Patrolling the Temple [P]
Sat Sep 10, 2016 11:35 pm
- Mission Specs:
- Mission Name: Patrolling the Temple
Rank: C
Type: Patrol, Protection
Character Requirements: Genin Squad/Chuunin or higher.
Mission Location: Forest, Konoha
Word Count Requirements: 4000
Repeatable? Yes
Reward: 2000 Ryo
Task: A temple deep within the forests of the fire nation has begun to receive threats from a missing ninja group known as “The Bandit-masters”. Intel shows that they are a large group of missing ninja that are displaced due to the destruction of their home, Kiri. Already groups of these ninjas have been spotted near the borders of the temple. Though the group is too big to destroy the leaders of the village have asked you (or your genin team) to patrol the temple for the night and make sure that they don’t try anything. Any attempt to attack the temple by affiliates of the group should be dealt with extreme force, leave no survivors. The temple must not be sieged.
The group will consist of three D-rank MN, two C-rank MN, and one B-rank MN, all of which will be NPC'd by staff or someone on the mission. (Must provide a challenge for those partaking on the mission, or else it will be denied.) Each MN will have their starting rank's stats plus twenty, alongside at least one jutsu of each rank they are allowed to have. Specs and elements are up to the person NPC'ing.
A shadow appeared in the dark night followed by the sounds of dry leaves getting crushed. Ayumi trudged along the path, the sound of her footsteps was loud compared to the silent night. The kunoichi came to a halt near a tree at the entrance of the forest. Circling her neck, she tried to keep herself awake. It wasn't late into the night, but the young girl was already tired for some weird reason; it could have been due to the fact that she had been slacking off for quite some time—the trip to Sunagakure was obviously a vacation rather than a mission considering the fact that all she did was escort a boy back to the village. She needed to get back in shape, that was for sure. Suppressing a yawn, she would lean against the tree bark to her right as she stared off into the distance.
She had sent a letter to each one of her teammates earlier that day, asking the three to get ready for a mission. Ayumi was never the kind of person to do missions late at night; reason being, missions during the night required her to be more alert as compared to doing missions during the day. She'd honestly rather sleep or study than walking blindly in the dark. As time passed, the girl was becoming more sleepy and hence had decided to do some light stretches whilst waiting for the rest of the team to show up. Hopefully, the stretches would do the trick and wake her up a bit more for good. Circling her neck once more, the girl flapped her arms around before dropping into a squat. She looked ridiculous but that didn't matter. Taking a deep breath, she glanced around the area, looking for any signs of movement.
Letting a yawn escaped, the girl would rub her eyes, wiping away the tears which had formed. Pushing herself up into a standing position, the girl would leap up onto a branch of the tree to her right. She gently sat down on the branch before leaning against the tree as she kept an eye on the entrance of the forest. Flipping the hood of her dark gray hoodie up, the girl would make herself comfortable, her eyes half-lidded, looking like she was about to fall asleep. She somewhat regretted changing into a pair of shorts as the gentle wind blew past her—she should have definitely stuck with her pajamas. Well, tough luck, princess. With so, the girl wold await for the arrival of her teammates.

It was that time yet again, for their team to meet up and go on yet another mission together. They had gone on quite a few missions together as of late. Some with Ayumi sensei, others with just the Killer K's. Yeah, that how Kotsuzui referred to himself, Kisuke and Kaze. He came up with the idea one night while drunk, though the drunk part he would leave out if anyone asked. They made think him of being just a fool. It was now night time and the Kaguya was making his way to the gate. Dressed in his traditional black kimono and his white scarf in case it got chilly during the night, the Kaguya was also wearing basic footwear. He usually didn't but he did not want to get reprimanded by his sensei, maybe even beaten up. So he just listened to what she told him to do. On his way there he began thinking, why was their team assigned so many missions? Was it a way of keeping their team busy and not have them going around doing nothing? Or was it because they were so effective as a team that Konoha wanted them handling many of their missions due to there being a higher success rate? Kotsuzui went with the latter as he began to grin slightly at the thought of it.
Arriving at the gate, it took him a while before noticing Ayumi sensei had been sitting up on a tree outside of the village. He had been expecting her to still be within the village and spent a minute or two looking for her. "It's been a while Sensei!" Kotsuzui blurted as he walked past the gate and towards his sensei. "How was the trip, I hear it's pretty hot down there" the Kaguya said sarcastically with a grin. Kotsuzui looked around for a brief moment before looking back up at his sensei. "Well would you look at that, I think it's the first time I arrive before the others. I call that improvement" he spoke, simply passing the time before the others arrived. He could see Ayumi was tired, probably due to her mission in Suna. So he tried his best to keep her awake.

