Re: Complacency Kills [Sento]

"Well," Ashi spoke quickly yet calmly. "Instead of standing there gaping why don't you jump up there with the driver?"
The Inuzuka woman gestured up to the coachman who sat atop the front of the carriage keeping the horses in check. She certainly didn't expect the boy to ride in the back as, more likely than not, he would only make things worse. Of course, she, as much as she would have liked to, she couldn't blame the boy for his shock. After all, Ashi herself had much the same reaction to her earlier forays into the medical field. For some reason the more she learned the less significant human life seemed to be.
"You'll ride with them to the gates and guide them safely to the hospital. Once there make sure they are admitted to the maternity ward."
The woman paused a moment to allow her words to sink in.
"Do you understand?"
Her instructions were quite clear. However, stress did strange things to one's ability to interpret reality. Odd how that works, no?
"Then get going," she'd respond if Sento confirmed his understanding.
With the carriage and Sento moving off into the distance, Ashi returned to the outpost. Well, that was one way to get rid of the Senju kid. The rest of the the anbu's day was comprised of whiling away the last few days of daylight till operative Parrot returned for the evening.

Ashi gave Sento a bit of a hard time for his earlier bit of shock upon seeing the pregnant woman, which to the Senju was understandable, his reaction could have been seen as harsh to the woman and reflected poorly on konoha. Ashi then began to give him his orders and his head would look upwards to listen intently. And after careful review it appeared he was going to be responsible for escorting the couple to the konoha hospital so that they would have an easier time getting there. When the konoha anbu he knew as Ashi asked him if he was understanding her orders he gave a diligent nod before turning and heading to the front of the wagon.
“Leave it to me boss!” He’d shout backwards as he hopped onto the front of the carriage with the driver. “Let's go!” He’d motion in a hurried state, there was no reason for them to remain here any longer. This woman needed to get to the hospital as soon as possible. The man would in response pull upwards on the reigns before slamming them down harshly, causing the horses that pulled the carriage to push forward and send the group into motion.
The ride itself didn’t take long, they were moving on carriage after all, and Sento had walked to the outpost himself just this morning. They were at the gates within three minutes and with sento at the front the guards simply moved to the side recognizing him from earlier this morning and being able to tell that the young senju was on an extremely urgent task. The white haired boy would wave to the hulking armor clad guards as he passed them thanking them for their understanding and continuing down the main road of konoha, having to yell for civilians to move out of his way, as the vast and plentiful crowds on the market street blocked his way.
While all this was happening he could hear the screams from the lady in the back of the carriage and just hoped that the male of the two knew at least a little something about delivering a baby. But his troubles were eased when he could see the giant red cross of the Konoha hospital appearing slightly up ahead. They’d be there in less than three minutes and he could hand this task over to someone much better suited than himself.
As the three minutes passed by he would hop off the wagon upon arriving at the hospital and would quickly hop into the back creating two would clones in order to assist with moving the woman, so that he could support her without any part of her body dipping. The three sento’s would let the man that had been standing by her side for so long take a quick breather as he carried the woman to the front of the hospital and located the first nurse they could.
“HELP!” He’d yell, he was pretty sure he didn’t have to say exactly what the woman needed help with considering her physical attributes but just in case it wasn’t clear he’d give a detailed account of the events that had transpired after he had gotten the woman onto a stretcher and ensuring she was in good hands of course. Besides, Ashi had been quite clear that he was supposed to ensure she got to the maternity ward safely, and he wasn’t gonna leave until he had confirmed that he had done just that.
Walking down the hallway with the nurse they’d stop just short of the door and the woman would be brought in where professionally trained hospital staff were awaiting to help her with the delivery of her child. Sento breathed a sigh of relief as he brought about an end to his first C rank mission, before leaving the hospital after saying goodbye to both the man and woman of course.
