Wedding Planning 101 Empty Wedding Planning 101

Spoiler:

Waking up to the sight of the beautiful sunrise made Nano start his day in an upbeat mood. Jumping around, he quickly finished his daily routines; brushing teeth, bathing, brushing hair, etc. Once he was ready to head out into the public, Nano remembered something. He had been informed by the lady at the mission counter that he and another genin had been picked to assist an engaged couple find a priest which was willing to bless their marriage. Seeing as the male in the relationship was a civilian while the woman was a shinobi, their family were shunning them and no priests had been willing to marry them.

While this sounded fairly simple, it would take quite a long time to finish so it was made an A ranked mission. If he completed it, it would be his very first A ranked mission. This excited him very much. Recently he had learnt his first A ranked jutsu and now here he was, about to start his first A ranked mission. He was going A rank crazy. Strolling to the mission counter for the necessary paperwork, Nano hoped that his partner would be easy to work with. He had heard of some ninja which he never wanted to work with and hopefully they wouldn't be one of them.

When he arrived, he grabbed the stack of papers and signed the designated sections before sitting on the convenient lounge which was placed in the corner of the room. Now, he would have to wait for his teammate to arrive before he could begin.

Valen would wake up that morning with a loud yawn before hopping out of bed and getting dressed. He pulled on the black combat boots, leather gloves and armor, and his crimson cloak before turning toward the mirror and shrugging at his hair. It pretty much always looked the same anyway. He then proceeded to grab himself a simple, yet filling breakfast before leaving and heading out into the Hoshi proper from his apartment. The village was busy this time of morning with bustling streets and civilians going about their business. He stepped off the edge of the building, landing safely on the ground in a flourish of his crimson cloak, before walking toward the mission center. He’d been contacted the day before about a mission he was assigned that would involve a partner. He had never been on a mission before and quietly looked forward to the experience. He moved through the crowd at a decent pace, moving around the people as they went about their day. His Hoshi headband glistened in the light of the sun off of his arm as he moved and he received more than a few glares from civilian people who tended to dislike shinobi. Many shinobi tended to dislike the civilians as well and it caused tensions to almost always be high.

He continued toward the mission center, making decent time and figuring he might get there not long after his teammate did. As he stepped into the building the cool air make him almost give a sigh of relief as he walked in. He stopped a moment, letting the air cool him a bit before looking around. He quickly spotted the form of a small boy, no older than twelve. He wore black ANBU pants, a white t-shirt and a brown jacket. He had brown hair and striking blue eyes. He seemed to be filling out the forms required for a mission and Valen had the feeling this was his partner. He move to stand in front of the boy and would wait for the youth to notice him. When he did Valen would give him a polite inclination of his head and say “Valen..” in introduction. A man of few words indeed. If the youth didn’t acknowledge him he would simply give the same one word introduction without nodding and proceed to sit down next to the boy. Waiting for him to introduce himself.

When another man walked in and introduced himself, Nano figured this would be his partner for today. So far he didn't seem too bad. He was wearing an intimidating set of clothes but that didn't
perturb Nano. Wearing crimson red or the darkest of blacks wasn't unusual for ninja to wear so he was used to things such as that. Seeing as he had already signed the mission papers, his partner would not need to so he decided to begin the mission. "The name's Nano Gōka, pleased to meetcha!" He spoke in happy voice. If he wanted to get this mission over with, he would need to get along with his teammate so making good first impressions would make things all the better for him so he decided to say to Valen, "Meet me at 15 Evergreen Terrace, it's the address of our clients" then he made the single boar handseal to use the body flicker technique.

Disappearing in a puff of smoke, Nano began moving at 110 speed due to the jutsu. Fortunately, the address was fairly close to the mission counter so Nano was able to "teleport" there in a single body flicker. When he arrived he found the sight of a small but cosy looking home.  The grass on the front lawn looked freshly mown and the walls of the house freshly painted. Overall, it was a nice place to live. Seeing as he had reached the house before his teammate, he sat down under a nearby tree and waited for any sign of him entering the area. When his partner arrives, he would then knock on the door and tell the client of their role in their little predicament.

