Stormchasers[Konoha's observation thread]

There were people running about this way and that. Parents could be seen gathering up their children from the streets and hurrying them inside their respective homes. Panicked whispers filled the air, concerns of what was happening just outside the village. Jason saw Jounin and even ANBU members dashing across rooftops in the direction of the gates. He himself was on the way there, both curiosity and an impulse to protect the village was driving him. When he finally got to the gates, perched on the top about 30 meters or so off the ground, he saw a lone figure standing in front of the gates. He had what looked like a Kage hat tied to his back, the Mizukage? Kirigakure was know famously for its isolationism. What could their kage possibly be doing all the way at the gates of konoha?

It was almost like deja vu. Deep in the back of the village and in a comfy house.  Yen was sitting comfy in his cloak the fire in the fireplace crackled in a warm fierce flame. His home nice and dry from the weather outside as his two children  held onto the bottom of his cloak. Yen kicked softly as he acted as a swing of sorts for the two young toddlers. It was all possible due his feet dangling above the ground by several inches.


 He smiled as his single eye glanced down at his two adorable twin children. Life truely was bliss. A rainy day to relax and keep low for a bit. 

All was peaceful untill he heard it. The sound that he least needed to hear at the moment. The alarm from the gate was distinct. As he flicked the page yen placed a book mark and slipped a vial or two from the drawer nearby. As aburame made sure to keep a farm of insects with them. It was to preserve the long generation of the aburame line and keep it pure. Hence yen made sure in case of an emergency he had the means to keep the bloodline safe. His children were the heirs to the line. 

The door knocked as the shadowy figure of an aburame stood at the door whispering  a few things behind the door. 

"Very well then. Hota take the children and you know the drill. I will be here to fight of course, ill make sure to send out scouts to retreive you and the children. If not recived by me then guide them with all your heart and soul.... regardless take them far and do not fear. Even if this will fall I know they will rise up and  protect the village." 

Yen stated to the woman in the back as she looked frightend and then relived at his words. Several hundred insects were entered into each vial of the side breeded insects yen could posessed and the natual aburame kikaichu. Yen watched his children reach for him he took off his straw hat and placed it on his son's head. There was no fear in yens eyes as he kissed both his daughter's and son's forehead lingering for a moment on each one and then for a few moments on his wife as there was a more romantic exchange per say.

After the few moments without a word his wife and children left with the few capeable aburame.  while yen after grabbing a blue tie from a nicely minted box of fine wood. Draped around his neck under his black shirt, which was under his jouninn jacket after adjustment, then his trademark blue cloak.  the few remaining aburame joined yen as he began his slow walk in the rain towards the kage building, guiding the cowardly towards the exits as the storm cackled and roared around him. Yet unlike others yen was calm. It enabled him to study the nature of the cause. While others ran like a maniac yen arrived after getting the gist. An large army and hence from the looks of it one murmered kirigure. Yens mind went towards haru hyuuga momentarially yet it was to be determined the nature of the cause. 


Yet yen took his time calmly approaching. Then he felt it the roar and the chakra signiture at the gate now yen was home and they had a deputy kage and a seemingly perfectly capeable kage. Although deep down yen questioned this a bit. 

Still an army needed preperation especially for yen. So he waited in the shadows of a building about 135 meters away from the gate as he was going to wait this one out and act upon the first calling of battle.

What would happen next? Risako, the Deputy Kage, had told Xyxer that she was in fact the Hokage of the village, after meeting him 50 meters out from the gate. Not like Jason could actually pay attention to anything at the moment. He was too fixated on the enormous, translucent beast coming from the Mizukage. It's numerous rows of many fierce fangs only diminished by the cornucopia of eyes and tentacles that accompanied it. The leviathan was armored on all sides with many plate-like scales covering it's body, spiked protrusions coming from it's back. The beast sent chills running down the Senju boy's spine, the fear that it produced paralyzing him on top of the village walls. How were they supposed to defend against something like that? Not even the legends, Viper, Navi, Echo, or Kurisu could stand against such a force. He doubted they would even stand a chance if this man decided to storm the gates, let alone the massive army that stood behind him. "We're all doomed," he whispered.

Kinzoku was doing what he did on most days, meditating. As a Nazar it was essential to meditate in order to keep the mind just a strong as the body. When meditating Kinzoku entered another world completely, almost as though he were on a spiritual plane. Outside influences could not be heard or felt once he reached a deep state of meditation, usually. Sitting on a dock legs crossed and hands resting on his shoulders, the wind began to pick up blowing Kinzoku's cloak in the air behind him. Slowly but surely rain pellets began falling from the sky bursting on impact against his face and clothing, yet the Nazar did not wake from his meditation. Not until the sound of an alarm pierced his ears. The moment he heard the alarm sound his eyes opened, awakening the Konoha Jounin. "Not again..." Kinzoku said to himself as he quickly pounced onto his feet looking into the direction of where the alarm was coming from, ironically the same direction the storm was moving in from. Fastening his hat and making sure he had all his items and trinkets on him and in his flak jacket, Kinzoku picked up his crossbow laying down beside him and strapped it to his back. He quickly headed down in the direction of the gate where the alarm was sounded.

