Protect The Temple
Sat Feb 10, 2018 12:28 pm
- Mission Assignment:
- Mission Name: Patrolling the Temple
Rank: C
Type: Patrol, Protection
Character Requirements: Genin Squad/Chuunin or higher.
Mission Location: Forest, Konoha
Word Count Requirements: 4000
Repeatable? Yes
Reward: 2000 Ryo
Task: A temple deep within the forests of the fire nation has begun to receive threats from a missing ninja group known as “The Bandit-masters”. Intel shows that they are a large group of missing ninja that are displaced due to the destruction of their home, Kiri. Already groups of these ninjas have been spotted near the borders of the temple. Though the group is too big to destroy the leaders of the village have asked you (or your genin team) to patrol the temple for the night and make sure that they don’t try anything. Any attempt to attack the temple by affiliates of the group should be dealt with extreme force, leave no survivors. The temple must not be sieged.
The group will consist of three D-rank MN, two C-rank MN, and one B-rank MN, all of which will be NPC'd by staff or someone on the mission. (Must provide a challenge for those partaking on the mission, or else it will be denied.) Each MN will have their starting rank's stats plus twenty, alongside at least one jutsu of each rank they are allowed to have. Specs and elements are up to the person NPC'ing.

The gigantic doors that granted entry to the great city of Konoha swung open majestically, revealing the early dusk sun. Allegro was there waiting for the rest of his team, so they can deploy on their first mission together. When the genin found out they would be on their first C ranked mission together, he could not sleep. While he waited for his other teammates to arrive, he checked his ninja pouches to make sure his inventory was in check. He made sure he had all of his kunai and shuriken, scrolls and seal tags, and even his guitar, should this mission turn out to be a disappointment. The shinobi that notified him of his summons for todays mission had explained the task in detail before reporting back. The mission was meant to be simple: guarding the temple from vandals and keeping a lookout for any suspicious activity. Just when Allegro was going to show confidence that he could handle the task, the ninja went on to warn Allegro and his team to take extra care on this mission. There were reports of a gang of missing nin who have been reported in the local area several times as of recent. This means that this mission could potentially become a lot more difficult then the indicated rank. This news made Allegro take a gulp. He had never been on a mission that required combat with enemy ninja before. Usually missions that involve combat were assigned B rank or higher to be carried out by at least a chuunin ranked shinobi.
Still, the shinobi did not falter. He excepted the mission and proceeded to the village gates immediately after. When his teammates finally arrived, they would travel about 50 meters within the forest to get to the temple they were assigned to patrol. Allegro would wait to hear the instructions given to him by his captain to get a full comprehension of his role on this mission. He was studying his superiors to learn how to become a dependable leader himself someday. Under Kinzoku sensei’s leadership, and with Higuto and Jason at his side, Allegro felt like Team 7 was unbeatable.

Higuto walked to the gate of the village as he had been called upon to partake in a mission with his team. He noticed that Allegro was already waiting by the gate as he gave him a polite wave and decided to wait alongside him for the rest of the team to come. From the mission details it was going to be a dangerous mission which could possibly pit him and the team against a group of missing ninja which made him smile a bit at it was going to serve as his chance to show his stuff and prove that he could be a strong ninja. He cracked his knuckles and shook his legs out as he was getting them ready for a lengthy travel to the temple as he noticed the rest of his team came to.
Upon seeing them appear he would follow Allegro's lead, after greeting them of course, and he would hop into the forest to travel along the 50 meters that Allegro was in the midst of travelling. He had been informed that it would be a simple patrol mission so there was a chance that the threats that the bandits had issued the target wouldn't be followed up on which meant there was a chance he wouldn't get to fight. Even if that were to be the case it would still be an experience Higuto would absorb in order to become that much stronger. And if they did come he knew Team 7 would ultimately prevail.

Team 7 had finished their sensei's 'survival test' with flying colors. Unbeknownst to them, the whole point of the test was teamwork. Kinzoku sensei had begun the test by trying to separate them, hoping to play on their individual desires to tear them apart. Divide and conquer was his strategy. Fortunately for the three Genin, they had already made a solemn pact that they would be brothers no matter what obstacles came their way. It was exciting to know they would now be acting as a team, an official four-man squad for the village of Konoha, taking on assigned missions and doing their duty to the village.
Today was a special day. Team 7 had received their first mission assignment. There was a temple in the forest just outside the village that had recently been receiving threats from an unknown bandit organization. Jason and the rest of Team 7 were tasked with patrolling the temple and taking care of any enemies that dared to attack. There wouldn't be any opposing ninja, supposedly, so it was labeled as a C rank mission. Generally anything including combat against enemy shinobi would be ranked as a B class mission or higher.
After getting his orders via messenger falcon, Jason took an inventory of all his ninja tools and headed out to meet with his teammates at the village gates and make their way to the temple. Allegro and Higuto were already there waiting, but it looked like Kinzoku sensei was running late. Hopefully that wasn't going to be an ongoing habit of his, but there was nothing the Genin could really do about it. "Hey guys," he said to his brothers with a friendly smile as he approached. "Sorry I'm late. No sign of Kinzoku sensei yet?"

