(Travel) The Sea beckons

Raven continued on his way in the forest, while reading the calligraphy scroll he had received from the mysterious old man. He was subconsciously moving and avoiding every obstacle in his way. He was so engrossed in reading the scroll that he didn't care for all the predators trying to grab a piece of him. Raven not minding them and casually avoiding the predators of the forest, was fulfilling that thirst inside of him. The thirst for knowledge was becoming too much for Raven to handle, thus the calligraphy scroll in his hands.

Raven quietly noted that the calligraphy strokes were somehow imprinting in his mind. He was always an avid reader and had the smarts to prove his genius intellect, but never in his life had anything come so easily for him as these calligraphy strokes. He had to always slog and read and learn for hours on end for him to completely grasp and master the knowledge he had set out to learn. But these strokes were imprinting in his mind as if they were a part of him. As if they were long lost siblings that had just now been reunited.

After reading through the whole scroll, quite a few hours had passed and was almost sun down Raven noted. He was so engrossed in reading that he completely forgot what he was going to further do. Stopping to collect wood to start a fire for the camp, Raven idly collected some fruits, and caught small prey for his dinner. Lighting the camp with his flint and steel and starting to cook the prey after prepping them, Raven in the meantime took a small slender stick and decided to practice his calligraphy strokes on the ground while the meat was cooking.

Raven knew that even though the strokes came easily he shouldn't take it for granted if he wanted to pursue his life ling dream of fuinjutsu. Thus he practiced and practiced his strokes, even after the meat was cooked and consumed he practiced. Not wanting any unfamiliarity in his strokes, he practiced till it way past midnight. Finally tired and exhausted Raven extinguished the fire and went up on a tree to sleep for the night.

Waking up early was difficult for Raven this day as he had gone long into the night practicing his strokes. He noted that he would need to buy some paper, and brush and ink to better practice his calligraphy. Putting away his musing to the back of his mind, he quickly packed everything he needed, washed his face and set out toward the direction he was traveling in.

Traveling for another few long hours in which Raven made sure to kill and hunt the predators to stave off his boredom, he was soon hit with the smell of sea and salt. Confused about his location, Raven soon climbed up the tallest tree in his vicinity to get a better viewpoint. And lo and behold Raven had backtracked and retraced his steps back to the sea. It was as if the sea was beckoning him. Even the last time he was near the sea he felt attracted to it. It was as if his attraction sub consciously decided his direction and led him to the sea once again.

The smell of sea and salt refreshed him, and he doubled his efforts and hastily started on his way back to the sea. Feeling refreshed and smelling the sea, something inside of him was invigorated, and that something was his chains. The chains were tumbling and restless inside of him. As if they wanted to taste the air themselves. Feeling his restless chains, he let out a sigh and decided to let them out. Though the chakra drain would be tremendous at least they would go back to being asleep.

He cautiously started activating his chains, but the chains would have none of that and burst out from his back, moving wildly and erratically as children playing near the beach. He even noticed that the drain was not as heavy as before, and he could easily start straining to use them with this amount of drain. Soon the chains calmed down and retreated back inside of Raven.

He let out a sigh at their antics and one again started moving towards the sea
