The Culling Part 1 Empty The Culling Part 1

Wed Feb 01, 2017 2:13 pm
Mission Link: Mission 1
Mission Detail:

He stood in front of the mission office, staring at the mission he had just picked up. To be honest as a Chuunin he had automatically assumed that he would always be put on C rank and higher missions. It seemed that he was incorrect, there was a sudden influx of D rank missions and they needed to assign some of the Chuunin to working on them. It only made sense that as the most junior Chuunin in the village that he would be assigned to complete the tasks. Plus it seemed that these missions were generally required for Genin to complete anyways, since it ensured they were ready for the harsh realities of life as a shinobi.

Shrugging the thought off Senshi started walking towards the village gates, while he wanted to do harder missions and gain more experience he wasn’t actually irritated by the mission he had received. He needed the money after all. Not only for gear but also because since becoming a Chuunin he had moved out of his parents estate and into a small two bedroom apartment of his own. Taking the age pills had made him the same age as his elder brother, and the amount of money he was expected to make as a Chuunin was far greater than that of a Genin. He was finally at a point in his life where he was considered a man in the eyes of his family.

Pushing the thoughts of he did a quick inventory of his equipment, giving an absent minded scratch to his beard. The thing was itchy but as he grew used to it, it was becoming less so. He only kept it because it allowed him to look older and more mature than he actually was. That was incredibly important to the newly promoted Chuunin because he was not expected to be a leader. No one wanted to follow a scrawny twelve year and as such Senshi had made sure to give himself the appearance of a man. Someone people would be more likely to look to in the event a serious situation erupted.

He finally arrived at the village gates, showing his mission scroll to the guard he headed out them towards the farm where his mission would take place. His mission was to kill 20 chickens, 10 cows, and 10 pigs at a local slaughter house. It didn’t take him long before he was approaching the slaughter house, he could already see several people milling about out in front of it. As he stopped near them he was approached by a man wearing far nicer clothes than the others. “You the shinobi sent to help us kill some of these animals today?” Senshi turned to the man assessing him for threats before giving a slight nod.

“Yes sir, I am Chuunin Kobayashi Senshi, what is the plan?” The man just gave a slight grin, while he had been expecting some new, young Genin he was still excited to see if this man-boy before him was squeamish. “So the pigs are down that way about two miles and the cows that way, same distance.” He pointed in the directions indicated as he spoke, “then the chickens are real close by just over there. Bring them on up to the house, kill and dismember them in the appropriately labeled containers and clean up when you’re done.” Senshi gave a nod, he didn’t see the point in questioning the man any more as it was a rather simple mission to understand.

It would be labor intensive in that he’d be carrying large cows and pigs two miles, but he knew he was more than strong enough to handle such a task. Taking off at a run he quickly arrived at the enclosure with the cows. He moved to the group that had already been separated out for him to take from. Catching two of the cows he hefted them up over his shoulders he ran back to the slaughter house tying the animals up inside of it before heading back to the enclosure. He was lucky that his strength was great enough that he could run with two of them at a time instead of being forced to carry only one at a time.

Not to mention that being able to carry them also greatly increased the speed with which he would be able to accomplish this mission. He couldn’t imagine how boring it would be if he was weaker and had to try and lead the animal at its slow, plodding pace back to the slaughter house. That would be terrible, and a waste of time considering that he needed to train more so that he ensured he deserved the title of Chuunin of Kumo. He completed his second trip, ignoring the stunned looks some of the workers were sending him as he set back off to collect cows number five and number six. It seemed they were far more used to watching the Genin who normally got this mission struggling through it.

He felt proud knowing that he was increasing his villages prestige just by doing such a simple task. Fifteen minutes later he had finally completed bringing all ten cows to the slaughter house. Each was tied to a kind of hitching post inside of it, with almost two meters between each of them. As Senshi looked at the labled bins he found the ones for the cows seeing that there was one for the legs, one for the head, and then he would need to carve out specific parts of the animal to put in other bins. The organs each other their own bins then the rear of the cow and the ribs had specific bins as well.