Kinzoku slicked back his long brown hair and placed his hat onto his head as he exited the Hokage's building. He had just finished being briefed on the mission his team had been assigned. Team 7 were tasked with patrolling a temple for the night that had been receiving threats from a missing-nin group calling themselves "The Bandit Masters." Odd name for a group of missing nin. Surprisingly the group consisted of missing-nin from Kiri. Odd that they would choose to attack a temple which now resided in lands which were controlled by their former village. If there were any worst way to be caught by the village you abandoned, it was attacking land they owned. Whatever their reasons were for threatening the temple it did not matter. Kinzoku and his team were tasked with its protection and that's what they were going to do. He slowly made his way down the streets of Konoha to the designated gate while lighting a cigar in his mouth.
Eventually he would reach the gates where his three students were all waiting for him to arrive. They had all likely been briefed on the mission as well so there was no need to explain it to them. Maybe only give a few warnings and such. "Good to see you all made it" he began as he removed the cigar from his mouth. "As i'm sure you're all aware of the details on the mission so we can skip that part. The only thing that I'll add is be on your toes at all times. I'm fairly certain the temple will be attacked. It may not be tonight. They may choose to attack on another night when some other ninja are on patrol. Or it may be tonight while we're on patrol. Either way it's best to be alert at all times." Now was time to bring up something Higuto had asked back when they were at the coffee shop. If Kinzoku was going to assign a squad leader among the three of them. When the question was asked Kinzoku had told them he wanted some time to think about it, get a feel for their capabilities and who they are. But in all honesty, he knew who he was going to assign the moment the conversation at the coffee shop came to an end.
"Before we head out. I've decided who I'm going to assign as squad leader, since it seemed like it was something you guys were all for. So, Allegro Uzumaki, you're team 7's secondary leader." The obvious choice would have been Jason Senju since he had the most experience. But Kinzoku had decided to take a different path. "I went with Allegro specifically because the two of you aspire to become Hokage one day" Kinzoku began explaining turning to both Jason and Higuto, assuming that they wanted to know the reason why. "As a Hokage, learning to listen to others and take their view-points into consideration is vital. One who doesn't learn to listen may end up being consumed by their own stature of power. Also, leading is something that tends to come naturally to those who aspire to become Hokage. You'll have plenty of time for that once you become Chuunin and even Jounin." He then turned to Allegro before finishing his explanation. "Use this opportunity to learn what it takes to lead. Don't be afraid to make the tough decisions. Know that I chose you because I believe you have what it takes to hold the position." After sticking the cigar back into his mouth, he would finish by saying "So, lead the way Allegro" as he pointed out towards the gate.

One by one, the rest of Team 7 began to assemble at the large and wide gates of the Leaf village. Allegro waved at Higuto as he approached, and Jason followed sometime after. Then, as if on cue, Kinzoku sensei appeared, completing Team 7. The jounin could rarely be found without that large hat on his head and a cigar set ablaze on his lips. Allegro would stand shoulder to shoulder in between his teammates, listening to Kinzoku as they prepared to deploy on their first mission together. Apparently the Hokage had enough faith in the squad to send them out on a C ranked mission right off the bat. Of course, in the case of Allegro and Jason, he already had prior mission experience, be it official or unofficial. After hearing Kinzoku sensei say that they were on a simple patrol mission, Allegro wondered if things would be that simple this time around. After all, there reports regarding a group of missing ninja. The group was now being called “The Bandit Masters”. The headphones on the boys head were playing a soft tune in his ear as he chewed on the new information he was receiving piece by piece. Every piece of information was vital, especially on higher ranked missions.
Allegro’s wandering mind soon found immediate focus when Kinzoku continued onto his next few words. He took a step backwards, literally taken aback at the turn of events. The deputy squad leader of Team 7…would be him? His fists clenched, as he looked toward the floor, allowing his hair to momentarily shielding his face and the expression on it. Kinzoku continued his lecture about what leadership means to him. This was something all three of them needed to hear, even if only two of them, Allegro’s ambitious teammates, aspired to become Hokage. Allegro reflected back to their last training exercise. The three gave it there all, but in the end, Allegro felt as if he was the most reserved of the three ninja. He wish there was more that he could do, but had a lot of training to do before he could keep up with them. And yet still, Kinzoku believed in him to make tough decisions on his behalf in case he is not there. Allegro brought his head up so that his eyes could meet with Kinzoku’s when he began to address him directly. Even though his entire being was taut with emotion, he managed to repressed into a genuine smile. If there were no objections to Kinzoku’s decision, Allegro would respond with a bold and dutiful “Hai!!” Soon after, he would turn and face the gate to head outside. Before he could get too far, however, he would stop abruptly, as if he had forgotten something. He turned around and smiled as he spoke.
“Oh…One more thing before we go…”
Allegro shot his hand up and waved, signaling a man standing off in the distance. The older man became more distinguishable the closer he came to the group of ninja. He was a merchant in town who traded his photography services for ryo. Allegro had a habit of helping the elderly in his spare time, and as luck would have it, this old man in particular owed Allegro a favor. While the old man set up his rustic old camera on a tripod and draping a curtain over his head, Allegro would grab hold of Kinzoku by the arm and pull him into a posing position behind his genin subordinates. After that, he would pull Higuto and Jason to either side of him. And just like that, the group would have a few seconds to pose for a picture that they would hold dear for the rest of their life. Allegro adjusted his headphones just right, and then form a peace sign with both his hands. The old man would take about three shots or so before giving a thumbs up sign from under his camera curtain. The old man would then explain that they could each pick up their photos after the mission. Allegro thanks the old man and saw him off, before finally getting serious and heading to the temple they were meant to protect.
