Ayame listened to the Lycanthrope talk about how a lot of his friends were dead now too. "I almost wish for a world with no wars." Ayame stated, "But if that were the case, what would humanity focus on? Learning everything there is to know? Then what do we do once we know everything? Can we ascend to an ethereal plane? Is knowledge unlimited or limited? Personally, the way I see it, if we had no wars, our lives would be controlled by others, and free will would cease to exist." She stated. She had very mixed feelings about everything with the world. "If only they could be fought without the loss of life" Ayame noted.
Ayame watched the boy back up a bit from her, and she moved to the side to avoid the rock she had been sitting at. She heaved a sigh of relief, finding it a bit easier to let out her frustrations and emotions in spar than anywhere else. If it were a real battle she could very easily turn her emotions off. Why couldn't she do that when at rest then?
Ayame took her stance preparing herself for the Lycan to move, however, she quickly realized he wanted her to go first. She knew what she wanted to train and how much fun it would be to train it; the Storm element. To learn it, she would need to combine water with electricity to get lightning that would flow and bend like grass in the wind.
She focused her energy on that as she made the hand signs for a separate Jutsu. Perhaps training lightning Ninjutsu and Water ninjutsu together would help. Ergot she made the hand signs for Snake's Mouth Jutsu, spitting a large water snake from her mouth, sending it to chase after the wolf boy. She would continue her succession of hand signs to include Boar, Ram, Snake, Horse, and Dragon, lightning erupting from her body in a single beam that would combine with the snake the moment it left her mouth. This bolt of lightning would join with the water and be held within the water by Ayame's chakra, to hopefully shock the boy. (Power for Lightning Jutsu Scaled to 50, Snakes mouth scaled to 40, will avoid being swallowed if he has a strength higher than the power of the snake, but he still could take damage)
This snake would chase him so long as she stayed within 20 meters of him, so that is what she would Aim to do for the time being.

"Not necessarily true." He disagreed in response to Ayame's statement about wars. "Forcing it on them is what you're thinking of. What I'm talking about is how disappointing that we can't see how completely hypocritical it all is on our own. In fact, I'm sure people like the Kazekage and the Hokage do see it, but are powerless to do anything because others don't. A vicious cycle."
And with those words being said, their battle began, Ayame immediately weaving signs while Salzem merely took one hand out from his pockets and extended it outward, his fingers unfurling as well. The moment the girl unleashed her combination attack of both water and lighting, a massive 6x6 barrier of chakra erupted from within the gloves, spreading outward and crashing into the aggressive techniques, not even shaking with the force of its impact. Ayame's attacks would prove useless (Health of Barrier = 100), causing it all to crash off to either side harmlessly, sparking water mixing in with the sand to form a soft, hot sludge. Meanwhile, while this technique assaulted his barrier, Salzem reached behind him with his other hand, digging his fingers into the rock of the boulder they were once leaning upon, his muscles bulging as he struggled to lift the massive chunk of stone. With 75 strength and at Ayame's attack's conclusion, the lycan had managed to lift the boulder above his head threateningly, albeit with his singular arm struggling a bit. With a thrust of his barrier hand to the side. the remains of Ayame's shocking water-snake would be thrust off in that direction, his barrier falling away as he hurled the boulder ahead of him with his other hand at a throwing speed of 100 and a power of 25. Such a projectile at least several meters wide and many more so tall, spinning end over end with the might of his throw, it would be exceedingly difficult for Ayame to dodge, and perhaps even harder to shatter. Meanwhile, the lycan would begin weaving his own handsigns, 3 of them in fact, before disappearing instantly, already hidden behind the girth of the boulder-projectile before appearing behind Ayame (speed 195), open palm extended, aimed to touch her shoulder. With the boulder still hurling her way, Salzem's palm would gently touch her skin, immediately a soft burning sensation could be felt as his chakra seared a mark-seal into her skin, letting him know exactly where she was if his senses failed him and she managed to escape his site. Without wasting another moment, The lycanthrope would retract his hand (speed 125) and take a step back, allowing the boulder to crash into the girl as it was initially intended.

