A New Student
Sun Jan 01, 2017 1:14 pm
Senshi returned to the training grounds, at his usual early hour of four am intent on furthering his skills with the Medical Ninjutsu that he knew. He had put in quite a bit of training lately on new techniques but had not returned to his basics to master some of the easier techniques that he had in his arsenal. Currently he only had two techniques mastered, the Raiton Kunai Cutter and the Genjutsu release. He had mastered them so that he would not need to use hand seals with them, but had not furthered his ability in anything else. As such he knew that the most basic medical technique would be another good technique to master. If he could make it so that he didn’t need to use hand seals then basic scrapes and bruises would not bother him at all. Plus he would be able to accelerate the healing of deepers cuts by helping the blood clot faster.
It was just that he needed to be able to use the technique instinctively, which meant that he would be spending the next several hours cutting himself and rehealing those wounds until he felt he could do it without the hand seals. He gave a sigh as he sat down laying Bastuodosodo next to him and drawing a kunai from his pouch. On his left lay his large bastard sword, while on his right his bag with his breakfast and lunch in it sat next to him. With a quick motion he made a shallow cut on his fore arm watching as it trailed a lazy amount of blood down his arm. He quickly formed the hand seals, Boar, then rat, and finally ending on snake watching as his hands lit up with the green medical chakra. He moved his right hand over the wound on his left forearm and watched as the flesh neatly stitched itself together.
He focused intently on the feeling the medical chakra gave off and how it worked when he applied it to his wound. He spent several minutes just going over the feeling in his mind so that he could ensure he remembered it. From there he spent thirty minutes cutting himself and performing the technique over and over again with all the hand seals. After that small amount of time he began t cut out the last seal, the snake seal every time he performed the technique. The first few attempts failed, with no healing at all but he finally began to adjust to the lack of a single seal. As he continued practicing, he made sure to reach the same speed he had been at with the technique and all the seals before moving on to the next step. It took him over an hour before he cut out the second seal, the rat, and continued practicing. But he found that with all the previous practice he was progressing even faster than the first two steps.
By seven am he was managing to heal his shallow cuts without any seals. Granted it was exceptionally slower than when he did I with one seal or even all the seals but he knew that now it was simply a matter of practice in order to proceed. If he just kept doing this then eventually he would adapt to what was needed and he would be good and done. Senshi decided to pause and consume his breakfast of four egg whites, fruit, and three links of turkey sausage. He had also brought a small container of orange juice as a treat to himself. His body showed the clearly defined muscles of a person who trained vigorously and ate an exceedingly healthy diet.

Sora was quietly training in the opposite field, and after a hard day of physical training, the boy was going to head back to the orphanage. As he started walking on the dirt road Sora began to take note of the other training grounds, and how he could go to each one of them rather than just stay in one field. What good would a training field be if it was all torn up? Sometimes you could find discard kunai and shuriken from the difficult training of another Shinobi.
As the boy looked over the training grounds he noticed one boy in particular. How he had a kunai that he cut his arm with, causing Sora to cringe. Why would the ninja do something like that to himself? His question was answered when he performed the basic medical ninjutsu on the cut. After that, he cut the same place once again and then tried doing it with no hand seals. Was the boy trying to master this jutsu? His question was once again answered when he managed to heal his shallow cut without the use of hand seals.
"That was really impressive," Sora had said to himself as he walked tan-skinned towards the black-haired, tan-skinned boy. He had gotten out what looked like breakfast, and Sora had already decided this would be a perfect time to speak up and introduce himself.
"Hi, I'm Sora Uzumaki. I don't mean to intrude, but may I eat breakfast with you? I was just about to head home, but I was wondering if you could teach me a few things first. I hope I'm not being so frontal, or so blunt about this, but I just need some people to help me gain some more techniques and power." Sora finished. If the boy said yes he'd sit down far enough away from his that it wouldn't be seen as abnormal. He'd bring out his scroll and take out a variety of fruits, a few flapjacks, and finally fresh turkey bacon.