After some time of travel through the dense forests that the Fire country was known for, Allegro, Higuto, Jason, and Kinzoku sensei would arrive to a part of the forest where the mysterious temple was within sight. The group would have had to climb steep hills and transverse treacherous valleys, all while avoiding becoming some wild animal’s prey along the way. Of course, this would not be able to stop Team 7. Along the way, Allegro would be rather quite, deep in thought about something. Formulating as many strategies as possible to be prepared for even the worst outcome on this mission. His mods only seemed to lighten when the reached their destination. The sight of the temple was awe inspiring, and would leave even this group taken aback by its grandeur. It was almost daunting to think that the four of them would have to protect such a large temple. Whatever it was out there that had the firepower to take down a building this size, one could only hope that the four of them would be enough to stop them. Allegro himself would smile with his mouth wide open. The temple reminded him of the legends of El Dorado he had read about as a small child.
They would have to travel some distance more in order to actually reach the building, but they were making great progress, as they had almost reached their destination before midday. Team 7 would come across a small town with villagers walking about. For the most part, the villagers would pay no mind to the shinobi, but eventually, someone who recognized Kinzoku sensei would walk up to welcome him to their home. It was an old man and his younger son. The old man walked with the Kinzoku as they headed closer towards the temple while the son lagged behind with the genin.
“Ohh you must be Kinzoku san. My name is Tazuna, I’m the one who requested this mission. Thank you very much for risking your lives for this matter. This town has been struggling for years since the destruction of the original Mist Village. Stray villagers seeking refuge found there way to the Fire country, and eventually we all had an overpopulation problem on our hands, you see. For some time, this town was doing well in our adjustment to this change. This town’s ancient temple, the one you see before you, became a popular destination for religious leaders and VIP’s, attracting all kinds of business opportunities for our people to flourish.” The old man went into detail about the history and relevance of the village and its people. Background information was important in any mission, and especially critical in the event that a mission might be more dangerous than its rank might indicate. The old man continued, saying, “But then a corrupt man who goes by the name ‘Mr. Tsunami’ came to us with propositions to buy out our temple. He is a chief executive of a trading company on the surface, but underground he deals in illegal weapons trade and drugs. He intended to repurpose it as storage for his many illegal goods and trade items. Of course, we refused. This temple is a part of our village culture, we could not let it be used for such a thing. And then, before long, propositions turned into threats. Mr. Tsunami hired the notorious Bandit Masters from the fallen Kirigakure to destroy the temple since he himself could not use it how he saw fit.” The old man was getting worked up and coughed a few times due to his own overexcitement. “Please, Konoha Shinobi. Mr. Tsunami is an evil, EVIL man who uses his wealth and violence to conquer anything in his path. You must help us!”
While the old man spoke out loud beside Kinzoku sensei, Allegro would have a look around the local village and take it all in, still carefully listening to every word the old man said. While he was fortunate to live in Konohagakure, not every village in this country was as prosperous. He noticed that this specific village did not have a lot of the basic supplies that were sold in shops available at all. The old man’s son walking alongside he and the other genin was scowling the entire time his father was speaking. Clearly the mention of Mr. Tsunami was a sore subject for the young lad. He was still too young to fight back himself, around the age of your average academy student. Allegro overheard the boy’s murmuring comments in the middle of his old man’s explanation. “That’s why this village refuses to trade with any merchants or companies outside of the village. Not even Konoha. Because of evil businessmen like him!” The boy was laden with anger for the state of his village. Allegro could empathize with his feelings, even he, who aspired to open a business of his own someday. Does everyone who has ambitions for their business have to walk down a path as dark as this Mr. Tsunami did? Allegro could not fathom extorting an entire village for profit like this. It was just as the old man said, a means of using money to get his way, regardless of how many are injured along the way. Before he could come to a conclusion, they would finally arrive at the temple itself.
The old man would lead the squad inside the temple near the top. They would reach a clearing, where one could see the outlook of the entire surrounding terrain for at least 100 miles. One could observe that it was mostly forestry on the on the north and east sides of the temple. To the west side of the temple were an array of residential huts where the indigenous people of this side of the Fire Country live, and where the group had just come from. This temple was the crux of their society, and therefore the focal point in its economy. Finally on the south side, there was a large flowing river that seemed to head in the direction of the Island Country, and where Kirigakure used to exist in the Water country.
Once the old man and his son left the temple, Allegro would finally break his silence after gesturing for the team to gather around a platform near the center of the clearing. Allegro would lay out a map of the area in a scroll that was resting on his backside. It was riddled with markings and notes. Where exactly the genin found the time to draw all of this out, was something of a mystery at this point.