Ayame watched as her electrified snake crashed into the barrier and began to disperse, however she would not allow that to happen. Upon noticing the snake come to a halt and attempting beginning to splash, the lightning instantly becoming grounded upon the hit and leaving the snake, Ayame would make the tiger hand sign at a speed of 110, manipulating the water into a mist at the speed of her reaction time, 170. As the visibility zero mist had been formed, Ayame activated her Yureigan and saw the boy begin to lift the boulder, appearing more-so as a giant shadow.
At that point, Ayame quickly, at the speed of 110, changed to the ram sign and body flickered to behind Salzem just as he threw the rock, at a speed of 191 and making sure to land softly on her feet to prevent him from hearing her as best as she could. As she prepared to strike him with Body Pathway Derangement, scaled power of 65, the speed of hit 110, strength 30, he was gone in an instant to where she had been prior, provided he still moved within the mist. If not, she would hit him square in the spine with this Jutsu, attempting to paralyze him for a bit (2 posts).
If he would continue with his prior actions, she would watch his aura, keeping an eye on him through the mist. Continuing on with the topic of "If he continues with his prior movements," she would then back up at a speed of 55 about 10 meters, keeping a close eye on him and making the hand signs of boar and rat to attempt the mist servant genjutsu technique. Due to her inexperience with this Jutsu having only idly read it before falling asleep a different night, she only created 3 out of the 10 illusionary phantoms. They had 0 health and could not injure salzem, however, two of them would form after he breaks one.
The first clone came at Salzem from Ayame's left (his right), at a speed of 55, taking the phantom Fuma Shuriken off her back at a speed of 110 and slashing at Salzem's right arm with it. Although this would normally give him no Damage, Ayame would throw a Shuriken, Scaled sharpness 65, throw speed of 110, that would hit him just as the Ayame clone would in the same place to help put on the illusion that she was right there. The first Ayame phantom clone thing would then jump back and begin running circles around Salzem at a speed of 55. At this point, the other two Ayame things would join in running circles, all while in complete control of the real Ayame. While holding that Jutsu she would put into place a substitution jutsu, prepared to substitute herself with the shuriken behind the boy if needed.
Ayame would smirk as he was being distracted by that technique and would run at him with a speed of 55 with her chakra scalpel activated, slicing him and stabbing him, being careful to just barely miss vital organs and spots, but cause a lot of pain. She attempted about five hits with chakra scalpel (scaled sharpness 66), a slice on his left shoulder, an abdominal stab, a vertical slice down the right front of his chest, a lateral strike from left- to right (in Ayame's perspective) and a diagonal slice from right right shoulder to left waist (Ayame's perspective again.) After that she would run back, attempting to evade any moves.
However, if he would counter or even touch her, he would find the limb which he used meeting her shuriken from a meter behind him as she attempted to use Body Pathway Derangement (provided this didn't work the first time, or she missed him due to his body flicker) hitting him square in the back (Scaled power of 65, speed of hit 110, strength 30) and then remaining vigilant to evade further should she need to.

Salzem instead kept the boulder by his side as Ayame's watery snake crashed into his barrier, of course still lifting it in the air but abstaining to throw it without a clear image of what he was looking at. Sure, he knew Ayame's precise location due to her scent being ever-present and the fact he could still hear her breathing from that particular distance, but he felt it was best to aim at something one can see as opposed to something one couldn't. Dropping the rock by his side, the boulder would hit the ground with a mighty crash, shaking all around. Without a word, Salzem's head began to shift into that of his lycan form (speed 150) and began attuning his enhanced senses to the visually vague world Ayame had just created. Even though they were useless, the lycan's sanguine eyes flicked about the super dense mist, trying to pin-point the sound of footsteps carefully concealed from a normal opponent, but from a beast such as he, not so much.
Suddenly, having figured out where Ayame was coming from, the lycan stepped to the side at a speed of 125 as Ayame's hand barely barely missed his back, a strange chakra radiating from her fingertips. With a snarl, Salzem would whirl around and clamp his teeth on Ayame's arm (speed 145, strength 20, sharpness 75 (dialed back to 40), easily cutting through her skin and muscle, possibly cracking a bone as his teeth reached those as well, a punishment for that surprise attack.
With another, muffled growl, the lycan, with a sharp twist of his neck, would release his grip on the girl's arm and toss her back into the mist from whence she came (10 meters, speed 150), the wolf-boy snarling with disgust at such a move. More or less he was disappointed she couldn't mask her movement completely, but then again, that would require her to hop in and out of dimensions and she certainly didn't have that power...... he didn't think. Still, even if she managed to mask her footsteps completely, her scent was stronger than that of mist, her movements were still too broad and obvious for him NOT to notice and her clothes still rustled against itself as she made movements, no matter how subtle.