Sora would look glance towards the boy and back to his food as he took small bites out of a banana; the silence would soon kill him though so he'd speak up, "A few questions. What do you specialize in - I'm assuming with that giant sword and other blades your specialty is weapons, what techniques are you willing to teach, and do you have any teammates? I have met at least three more Genin before I met you."
He'd wait for him to respond and answer any questions he had. He'd finish eating and get ready for anything that the muscular boy was going to teach him.

Senshi turned his head as he heard foot steps approaching him, he watched the other Genin approach him as he continued to eat. Listening to the other Genin speak Senshi had to wonder how weird it was that so many people seemed to come up to him for training in the training grounds so often lately. It probably had something to do with the fact that he had taught that class at the Academy when he had first become a Genin. All the academy students that were graduating now recognized him from that usually. Shrugging the thought off as he finished his meal he stood up stretching slightly before finally speaking to Sora.
“Kobayashi Senshi. Yes, I am a weapons specialist though after I make Chuunin I intend to specialize in fuuinjutsu. I have a lighting and a wind affinitiy and know a few basic ninjutsu for them. What is it you wanted to learn though? What is your specialization?” Senshi paused, to be honest he didn’t really care what Sora knew or what his specialization was. It was just his duty as a senior Genin to assist any other shinobi of Kumo to become better. It would make the village better as whole as well. “I’m on a team under Jounin Teirumi Itami, with Genin’s Shoyu Reizo and Yamaguchi Maximillian.” Senshi began to ponder what D rank technique he should master next as he waited for Sora to respond.

Sora nodded at his answers, he seemed pretty strong. Since the nice Genin had answered him quickly, he'd do the same for him.
"Well, I am specialized in Fuinjutsu. My elemental affinity is fire, but I'm looking for the chance to learn lightning. Could you teach me some D-Rank Taijutsu and any D-Rank Ninjutsu if you do decide to teach me a few things." Sora finished. He took any wrappers or scraps and put them back in his sealing scroll.
If Senshi decided to train him he'd stand up with a quick stretch and get ready to train with the other Genin.

Senshi gave a light shrug, it seemed his duty was to be a teacher no a days. Still with a new Genin it was important that they receive the help that they needed to progress. It would only make kumo that much stronger in the long run if they had many strong shinobi. Plus it would teach him how to be a better shinobi himself, and teach him how to be a leader which is effectively what Chuunin were anyways. One day, when he had a Genin team of his own he would be able to look back on all these teaching opportunities he had and teach his own Genin. That would be invaluable to him when he reached that level.
“Lightning is very simple to learn, as every human has lightning in their body energizing their cells. The fastest way to learn it is to super charge the electricity in your body with my own lightning.” With that in mind Senshi felt his fist light up with lightning, from the Raiton: Jodan technique and reached out to tap the other Genin on his shoulder giving him a nasty shock. “That is what it feels like, now you just have to spend the time working to replicate it. The technique I just used is Raiton: Jodan a taijutsu move that used lightning chakra. Once you can use lightning I’ll teach you more.” With that Senshi would stand back letting the boy before him begin to practice and ready to answer any questions he had.

Sora was planning on learning all the techniques he could, so he was gleeful when Senshi said that he'd train him. Sora wanted to have all the power that he could muster; it was a mental thing to the boy. He wanted to be strong enough to protect his loved ones, to serve Kumo to his best potential, and to prove himself in front of anyone he faced.
If he was fighting someone, he wanted to have the power to demolish them in between his hands absolutely, and the access to lots of jutsu would allow his skill level to increase by a large margin. Still, there was so much he could go, his chakra levels would support all the E-Rank and D-Rank techniques he could muster, but the C-Rank, B-Rank, and A-Rank techniques were only up to five on his list until his chakra coils were grown up and enhanced.
Before Senshi could zap him, he held his hands up in a waiting signal, "Hold on Senshi, I have to get into a ready position."
Sora wouldn't falter, and as the boy thought this his brow furrowed.
The Genin sat down on the field. He grabbed a chakra paper and put it between his two palms. The boy was going to meditate, and then try to access his secondary chakra. He'd bring it forward and then access his second element.