“I wanted to share a groovy idea with you guys, if thats okay. Earlier, Tazuna san confirmed for us that the Bandit Masters are involved in all of this, and that they are targeting the temple. Kinzoku sensei also said that they may strike at night when visibility is low” Allegro looked to his left and observed the position of the sun. They still had hours before sunset. “I think that means our best course of action is to set a trap for them when they come. If we use Kinzoku sensei’s steel wires and my chakra chains, we will hear the enemy coming before they reach the temple. Ideally we would hope to catch at least one so that Higuto kun can plant a tracker beetle. We can’t afford to stray too far from the temple to exterminate the Bandit Masters, but at the very least, we can report their updated hideout location to Lord Hokage.” Allegro would address Kinzoku sensei and then Higuto kun respectively. He hoped he was making sense so far. “And after the traps are set, we should talk about our patrol route. Because of the size of the temple, splitting up to cover more ground might be our best option. I’ll take the west entrance leading toward the village. Higuto kun, you take the North. Jason kun, the east entrance. Between your insects and Shadow Clones, you might be able to cover the most ground. And Kinzoku sensei, I think it’s best you take the South entrance. It’s located near a large body of water, and well, the enemies are said to hail from the Mist Village.” Allegro took some time to breathe and gauge their opinions. He looked at Kinzoku sensei, wondering how his strategy would compare to one of his making.
If there were no major objections, Allegro would close the scroll with the map and slide it back onto the scroll holster on his backside. His hands returned in front of him into the tiger hand seal as he mustered chakra through his body. He weaved three more hand seals and activated his jutsu.
“We can use my new jutsu to communicate with eachother, no matter the distance. It works a lot like radio communication systems. Only we’ll be able to hear eachother's thoughts. Can you dig it?…..Telepathy Jutsu!”
Allegro would then proceed to mark each of his teammates behind the ear of their preference. It took the form of a small black dot that would soon fade away from site, only to reappear if communication was being made. Allegro would orient the mechanics of the jutsu so that the four members of Team 7 would be able to communicate with each other without interference. Any disruption with the Telepathy seal could only mean one thing: that Allegro was taken out. With that done, Allegro would wait for Kinzoku sensei’s further instructions, or permission to dispatch. Whether they went with his plan or not, Allegro was sure this mission would be a success.

Re: Protect The Temple

Higuto took note of Jason's greeting and nodded to the Senju as he stood back up to his feet and acknowledged his question by taking a look at the immediate surroundings.
"Knowing Kinzoku sensei he more than likely stopped to get himself some tea or something. I wish I stopped myself for some breakfast but being that it's my first team mission I was kinda in a rush."
He chuckled nervously to that as his stomach gave a slight growl in hunger. He rubbed it in embarrassing silence as he noticed his teacher finally making his way to them. He listened to what the Jounin had to say. It surprised him when he was told that Allegro would take the reins as 2nd in command as he was quite honestly expecting it would be Jason. The reasoning he heard behind Kinzoku's explanation, however, spoke wisdom in that the two would need to learn to better follow orders before they could properly take to dishing them out. He gave Allegro a glance, giving him a thumbs up, before catching a glimpse of a lingering hint of doubt within Allegro's eyes. Did he not think he deserved it? He would worry about those possibilities later as he turned shrugging back to his teacher after he finished telling the Genin who was in charge.
"Welp! I've got no problem with that. I'll try my best to get the job done as perfect as possible. Hope I don't let you guys down!"
With that he thus began to follow in Allegro's footsteps before coming to a stop from his hand gesture as he noticed the old man coming up to them with the camera. 'Shoot.' he thought. 'If I had known we were going to be getting a picture I'd have brought my own camera.' Nevertheless he got into a position that seemed beneficial to the picture taking. He kept his hoodie drawn back as to allow his black hair to show fully as he brought an arm over Allegro's shoulders and smiled for the camera. After the picture was taken the old man stated that they could pick their photos up and Higuto nodded before getting off Allegro and his thoughts once more turned back to the mission at hand as the four followed Allegro's lead.
As they travelled Higuto's thoughts wandered towards small doubts that crept into his mind on whether he was ready for such a mission or not. Sure he had felt that he was certainly capable of taking on certain challenges but recalling the time that the three had spent on the training field against Kinzoku provided stirrings of uselessness to fill his mind. 'What if these bandits prove to be as strong as Kinzoku? It took everything we had against him and we barely passed.' As he thought this he noticed a large Jaguar that had set it's sights on the party and made it's way after Allegro as he seemed to be consumed within his own thoughts. Higuto thus hopped forth at top speed, insects beginning to fly from his sleeves, as they quickly surrounded the animal's flesh and also stuck themselves in it's eyes to blind it. Whether or not the others reacted to this mattered little as Higuto would keep his insects on the Jaguar until it turned to run off in pain as his insects returned slowly into his sleeves.
"Poor thing. Probably is as hungry as I am. At least in the forest there's plenty of meat for it to eat while I..."
He trailed off, giving a disheveled look upon his face as he rubbed his stomach, before getting back in step and allowing Allegro or the party to say anything before following behind Allegro once more. They continued down their path until they could see through the trees the temple which looked... big. He felt a bit intimidated at the size of the temple before his thoughts went primarily to defenses. There were many entry points any bandit could take to get to the temple and his mind raced with strategies on how to go about taking the pressure off the four somewhat. After a bit more travelling Higuto would step into an adjoining village. He was too engrossed into the bustling streets to notice the old man walking up to Kinzoku. It wasn't until he spoke that his attention finally met the old man. 'Tazuna?' His thoughts tried to come up with who this man possibly was as he noticed the younger boy travelling with him. He couldn't guess right off the bat who the young one was but he wasn't unwelcoming as he waved to him before they would follow Tazuna and listen to him speak about Mr. Tsunami.
