Teacher for a day

Day three. The male had been on a deep mission grind to earn some extra ryo and things were actually going his way at least. The amount he had made so far was going toward a secret project of his and now that he was getting relatively close he had no objections in taking a few mundane tasks. Today's mission had brought him back to the academy where he would be playing babysitter...I mean substitute teacher for a class of academy students and he wasn't....too keen on it. The last time he had did this it was sort of a new experience for him, but now he would have to actually be assigned to them for at least the whole day at best and assign them homework.
Nothing like being a teacher for a village you didn't belong to yet, but when they paid you to do it? Nothing wrong with that at least not in his weird eyes. Slowly he strolled up to the academy and looked at it since the last time he didn't spare a glance at the outside entrance. It was rather..plain at least by his own standards which meant not a lot of thought had been put into it. Not his problem though. Slow strides were taken to reach the academy doors and once he walked in he placed his signature staff on his shoulders and began to walk through the halls. Wearing his usual cloak and other clothing apparel until he had finished his secret project, he walked into the classroom and closed the door behind him. He could then see all of the students from the corner of his eye, 20 or so to be more precise.
The male made it to the board before writing his name on it and then flipping into the chair, his legs and feet landing on it with a small thud and his staff being put beside him. Using the staff he would point to the board and close his eyes for a moment," There's my name. I'm your teacher for today so let's get along alright? For the first 20 or so minutes silent read while i see where you all stopped at last...and don't cause any trouble alright?," with that he sat up and went through the lesson plans slowly, looking at some of it like it was basic knowledge.

It was a rather bright day, citizens bustling about their daily lives as she made her way through the streets. The people of Hoshigakure were too noisy for the pinkette’s liking. The birds chirping overhead made the crowd a little more bearable, although the mission she was heading to would be a real drag. She had to assist in teaching gross little academy students for a day, when she could be out training new jutsu instead. It was a shame, the day was early and clear as could be. Such a waste to be spending her day inside, cooped up with little children.
Rosa made her way to the Hoshigakure Academy in no time, her slender legs walking a fast past with ease. It took but a few moments for her to reach the horrid classroom, a blank look upon her face. Most teachers at the academy probably wore a smile and greeted the children warmly. But not her. Instead, her face remained bare, devoid of any emotion as she walked through the doors. Her boots thumped as she crossed the hardwood floors. It seemed the other substitute teacher had just entered, the chalk freshly written across the chalk board. She took note of his name before glancing at the man it belonged to.
He had shaggyish brown-black hair and wore a cloak, the article of clothing covering a majority of his body. She wore her own typical attire, consisting of her jacket and shorts. He seemed to be going through the lesson plans, a good idea if they were going to keep the kids on track in their schooling. She wondered how far they had gotten in their lessons, and if any of them were already prepared for their exam.
Normally doing such a trivial task might be nostalgic for a shinobi, returning to the place where it all began. Rosa could care less if she were in the academy or not, having spent most of her time learning her jutsu outside of the classroom and never making any friends, the school was just an ordinary building to her.
She walked over to the chalkboard and wrote her name next to his. Rosa Akari was written in an elegant cursive style, matching her beauty in appearance. Then she proceeded to walk over to the other man, Mu-jin.
She would quietly ask him, rather monotonously, ”What lesson are they learning today?”