He would then take them around town and explore the many religious shrines and churches, searching for a priest which would be able to bless the marriage. Hopefully he wouldn't have to take care of the client's relatives like he was warned in the mission briefing but he could never be sure.

Valen would nod at the boy as he told him the address ‘15 Evergreen Terrace isn’t far, it shouldn’t take me too long to get there.’ He’d think as he turned after the boy disappeared with a ninja technique. He’d have to learn it later if he wanted to be able to even remotely keep up with the kid. But that would be the plan for later. He stepped out of the mission office and turned to move down toward the destination, moving at a decent clip through the crowd he simply ignored the dirty looks and hateful glares from many of the civilians. They wouldn’t try anything physically harmful of course. At least not out in the open like this, but they would glare at you with the hatred of a thousand suns. Most Shinobi responded with kindness, more glares, and in very rare cases anger. Valen preferred the apathetic approach. He didn’t care what they thought of him, it was his job to protect them and so that’s what he would do. Like pet’s...He pushed that thought from his mind almost as soon as he had it. It wasn’t very kind after all. Soon he would turn onto Evergreen Terrace and down the way see a well taken care of, cozy little home. He would walk up to Nano who he noted was waiting for him. When he arrived the boy would knock on the door to gain the client’s attention. At that point Valen would reach over and untie his headband, putting it into his pocket so that when they were walking around the town there wouldn’t be any issues with the civilians seeing them escorted by shinobi. After a moment or two a young man would answer the door. He had short, spiky brown hair and was about Valen’s height. He was of a muscular build, as if he lifted weight despite a lack of shinobi training.

Soon after came his fiance. She was up to his shoulders in height, as a kunoichi she was obviously in great shape and she looked as if she was an experienced kunoichi...Who was at the end of her rope. Valen would make eye contact with her and see her pain over the situation. All she wanted was to marry the man she loved. He gave her a slight nod, indicating that he would make sure it got done. She looked at him with a look of gratitude and she smiled softly. Nano would’ve already introduced himself by now he was sure so he went ahead and did the same. ‘Valen…’ He would say simply before turning and motioning down the street. They’d begin walking toward the first church on their list. Valen would walk with Nano and the love birds would move with each other through the crowded streets. Valen would keep a careful eye out as they moved to the first church.

As soon as Nano saw his partner arrive he knocked on the door. When he saw the muscular man and the ragged kunoichi step outside of their door, he introduced himself. While Valen introduced himself he took the time to untie his shinobi headband and stuffed it inside of his pocket. When everybody had been introduced, the man being named Fred and the woman being named Alice, they began the arduous task of find a willing priest. The first church they were going to was quite a short distance from them so the trek wouldn't take too long. Walking next to his teammate Valen, Nano started a conversation. "I hope this doesn't take too long. I'm not much of a religious person. By the way, I haven't seen you around before this. Are you a new genin or something? I assume you are a genin anyway seeing as chunin and above can do missions such as this alone."

After saying that, Nano watched as the engaged couple whispered to each other before giggling and kissing. Nano was tempted to yell at them for the public display of affection but didn't for many obvious reasons. One, they were his clients and they were going to be the ones paying him. Two, they were a newly engaged couple. And three, he wasn't a mean person like that. When they would arrive at the first location, Nano would peek his head through the door. Fortunately for them, Hoshigakure was such a religious village that even on days other than Sunday the priests still resided in their churches. Should they decide to enter immediately, Nano would push the doors open wide enough to allow the couple as well as Valen entrance. He would then call out for the person living inside, listening to the echoing throughout the gigantic architectural masterpiece.

Nano would then wait for a response, wriggling in his skin as he had always disliked buildings such as this. He had no problem with people wanting to learn religion but personally it was never a thing he could stand. Honestly, the worst thing so far for him was that he wasn't able to use any ninja techniques to speed up the process due to the fact that the few civilians scattered around the streets wouldn't be afraid to ruin their chances with the holy person by yelling at them.