When he zapped him the electric shock went throughout his body causing his eyes to widen in, shock, get it? It traveled through his muscles, and he could swear made his blood warm up. He held onto the feeling as he channeled it into the chakra paper at the same time.
All of a sudden the chakra paper crumpled up, and Sora's eyes shot open. "Hey Senshi, I did it! Thanks for the help. If it isn't a bother, you wouldn't mind teaching me some lightning techniques?" He turned to the Genin with what others would call puppy-eyes
A sudden revelation came over him. If Senshi was a Genin that meant he was certified to be on a team, could the boy take him as a partner, of course, that wasn't if he hadn't had a team already?
"One more thing Senshi, do you have a team? I'd love to become your teammate! It'd be so cool fighting side-by-side like superheroes or something!" Sora would then throw a few light jabs at the air in a child-like manner.
Sora would wait for the Genin to respond.

Senshi paused his hand as the boy asked staring at him with a piercing look in his eyes. He really didn’t have time to waste for this kid to get ready for the shock. The least he could do is just take it like a man, he was fourteen after all. When the boy sat down, Senshi let out a slight sigh and when he finally got the okay he reached out and jolted Sora with more power than he had intended. His ration chakra reacting to his irritation at being made to wait so long for the other Genin to prepare himself. Senshi watched as Sora worked on channeling the ration chakra into the paper until it finally crumbled.
If that was how he wanted to learn, Senshi wasn’t going to contradict him. Everyone had their own special learning style after all. Giving a slight nod to consent to training Sora in some basic Raiton techniques he found one of his eyebrows twitching in sudden irritation as the boy went on about becoming teammates and being super heroes. Senshi was a shinobi, not a super hero and he had not wish to have such a childish dream. “I must decline your offer Sora.” Senshi paused, making sure Sora noticed the serious stare he was giving him. “Our superiors determine who is on a team, not us Genin. Also I am already assigned to an established team, and as such would not be able to transfer.”
Pausing Senshi waited for the other boy to respond before performing the hand seals to the Raiton Jodan technique slowly so that the other boy could follow. “Those were the hand seals to Raiton: Jodan. You just have to focus your lightning chakra into your hand and channel it there to enhance a punch.” Letting the chakra dissipate he then performed the hand seals to the Keiren No Jutsu, or Cramp technique. He reached out and tapped Sora on the shoulder with his max speed, far too fast for the boy to even see let alone react. “That was the Keiren no Jutsu, or Cramp technique. You focus some lightning chakra into your hand but instead of trying to shock and cut someone you focus on just shocking them in order to force their muscles to cramp up.”
Reaching into his weapons pouch he withdrew a Kunai and performed the handseals to the Raiton Kunai Cutter technique watching as the blade became enhanced with his ration chakra. It was weaker than the basic Lightning style Chakra Blade, but useful none the less for people who were just learning how to use their lightning chakra. Certainly better to start there, just as Senshi was about to explain the technique he stopped. Cutting the flow of chakra off he put the blade back into his pocket. “That was ration Kunai cutter, however you need to know chakra infusion to use it. Do you know it?” The senior Genin would wait for the other boy to tell him, and to practice the other techniques that he had demonstrated.

Sora's eye twitched slightly at the overload of Raiton chakra in his system, oh well, it helped him more to get through learning his second affinity so fast. Senshi did not act like Sora wanted him too, or more the way he expected him too. Could he not have fun while training?
Sora caught Senshi's gaze; his glare made Sora shrink back slightly. “Our superiors determine who is on a team, not us Genin. Also, I am already assigned to an established team, and as such would not be able to transfer.” Senshi would say causing Sora to shrink back even more
"I-I understand," Sora said regaining his composure. It seemed like Senshi was mad at him, slightly annoyed, it caused Sora to feel somewhat disappointed, not in Senshi, but in himself as a shinobi of Kumogakure. He didn't get to dwell on it as Senshi was already launching techniques at him. He nodded listening to every word as he went through them.
