The final attempt - Page 2 Empty Re: The final attempt

With an amused smirk on his scarred face Kenshin would look down on the spectacle going on down in the arena beneath him. Honestly, he was not surprised that none of the people involved had noticed him yet, he was after all sitting up on the entrance arch with his chakra signature suppressed. He could easily recognise the familiar face of Hikari, the young woman whom he had a brief encounter with during the second Chunin mission of Genevieve and Ayato...Hmm, he really did need to get around to teaching her that lesson he mentioned in their brief conversation after the match. He could also recognise the chakra signature of the man that Hikari was fighting against right now...even if he could not remember anything else against the man, like what his name was or where the two of them had met. The third one though, the one who seemed to have arrived late and was just now approaching the entrance to the arena Kenshin was unable to identify. The silver haired Chunin of Hoshi could safely say that he had never encountered the person that this chakra signature belonged to. There was of course a good chance that the two of them had at least seen each other once or twice in passing...but Kenshin was never really good with remembering the faces of people, thus why he mostly relied on his chakra sensory to differentiate people.

The stitched and scarred young man was clad in something a little different today. Rather than his usual outfit he was clad in something that he had not been seen wearing in some time, or at least an outfit identical to one he used to wear, seeing as he had outgrown the original versions some months ago. With a pair of black pants, a worn pair of grey sandals and a sleeveless black vest Kenshin looked a great deal like he did in his Genin days, but there were still a few small changes that ended up changing the whole look. The first was of course the fact that he was no longer wearing his robe, leaving his heavily stitched arms bare for any and all to see. Yet another change was that he also no longer wore his top hat, which in turn made it impossible to style his hair in a way that hid his eyes from the view of others. When he had first joined Hoshi he would never have dreamed of walking through the village like this, his freakish eyes and arms exposed for the world to see...but he was no longer the same weak child that he had been back then. Although only a single year had passed Kenshin had actually gone through some monumental changes, and without a doubt the most important one would be the fact that he no longer cared what anyone else thought of him.

Either way, listing each and every one of the changes that Kenshin had gone through over that year would simply take far too long, and I already have all the filler text that I need so there really is no need for me to list them out. At this point Kenshin would stand up and walk his way over to the edge of the archway, his steps almost completely silent even to his ears, making it literally impossible for any of the people down below to hear them. Due to the positioning of the Kenshin’s shadow would be stretched out behind him, making it impossible for one to see his shadow unless they were up here on the archway with him. Once he reached the edge he would look down, seeing the new arrival just as they entered the arena through the archway. He would watch with barely hidden amusement as the young looking boy slapped his cheeks, only to raise a silver brow as he began to suppress his chakra signature. It would have been a smart move on his part...had he not been in Hikari’s line of sight, the entrance itself being behind the man that was running at her currently, meaning that the new arrival would be quite easy for her to spot. And now that he was actually standing up she could no doubt see him as well, not that it really mattered to him, she knew who he was and where his loyalties lied...well, she knew enough anyway.

With a light wave to the Namikaze, who was the only person who could see him at this point, Kenshin would take a step forward and allow himself to drop from the top of the massive stone archway, which stood at twenty meters tall. Now, due to the speed at which the newcomer was moving (5), and the speed at which Kenshin was falling (lets say 50 since I’m not too sure how fast one falls), Kenshin would hit the ground by the time the newcomer had managed to move two meters. But due to the fact that Kenshin had taken that single step forward off the archway, he would not hit the ground that was directly beneath that point, no, he would hit the ground around a meter in front of the archway. This would put Kenshin’s landing point roughly one meter behind the late arrival (but let's just say it’s exactly one meter, for simplicities sake), something that would no doubt startle the rather young looking boy. Now just to be clear, the scar faced Chunin was prepared to be attacked by the latecomer due to his sudden and unexpected appearance, be it done out of fright or even reflex, but should he indeed be attacked at this point the latecomer would end up regretting it when the time came for his next post.

Should Kenshin not be attacked immediately upon his landing (or at any point during this post) he would give a small chuckle “You’re a little late to the party aren't you” he would say with amusement clear in his voice.

“As you can see those two have already begun their dance and it would be rather rude of you to cut in at this point.” Kenshin would state as he wagged a finger admonishingly at the youngster who stood before him, the smirk on his face taking on a slighter darker edge as the next words left his mouth.