"You've got to be kidding me." were Kisuke's words when he got Ayumi's letter detailing their next mission. He was assigned yet another mission that was not even the Chuunin rank up mission he had been working so hard for these past few months. All those missions him, Kaze and Kots went on were suppose to be enough to get them to qualify for their rank up mission, yet here he was with a letter on his table informing him of yet another mission. What a fucking drag.
Strolling through the streets with a cool breeze in the night air, Kisuke pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a match box from the two pockets of his leather black jacket that was fully unzipped, revealing the simply white t-shirt he wore under and the Konoha headguard loosely tied around his waist. Pushing a cigarette out, the young Uchiha slipped into his mouth. Swiping a single match across its container, a spark light up, setting the match aflame and creating a single tiny light in the dark empty street he found himself on. Throwing the match aside as the end of his cigarette sparkled, Kisuke slid his hands back into his leather jacket pockets and enjoyed the wave of relaxation that overtook him with every inhale. In no time he made it to the tree line where Ayumi Sensei and Kotsuzui were already waiting. Nodding towards the Kaguya, Kisuke would turn his attention to the kunoichi and mumbled "Welcome back sensei. Hope your not missing the heat too much."

More mail sent to the wrong person I guess. Kirino thought while reading the letter assigned to someone named Kaze. Normally, Kirino would have set the paper aside but it seemed the meeting time was only moments away. There would be no time to track down the person who has delivered it or find this mysterious Kaze. I guess I am going then. Petting her pet fox Kirino out on a white and purple kimono before heading towards the village gates.
Kirino brought the letter for Kaze with her in case there were any questions. Once at the gate she noticed one familiar face it was her fellow Kaguya clansman Kotsuzui. "You wouldn't happen to know about a mission to a temple would you?" She would ask stopping in front of him with the letter for Kaze in her left hand.

Her moment of peace was disrupted by the appearance of Kotsuzui, who was chirpy as per usual despite it being in the middle of the night. The dark haired girl sat up slightly as her eyes followed the boy's steps towards her. Maybe it was somewhat good timing on his side considering that fact that she was about to fall asleep, to be quite honest. The girl lifted her head and widened her eyes, forcing them open—her petty attempt at trying to stay awake.
Ayumi side-eyed the boy as he came to a stop nearby and asked her about her trip to Sunagakure. The kunoichi stared into space for a couple of seconds before answering the male. To be honest, she really didn't do much in the village except for walking around and wasting her time and energy. As one could see, her time in Sunagakure was indeed productive. Not long after, Kisuke entered the scene. As per usual, he had a cigarette lit up. Ayumi would wrinkle her nose at the smell of the smoke as the Uchiha greeted her. Shooting back a reply, the girl would rub her eyes before pushing herself off of the branch. Now, all they had to do was wait for Kaze's arrival before heading to the actual mission site. She suppressed a yawn and scanned the area for any signs of movement. Leaning back against the bark behind her, she would cross her arms across her chest. A couple of minutes had passed before an unexpected guest made an appearance, shooting a question towards Kotsuzui.
The sudden appearance of a young girl had caused the kunoichi to raise her left eyebrow up. Her question had made Ayumi turn around to face the girl as she tried to make sense of the situation. I sent the letter to the wrong person...? What? But I-I sent it to.. The girl's thoughts came to a halt. Has her tiredness consumed her whole? Did she happen to be clumsy and careless when sending the letters?

