Transformation Technique

The transformation technique, a technique far more advance than the current E ranks Tsuki know. She had heard about it from the other academy students who mastered it. They said that this was far more challenging, and that it took them an entire month before they were able to effectively perform it. Of course, hearing this excited Tsuki, so she chose to learn this technique before mastering the others. She loved challenges, so she made it her goal to learn this technique and master it within a day.

"Okay... let's see now," she said as she read the transformation technique scroll. The instructions were pretty clear; perform the tiger, boar and ram hand sign, focus your chakra all over your body and then transform yourself. The real problem was maintaining the form for a long period of time. Tsuki knew perfectly how to control her chakra, but she had never focused on keeping her chakra active for a long duration, so this would be new to her.

Her setting was in her room, at her house. She had locked her door so that her brothers wouldn't get in. Her hopes were that she would have some privacy, but she knew better than anyone that a mere door wouldn't keep her brothers away. It was the best she could do, though, since her entire family were nothing but boys.

"First... Start with the tiger sign."

Tsuki made the hand sign, then moved onto the next step. "Then boar," she chanted before performing the final sign. "Then ram."

What came next surprised Tsuki. She focused her chakra on it floating throughout her entire body. It streamed through her arms, legs and chest like water looking for that final geyser to erupt from.

She had never experienced this feeling before, and it was very weird. Even still, she had to make use of it, otherwise she would not be able to perform the transformation technique. So, she allowed that chakra of her's to explode. Although, instead of streaming through one point of her body, it burst through all over her, covering her in a large cloud of smoke.

"Transformation!" she said as her jutsu took effect, having her morph from what she was before to something new: a small dog.

Her transformation was a poodle, but with more fur than usual. Her hair coloring was yellow and her eyes were blue, but everything else looked remotely similar to a dog.

Tsuki was so proud of herself for performing the transformation that she screamed out an excited "Yahoo!" However, instead of saying "yahoo" all she did was bark. Apparently, transforming into something else meant taking on their voice and traits as well. Tsuki didn't question it, she was just happy to be able to perform the technique.

She strutted around her room, getting used to her new form. After kicking her legs and hopping in the air to see how much of her power she retained, Tsuki jumped out of her window and onto the roof of her house. Before she could get there, though, she immediately turned back into a human.

"Interesting," she told herself. "I guess it does take a lot more focus to perform this technique."

Clone Technique

Later that day

This had to be one of the easier ninjutsu to learn: Clone Jutsu. It was pretty simple, perform the hand signs then extend your chakra. The goal was to make an exact copy of yourself. You had to first have a clear image of who you were, then you had to create a form akin to that image. It sounded completely complicated, but compared to the other cloning techniques out there, this was by far the easiest to perform.

"Let's get this over with," Tsuki said to herself. She stood on the roof of her home and performed the signs.

"Ram," she said as she made the ram sign. "Then snake, then tiger."

After everything was made, Tsuki released her chakra. "Clone Jutsu!" she shouted with great power. Her chakra extended in front of her, and she began molding it to match her size.

Afterwards, she pictured her appearance, from the color of her hair to the way her body was curved. Just to practice this, she had looked at herself in the mirror for an entire day, getting down the features of her body. She already knew what her eyes, lips and nose looked like. Her fingertips were easy to copy, but her figure was very hard to get down.

Nevertheless, she had learned what she looked like, and now it was time to put herself to the test. After clearly thinking up her image, she made the form.

A large white cloud of smoke summoned in front of her as her chakra was taken shape. It blasted to life before her very eyes, and when the smoke cleared, Tsuki witnessed her final product.

Standing before her, to her great surprise, was her very self. It was one thing to see your image in a mirror, but an entirely different thing to see it in real life. From the black hair the clone wore to its dirty feet, it perfectly represented her.

Tsuki looked at it wordlessly, and it looked back at her wordlessly. This was her first time ever performing a clone technique, and she had done it so well. Even she had impressed herself with this. However, there was something about this clone that made her curious.

"Can you talk?" Tsuki asked her clone. It didn't respond.

"Of course not," she said with a sigh. She knew that her father made special clones, ones that acted on their very own, and she also knew that her clone was just a pathetic excuse compared to her father's. A part of her was disappointed, but another part was proud that she had at least managed to create this clone. With this, her training was complete, and she would be ready for the genin exam soon.

Although, there was one thing Tsuki just had to test out.

"How much can you take?" she asked he clone. Surprisingly, it responded back with a tilt of the head, as though it didn't know what she meant.

"Don't worry," she told it. "I'll make this really quick."

She pulled back her fist then punched the clone hard in the gut. Immediately upon receiving the punch, the clone disappeared.

"Huh..." She said to herself as she was left alone on the roof. "You can't take that much, can you?"

Gentle Fist: Palm Bottom

The Next Day

Tsuki stared down at her palm, constricting it then letting it loose. She was examining it and testing her strength. It was unbelievable to think that she had become this powerful so far. Before she even got the byakugan, she was a weak little thing that relied on her brother to protect her. However, now she was strong enough to rival her brother in combat, and it was all thanks to her father.