“Don’t worry though...I will be your opponent today”

The final attempt - Page 2 Empty Re: The final attempt

As Hikari threw her Kuani, she noticed Tenma's speed picking up faster then what he should of been able to achive naturally. Looking at the man, the chestnut haired girl saw his entire skin turning pale.... an effect of the Wind Glaive Jutsu. The technique that Hikari had taught him herself. Her Golden eyes would flair up, and as she did, she a small boy coming in by the entrance. The girl rolled her eyes as she did. Akemi Hiyu, the genin was late. With all honesty, it was to late for him to join the exam due to the fact the battle had already started. However, the chestnut haired girl noticed something. Standing on the entrance, a good ways above Akemi, stood the Albino Tau of Hoshigakure. Seeing him, the chestnut haired Jounin's heart would sink deeper into her chest. What was he doing here!? The woman hadn't laid her eyes upon this man's pale skin since..... her own Chunin exam? It seemed quite abnormal for the chunin to be here, perhaps it was his intention to teach the girl the 'darker side of being a shinobi'  that he had promised her all those months ago?  Was... was his intention to attack her here and turn this into a three on one fight? With all honesty, Hikari doubted that she would be able to even touch the man, similar to how her own chunin exam went a while back. If that was Kenshin's intentions.... the girl didn't stand a chance in this battle anymore

However, To Hikari's delight, the newcomer gave a freindly wave toward the sixteen year old, before he jumped off the entrance. He descended toward Akemi, not unlike how a leopard would pounce from a tree onto it's unexpected prey.  What was he doing? Did he intend to interfere with this exam as well? However, with all hoensty that was probably for the best though. If the blood lusted chunin took care of the late comer, then Hikari could give all of her attention to the genin standing before her. Afterall,  if Tenma was using his wind glaive technique already, it meant he was planing to go all out from the start of this match, which of course meant he deserved all of the Jounin's attention. Of course, If the Chestnut haired girl chose to, she could of just activated her own Wind Glaive, or the much more powerful Wind Rejuvenation Jutsu, and just play keep away until the boy ran out of stamina, similar to how he gassed out in the first exam. However.... the girl couldn't do that. It wasn't her place to fight at the level of a Jounin in this fight, but fight at the level of a low level Chunin, or a high level Genin. With that in mind, Hikari would start to back pedal as fast as she could go (About 67 speed) and quickly make the sign of the sign of the clone (Speed of 135) as he hit the 45 meter mark. . When she did, an exploding Clone of Hikari would pop out, and charge at Tenma at the same speed as the real Hikari was moving away form him at, the clone with her one winged angel drawn in hand.

If no other actions were taken, The Chestnut haired clone would reach Tenma  after he had traveled just under  30 meters, and the clone just under 15. (Meaning that the real Hikari was about 30 meters away from this confrontation when it happened.) If nothing else happened, Hikari would use her sword and slash it at Tenma (Speed of 135, Sharpness of 140) aiming at the Yuki's right shoulder. (Hikari is left handed, so the attack wouldn't cross over the center of the body) If the strike were to hit, it would create a gash that would be a few centimeters deep. Not enough to take the boy completely out of the fight, but enough to probably make it difficult to make hand signs.

The final attempt - Page 2 Empty Re: The final attempt

The hair on the back of Akemi's neck shot up the moment he felt something behind him, causing the midget to quickly stop his movement and turn around as fast as he could while sliding his ninjato out of its sheath in one motion, the movement ending with Akemi holding his Heaven's Sorrow Ninjato with a reverse grip in his right hand. He looked up, having turned around as fast as he could, and he spotted a figure descending from the sky, the stranger's white hair trailing him magnificently during his fall. It was... Quite... something.

Akemi's gaze followed the man until he landed, though the Hiyu never let his guard down. His feet standing shoulder-width apart at an angle so that the heel of his right foot was in line with the tip of his left. Akemi was holding his ninjato in a reverse grip with his right hand so that the blade was pointing to his right, and his hand was up in front of his torso. In a position that would allow him to act swiftly, without obscuring his sight of the potential attacker. His left hand was obscured by his body due to the way he had angled himself - with his right foot in front of his left. But his left hand wasn't doing anything... Yet.

As the stranger spoke, the Hiyu felt a cold dread run its way through his system. He didn't know why this happened - as he had never met this person before - but it was probably something to do with the man's strange words. He looked slightly scary... But he spoke in an almost cheery tone. As if he was some kind of psychopath trying to gain a victim's trust before slaughtering them. Akemi felt an animal trapped in a cage, and he didn't like it. One bit.