Still waiting for a response, Nano would then step back and allow the couple to be ahead of him and his partner as he believed it was their job to gain the trust of the priest and that they would only back them up if it was absolutely necessary. Besides, the woman in the relationship was a kunoichi and the man looked like he could hold his own fairly well.

Wedding Planning 101 Empty Re: Wedding Planning 101

Valen nodded his head at the young boy in assurance “I am new yes..” He would say as Nano held the door open for them. He would incline his head again in a polite nod of gratitude as they stepped inside. The church was as you might expect to find, lined benches for the people here to pray and listen to the priests and reverend as they spoke of the very beings they believed to be all encompassing in their lives. The ceiling was high up with stained glass windows that Valen himself would be fairly impressed in the craftsmanship of. He would continue to observe his surroundings as the couple spoke to the priest, pleading their case and hoping that he would say yes. So far things didn’t seem like they were going too bad, he was all smiles and nods of understanding. That didn’t always make things go well though. He himself didn’t particularly care for religion, it was the people’s choice of course, and he could certainly understand the desire to believe in something of a higher power. Something great enough for you to warrant putting your full belief in, but he couldn’t really see himself doing that. He preferred to do thing with his own hands and to get power through his own means. Take the elemental chakras for example. He needed to obtain the fire element. A lot of people might sit there and pray for help from above when it came to obtaining said element. He however would simply sit there and try to work for it. It’s not like they weren’t just standing there.

As such he closed his eyes and began to focus on his chakra. His normal elemental chakra was lightning, the quick, darting, energetic element was almost the polar opposite of how he truly acted. But he was going for the more furious fire element. The raging fury that composed of it and the gentle warmth that helped people in tough times. He began to focus his chakra on these thoughts. Working on making the chakra into fire chakra. He held his hands together, making an upside steeple form (Shikamaru’s thing) and would try to generate a small flame in that area. He concentrated his chakra and slowly a small flicker of chakra would form. It wasn’t a small flame though, so he would have to work on that. He began to focus more intently on the fire element. The rage, the warmth, and the raw passion is represented. He would gain command of this element before long. He wouldn’t quit until he did after all.

While he worked on this he also heard the conversation, the priest was not willing to marry the couple. He was however more than happy to point out a smaller church that would be helpful to them. He couldn’t his church being damaged due to word getting out, but another church, ‘The Church of The Eternal Fire’ would apparently be more than happy to marry the two. He gave them directions that Valen knew wouldn’t be far from them and they turned and began to walk out, all a little more excited now that they might finally be able to marry. He was happy for them, even if he didn’t show it. He would take his hands from their steeple formation and fall in line behind them. He would tell the couple, but more importantly the trained kunoichi with them of the risk in going to this place. Lest she be too excited at the prospect of marriage to think it through. “Remember, he could easily be leading us toward a trap...A fight in his church would damage the building. Keep sharp, and be wary when we get to the other church..” He would mutter to them in what was definitely the longest sentence he had ever said so far. The kunoichi would gain a hardened look in her eye at the prospect of someone attacking her with her husband there and nodded her head in understanding.

Valen would continue along the way, keeping his own eyes sharp for the couple and wary of any traps that might be on the path. There weren’t many people out at all in this part of town so it could easily be some sort of ambush. He would glance at Nano, intent on seeing if he was wary of the situation. If he was then Valen would simply look away and continue to be on the lookout. If he wasn’t Valen would give him a slight nudge with his elbow “Be wary Nano..” He would say simply if that were the case. They would move through the streets until getting to the street that they were heading toward ‘Everglade Pass...Must all have been planned by the same city planner..’ He thought as they turned onto the road and moved toward the looming church building in the distance.

