. Maybe he was being too conservative with his chakra. He repeated the process. First, he made the ram sign. After focusing his chakra, he made the snake sign. After his chakra spread throughout his body, he finished it with the tiger sign. Another poof of smoke spawned and as it cleared, Klick saw true progress. (-5 stamina)
Standing in front of him was a fully fledge living breathing intangible clone. He knew it was intangible because when he tried to touch it, his hand passed through it. Best of all, it was like looking at a statue of himself. At last, all those weeks of training finally paid off. Now with that check in the box, he could work on a more beautify jutsu, the transformation jutsu.
Flipping through his ninja handbook, he read how the key to this jutsu was not only turning into someone or something else but also maintaining it. Not being sure how long he would have to hold it, he made up some arbitrary number that made sense. Holding something like that for one minute should be long enough to pass the test. He closed the book and moved to an open space in front of the chalkboard. With a goal in mind, he all he had to do was decide on something to transform into. He turned to his clone, who continued to hold its pose, hoping to find inspiration. Unable to find it in the clone he just dispelled it using the release command and turned to the chalkboard.
While it would be simple to turn into a weapon, it would be more difficult to maintain a more lifelike transformation. If he was going to go that far, he might as well do something completely different then himself. Looking around to make sure nobody was spying on him, he got a beautify idea. A grin grew on his face as he made his first and sign, boar. Visualizing the picture he wanted to imitated, he moved to the next hand symbol, dog. With his chakra flowing through his body, he made the ram symbol and activated the jutsu. (-5 Stamina)
Smokes surrounded him as his body took on its new form. His waist shorted. His hair extended to below his waist. His skin darkened to a darker shade of brown. His facial features became more round. The outfit he chose varied a little from normal but it was pretty much the same with the exception of his pants turning into shorts and a mini skirt being added. Everything else adjusted to the new body type. The final thing to change was his chest. It extended out a bit.
As the smoke cleared, Klick had turned himself into a girl. He looked down his self not surprised. Art was his specialty, so learning a jutsu like this was easily within his ability. It also helped that like the clone jutsu, he had practiced this one a few times earlier in the year. Now that he had the looks down, all he had to do was maintain it. He stood still at first as he got use to holding the chakra in place. Then he started moving around slowly. He walked up and down the steps. He got in and out of seats. Then he started jumping on tables. Surprised, he managed to hold his form.
With a grin on his face, he forgot about how short the desks were in width and accidently stepped off. He cried as he reached for something to grab but nothing could save him from the fall. Hitting the ground he was able to hold on to the transformation for about two seconds before it reverted him to his original form. After seeing the smoke disperse, he quickly jumped up to his feet and checked his body. “Darn it. I was doing so well. At least I got the aesthetics though.” It was one-step in the direction of progress and he was sure by the end of the day, he would have this technique down pack. All he had to do was practice a little more.
Again, he went through the symbols and activated the jutsu, however this time he turned in something completely different. Now he resembled a desert traveling merchant wearing an oval like white hat with cloth draping over his face. His clothes was loose and a band like material tide his shirt’s sleeves and pants to his wrist and ankles collectively. A giant basket rested on his back and a rope tied it around his waist. Seeing his disguise as a success, he started to laugh but lost control of the chakra and reverted to his normal form. His head dropped in shame from the silly mistake. He was sure he was going to need more practice now. (-5 Stamina)
Thinking back to when he first started practiced, he remembered starting as something simple. He turned into the schools signpost in the front of the building. Since he was going back to the basics, he figure he would do something similar and yet more grand. Placing his hands together, he ran through the hand signs and activated the jutsu. He did turn into an inanimate object, but this time he turned into a canvas. This was something more appealing to his style so he figured he could hold on to this transformation a lot better.
Focusing on his chakra, he maintained the transformation for a few minutes but suddenly he felt his mind losing its sharpness. He wondered what was wrong while struggling to hold the transformation. He felt like he stayed up all night and ran a marathon all at the same time. His throbbing head made it difficult to focus but it did not completely brake. He powered through until he realized what was happening. He was probably almost out of chakra.
He never had a big charka pool after all. Releasing the jutsu, he fell to the ground panting. This was his biggest weakness right now. His jutsus seemed to at an acceptable level for now so he decided to build his chakra pool the rest of the day. His notes stated that the two ways to build your chakra pool was to strength the mind and body. Since his body was pretty fit, he decided to work on his mind, as that was what was causing him to break his jutsus most of the time.
Hopping onto the desk, Klick crossed his legs. Taken a deep breath he proceeded to calm his heart, his mind, and his muscles. He had to be part of the desert and be able to feel each grain of sand that danced in the wind. He had to block out all sounds from outside his window and yet be weary of anything that could fly through. He had to be alert and yet relax. He had to be everything and yet nothing. He had to stop trying to create these silly metaphors because it took effort to make them and he was not feeling any more relax.
He took another deep breath and closed his eyes. This time he listened to the quiet in the room. At first, he could hear nothing. As the minutes went by, he picked up new sounds. First, he could hear the scraping of sand against the window. Then he could hear tapping of vultures perching on the roof. The steps of a beetle skittered underneath a desk started to echo. The next sound was the whooshing of a draft that blew into the room.
Then his other senses started to magnify. He could feel the few hairs on his arms twitch at the dust particles in the air. He could feel the warm light that peered through the window. He could detect the temperature in the room raising as more light filtered through. Then a tingling feeling invaded his nose that surpassed anything other feeling. This feeling worked its way up until Klick sneezed. It was so quick and strong that he flew back and hit his head on the back of another desk. Crying again at the throbbing at his head, he was finished with this “peace of mind.” The only thing that really put him at easy was looking at art or the desert anyway.
As the throbbing desisted, Klick decided to take the easy way out in training. Rolling over to the floor, he got on his hands and started doing pushups. While it would be more productive to master the art of having a clam mind, it was just easier to crank out a few reps of twenty pushups, sit-ups, and then 20 laps around the track. He looked outside the window as he prepared for his sit-ups. The sun was started to return to the earth so it would not belong before he could go run in the cooler weather. After finishing five reps of each, he packed up his things and made his way out side. The sun was lower, and by the time he would finish, it would be sunset. He positioned his self for his last exercise. After counting to three, he bolted off. After this run, his day would be over and could enjoy the sunset. Turning to the sun as it sunk lower towards the horizon he smiled.
