Alice had seen this done multiple times already in her life. It was a simple technique used by many shinobi. Even recently she had come across some that used it to their advantage. It allowed the placer of the seal to do several different things such as track or summon the person that the seal was placed on. What an incredible invention the Mark Seal was. So simple and easy to learn, yet so useful with the right ingenuity. Luckily for Alice, she was a genius. So of course, seeing the potential of this seal made her decision to learn it herself. She had already thought of several other uses for it in conjunction with her specialty shadow ninjutsu. 

The girl was sitting in her own room in a dingy hotel somewhere near the black market. It was known to all as the 'social zone' where rogues of all types came together in a peaceful setting to do as they pleased. Of course, peaceful was probably the wronf word considering the very nature of these individuals, but it was accurate enough. Her room was the best the shithole hotel had to offer. The clerk at the desk was easily persuaded by the pretty young Nara to give her everything she asked for. What a helpful moron he was. Inside the room, Alice was sitting on her bed with a small blank scroll placed in front of her. Several books and scrolls on fuinjutsu properties and implementations lay sprawled out around her open to different pages on fuinjutsu arrays and chakra styles. There was only one page about the mark seal in an obscure book that was obviously meant to teach beginners about the arts of fuinjutsu. Just another testament to how simple this particular seal would be to master. And that was where Alice began.

On the blank scroll in front of her, there were a few tiny black dots, failed attempts at the correct form of this mark seal. If done correctly, the seal should disappear just seconds after being placed. It was only recognizable by chakra sensing doujutsu or someone trained in the arts of fuinjutsu specifically. These, obviously, were not fully mastered since they were still completely visible. Taking her time to center herself and refocus her chakra, Alice tried for the fourth time to gather the specific amount of chakra she needed into the tips of her fingers on her left hand. She kept the knowledge of what the seal was intended to do in her mind as she reached down slowly and meticulously to touch the blank scroll once more. The seal was placed just as it had been on her first few attempts. The girl watched expectantly as she waited for it to disappear. A few seconds went by and nothing happened. She was about to re-examine the page when finally it disappeared. She had done it. The mark seal was placed correctly by her own hands. Excited with her new achievement, Alice threw herself backward onto her bed and closed her eyes deciding to take a nap.
