Komon's Weapon Training Empty Komon's Weapon Training

Wed Jan 18, 2017 1:34 pm
Komon had gotten into the habit of using his sword, he was learning to trust it almost as much as his ninjutsu, and as such he valued it as an essential shinobi tool, the weapon was almost always at his side and he kept it as clean as he could, cleaning and polishing it as often as possible. The weapon was so clean one could see their own reflection off of the shiny metallic surface of the blade. The weapon couldn’t have asked to be kept in the hands of a better owner. However as clean as he kept his blade, and as actively as he used it, he couldn’t help but feel he was lacking in technique.. The same could be said for his kunai, which he treated with equal care. So today Komon decided that he was going to spend some time furthering his skills in weaponry.

Of course he had already decided this about an hour ago, and after making that decision he had headed to the training ground, which about brings you up to speed on Komons day. Komon was now standing in the middle of a clearing in the woods, his usual training spot if you will, and his hand was in his weapons pouch attached to his rear. Upon close inspection one could see that Komon’s byakugan was active and he was in an almost crouching position with his free arm extending outwards, reaching forwards. This was in order to better his aim, his hand in front of his face doubling as a distance marker and pointing towards the three wooden targets in front of him, and his opposite hand in his weapons pouch clutching on to three shuriken between his fingers.

Komon was in total focus, and the lively forest teeming with the sounds and livelihood of nature was all but silent to him. All he was focused on was the target in front of him and his breathing. The breathing was the only thing he heard and the sound seemed to be almost amplified, as his fingers began to pull the shuriken out of his pouch he inhaled and held the breath inwards, not allowing himself to excel, this would cause his heart rate to steady at a slower rate and allow him increased accuracy in his technique. His fingers had now pulled the three shuriken out of his pouch and his arm dashed forward from behind his ribs to above his shoulder. He held this position, technique was important and he was making sure he had mastered the basics, his free arm was still pointing at the target and his arm that carried the three shuriken had risen leaving the hand resting slightly above his shoulder next to his ear.

“Noted”

Komon thought to himself as he ensured that his technique was correct. Now it was about time he put the technique into action, he thought to himself as he pulled his forearm from his shoulder forward and flicked his wrist while noting the position of his free hand which was picking its targets. Komon released the shuriken in between his index and middle finger towards the first of the three targets and sent it on its way to the target to the left which was the closest, and about a millisecond later his wrist swiveled and was now aimed towards the second target in the middle of the cluster of the trees, Komon released this one as well, the first released shuriken was already about halfway to its target at this point. Komon made note of it as he flicked his wrist and released the shuriken between his pinky finger and ring finger, the last of the three, resulting in the finish of his technique.

There was about a half a second pause before the satisfying sound followed.

“Clunk, Clunk, Clunk”

Komon smiled upon hearing it as he looked at the three targets in front of him, three bullseyes.. His aim was certainly improving, as he had straight up missed several targets in previous training, but there was a lack of power behind his throw, and he desperately needed to add some to it, he knew with his katana he could use chidori katana to amplify his swords sharpness and durability, but to his knowledge he couldn’t do the same with his shuriken. Keeping the electricity in the kunai or shuriken after releasing it from your hand was no easy task, even for an accomplished lightning ninjutsu wielder like himself.

Komon continued to think about his problems as he walked over to the first of the three targets and with great effort pulled the cold metallic shuriken out of the rough wooden target it had dug itself into. As he did this he decided that the only way to develop this technique would be to try and transfer the properties he used in chidori katana to the shuriken he threw and to be able to maintain the lightning chakra from a distance, which would require immense concentration and the perfection of his chidori katana technique. As he finished this thought he was already in front of the second target and had pulled out that shuriken as well, knowing what he was going to do to train now he made his way to the third target and finished the process of retrieving all of his shuriken.

Now done with the clean up Komon made his way over to a small tree, “This should work just fine” He thought to himself as he reached behind his back and gripped the black wooden hilt of his katana. He then pulled it from his sheath raising it above his head before lowering his arms and letting it rest at his side. Deciding now was as good a time as any to make sure he still knew what he was doing. In one swift action he allowed the chakra in his body to pulsate and turn itself into electricity before releasing it into his forearm and down towards his palm which then directed the chakra around his metallic blade.

Komon’s byakugan caught the radiating blue aura coming off of his katana and perceived it as a very bright blue chakra, but he had no doubt in his mind that it would be perfectly visible to anyone with the naked eye, now knowing that the ninjutsu technique he had worked so hard on getting down was working properly he extended his arm and struck out at the small tree in front of him, striking parallel to the ground for a clean horizontal chop at the trees trunk. The sword went through, and cut through the wood like it was nothing more than butter, before buckling in on itself and falling to the left of Komon making a rather loud thud as it did so.