Wedding Planning 101 Empty Re: Wedding Planning 101

Thu Mar 16, 2017 7:47 am
While the couple were conversing with the holy person of the church, Nano noticed his partner passing the time by using elemental manipulation. This intrigued Nano as his teammate was supposedly a new shinobi. New ninja rarely attempted such feats of using two elements at such an early stage but if that was the case for Valen he would commend him for it. From the looks of it, he was trying to use the fire element. He could tell this by the small flames licking at his thumbs when he was channeling his Chakra. The majority of Valen's Chakra was lightning, fluctuating around his fingers but the slight tint of orange around the edges was evidence enough that fire was somewhere in the mix, however small it might have been. Seeing as he had recently learnt how to use the fire element, Nano decided to subtly offer his help to his partner by copying his actions silently but making sure it was just a small fire in his hand, none of his wind Chakra whatsoever. If his partner wished for help, he now knew that Nano was able to do so.

When the conversation between the kindlooking religious man and the couple ended, Nano overheard what Valen told the engaged duo. His reasoning was sound so Nano made sure to be wary should he be right. Of course, he couldn't seem too wary as that would blow their cover and cause the possible ambushers to change their plan. He could not show that he was a shinobi otherwise they would make sure to bring out the big guns. Making people underestimate them was one of a ninja's greatest tools. Underestimating an opponent is what causes most Kages to be brought down. Seeing as the location of the next church they had been directed to was fairly close, Nano was tempted to use a body flicker considering it was in the correct range but instead he decided to wait for the new genin. He was fairly sure Valen could not use the Body Flicker at this point in time nor could the civilian so it would make a better impression on his client if he stayed with them. Not to mention it would blow his cover as well as leave his client less protected. Overall, the shunshin was a terrible idea at the moment. It was a useful jutsu but would most definitely alert any nearby thug of his ninja status.

After the short five minute walk from the first church to the next, he would finally stop in front of the address given. It was a church alright. The only problem was that it was surrounded by protestors. Obviously this case was more famous than they had thought. From the faces of the couple, he could see that they were heartbroken. From the look of betrayal on their faces, Nano guessed that most, if not all of the protestors were family members of the two. The people around the sacred building were holding up signs saying things ranging from things like, "Say no to this marriage yo!" to things like, "Fuck the demons! Burn them!" It was appalling to see just how bad things had gotten in Hoshigakure. For people to go to such lengths just because of this, it was difficult to comprehend. Imagine what would happen if this was what happened all around the world. Everything would be chaos. Why couldn't these imbeciles just understand that shinobi and kunoichi are just trying to help? Nano could understand that religions might cause people to believe such things but one would think that after seeing "demons" rescuing people it would get through their thick skulls.

He loved his village but sometimes he just got so frustrated. Other than the ignoramuses that were lining the perimeter of the building, the church itself was beautiful. While it was small, it still felt grand and imposing. The large windows were tinted blue and the door was nonexistent, a giant archway replacing it. It seemed like the kind of place he would go to if he were religious seeing as he wasn't much of a fan of crowds. Eventually deciding that enough was enough, Nano began formulating a quick solution. He could always try fighting his way through but there were way too many to make a path for the couple. Maybe he could have gotten through alone but it was impossible for him to clear a path seeing as the man had no shinobi training.

With fighting crossed off the list, Nano kept thinking of ways to solve the dilemma. After a few moments of pondering, he spoke up and asked for suggestions from the others. "If you people have any idea what we should do, I'm all ears."