It seemed this would be rather bloody and annoying work to do. Still he had been meaning to practice a new technique lately that seemed rather ideal for this. The Wind Release Chakra Blade would allow him to effectively turn his hands in scapel like claws. This would allow him to use his hands as weapons instead of being forced to use a kunai or shuriken. This would make him a far more dangerous foe in close combat since very few enemies would probably suspect that his hands were almost as sharp as shuriken themselves. It would however take some concentrating in order to get it right the first few times.

As such he began to tune out the cows annoying mewling and focused on his chakra pulling it forth. Once he felt like he had enough chakra he began to convert it into the wind chakra he was so fond of using. As the chakra swirled through his body taking on a more blue color than his usual gray color he could feel it sharpening itself. The fact that he knew how to do this so well with his Lightning chakra was accelerating the learning process. Not to mention knowing chakra infusion made it a lot easier to train in it as well. He began to direct the wind chakra to his hands and watched as they began to glow a light blue.

He focused on the chakra losing the glowing color though it took several moments before it finally did. As it finally did diminish he could still see what appeared to be an almost whit chakra coming off his hands. He recognized it as pure wind chakra. It formed an almost claw like appearance over his hands extending about three centimeters off the hands. Now it was time to see if the chakra sharpness was correct. He didn’t want to cause one of the animals unnecessary pain so he decided to test the technique on his own skin first. He also did not want to cause damage to the structure of the building, just in case the damage repair came out of his own funds.

Bending down, since he also did not want to rip his own clothing he carefully ran one finger of the top of his foot. He was pleased to see that a small thing line of blood welled up from the cut he had given himself. Cutting off the flow of chakra he then used the most basic medical healing technique to heal the scratch he had given himself before walking over to the first cow. Restarting up the chakra of the wind release chakra blade he first used his hands to slit the cow’s throat and then as it began to bleed out he slit the major arteries in each leg to speed the process up. He then moved to the other nine cows repeating the process. It was the cleanest way to kill each of the animals and the most merciful. Plus he needed to have all of the cows bleed out so that he would create less of a mess when cleaning it up.

Well less of a mess on him. Now that he had completed killing and bleeding the cows out, he moved around removing all of their heads and placing them in the correct bins. Once that was completed he moved to removing the legs on every one of the animals and placing them in their appropriate bins. The next part was the truly dirty, gory, and time consuming part of the task. He slit the animals from neck to groin with his wind chakra infused hands then removed all of their organs placing them in the correct bins. He found it rather irritating how difficult it was to avoid getting blood all over himself, but being a shinobi was dirty work. Once he had completed that portion, he then carved out the ribs and haunches of the animals and finished sorting them.

Now it was time for the pigs. Setting off at a run he began collecting the huge pink, stinky animals two at a time, just as with the cows and transporting them back to the slaughter house. It was aggravating, since the smell of blood was so heavy in the air the animals began struggling when he got them back to the slaughter house. It took him only slightly longer to transport the pigs back to the slaughter house before he could begin killing and dismembering them. He did the same thing he had done with the cows, ensuring to check and find the appropriate bins before killing each animal with a clean, deep slice to the throat and the major arteries in their lungs.

He quickly dismembered the pigs this time having to ensure he cut the ears off the head and the hooves off the legs and placing them in their correct bins. Once he had completed that he collected the chickens, five at a time. It didn’t take long to get the chickens into the slaughter house and then to kill them all. It was annoying have to detach their weird claw feet but once that had been completed he ended the Wind chakra blade technique and began to clean up. Even after dousing the floor in bleach and mopping it several times it still smelled heavily of the blood of all the animals he had slaughtered in here. Shrugging, Senshi knew that he wouldn’t be able to get rid of it all before leaving the slaughter house and heading back to the village.

As he walked he filled out his report on the mission, making sure not to get blood on the scroll as he did so. It was a rather simple report though so he finished just as he was getting to the village gates. Checking back in with the guard he then headed towards the mission office quickly. Entering it he waited patiently in the line of shinobi turning missions in before giving a respectful nod to the Chuunin manning the desk. Now that he was a Chuunin as well he didn’t need to stand at attention or salute them. Placing the report on the desk he spoke, “I’ve completed the Slaughterhouse mission, any others that need to be done?”
