Thorfinn takes a hiatus

Thorfinn walked up to the gate early in the day, carrying a cake hoping to see the same kind girl who had let him in. When he arrived Thor got his papers out, wondering if he needed them. Then knocked on the door and waited for a response. If someone came quickly he would greet them politely with a “hello” then take sips of the massive glass of coffee he was slowly drinking in preparation for his training.

Another day another job and Sasato was joking around with her as they were doing some paperwork insde the office beside the gate as in the corner of her eye she could see someone approach it and she got up: "I'll do this I have flattened my butt enough to earn this." Ste stretched a little raising her hands into the air and somewhere in her spine it cracked a little. After that she stepped out of the office in front of the young man she had left in. "Good day Thorfinn as I can see you are about to leave the village would you be so kind as to show me your ID and state your affairs leaving the village and how long you will be gone?", she said pulling out a form she was to fill out while looking at him and the cake. "But don't tell me you are visiting your grandma cause I rather not have you be eaten by a wolf", she said shaking her head, "Too much paperwork." But she gave a short smile.

She told him good day, he responded cheerfully as he had gotten the person he wanted to speak too. “I’m doing very well how are you.” Then handed her his id. He also reached into his pocket and grabbed his hoshi headband and showed it to her. “ My business? Ah yes, I have a mission to do while on the borders. I am also going to work to kick a few bad habits, I’ve developed a addiction over the past few years to alcohol.” Then he thought, “ i should be gone about a week at most, but I think I’ll be back in about 3 days.” She made a joke about an old fairy tale Thor had never personally heard but knew of. “ Actually, the cake was meant for you. You never got to eat the last one, I truly wanted to apologize for being rude before I left.” Then he looked down at the floor and waited for his I’d back or her to respond

Man, it really was a good thing that Kenshin was also one of the gate guards that day, or else someone may have gotten in quite a bit of trouble because of what happened. You see, something that most people didn't seem to realise, was that shinobi were not just allowed to wander out of the village whenever it struck their fancy. If they didn't have good reason, or a mission, then they were simply not allowed to leave, in order to prevent people from just walking out of the village gates never to return. 

Kenshin had mostly been minding his own business up until that point, bored out of his mind by the sheer monotony of gate duty... when he noticed one of the other guards checking out a shinobi's ID. But you see... the problem was, this person was a Genin, and as such it was highly unlikely that he would have been given a solo mission outside the safety of Hoshi's walls. 

There was also the fact that gate guards were given lists of Shinobi that were permitted to leave... and this one had not been given any such permission.

With a small sigh of annoyance Kenshin would stand from his seat within the booth and make his way over to the two that were conversing. Apparently they knew each other, and one of them seemed a bit familiar to Kenshin, but he wasn't exactly sure where from.

"What mission were you assigned?" the silver haired Jounin would ask suddenly, no doubt surpriing the two.

She looked at the Id, as it seemed this was Thor alright and no one who wanted to impersonate him. What rank was he again a new Genin and not in her year so he was quite new, like Kotetsu. She looked around for a moment until she had caught Sasatos eyes and pointed to her Paper meaning him to bring her a list while she handed him his Id back. "You gotta stop backing cakes, or it looks like I take bribes, but I'll make an exception this time", she said taking the cake out of his hands and looked at it for a moment. "Really pretty", she slowly turned left as someone approached she thought of being Sasato: "Do you...", she could not get any further because the voice beside her send a shiver down her spine. Next to her Kenshin had appeared and well she was breath taken. She had only seen him a few short times but well sufficient. How could she have missed him being here? For she looked at him wide eyed all the while the guard gently placed the mission list onto her notes and locked them under her thumb as she was currently staring at Kenshin in amazement.

Thorfinn was having a rather cheerful conversation with sanae, enjoying himself. Then he heard a voice ask him witch mission he was doing. Thor thought for a moment then reached into his pocket and got the paper out and read allowed. “ Hello sir, The mission name is royal emissary. Me and another genin will be escorting royalty from another land to hoshi. We are to protect them from a gang of thugs named the Jaws of Grima. My partner Cole will be along shortly.” Then he looked back at sane and mouthed I’m sorry hoping that this wasn’t his fault.

Kenshin would watch as the blonde began to dig through his pockets, no doubt looking for the mission orders he had been given. It only took him a few seconds to fish the papers from his pocket, but rather than actually give them to Kenshin or Sanae to verify their authenticity, he began to read aloud what was on the piece of paper. 

"Hello sir, the mission name is Royal Emmisary. Me and another genin will be escorting royalty from another land to Hoshi. We are to protect them from a gang of thugs named the Jaws of Grima. My partner Cole will be along shortly." The young cripple would say, earning a small scoff from Kenshin. The stitched and scarred albino would extend his right hand out towards the still unnamed young man.

"Show me your orders." he would say with his single visible eye narrowed at Thorfinn.

Sanae let her eyes go over the list on top of her notes and as soon as she could not find those two on the list and neither their mission she rolled her eyes. What was that kid up to? She looked at the cake and then at Kenshin? Could she really take the risk? Well only one way to find out. She put her notes between her knees locking them there and then with a swift moved fetching the paper out of Thor's hand. For her there was no second look needed if it was empty, forged or something else. She did not care about it that much she only knew he was not going out of this gate. So with her sweet but maybe a little stingy voice she glared at him cake at hand: "Access denied", and the caked she hand in hand was smeared against his chest just by her smacking it against him and gently rubbing it along his torso while she kind of straight looked him into the eyes: "You better go change now, you have cake like everywhere over there", she said putting the plate into his hand, "I bet it was as delicious as the other one, maybe you should help part time in a bakery to get your mind of stuff like this." With that she took a relaxed but alert stance and watched him get along with what she just did. Well it was getting a habit.

Thor was denied access and he felt fine about that, then he decided he would just get his friends and go together. Then the cake was smeared across his chest, this hurt Thor much less than the first time and he started to walk away. “Goodbye sanae” Then Thor walked towards his home. Sullenly he thought about the cake waisted.