Wedding Planning 101 Empty Re: Wedding Planning 101

Mon Mar 20, 2017 10:00 am
Valen had caught the use of chakra next to him and had glanced over at Nano to see him flawlessly using the chakra nature that he himself was attempting to use. His eyes narrowed as he saw the boy trying to let him know that he could help. Little did his fellow genin know that he already had given him everything he needed. He had been subconsciously using his lightning element in the chakra as well. Attempting to mix the two by accident, he filed away the idea for that later on. But the point was that he needed to try using fire chakra without using any lightning at all. When they arrived at the church and saw the mob of protesters Valen grunted in annoyance. He wanted to get these two in there so they could marry, but he didn’t know how they were going to go about doing it. He glared at each of the people in turn, angry at such an outrage to family. He noticed a few of them flinch under his hard glare and an idea came to him. These people were afraid of what they were trying to do. They were afraid of what was occurring, not outraged. They simply didn’t want their lives to change on such a scale yet. Realizing this he stepped up in front of the group and added chakra to his voice to speak louder. “Everyone listen..” He would begin, he would then await their silence which after a few moments didn’t seem to be occurring. This let loose an unbridled rage within Valen, but he kept his cool and masterfully suppressed that emotion before adding chakra to his voice again and yelling louder. “Listen please!” He would yell, but to no avail, no one would quiet down their chants and screams of protest to what they saw as an abomination. Valen did not anger easily, but the very fact that these people seemed to want to see members of their own families be unhappy, or dead, rather than see them flourish as individuals, as a couple. All because one of the two of them decided to learn how to defend herself and fight for those she wanted to protect angered him greatly. Adding to the fire that was quickly rising within him. He finally snapped, throw both hands to the ground as he unconsciously channeled his anger and hatred into it and force lightn-I mean fire shot out of his hands and onto the ground. “LISTEN!” He would yell as two columns of fire shot out of the ground beside him. The crowd shut up immediately as the columns shot up into the sky, shocking everyone present. “You’re family for god’s sake!” He would yell as the fire died down. He certainly had everyone’s attention now. Valen was known around town as being very quiet and calculative. This was most definitely out of the character for him.

His crimson eyes were unwavering as he looked into the crowd, making eye contact with each, and every person before continuing. “You should be supporting each other! Not trying to kill each other and make each other hate their lives!” He would yell out next, getting a few people to look down guiltily in the process. He would then point at the woman he was escorting. “She gave up her time...her energy..and risks giving up her life to protect herself...her village...and her family..” He would say, the last words would cause half of the crowd the wince instantly as he took a deep breathe and moved on, point at the man he was helping to escort next. “He saw that dedication, that love and devotion to protect her home and family and fell in love..and yet you hate him for that..” He would say, causing the other half to wince as well as the words finally set in. “Shinobi aren’t here to hurt you..We aren’t here to scare you..We’re here to protect you..and our home. To make it a better place for everyone.” He would continue as he pointed toward the woman, Nano, and himself. “We made that choice...and yet you ostracize us for it..she fell in love with a man who loved her, and yet you try to scheme and murder her for it..What kind of monsters are you?..” He asked as he lowered his tone, bringing the passionate speech to close.

One by one the people in the crowd would begin to move out of the path of the group, one by one they would start running into the church to make sure the devout there would be willing to have the ceremony there on short notice. Soon the entire crowd was running around trying to help in anyway, with a few of the older crowd moving toward the couple and bowing in apology before pulling them up to prepare them. A wedding was a memorable occasion after all, and they should have many fond memories of it. Valen nodded his head in satisfaction as his temporary anger passed. He brought a hand up and caused a flicker of fire chakra to form instantly, smirking softly as he managed to get the element down in his anger. He sighed in content at this before turning toward Nano and nodding his head toward the church entrance. They might as well head inside so that they could help out as well, or at least get out of the desert heat. He would think back to the technique that Nano used before, the one that allowed him to move incredibly fast. He wondered if he could do that. He’d read about the technique in class while he was there and decided to give it a try. He quickly performed the ram seal and gathered his chakra, forming it throughout his body as he augmented his physical ability with it. He would suddenly move at a much higher speed than he had before, moving into the church almost much faster than he had expected. He would stop quickly enough and catch onto one of the pews that lined the inside of the church before nodding his head at the quickly learned technique.

Wedding Planning 101 Empty Re: Wedding Planning 101

Tue Mar 21, 2017 5:10 am
Just as he was about to make up some plan on the spot, his teammate spoke up. Nano hadn't known him for all that long but from what he could tell, yelling at a huge mob was definitely unusual for him. He was more of a calm and collected sort of individual but from what he had just done, you wouldn't know it. This was not a bad thing however, the only thing which could possibly control the raging yells of the crowd was being louder and meaner than the crowd itself. Seeing Valen step up and change the entire mob's mind was inspiring to watch. It almost brought a tear to his eyes. Nah, he wasn't that kind of person. One thing that really interested Nano was the fact that Valen had used fire element. To learn something like that in such a short timeframe was an amazing feat. Maybe the elements are easier to control when you aren't attempting to control them. For him, it had happened in a C ranked mission when he was struck by a falling object. For Valen, it had occurred when he was in a great rage. Not too much of a difference.