How did he know where she was coming from? Ayame was taken aback when he simply sidestepped. She lost control of her body a moment, freezing up and never having encountered something like that before. Ayame was about to withdraw her arm when she realized it couldn't move. She looked to her right, seeing Salzem's aura, his head demonic and wolf-like, chomping down on her arm.
And then she felt it... the intense pain that came with it. She felt like she could barely breathe but then thought of something she could do. Trying to act quickly, she attempted to reach around to her extended arm but she couldn't use her fingers. She was going to attempt Chakra Anesthetic (hand signs of Hare, Ox and Monkey, attempted Speed of 110) to ease some of the pain but she couldn't get it to work as she lost most of the function in her arm. She knew it was an easy fix, but not a quick one by any means.
Ayame's eyes were watering both in frustration and pain as her arm was now shattered, her muscles torn, and her lifeless arm bleeding profusely.
The boy then threw her by the arm with those powerful jaws of his, but not as strong as he had bitten her, sending her flying about ten meters backward. (You are still in the mist, regardless, range can't be vagued it is 50 meters radius). Ayame hit the ground hard, falling under her good arm and pushing herself up. She refused to speak, knowing full well that she wouldn't be able to form words with the pain she was in.
Aya continued to make hand signs and used Chakra anesthetic on herself to numb the pain as much as possible as she attempted to heal herself, growling under her breath.
She was powerless to do anything offensively in that moment and she sat there, her arm torn and bloody, barely able to move and dropping to her side when she tore her muscles further trying to perform Jutsu. She attempted to stand herself up, trying not to look at her arm as it would only cause her more pain as it just hung there, Ayame barely being able to stand after that toss.
Ayame made the hand signs for Medical ninjutsu, holding it on her wound as she stared into the boy's eyes and as soon as she had finished, her left arm hung there uselessly, a little bit of her blood seeping into the sand below her arm. She watched him knowing that she was now at his mercy. If he wanted her dead he could easily have her dead.
"I get it, you've won," she said slightly annoyed. "How am I to learn anything if you take me out right away rather than push me to my limits?" Ayame noted, wincing in pain and barely able to form her words properly.

Using his enhanced senses, Salzem knew immediately heard where Ayame dropped to the ground and was there in a second (speed 125), appearing before her, ready to bite her again.... when what she said stopped him. Seemingly aware of his presence, Ayame (sarcastically almost) conceded defeat, annoyance clear in her voice. She asked how she was supposed to learn ANYTHING if he was taking her out immediately and leaving her incapable of learning anything. He cocked his head to the side, confused, as if she were asking why he was wearing a shirt today. Slowly, his head shifted back into the shape of that of a human, weaving a few of his own signs and pressing his glowing, green hands against Ayame's wound, the smell of her blood guiding the way, even through the mist that made him effectively blind.
"I thought I WAS pushing you to your limits." The lycan noted, nodding in the direction of her painful wound, even if she couldn't see his gesture. "You're down one arm, it's bleeding everywhere and you have a monster coming at you, hungry for more... If that's not pushing you to your limits, I don't know what is." The way he spoke was sincere, not joking or sarcastic in the least. He spoke as if he were merely stating a fact, one Ayame just didn't seem to get... She WANTED to be pushed to her limits, right? Well... taking an arm away made those limits a LOT easier to reach and expand upon later, not even taking into account the pain or blood. One would think she'd be thankful or at least continue the fight rather than give up right then and there, knowing she was at her limits and ready to push past them.
"Ayame... If you're going to succeed as a ninja, you can't let this little arm-thing stop you. Yes, I bit it and yes, I rendered it completely useless, but we're fighting right now! give me and yourself a little more credit... Human bodies are a lot tougher than most people think... I should know, as I'm adept in medicine."Once the blood stopped flowing and her skin closed neatly over the wound, The lycan would peer through the mist as best he could, looking in the direction he could only ASSUME was where her eyes were.
"Are you really going to let one hit stop you?"