"Have they already come for Konoha!?" Kinzoku thought as he jumped from rooftop to rooftop. The sound of the alarm brought back recurring images of what recently happened to Suna, his home. Could Kumo have already moved in to take his new home Konoha much like they did to his old home Suna? It was a nightmare all over again. At least this time he'd be here to help defend it if need be. The Nazar was cut short in his thoughts as he came to a halt on one of the rooftops. Looking up into the sky, his eyes were now wide open as a creature like he had never seen before broke the horizon of the village gates and towered over all. It stuck fear into the heart of the Nazar, reminding him of what he saw back in the Suna takeover. But this, this was on a whole other level. This wasn't Kumo. 

Kinzoku shortly arrived at the gates, though he remained atop of the buildings inside Konoha. Much like a gargoyle statue, the Nazar perched himself on a ledge and knelt down on it to take in what was happening beyond the walls of Konoha. By now the storm had picked up and it was viscous. Rain falling heavy and fast leaving Kinzoku drenched in seconds, not even his hat could protect his face any longer. Winds blowing strong enough Kinzoku needed to place his steel hand down and grab the ledge just to prevent himself from falling, right hand on top of his hat to adjust it and make sure it didn't blow away. Kinzoku spotted a single figure below the grotesque Leviathan. How could one man hold such power? Behind him further into the forests of Konoha was an army patiently waiting. They were hear for the village, it was happening all over again. Kinzoku thought about reaching for his crossbow, but refrained from doing do. Risako was currently talking to the invader. He didn't want to make any rash decisions that would compromise everything. So he waited. But they were heavily out numbered at the moment. More were going to need to come, and fast.

Yen glanced up at the sky where many where gasping in shock, awe, and fear.

The crowds of jouninn slightly loosing heart as they heard the whisper. It was like a stone falling into a pond. The ripples were apparent. Many a jouninn looked fearful as the storm only dampend their hearts and soul's. Yet yen stared at the thing for but a moment and nodded. 

It was fierce and large, but like anything an illusionist knows of reality and false hood. The spirit of a strong leader can strike any man stone cold fearful. Yet yen had to cast away all fear and doubt. He was a konoha shinobi. Sure he was not able to lift over 40 pounds, and sure everyone wizzed by him, but he spoke up as the crowd began to  become unstable. Someone had to be the leader while risako was  ahead being brave to the storm of a beast.


"Steady konohagure, steady, the fire will survive the night. As it always will. Even if we perish we stood here ready. Steady my comrads."


Yen spoke low as the rain soaked his long hair now and his now single yellow eye was fixed not on the levianthan, but by moving carefully he slowly and carefully neared the gate by 35 meters by moving through the side streets. Now enclosing the distance yen knew if there was anything to fear it was no mortal or army, but one's self.

Keep moving on and fight the storm yet let them keep going and observe the events. I will not fall. Konoha shall not fall even if i stake everything on it. I will stand up and keep them from harming my home. Even if the others flee i will stay alone and will keep standing.


Yen thought as he felt a bead of sweat. The cold was more apparent as he realized how powerful the feeling of dread was. But he exhaled and did the hard thing as  he continued to step forward. There were times in need and now was the time to be mortal and create a pathway to the future. Meter by meter felt like a mile to yen, yet he kept going forward quietly his legs felt heavy as even his insects hummed worriedly. Yet they stopped  as he made 80 meters from the gate and he noted from the corner of the building he was behind. Yen watched the shadow of risako before a looming shadow qnd the crowd behind them. The rain proceeded to down pour as yen now went for shelter in the alley way and waited. Listening in the silence of the shinobi for the voices afar of risako. Awaiting orders but keeping his hands at the ready.

I hope we do not fall.


The tiny voice of fear spoke in the back of yens mind as he then discarded it and listended. He had villagers 55 meters away to his right. In the center of the main road. What was that could happen?

Salzem grunted unhappily as he made his way to the little front-lines of their army, his hands tucked into his jacket pockets, the civilians running past him as they tried to find some safe place to hide. Their waste of energy... If anything got past them, nothing would contain the bloody mist's greedy claws. He stepped up behind Yen as the aburame started spouting the speech-of-the-day for this occasion, blinking tiredly and he was only just beginning.