He'd make Senshi forget about his childish attitude recently and his more serious approach when learning jutsu and techniques. The first jutsu, an electric uppercut. "It's like in that one book I read, where the guy says-" Sora didn't finish that sentence as he realized that he needed to be more serious around Senshi, at least so the same thing didn't happen like before.
After performing the needed hand signed, he channeled Raiton chakra into his fist as he sprung up imagining an opponent in front of him. The shadow boxer he was imagining would be sent flying in the air while being electrocuted. It was hard using the move as he had just learned his lightning affinity. He would've slowed down, but he didn't want to make Senshi disappointed once again. Sora charged more electricity into his arm as he started on a few katas of his Taijutsu style.
He'd knee the shadowy figure in the stomach causing the breath to get knocked out of his gut. He'd use a round-house kick on the side of his ribs causing him to stumble and then use Raiton: Jodan causing him to fly up in the air and land with an audible thump, or there would've been in the shadowy figure was real. Sora bent down putting his hands on his knees as he panted.
Sora wanted to show Senshi his best, but he knew his limits. He wasn't superhuman - even though they technically were - and he couldn't go on forever. Sora got back up sparing a glance at Senshi as he started once again. His forearm blocked the blow, and his other arm grabbed his wrist flipping him towards his body. He charged the Raiton in his arm and uppercut him directly in the gut sending him flying in the air. He charged chakra in his legs jumping above him and slamming his fist in a haymaker into the shadowy figures back.
He landed as soon as the mysterious figure was on the ground. He'd channel chakra into his arm again and slam it into the ground where the man would've been causing the soil to explode a bit. Sora finally stopped directing the lightning into his arm as he gasped for air once again. He took a sharp intake of air causing him to cough, but he was still okay.
Sora wasn't full on gasping for air; he was just breathing heavily. He didn't want Senshi to think he was weak, so Sora stretched out a bit causing his bones to pop, and with a small smile he went on to the next technique.
It was so fast that Sora didn't even see it coming, he didn't even comprehend it until his muscles spasmed, cramped up, and Senshi was in front of his face.
“That was the Keiren no Jutsu, or Cramp technique. You focus some lightning chakra into your hand but instead of trying to shock and cut someone you focus on just shocking them in order to force their muscles to cramp up.”
"Ah, shit," Sora muttered his heart was slowing down. It had scared the hell out of him, of how fast he could die to someone as experienced as Senshi. "Is there any reverse to this? Just curious." Sora would say until the pain went away. Sora would do what Senshi had just done, just with the included hand signs.
"Bird, Snake, Dragon, Horse, and finally Ox," Sora said running through them at a speed Senshi would find pathetic. All of a sudden an electric current surrounded his hand. He shoved his hand forward towards Senshi's shoulder trying to test the jutsu. He'd probably just dodge it or deflect it if he did that he'd continue to practice the technique and Raiton affinity while Senshi would do whatever Senshi did.
As Sora was doing this, he was wondering about what kind of training he'd do next. Learn some Fuuinjutsu techniques at the library; a few A-Rank ones would be nice. The lightning current that he had put under had caused him to improve using his Raiton affinity if only slightly. He was having an easier time using the Cramp Jutsu; imagining an opponent again he would run forward using the technique in the leg.
He'd channel more lightning chakra to make it more efficient or last longer as the art was supposed used. If he mastered this technique he wouldn't need to use any hand signs to do this; it could be pretty significant. He'd ask Senshi if it was suggested to master this technique. As he went through the hand signs, he'd focus more electric chakra into his arm so it could go to his hands. He'd then bring it through his skin so there would be some circular force field around his hand. He'd then rub his hands together and use the shock.
There was a lightning flash forcing him to close his eyes so there wouldn't be any repercussions to his pupils. He had finally got the technique down to where it'd cramp up the muscles and everything around that muscle causing the opponent it was used on to be ineffective. Almost like the Hyuuga Gentle Fist, but, you know, not as efficient.