The male had been looking through their lesson plans for something that hinted to their previous teachings, but he was drawing a few blanks. It would have appeared the teacher wasn't exactly keeping proper notes so he reluctantly had to either free ball it or just...yeah free ball it. Internally he had been screaming to the point of almost ripping his hair out and slamming his staff into things, but luckily he wasn't THAT barbaric and he had self control to an extent. So there he sat looking into the book and scrolls before the door had opened and his eyes went over to the female coming in. The first thing he looked for was a headband (sorry not sorry) the cross haired eyes scanned from top to bottom before locating one and looking back to the plans just before she could finish looking him over.
When she had spoke he wondered for a moment if she was actually a robot with how she had spoken which caused him to give her a second glance before shrugging,"Beats me to hell and back. The teacher apparently didn't leave good notes and its hard to decide on if these are for future lessons or past," to make it a point he pointed to a random kid with the staff and spoke up," Seat 34...Kasumi Hotaru. Where was your last lesson dealing with?," the child who looked at him quite confused and almost scared for a moment tentatively went to her notes and described something these notes did not go past. Great. Now they had no point of reference to go off of. The next question came off as a little...forward," So do you know your next lesson?," to which the girl and a few others shook their head.
...Well fuck. "Hold that thought." His eyes went to the girl who just went in as another shrug went to her," what should we teach them then?," the question was both to A) get a feel for the woman's attitude and quirks and B) to figure out what the hell they were going to do. This was not something he was prepared for but he needed the money in the end so why not? This moment was up to his partner to decide though he had a feeling she wouldn't give...normal input on this.

Rosa sighed at the man’s explanation. Not only were they left to teach twenty children, they weren’t left with any guidelines on what to do or where they should continue. She knew this was going to be a pain in the ass from the moment she was tasked with completing the mission. If it weren’t for the ryo she got from babysitting the brats, she wouldn’t have accepted the offer for such a mundane mission. Really, you would think they would have special teachers for this kind of circumstance, instead of taking any Genin or higher off the streets and putting them in charge of children.
To make matters even worse, he called upon one of the children, asking them about their lessons and what they had recently practiced. The child, a meek little girl that seemed slightly afraid of the duo, glanced at her notes and referenced some kind of lesson, one they didn’t need to continue nor were apparently in the lesson plans, evident by the man’s reaction. The man was rather straight forward with the children as he asked if they were supposed to know their next lesson. Ha! Fat chance of that one. None of the students seemed to have paid attention during class, and all of them would surely fail their exams at this rate. What a pity, a classroom full of failures. At least they failed young, when their lives weren’t on the line and they could go cry home to their guardians.
Mu-jin told the children to hold on as he turned towards her, his face contorted in annoyance. Their feelings were the same on the matter, although Rosa kept her irate emotions locked behind her unmoving gaze. “It can’t be helped then.” She began with her never changing tone, locking eyes with the man before her momentarily, her gaze moving to look at the academy students studying in their seats. “Alright, students. Study time is over. I want all of you to come down to the front of the room. Hurry please.” Rosa normally would have barked her orders, but some of the children looked even younger than eight and she didn’t want to get complained at by her superiors for making a baby cry because she was too scary. Thus she tried to be commanding and slightly less terrifying.
Begrudgingly the students began to shut their books and drop their pencils, a few muttering that they were supposed to have more time to study. She didn’t care what they said or the ramblings they had, she was in charge and nothing would change that. Once all of the student's lined up in front of the front row of desks, Rosa continued her instructions.
“Do you all know the Transformation and Clone techniques?” She inquired from them, gauging their readiness for the exam. Ultimately it was what the student's training boiled down to, all of their academy lessons were tested on those two jutsu. A majority nodded their heads while a few shyly shook their heads in giving a negative response. She mentally tsked the lacking students, keep her face bare while she did so. “Alright, then I want those who know how to do it to stand on one side of the room. The rest of you go stand on the opposite side of the room, facing the first group.”
If the man caught onto her tactic, he would realize she was going to have those who say they can perform it show them. If the did well enough, she would have the second group watch the selected student as a guide to learn the techniques. If they did poorly, she would have them stand in another group to be taught by either Mu-jin or herself, whoever decided to work with them. “Now, one at a time please perform the Transformation technique.” The students gulped nervously at her orders but nevertheless complied, not wanting to get on the pinkette’s bad side. Her bite was just as mean as her dark.
“Unless, you have something else they should rather be doing?’ she glanced sideways at Mu-jin, awaiting his response to her idea. It wasn’t the best, but she didn’t really have any jutsu she could teach little kids without causing them injury. Thus unless Mu-jin had a better plan, this is what she went through with instead.

