Power Boost? Empty Power Boost?

Wed Oct 04, 2017 1:04 am
With an emotionless look on his face Kenshin would make his way through the sterile, white halls of Hoshigakure’s main hospital. The silver haired Chunin was dressed in something very different to any of his usual outfits or training clothes, a set of light grey hospital scrubs. This was a sight that the staff of the hospital would be relatively familiar with by now, seeing as the heavily scarred teen did work part time here part time. It also wasn't particularly uncommon for him to come here during his free time to use one of the hospitals many labs...which was generally on the days where all the labs in the Unseen University were in use. Okay so the hospital was basically his second choice when it came to labs, but that wasn't because the hospital labs were worse quality than the ones in the Unseen University, because they were definitely not inferior in any way. It was simply because Kenshin preferred not interacting with others, and the Unseen University was basically off limits to most of Hoshi’s non Shinobi population.

That's not too say the labs in the hospital weren't off limits to the public either, in fact they were arguably more secure than the labs in the Unseen University. This being due to the fact that Shinobi weren't allowed to enter the hospitals labs unless they either worked in the hospital, or had permission from someone high enough up in Hoshi’s chain of command. Thankfully for Kenshin, he both worked in the hospital and had permission to use the labs, given to him by Akihana herself. The only reason he preferred the labs in the University was because in order to labs in the hospital he had to pass by so many people. That alone wouldn't be so bad, but more often than not a few of them would try to stop him to ask either ask for directions to various wards, or to find out why it was taking so long for doctors to get to them. Either way it annoyed Kenshin to the point that he stuck to using the labs in the Unseen University unless he had no other choice...like today.

Kenshin would ignore anyone that tried to speak to him as he walked through the familiar halls of the hospital, giving a sigh of relief as he passed through the first set of security doors. There were two sets of heavy duty security doors in the hospital, one set that separated the staff only area of the hospital from the public wards. The other set of doors were further down in the staff area, this set separating the most high level labs and the mortuary from the staff without the correct level of security clearance. Now, if Kenshin were just a regular employee of the hospital he wouldn't have the right level of security clearance to get through those doors, but he wasn't a regular employee. He actually helped the hospitals leading pathologist perform autopsies, and as such his chakra signature had been keyed into the chakra scanner outside the door. An interesting piece of Fuinjutsu that he wouldn't even pretend to understand, but the simplified explanation of it was that it opened the security doors when someone that had their signature keyed in channelled their chakra into the seal

As Kenshin made his way towards the lsecond set of security doors he would think about the reason that he had come here in the first place, and that reason was one of the three Corpse Storage Scrolls that he had sealed away in his Storage Displacement. Two of the scrolls contained the bodies that Sorethin had given him, the Uzumaki and the unknown that had a strange affinity to fire. The third scroll didn't have anyone sealed unit yet, but it was only a matter of time, and Kenshin always liked to be prepared. Now for those of you I wondering why he would bother buying a scroll to store the body that he was already storing in his Storage Displacement, well, there was a very good reason for him doing that. He actually wasn't sure whether or not the body would rot whilst stored away in the alternate dimension, and he wasn't about to take chances with what could end up being rare research materials. It was relatively obvious that the silver haired youth was heading towards the hospital's mortuary, where he would be able to dissect each of the bodies without any suspicion or interruption. When the three hearted Chunin reached the second set of security doors he would place his left hand in the small array of seals on the wall to the left of the door, flowing his chakra through his hand and into said Fuinjutsu array. A moment later the doors would slide open, giving Kenshin just enough time to slip through the doors before they once more sealed behind him.

With all security doors passed Kenshin would make his way down the halls of the high security wing, looking almost identical to the rest of the hospital, the only addition being the large biohazard signs on the doors of most of the labs. Kenshin would of course ignore all of the labs and the doctors within, all of whom were clad in hazmat suits to protect them from the dangerous substances that they were working with. It would only take him a minute or so to reach the mortuary , which was completely vacant at the moment, something that he had already known from the moment he had entered the building, thanks to his chakra sensory. The stitched and scarred teen would make his way over to one of the cold steel tables and go through the hand seals required to activate the Storage Displacement technique. Once he had finished performing the seals Kenshin would reach into the small dimension created by the Storage Displacement and pull out all three of the Corpse Storage Scrolls that he kept stored within.

