Growth: Ascension! Empty Growth: Ascension!

Jason had finally cleared all the conditions to move on to the next phase of his training. He could now become a true Senju, the symbol of the clan and possibly even the Hidden Leaf. It had taken quite some time, but he had finally mastered the use of both water and earth element chakra natures. The former came easily to him, not needing much practice at all to control. The latter, however, was the complete opposite. He struggled with getting a hold of it's use. It seemed unnatural to him somehow, even though he knew it was hardwired into his DNA. It had to be in order for him to access his clan's element: the famous wood release. It was exciting for, not only Jason, but also his father who had waited a long time to be able to help teach his son the secret techniques of the Senju clan. The boy knew his father would be so proud when Jason finally told him he was able to use the wood elemental chakra nature and wanted to finally start his real training.

Now he just had to get to the point where he could finally say he mastered the element. He hadn't told his father just yet; he wanted to wait until he had this down one-hundred percent. So that was why young Jason was here in the forest surrounding Konohagakure no Sato, the Village Hidden in the Leaves, today. After all, the best place to get in touch with the famous wood element that could be used to create trees was most certainly a forest full of trees. There were ample sources of mokuton to use during his training session. Making his way through the forest, Jason familiarizing himself with his chakra and began to differentiate all the different types that resided within his body. He had gotten quite used to this by now, separating out the natures he didn't need so that he could solely focus on the one that he needed to use. It was exactly how he had trained for the other techniques he's learned so far; well, most of them anyway.

After a what seemed like hours of aimlessly wandering around the forest, gracefully weaving in and out of the trees and stepping over fallen branches and protruding roots, Jason finally came to the spot he had been searching for. It was a small little clearing, only a few meters wide, encircled completely by large trees on every side. The branches above, covered by countless leaves, kept the sun from shining directly down into the clearing, but left enough light for the boy to see clearly in the dense forest. Having come out here to attune himself to nature and the essence of mokuton that resided inside his body, he thought this would be the perfect place for the training he had in mind.

Settling into a sitting position in the center of the clearing with his legs crossed under him, Jason closed his eyes and folded his hands low in front of him, directly in front of his belly. It was a serene position that helped him to meditate, which is exactly what he was about to do. He thought it was the best way to truly get in tune with nature and align himself with the wood elemental nature chakra affinity within his body. He took a deep breath, inhaling through his nose until his lungs were entirely filled with air, and then exhaling through his mouth until they were completely empty. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. He could feel his heart rate slowing as he focused on his breathing. Soon the racing thoughts that plagued his mind also began to dissipate. His mind was clearing, emptying itself of the inconsequential meanderings of a normal person and taking in the true essence of nature surrounding him.

His hearing got sharper, picking up the smallest of sound ranging from the wind rustling the grass to the pitter patter of tiny feet from high in the trees, no doubt made from squirrels and other little woodland creatures. He could smell the enticing aroma of flowers coming from every direction; lilacs and lavender plants stood out among them all. Slowly, Jason expanded his chakra outward, infusing the area immediately surrounding him with the wood elemental chakra nature he had separated out for this specific task. He felt like he was truly a part of the world around him. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. His breathing continued, pointed and slow. Finally, he felt something happening. His eyes were still closed and he was still in his meditative state, but he could feel little flowers beginning to sprout from the ground nearby. The stems of the plants escaping their earthly homes, growing ever higher until the colorful buds blossomed into beautiful flowers. First one, then two, then ten, twenty, thirty. Soon the small clearing was no longer simply housing a grassy pasture, but decorated with all sorts of beautiful flora. He knew that if there was anyone watching him now it must look as if the scenery was taken straight out of a famous painting.

He slowly stopped the ebb of chakra flowing outward from his body. He let the flowers reach their fully matured state before doing so, but eventually all of them had become grown and he stopped providing them with the energy required to speed up the process. It wasn't as draining as it had been previously. No, it wasn't actually draining at all. It was as if he was simply a part of nature itself and helping his extended body to grow more quickly into adulthood. Still, his breathing continued. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. He took one final deep breath, and then stood up. His eye lids slowly and pointedly lifted. The scene in which he saw before him almost brought tears to his eyes. It was breathtaking. He could hardly believe that all of this had been created by himself, that none of it had been there when he first arrived to this spot. What a truly exquisite ability this was, the power to command nature at his will. He was creating living things. Sure, it wasn't as complex as creating another human being or even an animal, with their own personalities and thought processes, but plants were just as alive as anything else in this world. And he could create them. For the first time in his life, Jason was truly beginning to appreciate just what his clan could truly do and what they stood for. This is what it was like to be a Senju.