"For Hokage's sake, Yen, do you do this every time something happens...?" Salzem asked, sighing as he then stood beside his brother-in-arms in awaiting battle. "That fire nonsense isn't going to help us in a moment." Of course, these remarks were to steady his own nerves, those that were practically twitching with ugly anticipation though he was remiss to make that known. Another kid, one Sal didn't know, mentioned how they were all going to die and the lycan glared at him, a look that would melt steel. He had half a mind to shatter this kid's moral right there, feeling his own threatened by his statement. Somehow he managed to hold his tongue, maybe because he realized that this kid's arm would be needed when the battle finally came... maybe because he didn't want another thing weighing down his heart when he finally dies.

"We're going to crush them." Salzem stated flatly, staring off into the distance, as if sensing Yen's doubt. "If any hostile comes through here, they will be eradicated." Meanwhile... he was silently messaging Kira...

Kira... Kira... I love you. I love you more than anything in the entire world... If I could see you again I'd be the happiest guy alive...



I'm going to battle... Something big is here... Something beyond us and we have to hold the line... I... I don't think I'm going to live to see tomorrow...

Crowds of people were being escorted in an orderly manner, as orderly possible that is. Chaos and fear was spreading through the village. Something big had come. The young Uchiha herd the order for anyone bellow Chuunin to evacuate the village. Standing atop of a rooftop, watching Jounin escort civilians and shinobi alike through the streets of the village. Kisuke was a Genin, that meant he should be evacuating with those people. Watching the masses intently, the Uchiha began thinking to himself. "What has this village done for me?" A few more minutes of contemplation took place before his decision was made. 

"Fuck that shit." Turning to face the direction which everyone was fleeing from, Kisuke began making his way towards the village gates. Despite his problems with this place, it was still his home and he wasnt going to flee like a little bitch. He would defend it, even if it meant his life. What kind of Uchiha would run away from a fight, maybe the biggest fight of his life. Pouncing from one roof to another, Kisuke landed onto the wall alongside his fellow brethren. Slipping his black leather jacket off and letting it fall to the ground bellow, Kisuke would ask "What the fuck's going on?" Seeing Risako talking to someone the Uchiha would pull up beside Kinzoku and ask "These the same Kumo guys who invaded Suna?" Their forces outnumbered them, that was not good. Regardless, Kisuke was here and hereto stay.

The quiet whisperings of the village seemed to all stop at once, the silence was so great that one could probably hear a pin drop on top of the Great Stone Faces. So much so, that Jason's words of self doubt and fear spreadl throughout the streets from atop his perch, beginning to cause even more panic than was already there. "No, I-I didn't mean..." he began, but was quickly stopped by the arrival of four of his comrades. One of these was determined to ignite the passionate flames within each and every member of Konohagakure that had been put in danger, the Will of Fire was strong in him. 

They were all no doubt terrified, but just the fact that this one man had the courage to speak up and try to motivate his comrades was enough to snap Jason out of his paralytic state. No, he would not give up that easily. How could he say that his dream was to become the Hokage and protect everyone in the village if he simply gave up now? He couldn't. The boy grit his teeth, his hands clenching tight into fists as he finally came back to reality and was able to pay attention to what was going on on the ground below. Risako's fox was gone now, where it had went Jason didn't know. The Mizukage, Xyxer, spoke about securing the village's safety by bending the knee, or standing and causing unnecessary bloodshed. To make demands of another village so easily, expecting them to be followed without question, what arrogance. True, this man had wrought images of the boy's own death to his eyes with his sheer presence, but with the many shinobi in the village Jason was sure they could make a stand.

Just then, right when he had finally regained his resolve, the unthinkable happened. It was as if this was a waking nightmare that he couldn't escape from. How could she? She didn't really trust this man....she couldn't. There had to be a reason for this. There had to be a reason Risako Akara, Deputy Hokage of the Village Hidden in the Leaves, had bent the knee to this monstrous creature. "Risako, why..." the words escaped his mouth as a gasp, clearly ringing of surprise and anger at this betrayal. His eyes were wide, a single tear forming at the edge of his left eye before rolling down his face. What on earth was happening?

For the fact that  sal apoeared behind him raised yens moral internally. 

Good he is alot more blunt then i am.... well thats good. Still it might be time to make a move or two.


Yen thought as he glanced back at sal and the ghost of a grin was on his face. Just what he needed. The shadow of a figure quickly dashing over the roof tops was thatof kisuke. Formidable chakra strength. But he was gone in an instant. Still yen  spoke in an quiet voice that only sal could hear. His tone was no longer of mystery but now blunt.