He learned of the deeds of Mr. Tsunami and his intentions for the temple as he silently listened to what Tazuna had to say of his offers to the villagers and his threats when they were refused. He couldn't help but notice the young boy seeming agitated as Higuto could tell the looks of pain and worry within them right off the bat. He too knew the pain of possibly losing something of monumental value and the whole reason he had taken the mantle of shinobi was so that he could give help so that no one would need to experience that pain themselves. He followed Tazuna into the temple with the squad until they came to the top and he looked out and around the area to see just how expansive everything was as he could see the woods and valleys in the many miles of distance and space that surrounded them. Such beauty and majesty of such a sight alone was enough to make Higuto determined in his duty as he turned to Tazuna and gave him an encouraging smile.
"No worries, sir. You can count on us to make certain you don't lose this temple. No bandit will get past us. You have Team 7's word."
He watched as the two would depart from the squad of Genin before he noticed Allegro pull up a scroll and show them all the layout of the land. He huddled around the map, taking a close look at it, as he listened to Allegro's explanation. The concept of utilizing tracker beetles popped into play as Higuto nodded and brought his hand up to allow a tiny female kikaichu to crawl along his finger while he listened to the remainder of the plan. It was a good thing that Higuto knew some lightning jutsu as his opponents, as Allegro pointed out, were mist ninja so the majority of their moves were most likely going to involve water style. He listened until Allegro was done explaining as he looked to where his position was to the North. It was smart to place Jason along the East side as it, along with his North side, provided many trees and also plenty of wood for a Senju to utilize. His insects could also weave easily through the trees, as well, and the fact that he'd have shadow clones to help made it all the more easier for him.
"Understood."
He simply nodded in understanding as he cracked his knuckles before Allegro suddenly reached behind his right ear and tapped him as he blinked in confusion. He was thus explained to about Allegro's new jutsu as he thought it actually very cool.
"Ok, Allegro, I'm on board."
It would still be a bit of time before the sun set. He wanted nothing more than to explore the village for a shop to settle in and eat his fill but he knew that this was a mission not a picnic and stayed where he was until deemed ok to move

Re: Protect The Temple

Allegro waved as Jason as he arrived. Higuto answered the Senju's query with a joke about Kinzoku sensei stopping for tea or something before he came. It got a chuckle out of Jason at least, thinking about how the Aburame was probably right. Just then, as if on cue, the Jounin leader of Team 7 arrived in all his glory. He wore his normal hat bent down over his eyes with a lit cigar hanging out of his mouth. His steel arm shone brightly with the reflection of the morning sun. After saying a quick greeting, Kinzoku sensei went right into business discussing the mission at hand. He was certain the temple they were tasked with guarding would be attacked, whether it was tonight while they were on patrol or another night was unsure, but his unwavering certainty had convinced Jason.
No one had any questions or special remarks about what he said, so Kinzoku sensei went right into another topic that the three Genin had been anxious to hear. He announced the secondary leader of Team 7. To everyone's surprise it wasn't Jason's name that came out of the Jounin's mouth, it was Allegro's. At first the only thing Jason felt was betrayal. It seemed like the most obvious choice was to select him as the secondary leader. It didn't last long though as he remembered their survival test in the training grounds, the first test Kinzoku sensei had put them through. In fact, with everything that had taken place during that battle it became more and more clear why Allegro was chosen over him. Sure, when it came to physical abilities they probably ranked Higuto, Jason, Allegro from strongest to weakest, but the Uzumaki was the only one to see through the Jounin's genjutsu and analyze what he was truly testing the Genin on. Even when Jason was ready to give up and retreat, which seemed the most plausible tactic at the time, Allegro was certain that they had managed to pass the test. Yes, Allegro was probably more worthy of the secondary leader position than Jason was. Kinzoku sensei had already shown he thought more than he led on before and Jason had no reason to doubt the Jounin.
"Congratulations, Allegro-kun. You're gonna do great." Jason said with a smile to his teammate. He meant it too. The moment of betrayal and uncertainty he had felt at first vanished just as quickly as it had come. He was proud to have Allegro-kun as the secondary leader of Team 7. Jason knew his teammate would be able to make tough decisions and calmly analyze situations.
Of course Kinzoku sensei had anticipated Higuto and Jason wanting to know his reasons behind not choosing them, so he had immediately begun to explain it to them. First and foremost, since they both had aspirations to become Hokage one day Kinzoku sensei thought they needed to learn how to take orders well before being put in a situation to give them. Jason simply nodded in acknowledgement to his sensei's words. He knew the Jounin was right. After a few choice words of encouragement to Allegro, Kinzoku sensei told the Uzumaki to lead the way. Jason was ready to follow his teammate to their destination when he was stopped by Allegro-kun and an old man made his way forward with a camera. Allegro pulled his teammates forward and they posed for a nice group photo, one that Konohagakure's Team 7 would no doubt cherish for years to come. When all was said and done, the photographer left to return to the village telling the group they could each pick up their photo from his shop. With a quick thank you, they finally left the village and headed toward their destination, Allegro-kun up front leading the way.