Having the entire mob part ways all at once was a sight to behold. It was amazing what a single speech could do to people. All of this just because his partner had taken them on a guilt trip to make them realise their mistakes. He had never seen such a great reaction for a speech. Being able to do things like that was a life goal for Nano. When Valen burst forward into the church almost falling over, Nano burst out in laughter. He remembered perfectly well him doing extremely similar when first performing the body flicker. He had crashed straight into a tree. One of the major differences was that he had been taught by Ayato-Senpai whereas Valen had simply watched him doing it earlier on in the mission. Once again an amazing feat. He was impressed. He must have a knack for things like this. Walking up to his teammate, Nano slapped him on the back before congratulating him on both learning the fire element as well as the body flicker. Now all that was left for the mission was to oversee the wedding itself.

Since the wedding couldn't start until the bride and groom were finished getting ready, Nano decided to spend his time doing some jutsu practice. Seeing his partner who he was beginning to see as a friend produce those flames earlier had given him inspiration to try out a new fire jutsu which he had seen earlier in the week. It had been performed by someone who looked strong, much stronger than himself. While that meant that it would most likely be difficult to learn, Nano was sure he would be able to do it. From what he had seen, the man had called out 'Great Fire Annihilation!' whilst doing a single Horse handseal. Seemed simple enough.

The main reason Nano wished to learn this was because it was basically a 70 metre long and 50 metre wide fire. How could someone not want that? Even a pacifist couldn't say no to that, even if it was just to look cool but not actually use. He of course would use it though, how could he not?! From what he could tell this was an A ranked jutsu so this would be the second one in his repertoire. Walking outside the church through the large doors, Nano stepped into a nearby field. The field was 200 metres long and about 50 metres wide so it would be perfect for trying out the technique.

Doing the single horse handseal, Nano pumped his fire based Chakra from his stomach through his throats until finally releasing it. The fire burst forward at an incredible pace (60 speed), heading towards the other end of the field. When it finally stopped it was at it's peak 70 metre length and 50 metre width. He had actually done it in a single try! How was that even possible? Repeating what he had done before to replicate it, he saw the same fire burst forward once again. It wasn't a fluke! He had actually gotten it right! This was extremely surprising for Nano as he had taken many, many tries when he had learnt his first A ranked jutsu, Beast Tearing Palm. Seeing the kunoichi who was about to be married walking towards the church from who knows where walking side by side her father put a smile on his face but also announced the fact that he needed to hurry up and get inside. Using the body flicker, Nano 'teleported' in a blur of speed (110 speed) into the church, frightening the family member he happened to land next to. Heading over to a corner of the building, Nano would motion for Valen to follow suit before standing straight and looking over the crowd of seated people to get a good look at the bride and groom.

The man was standing at the front holding a bouquet of red roses. He was wearing a traditional black tuxedo with a white undershirt and a red bow tie. He was shaking with either fear or excitement, Nano could not tell which. When the bride entered the room, everybody gasped in disbelief. She looked amazing! How one could put that together in such a short amount of time, no one would ever know. She walked down the aisle next to her father who looked ready to cry. This was the day his little girl would finally settle down. Stepping up the stairs, the bride stood next to her husband and the priest while the father parted ways with his daughter and found his seat next to the mother. If one looked closely, you could see a single tear trailing down the side of his face.

Now that they were all present, the ceremony was ready to begin. Nano didn't really pay attention to the more religious section of the wedding but he made sure to look up and listen when the vows began and from there onwards. It went as so:

I take you as you are, loving who you are now and who you are yet to become. I promise to listen to you and learn from you, to support you and accept your support. I will celebrate your triumphs and mourn your losses as though they were my own. I will love you and have faith in your love for me, through all our years and all that life may bring us.