Light particles would slowly start to be drawn into Kenshin’s hands, slowly but surely taking shape, until eventually fading away and revealing the three scrolls. He would, for the time being, place the scroll marked ‘Strange Fire Affinity’ in his right pant pocket, and he scroll without any markings, in his left. On the table though he would unroll the scroll marked ‘Uzumaki’, before channeling some chakra into said scroll to get it to release its contents. The corpse of the Uzumaki would be released from the scroll in the exact same way as he had been sealed in, back to the ground, or in this case table, with a pair of glassy amethyst eyes staring at the ceiling. Kenshin would be able to tell what had killed the man with but a glance...but then again so would anyone who looked at the body, you didn't really have to be a Medical Ninjutsu specialist to tell that the rather large hole that went straight through his forehead and out the back of his skull was what killed him. As Kenshin looked over the body he was quite pleased to find that the hole in his head was the only serious damage done to it, the heart had been rather carefully extracted so as to avoid any damage to the man's lungs.

The two holes in the man's shoulders, from where Sorethin had impaled his body with his threads to carry him easier, hadn't damaged anything valuable from the corpse either, something that caused a relatively dark smile to appear on Kenshin’s face. The corpse was an almost perfect Uzumaki specimen, no organs bar the heart missing or damaged, and none of the limbs were mangled. This left Kenshin with a lot to work with in this corpse...and first and foremost Kenshin wanted to transplant some of the Uzumaki’s DNA into his own body, a process that would alter his own DNA and allow him to use the abilities of the Uzumaki clan. Kenshin knew that what he was doing was illogical, after-all, Sorethin had confirmed to him that the chains of the Uzumaki clan were inferior to their threads in almost every way...but for once in his life he didn't want to act based solely on logic. Kenshin would turn the body onto the left side before going through a familiar set of five hand seals, both hands being coated in the familiar light blue, blade-like aura that signified the activation of his chakra scalpels.

The silver haired Chunin would use his chakra scalpels to make a large incision above the deceased Uzumaki’s hip and below his rib cage. With the incision made Kenshin allow his chakra scalpel to fade away and reach into the body of the deceased Uzumaki, feeling around inside the body for the correct organ. It wouldn't take him long to feel the deceased mans kidney, and from there he would grab hold of the organ and pull it from the body, the renal arteries, veins and ureter still attached. With the kidney now in his line of sight Kenshin would grab hold of one of the scalpels, which was located on a small tray on a cart next to the table, along with various other implants that one may need when performing autopsies. He would use said scalpel to cleanly sever the renal artery, renal vein and the ureter, completely separating the kidney from its original owner. This was not exactly a clean process, and once again Kenshin was immensely grateful to have learned the Chakra Cleanse technique. The silver haired Chunin would form the tiger hand seal and activate the technique, a light blue sheen of chakra quickly coating his entire body, before dissipating into the air, taking any and all foreign substances that were on his skin with it.

The easy part of this process was done, and now all that was left was the hard part, cutting out his own kidney and replacing it with the one he had just cut out of the Uzumaki. Thankfully the process shouldn't be too difficult due to the rather...unique physiology possessed by the carriers of the black threads of Earth Grudge Fear. Kenshin would remove his scrub top, exposing his heavily stitched and scarred torso to the rather cold air of the mortuary. He would go through a familiar set of three hand seals, causing what appeared to be small blue flames to appear on the tips of each finger on his right hand. The pale skinned young man would then slam said fingers into the centre of his chest, sinking about a quarter of an inch into his body and allowing the small blue ‘flames’ to seep into his body. In actuality the blue flames were actually just a rather concentrated form of medical chakra, this chakra would seep through the user's fingers and into the body of the whomever it was used on. This medical chakra would flow through the nervous system and temporarily render the affected party unable to feel any form of pain.

The Chakra Anaesthetic was a very useful technique in general, but it was absolutely essential for what Kenshin was about attempt. With but a though the Earth Grudge Fear user would unstitch the largest of the stitched cuts on the right side of his body, before reaching into his thread filled body and feeling around for his own kidney. He would find said organ pretty fast, but rather than trying to pull it out of the body like he had with the Uzumaki’s, he would grab hold of a clean scalpel from the tray and cut into his own skin, making the opened cut larger and larger. Kenshin would place the scalpel back in the tray and go through the hand seals for the Mystical Palm technique, the jutsu coating his hands in an aura of pale green chakra. Kenshin would then grab the cold kidney of the Uzumaki and begin pumping it full of chakra, all the while manipulating the threads within his body to carefully position themselves right where he wanted them. Kenshin would reach into the large incision on his side, the Uzumaki’s kidney still in hand, and position it right next to his own kidney. He would then use his threads to cleanly sever the renal artery, renal vein and ureter of his own kidney. The threads would wrap themselves around the now effectively useless kidney and move it out of the way, so that he could begin using the Mystical Palm to attach the new organ. It would only take a few moments for the technique to do its work, and the moment it was done Kenshin would pull his hand out if he cut, the thread bound kidney that used to be his following shortly after.