The journey wasn't bad, just long. Nothing really happened along the way except for a stray jaguar trying to attack Allegro that was quickly deterred by Higuto and his insects. It was roughly midday before the temple came into sight, but when it did it left Jason speechless. They were still quite a ways off from the temple base, but it was so enormous it looked as if any one of them could just reach out touch it. The whole thing was so breathtakingly beautiful that Jason wondered why anyone would ever want to destroy such a majestic piece of art.
Not long after that, Team 7 reached a small village just on the outskirts of the temple. As they approached, an old man and a young boy made their way toward the group. Apparently, the old man's name was Tazuna and he was the one that put in the mission request to the leaf village. As Tazuna led the ninja through the village, he explained a bit of the history of this town and how the problem at hand came to be. Jason made sure to pay close attention to everything Tazuna said, but he couldn't help himself from observing the village around him either. Unlike Konoha which was one of the most prosperous villages in today's economy, this small village seemed to lack some of the basic items that the people of the Leaf Village took for granted. Here and there small buildings with boarded up windows and broken doors. Most of the people, too seemed to broken and scared. At one point, Jason noticed a young boy hiding behind his mother's legs as he watched this group of strangers traverse his village's streets.
Before long they finally reached the temple itself. It was then that Tazuna said his goodbyes and Allegro-kun finally discussed a plan of attack he had come up with while they were moving. It including setting a trap using Kinzoku sensei's steel wires and Allegro-kun's chakra chains so that they wouldn't be caught off guard. Each member of Team 7 was assigned an entrance to watch over that perfectly suited their abilities. Jason and Higuto were each given an entrance surrounded by forest which was perfect for a Senju and an Aburame to utilize their full powers. Since the enemies were supposed rogues from the Mist village, Kinzoku sensei was to take the entrance closest to the river since it was the likeliest place for them to appear. Lastly, Allegro-kun showed off a new technique he had learned that would let them all communicate telepathically with one another. Once the telepathy seals had all been placed, the only thing left to do was wait and see if Kinzoku sensei had any objections to the plan or not.

Re: Protect The Temple
Fri Mar 30, 2018 2:39 pm
As Kinzoku declared Allegro as the second in command for team 7, he noticed a moment of doubt in the Genin as he looked down at the ground. But it was short lived as he give a shout of approval. The other two gave their approvals as well, congratulating the Uzumaki. Now it was time for him to prove himself, which Kinzoku believed he would. With everything said and done the team was about to take it leave of Konoha and head for the temple. But there were suddenly stopped by Allegro who was waiving down someone from behind. Kinzoku turned only to see an old man holding a large camera on a tripod approaching. Before he knew it he was being pulled in by Allegro and placed behind his students for a picture. It seems the Jounin had no choice in the matter. Though it didn't bother him. It would eventually be something each one cherished in the future. Slightly adjusting his hat so that the rim wasn't concealing his eyes, Kinzoku eventually let go a smile as the cigar remaining hanging from his mouth. After several pictures the old man informed them when the pictures would be ready. The team finally set out for the temple, Allegro leading the way and Kinzoku trailing behind the three of them.
The travel was long and uneventful, exactly how Kinzoku expected it to go. With the exception of some stray jaguar, the team made it to the temple unharmed by the dangers of the forest. They eventually came upon a smaller village. But before that they spotted the temple they were hired to protect. It was a great temple and to be quite honest Kinzoku was surprised he had never heard of it before. He should have known about something as majestic and grand as this temple was. Once entering the village Kinzoku's attention went from analyzing the place to the old man approaching towards them with a younger child. The man was the one who asked Konoha to send ninja over for protection. He went by the name Tazuna. Kinzoku kindly greeted the man and walked alongside him as they approached the temple. He listened closely as the man explained the history of the place, the temple, and it's current situation. Kinzoku found the method strange to simply destroy the temple since this Mr. Tsunami couldn't have it. If he could hire muscle to destroy it, why not use the same muscle to simply take control over it? Whatever the reasons, it did not concern the Jounin. His task was to protect the place and that's what he would do.
Higuto had responded to the mans desperate plea for the their help. Kinzoku gently placed his hand onto the old man's back as if to reassure him. "You can rest easy tonight, Tazuna. We'll keep this place safe." They had finally reached the steps to the temple and as expected it was even bigger in person. Before Tazuna could depart, Kinzoku reached into his jacket and grabbed a bit of ryo. "Would you be so kind as to buy some food for us. It was a long way here and a full stomach would go a long way for us" he said, glancing over to Higuto with a smile. Yeah, he could hear the Aburame's rumbling stomach. Tazuna took the ryo kindly and ventured off into the village while team 7 moved into the temple. They followed Allegro as he set up a scroll with a map drawn out of the general layout. Quite impressive to be honest. When he had the time to draw this out the Nazar was uncertain, but it didn't really matter. For now he simply stood looking down at the map as Allegro explained how he wanted to go about this. When he was done explaining his plan, Allegro looked towards Kinzoku to see what he thought. "I don't think I could have explained it any better" he began, a smile on his face. "With Higuto's insects planted into the forest I'm not sure we even need the steel wire and your chakra chains. But it's better to be cautious and prepared for everything. It's a neat little touch. There's only one thing I should add. I'm afraid tracking them to their hideout may be outside the scope of our mission. We're only here to protect the temple. Following them to their hideout may require us to abandon the mission" which Allegro was well aware of because he mentioned not straying too far from the temple. "We'll go with your plan, it's as good as any. We'll try to track them if possible. But purely for intel purposes. Our primary task is keeping this place safe. Any additional tasks come after the completion of the mission."