Whether she felt a hint of gratitude, though, was undetermined. Although, she did remember everything that the man taught her. One such thing was the Gentle Fist: Palm Bottom.

For those unaware, the gentle fist was a style of fighting for the hyuga clan. It was a martial art that relied on expelling chakra from all tenketsu points. It was a rare style that only Tsuki and her hyuuga brothers could perform. One such attacks from that style was palm bottom, a simple strike which involved thrusting the bottom of her palm at a tenketsu point on the opponent, and causing internal damage. Even though small children could learn this technique, it was still strong enough to murder someone if used in the right hands.

Palm bottom was one of the first techniques she had ever learned, and one that she would never forget. The first time she used it was on a man that had startled her. She slammed him right in the gut, then he reeled back in pain. Tsuki remembered that well.

A slight smile appeared on her face as she recalled the event. The man had been hit so hard that he coughed up vomit. It was disgusting yet satisfying to her.

It'd been a long time since she performed the technique, though, so she might've forgotten a little of the steps. She was sure that it was impossible to forget the palm bottom, though she wasn't that confident.

There was only one way to find out for sure.

Tsuki stood in front of a punching dummy, her mind trying to remember the palm bottom steps. First, she needed to drop down to the gentle fist stance. Second, she needed to clear her mind and focus only on her one target.

Unwillingly, her mind raced back to the man that had startled her long ago. She was a mere younger, just learning about the gentle fist. The man had walked up to her out of nowhere, his face looking like that of a mugger's. Out of instinct, she reeled back her hand, awakened her byakugan, then struck.

Repeating her steps, Tsuki reeled back her hand. Her byakugan awakened, opening her to the world. Her eyes could see everything now; the training doll, the nest of birds above the tree behind her, her brothers in the other room who were watching tv, and many more. There was nothing that she couldn't see with her byakugan, and she loved it.

With great power, Tsuki stepped forward and her hand molded into an open palm. She thrusted it, hitting the doll right on the chest. This created great friction as air blasted back to her. She released chakra from the tenketsu in her hands, and the doll experienced even more power from her attack. It was so much strength, in fact, that the doll blasted off its hinge and backwards, crashing against the wall.

Tsuki stood straight, a satisfied smile on her face. "Yup," she said to herself, slapping her hands together victoriously. "I still remember it."

Genjutsu Release

A few hours later, at the Academy

"Are you ready?" Satoshi-sensei asked Tsuki.

The entire classroom paused and waited for her response. Shyly, she turned and looked at all her classmates. Some had intense faces on, and some were fearful, but most of were paying extra attention. Tsuki wasn't surprised, as this would be the first time they saw someone get put under a genjutsu.

The topic the students were learning about today was how to spot when they were under a genjutsu and get out of it. Tsuki didn't have much experience with the specialty yet, so she paid extra attention to make sure she knew everything in class. When the time came, and she faced an opponent that utilized genjutsu, she would be able to defend herself.

"I am ready..." she responded back.

The teacher nodded, then formed some hand signs. "Mist Servant Jutsu," he said under his breath, and everyone braced themselves for what would happen next.

At first, Tsuki didn't feel anything, but after 3 seconds of waiting, something happened. At the corner of Tsuki's eyes, she saw 10 versions of her suddenly emerge. They looked like phantoms, had no eyes, and wailed with Tsuki's voice. It was strange and both terrifying to her. They wore her clothes, took her face and even her walk. They copied her looks well, but kept the appearance of a misty ghost.

Before she'd panic and run out the classroom, Tsuki tried to calm herself. She closed her eyes and breathed in a deep breath.

This was a genjutsu, she told herself, and genjutsus can be easily broken. All she had to do was focus on her chakra. If she stimulated her chakra and forced it to flow a lot faster over her body, she would be free.

She held up the tiger sign and started to focus. First, she imagined her chakra. It was always easy for Tsuki to think of her chakra like a flowing river. It moved through her body like blood. However, it was more controllable, and she could decide where the currents were released. By adding a little more force, she could determine how fast it moved too. Thus, she imagined the river, and tides stirring the water, causing it to flow faster.

As she continued to picture this, the chakra inside her started moving, increasing to match the speed of her river. Eventually, her chakra was moving fast enough to break the genjutsu spell.

"Kai!" Tsuki screamed out.

Suddenly, everything disappeared. The 10 Tsuki's that stood over her, their bodies exactly like her's but with terrifying faces, dispersed like fogs being pushed away by wind. The moaning and terrifying voices she heard before also drifted away, and it was only Tsuki, her sensei and the students again.

Tsuki looked at her classmates, who had no idea what was going on, then back at her sensei.

"Did I do it?" she asked.

Satoshi-sensei nodded. "You did excellent work," he told her. "Remember, you may not always be able to know when you are in a genjutsu, but if you figure it out, you will always be able to use this technique. Build up your chakra, let it flow really fast, then release."

Tsuki gave a nod of her own then stood from her chair and walked away.

"Next student," she heard her teacher call out while she went back to her assigned seat.