When the stranger 'told off' Akemi for being late, a small pang of anger resonated throughout him, though he didn't let it show. He felt the need to defend his tardiness, as it had not really been his fault. What, with that one sword-wielding dude actually killing him. It was all quite a scary ordeal, and the midget hoped to never experience it again. But still... He thought that Hikari would've at least tried to defend Akemi. After all, she as the only person in the village to know about his 'death'. And he felt a little betrayed at her 'Uncaring' attitude she displayed towards him. Not that these feelings were particularly justified, it was more just Akemi trying to shift the blame onto everyone but himself.

"Y-yeah... Sorry for b-being late, I errrr... Kind of... D-died?" he blabbered straight after Kenshin had waggled his finger. His shyness getting the better of him, especially in the face of someone so scary. Bleh, it seemed he was never going to receive the character development needed to rid him of his anxiety. Or maybe this would do it? Who knew, only time would tell.

When the man's smile suddenly turned more sinister, Akemi's eyes widened slightly, and his grip around the sword tightened slightly. After all, he had never met this man before, and he had no idea what this man was capable of. Heck, he wasn't even sure of this man was actually a shinobi. Though, judging from the fact that the man had jumped from 20-Meters in the air, he probably was. And the way the man carried himself in the arena, suggested that he was extremely confident in his abilities. After all, the man hadn't even bothered to look around when he had entered the arena. There could be any number of people waiting in the shadows for him! When the man implied that they were fighting, Akemi's face betrayed his confusion quite clearly.

"W-what? Are you sure t-that's even a-allowed in the r-rules? Have y-you gotten permission from the p-proctor?" Akemi asked, confused for obvious reasons.

With the Wind Glaive Still active, the moment he had dodged her shuriken, he was being assulted with a clone, typical Hikari, Ice spear would be his go to here, with his hands still holding that jutsu's final seal so that he could use it. Under the Clone Hikari's Feet the moment she stopped moving foreward, and just before the sword was swung, a Ice Spear would spring straight up, and at the exact same time, Tenma would side step back the other way, still trying to move foreward, An Identical Ice Spear formed but Ten Meters away at the same time as the other Ice Spear formed, towards the true Hikari, if contact was made from the clone with the sword still, Tenma would disappear, and the sword would have struck a Ice Spear, Tenma being that much closer to the True Hikari, as yes there is a clone behind him now, he knew he just needed to close distance between him and Hikari.

If the Ice Spear caused the Clone to Explode the Substitution Jutsu would go off just the same as previously stated. The Explosion being no where near close enough to affect Tenma, and he never missed a Step, if Substitution is used then, He would come off that location still moving foreward at full speed.

If he got by the Clone, without it exploding however, and without getting hit by the sword. Then As the Ice Spear was just ever so to the side of Tenma's Running Path, he would still continue his charge foreward, getting highly upset at Hikari knowing she was capable of much more then these parlor tricks, He would even Snarl as he tried closing the distance more.

( i know I usually try doing something as a if I get close to Hikari, but there is like three paths alone that need to see which way happens here before I think about dealing with which way this goes)

The final attempt - Page 2 Empty Re: The final attempt

Fri Oct 06, 2017 1:32 pm
Kenshin’s sharp silver eyes would narrow dangerously as he descended upon the late arrival. Somehow he had managed to sense the fact that something or someone  was behind him, as he had stopped rather suddenly and spun on his heel, unsheathing the blade that he kept strapped to his back in the process. Now...this was a big mistake on the latecomers part, for you see, due to the fact that Akemi had stopped the moment he ‘felt’ Kenshin behind him, which would have to be when the silver haired Chunin got within five meters of his position due to just how he felt Kenshin in the first place, the silver haired Chunin would actually end up landing only fifty centimetres away from the boy. The diminutive youngster had chosen to stop, spin in place and draw his blade right as Kenshin was about to land. The blade that he held was just over forty eight centimetres long, meaning that as he drew it while he spun, it would be more than long enough to close the distance between the two of them.

Now, due to the speed at which Kenshin was falling (50), and the speed at which Akemi spun and drew his sword (125), the blade would end up slicing straight through the place that Kenshin was about to land. But here's the thing...Kenshin had been expecting the latecomer to attack him due to his sudden appearance, and the way that Akemi had reacted, drawing his sword in a reverse grip while as he span around...to a Kenshin that looked a lot like an attack, albeit a failed one, but an attack nonetheless. Now, Kenshin wouldn't actually react any differently until his feet had touched the ground, so Akemi would end up performing the exact same actions he mentioned in his last post up until that point. Namely, he would look up and watch Kenshin descend to last couple of meters. By this point Kenshin’s attack was ready, and with only fifty centimetres between the two of them, Kenshin would open his mouth as if he was going to talk to the young boy. But the moment his mouth opened it was not words that flowed forth, but a cloud of chakra infused yellow gas. Now, due to the extremely short distance between the two of them, and the fact that the cloud of gas was moving at a speed of 85, it would be extremely difficult for Akemi to avoid being hit by the technique, not impossible mind you, but very difficult.