Once Allegro cleared his scroll off the table, he further improved his plan by planting little black marks behind their ears which would allow the team to communicate telepathically. The jutsu was an impressive one and would go a long way to helping guarantee the success of the mission. And just like that, Tazuna arrived with the food. Bowls of rice with raw salmon and tuna. He tipped the old man for his services, sat with his team and began eating. Once they were done he gave the go to deploy everyone and set up their traps. Kinzoku used about 100 meters of wire he created to set up all around the temple on each side. A bit in the village, some all over the forest, and a small amount in specific areas around the river where he would be located. After he, Allegro and Higuto finished setting up their wire, chains and bugs respectively, they would all be required to set up in the locations assigned to them by Allegro. Finding the spot where the river was closest to the temple, the Nazar sat down just beside it an crossed his legs. Nightfall was fast approaching. Only time would tell if tonight was the night the bandits decided to take action. "In position?" Kinzoku said through the use of the telepathy seal, waiting for a confirmation from each of his students.

Po, Bo, and Wu were all sitting outside their hut huddled around a fire. Situated all around them were other huts, tents, and buildings with broken doors and barred windows. The trio were dressed in ragged clothing, torn and ripped here an there and not the cleanest clothing either. Each one had their hair in a tangled mess as well. Basically, they fit right in with the majority of the people in this village who had very little ryo to their name. The three were relatively young, all being in their teenage years. "We're wasting our time here" Po spoke out, clearly aggravated at the current situation he found himself in. "Relax you cry baby" spoke out his twin sister Bo, "we're only going to be here a few more hours before it's time." They were both interrupted by the third one sitting around the fire pit. "Quiet down you two, you're going to blow our cover if you don't shut up. Don't lose sight of our task or you know what he'll do to us" Wu said, as the three of them turned to gaze upon the magnificent temple sitting just at the end of the village they found themselves in.
As the three sat around the fire ripping at scraps of left-over rabbit, they soon turned their attention to something for captivating. Prey. Newcomers had just entered the village and were quickly greeted by Tazuna. That old man was at it again. "So the village has hired guards ehh" Wu spoke to himself as he silently watched, much like everyone else in the village was currently doing as he silently ate his rabbit meat. They watched as the new comers made it all the way to the temple and inside, out of sight. "We're going to need more food for tonight" Wu began as he looked over to the twins. He glanced over to Bo as he said "go out into the forest to hunt some more, we'll keep the fire going." Bo nodded before gingerly getting up and exiting the village. Though she wasn't actually hunting for food. She was reporting back to her superior to inform him that Konoha shinobi had arrived.
As nightfall came, Bo came back to their fire pit with orders from their superior. They were merely scouts, and scouting is what they were going to do again. They were tasked with scouting out the temple, see what kind of set up the Konoha team were in and report back. "That's all we ever do" protested Po, clearly unhappy with the decision that was made. "That's our job" Wu added in, the leader of the current 3 man squad. "We need to prove to them we can get the job done before we're given proper work you idiot." Po held his tongue, merely glaring with anger at Wu. "Let's move, they'll be expecting a reply from us anytime now" Bo reminded them. The three of them quickly put out their fire and headed back into the wood. Based on where their hut was situated, they were fairely covered by the surrounding living spaces and thus could sneak into the woods out of sight.
Once in the woods and out of sight, the each clapped their hands together canceling the transformation jutsu to reveal their true selves. They were each garbed in similar clothing. They wore black cloth covering their entire body from neck down. Included were also chest plates, shoulder pads, forearm guards, and shin guards all made from metal. Bo and Po's hair returned to it's natural fiery red as Wu reverted back to his bald self. The only difference was that Po had a katana strapped to the side of his left hip. They quickly used the cover of the night as they traveled on the edge of the forest and village heading for the main entrance of the temple. While in cover, the spotted a single dark-skinned shinobi at the entrance of the temple. "They must have split up" Wu whispered to the other two. But they needed to confirm it, so they moved to the north side of the temple deeper into the woods. Here they spotted another one of the Konoha shinobi, this one covering his visage with his hood. "So they have split" Po said with a grin on his face, "fools". Wu turned around while saying "let's report back, He's going to want to hear this." Po's glare remained on the hooded Konoha nin, his face becoming more menacing by the second.
"Screw this" Po said, "I'm going to prove to them that they're wasting my talents" as he grabbed the hilt of his katana as dashed right out of the forest and towards Higuto. With blinding speed, Po reached the Aburame in no time. At that very moment he unsheathed his katana in one clean sweep in an attempt to cleave right through Higuto, making him two halves instead of one whole. "No, brother!" Bo yelled, trying to stop him. But there was no stopping her twin brother now. "Dammit. Bo, report back to Him. I'll cover Po" Wu said as he clapped his hands together enveloping the entire north side of the temple in a thick mist. With clear displeasure, Bo left the scene to report back.