Komon now decided that it was time to try the same with his shuriken, his end goal would be to not just get a bullseye but to completely shatter the wooden targets on impact. Ready to begin the process he again walked back to the center of the field and extended his right arm to use as a distance marker and zero in his aim on the targets before allowing his arm to fall back to his rear and reach into his weapons pouch once more grabbing a hold of three shuriken between his fingers. As his hand came into contact with the cold steel he began to again let the chakra inside him pulsate until it converted itself into electricity, as he did this he allowed himself to express a confident grin before he started the next phase of the technique.

Komon maintained the flow of electricity as he lowered his arm to reach from behind his back to flip forwards until his left hand was resting above his shoulder and next to his ear, his hand would stop for only a second this time before lurching his forearm forward with enough force to launch his shuriken forwards and towards their intended targets. His wrist would then flip to further increase the momentum before he released the three shuriken within seconds of each other sending each one to one of the three wooden targets before him.

As the shuriken left his hand he continued to maintain his control over the electricity and was surprised to see he did it relatively easily, his byakugan confirmed that the electricity stayed in effect even as it soared through the air with no contact to his actual chakra system.

“Clunk, Crack, Crack”

Could be heard as the shuriken found their targets, the first one had missed its target but made a relatively large indent in the tree while the other two seemed to have hit dead on splitting the wooden targets and causing them to fall to the ground while the shuriken remained embedded in the tree above them. Despite the miss of the target Komon took pride in the results resting in front of him before muttering aloud.

“I guess two out of three ain’t bad”

Komon's Weapon Training Empty Re: Komon's Weapon Training

Wed Jan 18, 2017 9:59 pm
Komon looked at the scattered Kunai in front of him as he breathed heavily, several broken targets lay on the ground and electricity running off of his shuriken, obviously amped with his own chakra. But he wasn’t done training yet, four targets still remained and they had to feel the wrath of Komon Hyuuga, confidently he reached into his weapons pouch to feel for his shuriken in order launch them forward, placing them between his fingers as he did so. But he ran into a problem he hadn’t been expecting. Where he had been expecting four total shuriken, his hands only seemed to be able to find three in the pouch, a rather unfortunate event considering he had really wanted to destroy all four targets in a single swoop for evading him this long.

“Guess I’m going to have to take two trips”

He thought to himself as he pulled the shuriken out of his bag and in one swift motion he had practiced repeatedly launched his arm forwards, over his shoulder and extended his forearm forward at an alarming speed, flicking his wrist as he did so in order to launch  the shuriken at several different intervals in time. This would result in the shuriken being launched in separate directions and towards different targets, rather than all of them heading towards the same destination. But Komon had rethought his earlier process and came up with a solution to his lack of shuriken. The last shuriken he had in his hands would be directed towards the one that had left previously.

He smiled as he watched his plan go into action.

“Clank”

Could be heard as he watched the shuriken to bounce off each other sending one on its way to it’s intended wooden target and the other into a spinning motion.

“Clunk, Clunk”

Could be heard as the first two shuriken hit their mark, the last one that had bounced off the previous one was still in motion and could be seen with a rather intense spin on its way to one of the last two targets. The spin however had caused it to come at tree from an angle rather than straight at the target and was approaching the side of the target rather than the face.

“Snap”

Could be heard clearly as the shuriken sliced the target from the side and continued onwards heading straight at the last target. Komon smiled at the surprising success of this technique, he had seen skilled jounin do it in the past but had never considered it something he would be capable of, especially in his first try. But Komon’s self worship would soon be cut off as he watched the shuriken flys straight past its intended target missing it completely.

“Or not..”

He said aloud. Disappointed in himself for missing the last target he decided he’d let it remain in tact so he could destroy it another day, before he began to walk across the clearing in the woods, picking up the cold metal weapons as he did so, both kunai and shuriken alike. Annoyed by the fact that he couldn’t seem to find a solution to his lack of weapons and his rebounding kunai skill drastically needed to be improved, he began to realize this could be a life threatening situation in combat. Needless to say this put him in a state of nervousness. He decided that he would have to think over a more efficient and beneficial solution to his problem at a later time, as he completed this thought his stomach made a rather audible rumbling sound and he was able to deduce that he was hungry from it. Now on a quest to satisfy his hunger Komon began to pick up the pace as he gathered the last of his kunai and shuriken into his weapons pouch.

The clearing was now void of metal weapons so komon leaped up onto a tree branch and began to glide from branch to branch at a steady pace, at this rate he would be back to the village in a matter of minutes, Komon used this time to think up a solution to his kunai problem, his thought process started with numbers. He thought about how he carried a total of five kunai, five shuriken, and one fuma shuriken. This added up to a total of eleven projectiles and meant without ricocheting kunai he could take down a maximum of eleven enemy shinobi. But what if he ran into more shinobi than that, what if he had to face twenty, or thirty.