With the surgery done Kenshin would use his threads to stitch the large cut on his side back together, although now that particular cut was quite a bit larger. He would grab the kidney his threads were still holding and allow them to slither back into his body. He would look at the kidney for a few seconds, before smirking and looking at the corpse of the Uzumaki. “Why not” he would mutter lightly to himself as he walked over to the cold body of the Uzumaki. He would take one last look at the kidney in his hand before shoving both it and the hand that held it into the Uzumaki’s cold corpse. He would release his hold on the organ and pull his hand free of the body, leaving his own kidney in place of the one he had taken. He would then activate the Chakra Cleanse technique one last time, removing any blood that was left on his body from the impromptu surgery, before once more putting on his grey scrub top. With the surgery complete Kenshin was about to begin dissecting the body of the Uzumaki, when he noticed a small note stuck to one of the negative temperature cold chambers in front of him. He was used to seeing such notes due to his familiarity with the lead pathologist of the hospital, Doctor Solus. The man often used those little notes to remind himself of the important tasks he needed to fulfill, something that was easier said than done with someone as busy as him.

With his curiosity piqued Kenshin would step away from the corpse of the Uzumaki and make his way over to the cold chamber. To his surprise it was actually a note left for Solus, not by him. Apparently, a body had been placed in the chamber that the note was attached to. It was the body of a Missing Nin that had been killed before Kenshin had even joined Hoshi. According to the note, the body had been delivered to the hospital by a Jounin named Shina, but one of the newer nurses had made a mistake and stored the body in the wrong area. The mistake had only been discovered recently, and as such the body had only just been found once again. This was actually a massive blunder on the hospital’s part, a body going missing for over a year and a half without being discovered was not a good thing, especially bad now that Hoshi had become a Shinobi village. The owner of the hospital, some rich lady with a name he didn't recognise, did not want this blunder to be known, so she was ordering Solus to simply dispose of the body, while she took care of the rest. She would no doubt falsify some paperwork in order to do so, pretty simple really, just change some dates around and voila, no screw up on their part.

Well...if she wanted this body gone, then Kenshin was more than happy to help, it was the body of a Missing Nin after all, who knows what secrets it could hold. He would pull the empty Corpse Storage Scroll from his pocket and open the cold chamber, placing the note in his pocket so that Solus didn't find out about the body that he was meant to find in there. Inside the cold chamber Kenshin would see the body of a man...a man who had been bisected vertically. How tragic, with his body in such a state a great many of his organs would be damaged beyond repair, but thankfully whoever killed him was quite a bit off centre with it, meaning that his heart should still be intact. Still, he would get some good use out of this body, while some of the organs were without a doubt worthless there would definitely be some that he could use, plus none of the limbs were mangled. With a small smirk Kenshin would unroll the empty scroll, lift both sides of the frozen corpse and push the scroll beneath them, activating it with a small burst of chakra and sealing the corpse away for later use.

With that Kenshin decided that sticking around would be a very bad idea, so he would move back to the Uzumaki corpse and seal it back into its scroll. From there he would collect all of the scrolls and place them on the table in front of him, before forming the snake hand seal and channelling his chakra into his hair. He would manipulate his hair to form what could almost pass as a lion's maw. This mouth of hair would seemingly swallow the scrolls, although in actuality it was only holding them within, before moving to hide itself among the rest of Kenshin’s long silver locks.

With the scrolls safely hidden from sight, and no evidence of him having done anything wrong, Kenshin would leave the hospital and head in the direction of his home.

Ok I have been granted the task of being the one who has to do this. You cannot get the bodies of banned members unless you were in a topic with them while they were banned. So I'm denying the claim for the body.

The character in question was killed in this topic, Den claimed the body and stored it in the Hoshigakure hospital, where it had been sitting ever since. I fail to see how Near being banned after this would change anything.

You are not allowed to take advantage of a member's banning by claiming their body, money and/or items.

This is a direct quote from our rules regarding characters. It may have been loosely abused in the past and possibly more recently but nevertheless these are the rules.   Even if Near becomes unbanned this rule would extend to any and all of his previous characters, both for him and anyone else.

I didn't take advantages of him being banned, he died, had his body claimed, then got banned. So what, are you trying to  say that that the corpse just turned into fairy dust?

You really don't seem to understand the rule you're trying to enforce here, and to be honest it's making you look like a moron

If you want to call me a moron that's fine. I have no obligation to explain this to you if you would like a second opinion you may ask for one. The body belongs to a banned member, anything you could possibly hope to gain from possessing it would be taking advantage of it. So the body no longer exists to be taken advantage of. You are a creative guy, I'm sure you can think of something.