"I got that technique down too Senshi; I'm ready to learn the next one-" As he recalled Senshi's words he realized he didn't know Chakra Infusion but was it a good idea pissing off Senshi anymore? Oh well.
"No, I'm sorry Senshi, I don't know Chakra Infusion. Could you teach me?" Sora would finish and wait for the other Genin's response.

Senshi watched as the boy before him worked on the two techniques. He had picked up the two D rank techniques rather quickly and the worked his way through learning to manipulate his ration chakra just as fast. Though Senshi found the boy to be immature and annoying what with the comment about being super heroes, he did recognize his potential and enjoyed it. He liked when fellow Kumo shinobi were rather strong and good at learning techniques quickly. His ability to learn a second chakra nature so quickly, and then learn the two d ranks was making a good way towards forcing Senshi to not dislike the boy before him.
Senshi decided to take pity on the boy and spoke while he practiced, “If you want there are some E rank missions we can do together tomorrow. But only if you work hard here.” Senshi gave the boy his typical hard stare waiting to see what he would say. If he acted as though E rank missions were above him then Senshi would not teach him anything further. Shinobi needed to be able to set their pride aside for the betterment of the village. Giving back to the village was what shinobi did in order to not only build themselves up but to also atone for the sins they committed in the line of duty.
“I can teach you Chakra Infusion, it is rather simple really.” Senshi pulled out one of his tantos and held it in front of him, “First you focus on pushing your chakra into the blade, while you do this imagine filling the blade up with your chakra. Forcing it into the shape of the weapon you are using.” As Senshi spoke he pushed his chakra into the blade watching as it slowly lit up with raiton chakra, crackling loudly with his deep gray chakra. “You can use normal chakra, or elemental chakra. Elemental chakra adds to the blade. Lightning can numb an opponent and increase the sharpness of the blade, wind increases the sharpness of the blade, earth increases the blades durability, and fire will light the blade on fire.” Senshi gave a light shrug before cutting off the flow of chakra to the blade and resheathing it. “Once you figure out chakra infusion you can do Raiton Kunai cutter with ease since I already demonstrated it.”

It was pretty simple, almost like every technique that Senshi was teaching him. He was able to listen to the lecture, experiment with what his teacher told him, practices with the instructions, and then finally nail the jutsu/technique after a few test drives. Sora pulled out a kunai from his holster and held it out in front of his eyes. He closed his eyes as he started to channel his chakra into it, or at least try to. It was way harder to channel chakra into something, especially if it didn't have any natural chakra in it.
Let's say wood. You're able to channel your chakra into that easier since it already has pre-existing chakra in it. Same goes with plants, water, and almost anything alive. That's how Tree Walking/Water Walking works anyways. Metal was an entirely different thing. It had no chakra in it at all; it didn't have any genes, to summarize, it wasn't alive. You'd need to force your chakra into it, gently to not explode it or yourself, and fill in the missing gaps of where chakra would naturally be in other things. It was also harder as the material was sturdier than let's say wood.
Sora finally felt his chakra going through the kunai. The Genin assumed it was easier for other people since they didn't have as dense of chakra as he did.
He guessed being an Uzumaki was a blessing and a curse. About being an Uzumaki that revelation surprised Sora a lot, especially now that he could produce chakra chains. It would help him a lot in fights, especially since the chakra chains were extremely sharp. Sora finally felt something click and he opened his eyes to see that the kunai was humming as it had gotten filled to the brim with chakra.
Sora didn't waste any time as he slashed the kunai diagonally obtaining a feel for the improved kunai. He'd continue to slice in a backward grip, and then a lunge, sometimes even a few jabs.
"Hey, I did it Senshi-" He cut himself off as the blade lost all the chakra it just had received. The Uzumaki's eye twitched as he looked at the kunai, after all of that hard work and theory. No need to get frustrated, just to try again. It seemed he needed the utmost concentration to get this technique down. He immediately did the same thing he had done last time but letting his mind wander until the procedure had finished.
“If you want there are some E rank missions we can do together tomorrow. But only if you work hard here.” Senshi had explained to Sora. Those words wouldn't stop repeating in his head, the chance to do his first missions, with a friend! That was a chance he wouldn't give up.