Ayumi wasn't very responsive on this night and Kotsuzui did not think much about it. He just summed it all up to her being exhausted from her mission. But she just recently came back from a mission in Suna, so why would they assign her another mission shortly after her arrival. And at night to add to it? Did they really want Kotsuzui and his teammates doing this mission because they were so effective? Or was it because they were the only available team? Kotsuzui went with the former rather than the latter. Kisuke arrived shortly after casually suffocating his lungs away. It reminded Kotsuzui of his own habit of drinking all the time. For that brief moment he got the urge to pull out a bottle of sake to drink, but with Ayumi sensei hovering just above him it was probably a bad idea. After a quick rub of her eyes, she had jumped down to join the first two of her students. What if her fatigue effected her during this mission?
After a few moments of waiting, Kotsuzui's attention shifted to the gate as he noticed someone else approaching them. But it wasn't Kaze. It was Kirino who he had met not too long ago. "You're a sight for sore eyes" Kotsuzui said with a grin as he greeted his fellow Kaguya. He was wondering why she was here so late at night at his confusion was only met with more question. She asked about a mission to a temple, which happened to be the one they were currently waiting to set out on. With a raised eyebrow displaying his confusion, Kotsuzui spotted the letter in her hand. "Yeah, that's the mission we were assigned to. But we're waiting for Kaze." Kotsuzui glanced over to Ayumi to see if she had any input but she looked just as confused. "Are we doing this mission as a five person team, sensei?" Kotsuzui asked, waiting to see what had happened.

Placing his back onto the hard bark of a tree, Kisuke would lean back onto it as he waited. Ayumi sensei seemed tired, maybe from her travels or maybe cause this mission was taking place at the dead of night. Come to think of it, Kisuke was pretty tired himself. Not really sure who they were waiting for, Kisuke would cross his arms and close his eyes as he calmy waited for whoever their new teammate would be. With the cigarette slowly burning away at the edge of his lips with every methodic inhale, the red headed Uchiha would lazily open his drowsy eyes and gaze upwards at the source of this unfamiliar voice. As she approached and started up a conversation with Kotsuzui, Kisuke would shift his gaze over to Ayumi. Looking at his sensei's reaction, Kisuke figured she was not expecting the arrive of this new comer due to her slightly confused expression.
Turning back to face the two Kaguya's converse, Kisuke would overhear Kotsuzui mentioned Kaze's name. "Wait, were waiting for Kaze?" Asked the Uchiha has he simultaneously pulled what little remained of his cigarette out of his mouth so that he could speak more clearly. "Isn't he taking a break from being a shinobi or something? None of you guys herd?" Kisuke was not 100% sure himself but he seemed to remember that Kaze was taking some sort of indefinite break from his shinobi duties. "I dont think he'll be joining us tonight especially since he didnt even get the letter so we might as well take whoever the hell this is with us, if she can hold her own that is." This girl was only here because she accidentally received a letter originally intended for Kaze and even though Kots knew here Kisuke knew nothing about her.

The jounin seemed rather worried maybe Kirino was right in coming to replace the ninja who was supposed to be on the mission. If memory served the Kaguya well the other girl on the team was a village jounin. Was she leading this squad which included the smoking guy, Kotsuzui and… What was the other guy’s name again Kaze?
Kirino waved to her clansman as he mentioned her being a sight for sore eyes. ”Indeed, it is also good to see you.” She would say stopping before him with a smile. Kirino would then address the males questions after discussing with the red haired Kaguya. ”This letter is assigned to Kaze Uchiha, but it seems the carrier has given me the wrong mail.”
The girl was about to say that she would be willing to come before her ability was questioned by the smoking ninja. ”If that is a challenge, I will gladly accept.” She would say while still smiling. ”Perhaps it should wait until later though, when conditions are more favorable.” By that she meant when their wasn’t a matter that needed urgent attention.
”If you would like I could join you on your mission as a replacement.” The question was directed to the jounin it would be her decision anyway. If the girl wanted her to leave Kirino was happy, if she wanted her to stay then money, so yay!