Now, it should be noted that Kenshin was not trying to kill Akemi here, this why he had used the Poison Mist technique to create his Pepsis Poison, something that was purely paralytic. Should the Poison Mist actually affect the brunette he would feel his body quickly becoming a strange mixture of numb and stiff, before losing all control over his body. In this state he would be capable of blinking, and moving his eyes, but nothing more, not even speaking would be possible for him. If this is indeed what ends up happening, Kenshin would look down at Akemi, whose name he still did not know at this point, and scoff

“Foolish child, attacking without even allowing me to explain my purpose is rather rude you know” he would say with a small, dark smirk in his face as he stared down at the paralysed young brunette.

“Now, as I was going to say, you’re a little late to the party, and as you can see those two have started their dance already.” Kenshin would say as he stared down at the helpless Hiyu

“It would be rather rude of you to cut in now, and as such I will not be allowing you to do so” he would then say as he reached down, placing a glowing blue hand upon the brunette’s back

“But do not fret, for I shall be your dance partner this evening” Kenshin would say as his smirk became even darker than it was before.

There was no doubt in his mind that the boy was scared out of his mind right now, but that was actually what Kenshin wanted. He wasn't terrifying the boy out of sadism, but because he knew that this would end up helping his fellow Shinobi out in the long run. He looked far too green for Kenshin’s tastes, like Hikari he seemed to be innocent to the true horrors of this world...and that would only get him killed in their line of work. He needed to know that there were monsters out there in the world, and he needed to know that as he was now he was helpless against them…that way he would have a real reason to get stronger...to survive in this accursed world. And if that meant that this kid would see him as some type of demon or monster for the rest of his days, then so be it…

Kenshin would grab the paralysed boy by the back of his shirt, and sling him over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, paying no mind to the boys comfort. And besides, it's not like he could complain anyway.

With the boy secured safely on his shoulder Kenshin would walk out of the arena, leaving Hikari and the other to their little dance. He would of course get some strange looks from the people of Hoshi as he made his way towards the gates with what appeared to be the body of a young pre-teen on his shoulder. But in the end nobody said anything...probably due to the Hoshigakure headband wrapped around Kenshin’s waist.

Now...all of this would happen IF Akemi is affected by the Poison Mist...if not then I guess I just wasted most of my post on stuff that didn't happen. If Akemi by some miracle managed to dodge the point blank Poison Mist, then Kenshin would write a proper response when he sees the post, because it's 3AM and I seriously can't be fucked to write anymore

The final attempt - Page 2 Empty Re: The final attempt

Mon Oct 09, 2017 10:18 pm
As the chestnut haired girl was engaged in combat with the Yuki, she would over hear Kenshin offering to do battle with Akemi instead of Hikari. The girl would heave a sigh of relief at this, as it was, the battle had already gotten far out of the hands of the girl.

Honestly, the plan Hikari had when she was going into this battle was just to create two clones and have charge into battle against the two Chunin hopefuls. Presuming the two were able to defeat the clones, Hikari was going to bow out and hope that was enough for Kyousuke to pass the genin. However that plan had a monkey wrench thrown into it when Akemi didn't show up. Perhaps Hikari would of continued with the plan, but then.... Tenma sort of attacked her and threw her entire plan out the window because of it.

Either way, when Kenshin came in and offered to take Akemi off of Hikari's hands for him, it seemed like a dream come true, on top of the fact that Akemi would be allowed to continue without restarting the battle. On top of that, Kenshin was very durrable, so he could probably take anything that Akemi could throw at him, meaning it gave the young Hiyu enough of a chance to show what he was able to do.

That being said, Hikari heard Akemi asking if it this was allowed, and with that, the chestnut haired girl would cry out "Its cool! Just do it!"

Continueing on, the chestnut haired girl would look back at the battle she was having with the Yuki.

Seeing how the clone never stopped during the entire time she moved, the clone's sword would slash into Tenma's arm just as stated before, moving through as the girl cut into the genin's flesh. Once this cut was through, the clone would then stop to turn around and continue the battle with Tenma, which would be when the man's jutsu's activated, destroying the clone. With how close the two were, the clone might of been able to explode and end the match, but once again, Hikari wasn't trying to end this, she was trying to show Kyousuke that Tenma was strong enough to become a shinobi.