Well then...This was certainly one way to do it and he leaned back into the chair kicking his feet up onto it with the scrolls sat back in the desk just before the action had been made. His eyes watched as the kids had gotten up and listened to the female though he wondered why was she a little.. forceful with the commands. The male on the other hand simply closed his eyes and listened to what she was about to do, knowing full well if he had said something he would have to eventually get involved in their shenanigans. With his eyes closed he could still hear everything and smiled when he heard one of the kids complaining about being "yelled" at. To his surprise these kids had it easy compared to his training and were lucky not to be in his shoes.
Slowly he would point his staff at one of them the interesting item slowly growing until the staff at been poking at their back and he spoke," Pay attention to your lessons or you'll have to do the bucket punishment," the kid was more scared of the fact that he was just poked by a staff that had extended. In the same notion the male had slowly retracted it and placed it in his lap, his eyes remaining closed the entire time. While the students had been interacting with one another with the techniques. When she had asked him did he have something they could be doing and he shrugged before opening a single eye and smiling," it seems like you have this so i'll leave you to it for now. This should take up most of their time because they aren't going to genius this," with that his eye went to the students watching them with some small sense of satisfaction knowing they were going to pull through this.

While she gave her orders and a few children complained, she was just going to ignore them. Mo-ri, however, decided to join in, if only momentarily, extending his staff to reach one of the children that complained. He told them to pay attention or they would have to do the bucket punishment, whatever that was for Rosa had not heard of it prior. Once the child, having gotten over their shock, understood what Mo-ri said, they began to listen and pay attention to her, in fear of the punishment Mo-ri would deal out. Since they seemed to have given up, he retracted his staff and kept his eyes closed, having interacted without them being opened the entire time.
While the students worked on their jutsu, the relaxed man answered her previous question, his tone light and breezy, and a smile graced his features. She mentally scoffed at his answer, finding it rather dull and unimpressive, as if he were using her to fulfill the mission. Or maybe she just took charge first and he was too afraid to do anything about it.
Either way she continued her lesson, the students helping each other learn the required techniques for passing their Genin Exams. If one was struggling to perform it, and she slowly go through the hand signs and steps to accomplish the technique so they could replicate her practicing. After a while of them taking turns and showing the other side how to do it, the time for class came to an end, the bell ringing loudly over the communication systems.
“Alright students! Your homework will be to practice these techniques until you can perform them with very few flaws or errors.” She ordered, a stern look upon her face as she spoke, the kids groaning at her assignment while they packed up their belongings. “Class dismissed.”
With that, the students made their way out of the classroom, some thanking Rosa and Mo-ri for teaching them while others scurried away to go play or train more. Once the last child left, Rosa turned towards Mo-ri. “It was a pleasure working with you, Mo-ri. Goodbye.” With her necessary pleasantries out of the way, and assuming Mo-ri didn't say anything else, she turned in her heels and exited, thankful the mission went off without a hitch. She'd hate to have to spend anymore time than needed with the academy students. She was never too find if children.
With the day still shining brightly and the brilliantly blue sky clear, she exited the academy after claiming her mission rewards, heading off to a local restaurant before going to the training grounds to work on learning more techniques. Rosa planned on learning more about her clan jutsu, and her Lightning affinity jutsu, to become a better equipped shinobi, prepared to tackle any obstacle in her way.

The male had somewhat fallen asleep during all of this as he listened to the children do their lesson but actually wasn't watching them do it. It was assumed that he had trusted the decision of his partner and allowed them to run the class and if his help was needed then he would, but would otherwise just relax and things go on their own separate way. Time was slowly ticking down as the class came to the end of its course and Rosa had released the students to go and continue their studying at home as class was over. A small yawn escaped his lips as he smiled and stood up with staff in hand giving the female a thumbs up and walking out," Pleasure working with you. Have fun," and with that he disappeared into the hallway of the academy. For some reason he figured that he should probably check on his money or something...redundant.