“He is taking a break?” the girl blurted out. Well, she obviously wasn’t aware of that. Her eyes scanned the newcomer; guess she could just ask the girl to join the team and replace Kaze in the time being. As if being able to read her mind, the newcomer offered to replace Kaze during the mission—that is if Ayumi agreed.
Closing her eyes, the jounin let out a sigh before speaking out, “Uh.. okay.. uh.. so let's get going shall we?" She directed the question to all three of the shinobi present. A split second had passed before she mumbled, “What’s your name?” directing it towards the girl.
Whilst waiting for the girl to reply, Ayumi signalled the three to follow her as she made her way towards the actual mission site, briefing them on the mission along the way. "Our mission tonight sounds a lot easier than it is, I guess," the girl paused for a split second before continuing, "We are going to patrol a temple. A group of missing ninjas is expected to attack the temple at any given time tonight, so please be on alert. We could either take shifts or we could all patrol the temple at the same time - which one would you prefer?" The girl stopped talking, allowing enough time for the three to respond to her question before continuing, "I don't want any of you dying, so please be extra careful. If you become tired in the middle of patrolling, tell me. Back on the topic of possible attacks: Kill if needed; the group of missing ninja should be dealt with extreme force. They are dangerous so don't take them lightly." The girl halted her speech for a minute or so to allow her teammates to digest the information before following up, "Any questions?"

It seemed Kisuke had some information pertaining to Kaze. Maybe because they were both Uchiha's so they had close ties to one another? Who knew, but there had to be a reason for Kisuke knowing and not even their own sensei. It seemed the Uchiha was taking a 'break' from his duties as a shinobi, whatever that meant. Kotsuzui just summed it up to Kaze having some important matters to attend to, which was a shame. Kotsuzui enjoyed having him around since they had first sparred with one another. Kisuke then proposed having Kirino take the place of the Uchiha assuming she could hold her own. A grin spread across Kotsuzui's face as he listen to the two. Typical of Kisuke, he wasn't very good with other people. "Now that would be entertaining" Kotsuzui said in reference to the two battling it out as he could very much vouch for Kirino's strength. Though Kirino was right, it would have to wait for another time. "Make sure I'm there when it happens, Wouldn't want to miss that" he said before leaning towards to Kirino to whisper something to her. "He uses cheap tricks like genjutsu" he whispered as he chuckled a little.
After Kirino introduced herself to their sensei, the team set off towards the location of the temple. It seemed that this mission was going to be a tough one as they were assigned to protect a temple under the assumption that missing ninja were going to attack. Kotsuzui felt a small tingle in his blood when missing nin were mentioned. That meant only one thing, there was sure to be action. Ayumi proposed that they either take shifts or patrol the temple at the same time. Kotsuzui expected her to simply give out the orders on how to proceed, but instead she gave options and allowed for her students input as well. He thought that was nice call on her part, but at the end of the day it would still be her decision to make. "Let's take shifts" Kotsuzui said as he gave his input. "I'm fine with doing a shift on my own. Though we don't know how many missing nin plan on coming, if any at all. Two people people a shift could be an option just to be cautious" the Kaguya proposed to his sensei. Taking shifts would allow Ayumi to at least get in a quick nap in case things did go south, one of the reasons the Kaguya voted for taking shifts.
Kotsuzui waited to hear his two teammates opinions on the matter, and would thus also wait for their sensei's decision. Now that he knew there was no holding back if an encounter were to arise, Kotsuzui was kind of hoping they were attacked now. But he had to try and remember Ayumi's words. He had to put aside his thirst for a fight and consider the safety of himself and the team before making any rash decisions.