Well I’d probably just die

A less than confident voice rang in his head. Komon laughed at his own self doubt before refocusing, he still had to solve his problem after all. Then his mind began to think of the shadow clone technique and how it multiplied his body to allow him to fight multiple opponents. Then he began to wonder if he could apply the same effect to his kunai, could he clone his shuriken to give himself more firepower. The idea certainly seemed promising to him but there was only one way to find out. Practicing it. He began to turn around to get back to the training ground before his stomach rumbled once more as if to tell him “Don’t you dare ignore me” Komon was frustrated with himself but decided eating was a necessary step in the training and continued heading towards the village.

About ten minutes later Komon found himself on the main road of the village hidden in the clouds and on his trip told himself that he was just going to find a small shack and get something he could take with him. He hadn’t the time to go to the diner he usually went to if he wanted to solve his kunai problem by the end of the day. After a couple more minutes of walking the object he had been seeking came into view, a small village hut appeared on the horizon. Excited and starving Komon began to sprint towards it and reached it in seconds. This hut seemed to have a vast variety of sea food, ranging from shrimp to grilled salmon.

Practically drooling at the mouth Komon picked up the shrimp and put it into a bag that was standing next to the tray. Now properly supplied with food Komon handed the man the proper amount of ryo to pay for his meal, before saying his thanks. The chef nodded and smiled waving goodbye as Komon began to double back towards the gate before he turned to his left and saw a small shack selling books on weaponry techniques, intrigued by the idea of this he thought perhaps he may be able to find a solution to his problem in the pages of the book.

Curious as to what the book may contain Komon again dished out the proper amount of ryo and took the binded pages with him in run back to his training ground. When he arrived at the clearing once more Komon used his byakugan to look for a place to sit before locating a flat boulder a little further back in the woods, thinking that that would be as good a place as any to begin digging into his book and look for answers. As he reached the boulder he crouched down before planting himself firmly on the surface, from here he began to flip through the pages to solve his mystery.

He found many pages containing a bunch of different sword, shuriken, and kunai techniques, none of which seemed to solve his problem. Until the last page, this technique was actually listed as a ninjutsu but since it had a very central focus on weaponry the author had felt the need to include it in his book, despite the fact that it was a ninjutsu. Komon smiled upon reading this, his specialty was ninjutsu and it would make the technique much simpler to learn. It was listed as an A rank ninjutsu and titled “Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu” the technique supposedly did exactly what he thought of inventing earlier when running on the trees. Komon couldn’t believe his luck what are the odds that a jutsu would fit the exact specifications he had hoped to create. Probably almost unrealistic.

Komon began to study the jutsu and noticed that it recommended the user already know the shadow clone jutsu before attempting it due to the fact that the jutsu functioned in a remarkably similar fashion to the shadow clone jutsu. Flipping the page again, Komon began to study the detailed hand signs that the jutsu consisted of. It was five signs a significant length but not nearly as time consuming as the likes of chidori with eleven symbols. In order the handsigns went Ram first, Rat second, Bird third, Boar fourth, and tiger last. Determined to learn the handsigns Komon began to perform them in rapid succession, he always made this a practice while training because he didn’t want to just memorize them, he wanted the movements to be something instinctive, almost primal in nature. He didn’t want to think about it he just wanted to do it, it would save him both time and effort in combat.

After about ten minutes he felt that he had the required amount of practice he demanded of himself to be ready to continue the training towards the technique. Ready to start he slammed the book shut and tossed it to the ground, telling himself that he would eventually come back for it to pick it up after he had trained a bit more. He then used his hands to push himself off of the boulder and made his way back to the center of the clearing. Here he took a look at the target from earlier that still rested untouched in its spot. Needless to say this view irritated Komon, the target stood as a testimony to his failure and he was going to have to obliterate it, it was only just to do so after all.

Komon decided the best way to pull off his vengeance would be to use the new technique, so he began to take up his throwing stance and extended his right arm outwards to once more act as a distance marker, and scope for his kunai. With his right arm in place and ready for the technique Komon let his left arm fall back once more and began to reach into his weapons pouch attached to his rear to find one kunai, he wouldn’t need multiple if the technique worked after all. Unfastening the kunai from his pouch he moved his arm from behind him to above him leaving his hand resting over his shoulder and next to his ear gently gripping the cold metal kunai.