Re: Protect The Temple

With some slight modifications to the plan made by Kinzoku sensei, the team was ready to execute their mission as the sun fell. Higuto, Jason, Kinzoku sensei, and Allegro were all mentally connected, and were probably just getting used to the idea of sharing each others thoughts. They would be able to share a laugh together as Allegro unintentionally leaked out a perverse thought. Even as the caster of the jutsu, he had to get used to using it in a practical situation. Tazuna san returned with fresh food for Team seven to replenish their energy. The gluttonous Uzumaki tore through several bowls, and if HIguto and Jason were not careful, they would turn their head for a split second only to realize that their bowls of food had been licked clean too. Allegro laid on his back with his swollen stomach facing upward as the sun fell against the horizon. It was time to carry out their plan.
Once his appetite was satiated, the team split up to their respective areas and prepare for any intruders. The Uzumaki would weave hand seals to conjure a simple clone to stand in front of the main entrance to the temple, the one closest to the village. He would then spread an array of thinly linked chakra chains throughout the outskirts between the temple and the village. The chain traps would work like snares, threatening to completely bind whoever came too close by the arms, legs, or entire body if there strength was under 50. Allegro had full control of his chains, and could manipulate them to move underground at his will. There was just the matter of knowing where the enemy would be coming from. That would have to come with a bit of patience. Allegro took cover in the shadows of the upper temple where he could have a bird’s eye view of the area below him. He surpressed his chakra to 0 looked up to see the moon and starlit sky. The light shined on his ebony skin, and gave him a natural hue that blended seamlessly with the stone walls of the temple. If they were going to make a move, now would be optimal. He touched his skin behind his right ear with his two fingers as he heard Kinzoku’s voice in his head, confirming that everyone was in position. When the Uzumaki looked out into the environment of the western region he was delegated to protect, it would be only him that could clearly see the myriad of yellow colored chains laid delicately to blend with the dirt ground, or in the shadows of the shrubbery that would expand into forest as he looked north. 'It’s all groovy on the West Side, sensei’ Allegro responded mentally. He would keep a close eye on the layout from the shadows while waiting for Higuto and Jason to check in.
During the communication, Allegro would focus his attention on something he thought he felt out there. What he was feeling was the chakra signature of a shinobi somewhere in his region. Since he had the chakra signatures of all his teammates memorized, He could easily distinguish this one from theirs. But wait, there’s more. Allegro also recognized this chakra signature to be the same as one he picked up in town when they first met with Tazuna. Whomever it was, they were disguised as common folk in town, possibly for surveillance. At the time, Allegro thought nothing of it. After all it was possible that there were shinobi living in the town. However, the fact that the same chakra was approaching the temple as night fell could not be coincidence, and so, Allegro put the pieces together. ‘I think I may have something. I can sense shinobi nearby. Three of them. They’re heading northbound.’
The simple clone Allegro had summoned had turned out to be successful bait. The three missing ninja had drawn close enough for the original Uzumaki to see and sense clearly from his bird’s eye view up in the west side of the tower. To his surprise, they did not try to attack the clone and then infiltrate. Allegro began to move with urgency, realizing that they were heading straight for Higuto. With his chakra still suppressed, and his footsteps softened to an inaudible level using futon chakra, Allegro ran as he rearranged the position of his chain traps to intercept the intruders before they reached the forest. As the rogues traveled north with calculated steps, unless one of them had the ability to detect the chakra chains from below ground, each of them would trigger one of his traps. The chains would flail recklessly to envelope their neck, arms, legs, and finally their midsection. Unfortunately, one of them would have enough reaction speed to escape while another had enough strength to simply break through them if he chose. The only one who things looked quite grim for was the rogue known as Wu, who would be caught completely by surprise and would be totally bound to a nearby tree in tightly gripping chains that threatened to break every bone in his body if there were any sudden movements from him or his partners. All while this happened, Allegro continued to report to the rest of his team.
‘I recognize them from the village while passing through to get to the temple. I think I managed to trap one of them'
From the shadows on top of a tree brach 30 meters from the scene, Allegro got a good look at the infiltrators. He waited to see if the teammates that evaded capture would continue on toward Higuto or stay and try to help the one that got captured. Allegro readied two senbon needles in his right hand to thwart any attempt to do the latter. It turns out that the one bound with chains was the one with the most powerful chakra of the three. Naturally, this intrigued Allegro a great deal. He wanted to study shinobi with remarkable amounts of chakra so that he can become one himself. Since becoming a genin, he had already studied under jounin with unthinkable chakra levels, as well as trained with his own teammates, who both had remarkable power. He had even befriended a jinchuuriki within the village, who’s dormant power gave Allegro quite a scare upon first meeting her. For one reason or another, the genin was drawn towards ninja with high chakra levels.
Having interrupted the missing ninja’s plot to scout the temple and report back to their leader, the twins would have to decide on whether to continue their mission or fight with Allegro. Either way, Allegro trusted his teammates to hold their own, and had confidence that his own training would pay off. At least, Allegro had done enough to interrupt Wu’s plan to assist Po in attacking Higuto. With no mist to cloud his sight, Higuto would be able to counterattack.
