Training of an Academy Student (3)

Kaen yawned and stretched. Today was going to be another day of training, and he was still drained from the training with his friend the past weekend. He hopped out of his bed and put on his casual attire that he usually wore before stomping down the stairs. Surprisingly, his father was sitting at the table and the wonderful waft of waffles filled Kaen's nose.

"Hey dad didn't think you'd be here," Kaen said sitting down across from his dad on the small wooden round table. Kaen currently wore a white t-shirt and blue boxers. His dad was currently wearing his dull orange t-shirt with his Chunin Vest over it, signaling that he was about to leave. He had black pants that had orange linings on them, and his headband kept up his unkempt hair. He shrugged as he continued to eat his waffles, "I just felt like we had enough ryo, so I didn't have to do any more missions for a while." He casually responded with a deadpan face.

Kaen nodded slightly, agreeing with his father's claims. It wasn't technically 'their' ryo, it was his father's money and his father's to keep. After Kaen decided he wanted to become a ninja his father had told him ninjas must have their own money. Kaen instantly called bull shit as he wasn't even a Genin yet, so he couldn't take any missions.

"I've got you a present, though," His father said pulling out a small book that Kaen instantly recognized as a jutsu knowledge book. "This is for training so hard to become a great ninja, son!"

Kaen's smiled seemed to gleam in the sunshine as he opened the small book looking for the wind jutsu section. "Uh... that will cost 500 Ryo Kaen, pay up." Kaen's smile instantly vanished and he muttered incoherent curse words as he took out his wallet. His father smiled at him and left with the money going to do whatever he does. Kaen started to get back to work, and as Kaen finally flipped to the right page he started scanning for some weak jutsu that he could actually pull off. 

Ah! Wind Arrow, one of the most basic wind ninjutsu that there was. Classified as E-Rank, but thankfully what he was looking for. "I'm gonna go practice this," Kaen said jumping out from his seat and running upstairs. Grabbing his coal-black ANBU pants he slid them on before wrapping the ninja tape around his thigh. He slid on his dull-orange goggles over his head. He slid on his black jacket with the dull-orange highlighting. Putting on his iron gauntlets, he also slid on his gray backpack he used to hold his ninja stuff until he got proper equipment to hold his kunai and shuriken.

He was out the door before his neighbor's cat could even meow.

The sound of shoes clicking against the compact dirt seemed very calming to him. The warm sun shining on him as birds and crickets chirped. The beautiful sound of the waves colliding against the sand before being pulled back to its habitat.

Woodpeckers did their jobs this morning as a beautiful clicking noise - that was slightly louder - almost sounding like his shoes hitting the ground in a solid step. Kaen finally reached the training grounds that he already practiced before pulling out the Jutsu Book again. 

The description had said, '24 inch arrow with a 21-inch body, 1 inch pointed tip, and three wings that extend 2 inches past the arrow' for an exact replica of the skill. He instantly imagined the kind of arrow it would be before starting to draw his chakra and convert it into wind chakra. Suddenly a compressed ball of chakra seemed to lay in his hand.

He started to shape it, mold it, and re-arrange it. He would collapse it before trying again and doing the same exact thing. Kaen's whole goal was to try to get a good gain on his chakra control, and that's why he kept on manifesting the arrows.

As he did that in one hand Kaen's left hand held the book and his coal-black eyes started to scroll the letters again. The wind chakra would only allow him to make five arrow constructs so he wouldn't run out of the energy to create more later on. Kaen started to manifest the form faster, excited to finally get his first combat-related ninjutsu.

Collapsing it once again, he closed his small book before putting it in his jacket pocket. Putting two hands up he imagined the arrow again, but this time duplicating it in his mind. Kaen had to allow chakra to go through one vein and the others at the same time to create an arrow in both hands.

They turned out sloppy, and then started to improve slightly, and then finally constructed. Then they vanished again causing Kaen to groan. He'd read more about it later and then come back to finish the job.

He laid down in the grass falling asleep.

---------------------------------TIME SKIP: Three Hours---------------------------------

Kaen woke up with drool hanging down the side of his face. He instantly wiped it off before sitting up and instantly taking out his book. He started to read over chakra methods, wind arrows, and chakra theory. He slowly started to practice producing wind chakra, even more struggling, as he tried to get the hang of the energy.

"Wind Arrow!" Kaen screamed as he threw it out of his hand causing it to shoot at a good amount of speeds. An hour later he continued to experiment before shooting another Wind Arrow. It was getting harder to control as he made it bigger, smaller it wouldn't fly farther, just right and it was... just right! He started to make them sharper before he started to lay down again and read more.

Arrows were coming easily to him again, and he finally finished practicing them. Kaen breathed in and breathed out. His legs were slightly apart and two of his arms were held out. Chakra started to pump through his veins before he forcefully started to change it into wind chakra. Then when it reached his hands he created a Wind Arrow with both hands and threw both of them in a spiraling arc.

The hit into trees before expelling, leaving a small dent in the tree. At least something to be slightly proud of. It seemed that even with all that power his chakra wasn't good enough. Kaen just smirked before he ran towards the lake and started to do more Water Walking Techniques, and then Wind Arrows at the same time. For one more test, he put up posts with red targets painted on them before aiming from certain distances trying to get the right amount of range. He even went back out to the water to try shooting the arrows and had ended up swimming again; just for fun.

He spun around in circles, practicing the Academy Style Taijutsu. He started to practice everything he had done in the last few weeks. Clone, Transformation, Discipline, and Kenjutsu: Spanking. It seemed as if his skills were pretty solid to graduate.

Kaen thought before he did graduate he would help Chisana train before they took the exam on the same day, as friends! It would be worth it. When Kaen's chakra depleted to a level that was good enough for him to rush home and sleep he stopped. Today was a good training day, that was for sure. Kaen started jogging home ignoring the sweat rolling down his forehead and only focusing on one thought.

He was ready to graduate, and he was going to do it easily.