As the clone exploded, lets say Hikari was..... still about 30 meters away from Tenma, she would start to move back at full speed. While doing this, Hikari would form the 3 handsigns needed to use a Jutsu that a young boy by the name of Miyamoto taught him long ago, the Fire release, Demon Lantern Jutsu, in order create 5 flaming heads, all of which in between Hikari and Tenma, and would instantly lash out. (Speed of 95, Power of 80), all of which aimed at the the Yuki's body. Presuming the boy was unable to dodge, the heads would collide with him, causing serious burns to the aspiring ninja. Not enough to kill him, but enough that he would need to drop out of the fight in order to receive medical attention.

By the moment Hikari even made the first hand sign, as Tenma was already passed her clone and was already out of the range of the explosion, as Since clone Hikari triggered his Substitution , he was Ten meters away from the source of explosion. Since Hikari was still thirty meters away and Tenma saw the first hand sign form, he formed a single one of his own and held it, waiting. After the third was made, a String of Fire demon heads were formed, being as they were to slow, he would simply dodge either left or right, respectivly, as each had to take their time to get to him. As Not all five flew at him at once.

After Dodging the fifth one, the moment he dodged, if Hikari had done nothing else He would suddenly Body Flicker, he grew tired of this cat and mouse she was playing by running from him, and her speed was enough that she could just keep out of his reach at all times until he used this jutsu in conjecture with his Wind Glaive (giving a momentary Speed of 225 if math didnt serve me wrong).

With this he should be able to close the thirty meter gap between them in no time at all, he would stop himself before going either straight into her, and he would keep his eyes peeled for any thing that he would need to dodge as not to get himself caught up in a situation similar to what Akemi has in previous Exam matches.

Once the Distance was closed, that was his biggest worry at this very moment, and would deal with whatever he needed to accordingly that came his way if need be.

The final attempt - Page 2 Empty Re: The final attempt

(CONGRATULATIONS! KENSHIN!)

Looking back at it, maybe her attack was a little bit overkill.

The chestnut haired girl had thought that the boy would of been able to either jump over, or run around the demonic heads..... heck, Hikari had placed a chakra seal on Tenma in order to protect the boy from this exact situation, however, as tenma quickly moved out of the way of one of the demonic heads, he would run right into another one that had left at the same time as the first, as all of the heads went at the same time.

BOOM!!

Once the hellspawn head of flames would connect with Tenma, it would explode, completely covering the boy with flame, before it died down.

Tenma's body would collapse where he stood, falling unconsious and unable to continue. With that, Hikari would backpedaling and turn off her golden eyes. "Medics! Attend to Tenma's wounds! Quickly." Hikari would look down at the genin who had tried so desperately to get to her. It was...... an honorable goal. But in the end, the difference between the power level of the genin and Jounin was just to great. Hopefully, Tenma would be able to use this oppritunity as a chance to get stronger.

With that however, came to the decision as to whether or not the boy would pass. Hikari would shortly discuss the events with Kyousuke over their telepathy seal. (Over skype) And the two would come to a conclusion.

Tenma, who was probably out cold at this point, was probably in no condition to receive the news, so Hikari would instead tell one of the medics who was in charge, of taking care of the boy "When Tenma awakens, tell him for being able to defeat a clone of a Jounin that he was able to pass. Congratulate him for me! Also, inform him when he recovers, I would like to personally see him, I.... tell him I have a seal that I think he might be interested in."

With that, Hikari would turn and leave the arena, She probably should hunt down Kenshin and Akemi, and find out what they were up to.

[spoiler=In case Tenma wants to argue the hit by the demonic heads.]

After Tenma would magically evade the fiery explosions, he would make the sign of the ram...

'He wouldn't......' Hikari would think, but to her surprise, Tenma would start to dash toward her using body flicker. As a response to this, Hikari would raiser her hand at the maximum and allow a single blast of energy, (Dark River Breaking Seal) to blast out of Hikari's hand at a speed of 85, and a power of 50, aimed at tenma's head. Seeing how Tenma was in the middle of a body flicker when he did this, a dodge would be next to impossible, but as to not god mod we will just say next to impossible. As such, the most likely outcome would be that the blast of energy connected to the man's head, and not unlike when Connor Mcgregor fought against Jose Aldo, Tenma would drop to the ground, completely out cold.

With that, Hikari would call the medics in, and the same results would happen, save Hikari would fail Tenma, because bodyflickering toward your opponent is always a mistake, and most genin should know that, and of course all Chunin should.

[Most likely Exit either way.]