I love you unconditionally and without hesitation. I vow to love you, encourage you, trust you, and respect you. As a family, we will create a home filled with learning, laughter, and compassion. I promise to work with you to foster and cherish a relationship of equality knowing that together we will build a life far better than either of us could imagine alone. Today, I choose you to be my wife. I accept you as you are, and I offer myself in return. I will care for you, stand beside you, and share with you all of life’s adversities and all of its joys from this day forward, and all the days of my life.

Today I promise you this: I will laugh with you in times of joy, and comfort you in times of sorrow. I will share in your dreams and support you as you strive to achieve your goals. I will listen to you with compassion and understanding, and speak to you with encouragement. Together, let us build a home filled with learning, laughter and light, shared freely with all who may live there. Let us be partners, friends and lovers, today and all of the days that follow.

Alex, you are my best friend. I promise to laugh with you, cry with you, and grow with you. I will love you when we are together and when we are apart. I promise to support your dreams and to respect our differences, and to love you and be by your side through all the days and nights of our lives. -Sam

Do you, Alex promise to be a loving friend and partner in marriage, to talk and to listen, to trust and appreciate, to respect and cherish Sam's uniqueness? Do you promise to support, comfort, and strengthen him through life’s joys and sorrows? Do you promise to share hopes and dreams as you build your lives together, and to grow with Sam in mind? Will you strive to build a home that is compassionate to all, full of respect and honour, filled with peace, happiness, and love? Do you promise to always be open and honest with Sam, and cherish him for as long as you both shall live? -Priest

I, Alex take you, Sam to be my husband. I promise to always be your biggest fan and your partner in crime. I promise to create and support a family with you, in a household filled with laughter, patience, understanding, and love. I vow not just to grow old together, but to grow together. I will love you faithfully through the difficult and the easy. What may come, I will always be there, each one believing that love never dies. As I have given you my hand to hold, so I give you my life to keep.

I, Alex, take you Sam to be the husband of my days, the companion of my house, the friend of my life. We shall bear together whatever trouble and sorrow life may lay upon us, and we shall share together whatever good and joyful things life may bring us. With these words, and all the words of my heart, I marry you and bind my life to yours.

I, Alex, choose you Sam to be no other than yourself. Loving what I know of you, trusting what things I will discover. I will respect you as a person, a partner, and an equal. There is little to say that you haven’t already heard, and little to give that is not already freely given. Before you asked me, I was yours and I am devoted to you in every way. I marry you with no hesitation or doubt, and my commitment to you is absolute. Do you take me to be your lawfully wedded wife?

I choose you. To stand by your side and sleep in your arms. To be joy to your heart and food for your soul. To learn with you and grow with you, even as time and life change us both. I promise to laugh with you in good times and struggle alongside you in bad times. I promise to respect you and cherish you as an individual, a partner, and an equal, knowing that we do not complete, but complement each other. May we have many adventures and grow old together.

Today, surrounded by people who love us, I choose you Sam to be my partner. I am proud to be your wife and to join my life with yours. I vow to support you, push you, inspire you, and above all love you, for better or worse, in sickness and health, for richer or poorer, as long as we both shall live.

I take you to be my spouse. I promise to choose you every day, to love you in word and deed, to do the hard work of making now into always. To laugh with you, cry with you, grow with you, and create with you. To honour the divinity in you, of you, and around you. To be your kin and your partner in all of life’s adventures. Loving what I know of you and trusting what I don’t yet know, I give you my hand. I give you my love. I give you myself. Will you give me yourself? Will you come travel with me?

I, Alex, do pledge you, Sam, my love, for as long as I live. What I possess in this world, I give to you. I will keep you and hold you, comfort and tend you, protect you and shelter you, for all the days of my life. -Sam

(Vows and stuff over)
Wiping a stray tear from his eye, Nano stepped out of his position and decided that since the wedding had ended it was now time he went back to the mission office and retrieved his rewards. He would wave his partner over and walk slowly back to the mission desk. When he would arrive he would promptly sign the sheets and get on with the rest of his day. Today had been a successful mission and he had full intentions of having a long, peaceful nap once he arrived home.
