Madrigal wasn’t all that much of a fan of kids. He never really had been, feeling as if he just didn’t know what to do with them at any given point and so it wouldn’t come as a surprise to find that he wasn’t entirely comfortable with teaching an entire class of them today. It was only for the rest of the day thankfully. Their normal teacher had an emergency and had to leave and he was called in to finish up the day. Of course Madrigal was absolutely thrilled at the news. At least though he would end up getting paid as if it were a mission. Now though he had a classroom full of twenty students he had to deal with and he did not know how to deal with them in the slightest. A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he stood at the foot of the class. The students conversed with one another casually as they waited for him to continue class. It was after lunch now, and the early afternoon sun filtered in through the glass panes of the windows on one side of the room. Madrigal of course was dressed in his typical fashion. Black muscle shirt, black shinobi cargo pants, black combat boots, and his headband. The headband itself was wrapped
around his arm and proudly displayed the star of Hoshigakure upon its metal surface. His wild mane of black hair was kept in a loose ponytail and his amber eyes scanned over sheets of paper. He was getting a feel for exactly what the students had been doing earlier so that he could try to continue from where they left off. Idly as he scanned he framed his chin with his hand, the thin jaw beard feeling like a bit of scruff framing his jawline. Then he nodded to himself, set the papers down, and looked up to the class.
“Alright everyone, let’s get started.” He would say simply, with a loud clap of the hand coming prior to gain the attention of the students. Within moments everyone was within their assigned seat and looking down at him expectantly. As if that was not disconcerting to say the least. Still, he had a job to do. “After lunch roll call is first on the list so keep quiet, listen up, and when your name is called respond respectfully and politely.” He would say, before taking a clipboard. The board had a sheet of paper on it with a list of names. They were in alphabetical order from their last names, but none of the students shared a first name so he would just go by those. Each name had a check mark in the box next to their name labeled ‘morning’ and he was about to work down the boxes labeled ‘afternoon’. “Kubi.” He would call out, prompting a student to raise his hand near the back of the room and call out "Here." He would say, promoting a nod and a check mark next to his name. Kubi was a kid of slightly above average height with short blonde hair and green eyes. He was a skinny kid, all knees and arms, and that meant he’d probably hit a growth spurt and shoot up to nearly Madrigal’s height.
Continuing on with roll Madrigal would glance at the next name on his list “Emiko.” He would call out, prompting a girl to stand up and call out. “Here” which in turn prompted him to nod. Emiko was a girl with tanned skin and reddish eyes, she had a healthy build and looked like she was starting to put on some muscle. He had a feeling she would prefer close quarters combat to anything else and he checked her name off the list before moving onto the next one. “Calis.” He would call, prompting a boy with long black hair, pale skin, and expensive clothing to stand. He looked like he was some noble's son and he spoke clearly and politely. “Here.” he would say, before taking his seat once more. Madrigal would mark the name on the list, showing him as there and continue on. “Morikawa.” He would call out, prompting a boy with glasses to stand and call out, in a stuttering tone. “H-Here.” He would say before sitting. Madrigal would make the name as he considered the lad. He was clearly nervous and had the bearing of someone who did a lot of studying. If the Genin were to guess he was probably a bit shy and did not participate much unless made to. He had dull green hair and glasses on his features and had more than a little bit of the ‘bookish’ look to him.
Nodding he would continue “Satori” He would call, prompting another student to stand and proclaimed themselves present. Madrigal would nod, mark the name and consider this boy. He had longer hair, it was only down to the nape of his neck but he didn’t seem to be showing signs of cutting it anytime soon if the decorative tie he used to tie it off was any indication. He had piercings on his features there, his nose to start and Madrigal wondered if it was some kind of family practice. Like a rite of passage into adulthood or something. He wasn’t sure. If there was an issue with the piercings it would have been addressed earlier on in the school curriculum so Madrigal said nothing before moving on. Roll continued on for a bit before nodding to himself and set the sheet down, everyone was present and accounted for. He then moved into what they had been needing to continue the lesson. The good news was the actual lecture was finished and all that had to be done now was the afternoon worksheets be passed out. Then explain their homework. He took a stack of sheets and counted out the exact amount for each row before passing the whole stack to the first in line. Who would then take one and pass the stack back. They would work while he ensured they did so and at the end of the day he would assign their homework assignment before dismissing class, setting the completed worksheets in the teachers desk as he did so. Once that was done he would close up the door and lock it before dropping the keys off at the office and going about his day.