Ayame dispelled the mist and deactivated her Yureigan upon the battle ending.
Assuming the lycan continued with the same actions, she would respond in kind, not able to meet his. It made her feel like a teacher was lecturing her. "I'm a Medic as well, and the force and power that you could put behind those attacks could mangle and kill me in an instant," Ayame spoke sincerely. "Literally there's nothing I could do against you. I can't make hand signs with only one hand, I've tried numerous times, but it doesn't work because I specialize in Medical Jutsu, not Ninjutsu." Ayame continued, "I have very few Jutsu that allow me to cast them without hand seals, so I was screwed either way. You could have maybe gotten one or two more hits on me and I would have been toast, literally. I say two because If I could see you coming I could use yin healing wound destruction, but then I'd be powerless to do anything other than attempt an attack with a weapon, which I don't think would work well given you are much faster than me." Ayame said.
"I call checkmate when I see it. There was no point to continue fighting. If this had been a real battle I would have stuck you with the best thing I could in those last two hits, as if it weren't all in vain, however, this is a spar, and I don't try to cripple my opponents in a spar. Paralyze them? Maybe. Cripple them? No."
Ayame sighed, "Besides, you aren't a monster" Ayame replied back brushing her hand against his cheek softly as if she were feeling for a fever but also attempting to move hair behind his ears, even though she wasn't.
"And you have to remember that my arsenal is limited. I'm only a genin. Granted it doesn't mean it's impossible to beat you, it is just very, VERY hard to do so." Ayame muttered.
"And to me, the idea of pushing one's limits doesn't come through beating them up like a sack of potatoes, Sal. At least it doesn't work that way for me. I mean look how wispy and sickly I am compared to all that muscle on you. Our builds are very different." Aya eventually stated withdrawing her hand to use to balance herself as the boy continued to heal her. "I'm a strategizer, a quick thinker, and a healer. I think outside the box more than I do in it. You're a muscley tai user if I have observed your actions correctly. Well, Tai and Medical I believe, unless you are using just basic medical ninjutsu, then it's possible there's something else there. More or less, the idea of pushing oneself to their limits is exhausting them... it's stamina, not speed." Ayame explained what she thought of the abstract idea, sounding almost Yen esque, but a lot easier to understand.

"Hokage's sake... You really are one BIG pessimist, aren't you?" Salzem looked up from his healing job, smiling at Ayame somewhat strangely as she ranted on about how many different ways she was screwed to Sunday after the bite he had delivered from her inferior speed to her lack of jutsu not requiring handsigns. It was actually kind of funny how she was trying to justify her loss to a friend who simply wanted to test her, making a snide remark about her wanting to DISABLE her opponents during a spar, not cripple them. Salzem smirked at that. Crippling WAS incompasitation though! So long as he didn't deal too much damage, he was able to take out entire limbs in a matter of brutal seconds as Ayame had just experienced. Efficient, reliable, easy.
"You don't simply call checkmate when the fight gets tough!" Salzem protested, looking almost as if she had insulted him with her statement. "How do you push your limits when your back is pushed up against a wall?" He glanced down at her arm, her flesh still stitching together as he spoke. "....Granted it was one hell of a wall, but come on... give yourself some credit. Human bodies are much tougher and we, as a people are much smarter than you're giving them credit for." He looked at her oddly before glancing back down at his work, shaking his head somewhat. "I bet you're coming up with strategies right now as I speak... Good on you."
Suddenly, Salzem felt Ayame's good hand on his cheek and, almost immediately, his face flushed with red, taken completely by surprise with this contact. Sure, he could take a hand-shake or punch without a second thought but this.... this gentle stroking of his cheek and then her pushing his long spiky black hair behind his ear, even if not intentionally. His eyes immediately flicked down to her palm holding his pale face before flicking back to hers questioningly. Ayame said nothing regarding his stare, instead, commenting how he wasn't a monster at all, causing his face to flush a whole new shade of red.
"I understand." Salzem muttered as Ayame stated that he needed to play nicer with her, that he was a lot stronger than she was tough, that he needed to draw out the fight as much as possible so that she could draw out her own potential. Only a moment later did the healing finish it's job and the lycan would pull away his hands, revealing her wounds to be completely healed, not even the evidence of a scar left behind. Still, Ayame's hand was placed upon his face, even as he finished healing her and he couldn't understand why. Why was she touching him like this...?

Ayame placed both of her hands on Salzem's shoulders and used him as a brace to help herself to stand up. If he wouldn't immediately follow her up, she would offer him a hand. "Thanks," She said shyly, unable to meet his gaze after seeing him blush.
"So, uh... do you wanna keep sparring then?" she asked at a complete and utter loss for words, finding some shyness growing in her chest, that she was almost afraid, but it was more of an exhilarated feeling.
"I mean, I'm trying to work on this new Jutsu, but it's really hard either way. It deals mainly with pheromones, as my clan does, well, that and auras. It's actually as if we deal in the non-physical realm entirely, you know?" She stammered trying to explain herself. "Either way, I would much appreciate another round or something of that sort."

"A-Actually..." Salzem muttered when Ayame asked if they should continue. "I just came this way to see if you were doing okay... I d-don't really want to fight now that... uh... you're doing better." In truth, these were all excuses for him to escape this madness and disappear back to his room. he absolutely HAD to force sleep upon himself so he could forget this entire incident and still maintain a not-so-awkward-friendship with her. Sure, it was merely a touch on the cheek but what could he say? Salzem got flustered easily.
"Uh... bye." And with that, he'd slam his hands into the ram-sign and disappear at speeds of 195, wishing he had just stayed in bed.