“Now or never I guess”

He said as he launched his forearm forward with as much power as he could supply, before flicking his wrist and releasing the weapon into the air. Watching it soar Komon realized it was time for the handsigns and they instinctively slammed together creating the signs, first he made the symbol for ram, then he followed up with the rat symbol, next came bird, and then boar, and then he finished with the tiger seal, before exclaiming to the world “Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu!” his shout echoed throughout the forest and raised birds to the sky, but it seemed to be way too much dramatic effect for the event that actually occurred, the kunai didn’t multiply it simply hit the tree directly below the target he had been aiming for.

Disappointed in himself for failing to hit the target once more Komon face palmed. Wondering why the technique had failed he retrieved the book and began to study it once more, the book had an entry that clearly stated you needed to focus your chakra around the blade and then use that effect to replicate the object, it would basically print out a carbon copy of the object in the air and create multiple copies of the weapon, sending them all soaring in a wide almost unavoidable direction.
So that was Komon’s problem he had just infused the weapon with chakra and hadn’t bothered to replicate the chakra copy of the metal blades. Frustrated with himself for not thinking of this sooner Komon made his way over to the tree where his kunai had landed and retrieved it, pulling it out of the thick bark on the oak tree. He then wiped the kunai as he noticed it was covered in both dirt and wood shavings. After he made sure his weapon was polished and reflective he put it back into his pouch and once more took position at the center of the field.

This time he decided that throwing technique was not as essential for the exercise and simply stood in a casual position before drawing out his kunai. Taking a deep breath in and holding it to steady his heartbeat he released it ensuring that it was covered in his own chakra as he did so, watching the kunai soar he decided it was time to attempt the ninjutsu once more, that target would be destroyed if it was the last thing he did. In repeated succession he slammed his hands together and created the five symbols, ram, rat, bird, boar, tiger. Again he exclaimed “Shadow Shuriken Jutsu!” at the top of his lungs before copying the chakra signature in the already released kunai and attempting to create copies of the weapon that was soaring through the air at rapid speeds.

He watched as two copies appeared briefly before quickly fading away, into the air and vanishing, before the original slammed into the wooden target, the target however remained in tact as there was neither enough power or amount of kunai required to destroy it, Komon was irritated by this event has well, he had been hoping to get this jutsu down quickly but it was becoming increasingly apparent that it was going to take a bit more work than that. Desperate to come up with a solution he began to focus on the problem he had noticed himself, the kunai had appeared and disappeared which had meant that his chakra control had gone sporadic at some point, he simply needed to focus if he wanted to get this technique down. The problem still confused him however, he had thought he had gotten past his chakra control problems a loong time ago, but it seemed he still needed to work on it, that could prove disastrous if left unchecked and it happened in battle.

Komon decided that walking over to retrieve the kunai wasn’t worth it at the moment and instead pulled another out of his pouch. Gripping the cold metal tightly he decided that getting in proper technique was probably a good way to keep his chakra control in tact. So instead of a normal standing position like he had in his last attempt he crouched down slightly before extending his right arm and taking aim, followed by a rapid movement of his left arm and a flick of his wrist that left his left arm lined up with his right before releasing the kunai forwards. The kunai then flew forward at a pace equal to that of all his other attempts leaving Komon with ample time to activate the Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu, weaving the five symbols in a fluid motion and replicating the metalic weapon with his chakra he watched in awe as hundreds of kunai began to form, this was more than he had ever thought himself capable of.
The volley of kunai was heading straight for the tree that held the sign, he watched as they clashed into not just that tree but several ones around them, about 5 trees were grinded into dust by the massive volley of kunai, and the target, the target didn’t even stand a chance, Komon couldn’t even find its remains after the attack had finished its onslaught.

Komon looked in awe at the hundreds of kunai on the ground in front of him, the attack had finished but they still remained their solid as a rock, sawdust clouded the air where the trees had once stood tall and was beginning to fall slowly back to the earth. It was at about this time that komon realized he was going to have to search through this mess to find his original kunai. Laughing at the thought of having to spend a ton of time looking into this he looked up to see that the sun was beginning to set and night was beginning to fall.

“Better hurry”

He said aloud before continuing to look through the mess, he did this for about five minutes before realising that he could simply release the jutsu and the hundreds of kunai would merely vanish from existence, cursing himself for his own stupidity he formed the release seal and watched as clouds of smoke appeared all over the battlefield just like what would happen if a shadow clone popped out of existence. Now there would only be two original kunai, the one that had already been in the target when he released the attack and the one he had used for the source of the jutsu using his byakugan he quickly located both beneath a pile of torn up bark.

Happy with his results from the day Komon walked back up to the boulder where he had left his book, the book was relatively small so Komon stuffed it into the back of his weapons pouch tucking it away for further use. Now all packed up he began to eat the shrimp he had purchased earlier as he leaped back into the tree branches and began gliding home with the speed of a kumogakure gennin. As he made his way back he thought fondly of his bed, rest would be a welcomed reward for his hard work today.