"I'd love to go on those E-Rank missions with you Senshi; I'll work harder than before to make sure to go," Sora's gaze wouldn't leave the blade as he responded to Senshi, "I haven't been on a mission yet since I've become a Genin. Can't wait to do it with you."
Sora was so excited about doing the mission, who wouldn't be, it was the first mission he was ever going to do! He held out on it a lot since he was too busy training and meeting with other Genin, but no more, he was ready to get started. He held in his hype because one, he didn't want to embarrass himself in front of Senshi again, and two, he had to focus on learning this technique.
There was that sudden click again. As soon as Sora heard the humming, the blade flew out of his hand slamming into a close-by tree with an audible thump. Sora lazily Body Flickered over there and grabbed it. The chakra was still in it; he finally got down the technique. Now all he had to do we make sure he was able to fuse his chakra into the blade as quick as a snap.
Sora cut off the chakra from the kunai again and focused on putting his chakra in there faster, and making the chakra in the blade more potent this time, so it would be as strong as it possibly could be. He swiped it a few times, tossed it in the air and caught it, and then spun it around by the loop. It seemed as if the chakra was stable, but Sora still wasn't infusing his chakra fast enough.
Sora would ask for tips from Senshi how to channel it quickly, but that would stall the time for him to learn the technique. He knew that if he got the technique right, the blade would hum as well as glow a faint blue. Maybe Sora could channel the chakra through his arms so that the build up was there, and then transfer it all into the kunai in one go.
He tried that, building up chakra throughout his skin and chakra coils. He instantly pushed that all into the kunai making it hum louder but not glow like it was supposed to when others have done it. Was the key more chakra, more pressure, or both? Sora tried more chakra which made it hum even louder, scared that the blade was going to break, he tried it on another kunai. This time he pressured more chakra into it filling it to its brink. It started to glow blue!
If he put those two together, then Sora summarized it'd probably work if he combined both of his solutions into one. He did as was instructed causing the blade to take on a faint blue glow that soon surrounded it. This time he had known that he had done it. He took a throwing stance and aimed at the tree he had thrown the first kunai at. As the kunai soared through the air and connected with the tree, Sora smiled as he had finally done it. Jogging over to the tree, Sora yanked the kunai out of the thick bark; he was surprised that it was that deep inside the tree!
Now it was time for Raiton: Kunai Cutter.
"Lightning can numb an opponent and increase the sharpness of the blade, wind increases the sharpness of the blade, earth enhances the durability of the blade, and fire will light the blade on fire,” Sora recalled Senshi saying. He'd want to use the Lightning and Fire one, of course; maybe he could search up the fire technique.
Raiton: Kunai Cutter was the same as Chakra Infusion, but just with elemental chakra instead of basic chakra. It was harder since it was elemental, but Sora was pretty sure that metal was a conductor for Lightning, and with that fact, he began. He used a dog hand sign to help channel chakra throughout his arm and into the blade. Instead of just forcing it in all at once, Sora kept a constant stream going as if you were drinking something out of a plastic straw.
"I think I got it Senshi!" Sora said as he channeled more Raiton chakra into the kunai. He remembered what the lovely lady and wife of the Raikage, Akihana had said to him in the academy. She explained how to use Chakra Infusion before she had started the exams, he wondered if the beauty would remember him if they were ever to meet again.
"No Sora-kun, you aren't stabbing your weapon with your chakra, rather, you're coating it," He remembered the flower of Kumogakure saying to him. He channeled his chakra around the blade instead of in it, but at the same time kept a constant flow. All of a sudden the knife was crackling with electricity causing Sora's eyes to widen in excitement. He threw the kunai at the same tree, once again, and this time it went right through the tree slightly burning it in the process!
"Success!" Sora cheered as he ran to pick up his kunai. As soon as he grabbed the metal knife, he moved back to Senshi to know what to do next.
"I'm ready for the next lesson Senshi." Sora would say with a smile on his face on the prospecting of learning even more.