" thank goodness! Now that you are here. You are right it is time to crush them. Sal i only ask of one thing. I will need to prepare for a few things. If combat is unavoidable. Just like in suna I asked once before my freind. Will you be my eyes and keep thoes who would try to target me away from me?"

Yen paused as he considered informing on the whole plan. Large scale battle required large scale techniques, but most importantly distractions from the major problems that could arise. This was an aburame's power of course. Through setting up lots of controlling situations and drawing others away from the truth. Yet he spoke up to sal bit more audibly

 "I would only request as much so my defenses are not compromised amid preperation.... However, we shall eradicate them. Once my defenses are up please try to limit the people that would come close. They will not know what hit them. Nor understand fully what it is they are facing. "

Yen paused for a second as he considered the final bit. Then spoke a bit more plainly. Uncertaincy was in his voice.

"I hope it works of course sal"

Yen winked with his single eye and smiled an kind smile that would speak the rest. He was not going to have konoha fall without the enemy suffering from his wrath. 

All he needed was time. Time to make sure his gambit may work in the end. With such a large number it was a good time as any to utilize any tactics that were needed. For he was certain with unknown adversaries it required not the strongest techniques, but weak and deliberating techniques. Then some stronger techniques in the end.

 His thought went to genjutsu, but then his mind also went to the other tools at his disposition. All which he practiced more than enough to know their weaknesses and usages. So the question was now what could the rude visitors do? 

These may do wonders. But i hope risa is ready at the draw if combat comes to be. But im uncertain of them. Maybe they are all water users since they are from the sea? Still i belive if the latter is true my job will be very easy.


Yen thought as he began to ponder the possibilities of his enemies. Perhaps they were a mix of people from each specialty? The ideas reinforced his planning now as he knew an army was a foolish to not have adapt, medical, fuinjutsu, an ninjutsu users. All which hit a quiet check box in his mind.

Perhaps i should use a clone to maintain an eye on their capeabilities and judge the power of their techniques....


Yen thought  as he was half inclined to make a shadow clone to spearhead the initial defense. The idea rolled in his head a bit. As he waited for any update. Even as the word spreaded 80 meters back from the gate that risako took knee. Yen remained indiffrent. If the invaders came inside they were going to simply be walking into the lions den.

Kinzoku watched from the corner of his rooftop ledge very carefully. As it were the two leaders were still discussing matters. Truth be told, over this raging storm it was quite difficult for the Nazar to hear every word uttered by the two. But he was still able to pick up on enough to get the gist on what was going on. From behind he heard a strange voice of someone trying to keep the moral of the Konoha ninja leveled. He mentioned the Will of Fire, bringing back memories of a conversation the Nazar had with the Hokage. Not the current Hokage however. No, this conversation had been with Ashi. This was back when he was still simply a wandering ninja after Suna had been taken, seeking refuge in Konoha. Luckily for him Konoha accepted the foreigner with open arms. In this conversation came up the concept of the Will of Fire and what it stands for. Everyone in this village had the Will of Fire burning inside of them and would do whatever it took to protect it and keep it safe. Remembering the conversation with the past Hokage brought about more confidence in the Nazar. He would protect this village with his life if need be.

He picked up on a chakra signature fast approaching his own position. Good, more reinforcements. He quickly arrived alongside Kinzoku himself uttering the words of confusion. Kinzoku did not remove his eyes from Risako and the invader, but he recognized the kid's voice instantly. Kisuke Uchiha, a Genin! Genin weren't suppose to be here. Kinzoku quickly turned over to look at the Uchiha, in doing so he also caught sight of Jason Senju. Kinzoku had just promoted the kid to a Genin himself. Did they not hear the instructions for all Genin and civilians to retreat? He almost re-informed the two that they shouldn't be here but quickly cut himself off. Who was he to tell them they shouldn't be here? They too contained the Will of Fire inside of them. They wanted to defend their home, Kinzoku had no right to tell them otherwise. He accepted their strength and courage, and turned his gaze back to what mattered.

"Konoha is being invaded" the Nazar answered the Uchiha. "They've got an army amassed in our forests on stand by." He waited a little longer to answer the next question, studying the attire of the invader speaking to Risako. "No... this is much worst than Kumo" Kinzoku spoke picking up on the hat around the man's neck. "This is Kirigakure, and that's their Mizukage. Be ready to fight." However just as the words escaped his mouth, Kinzoku witnessed Risako kneeling to the invader. Instant reminder of the doom that befell Suna when they bent the knee as well. Which also meant bending the knee did not bring instant peace. "Be on guard" Kinzoku reminded the Uchiha beside him as he began fiddling with the necklace roped around his neck, "this does not mean we are safe." If things got ugly, it was his responsibility to keep the younger generation safe.
