Investigating the sewers [P]

Mission Details:

While he still didnt get why he was been sent on so many of these missions, Shinoskay tried to justify that there was a need for a thorough sweep to make sure none of the kirigakure ninja had stayed behind when the occupation left.  He also couldnt help but scoff at the notion that the village could be trying to sweep out any hidden spies consider how exceptionally likely it was the invasion force looted any and all scraps of secret information the village had. Perhaps spy's could be left behind to insure no resistance force or something formed but then wouldnt trying to weed out spy's kind of show kiri there is such a force?

Well, the junior genin knew he didnt have ANY of the details but he was told to meet a chuunin and a squad out by one of the sewer entrances.

Three weeks had passed without much trouble since the incident at the academy. Kozachi and Kenjiro seemed to have a mutual understanding of each other's abilities at this point. Kenjiro also had come to the conclusion that there was something he needed to finish by himself in terms of his inadequacy to deal with issues like his sister could. He received a mission summons that morning, telling him to report to a sewer entrance along with two other Genin and a Chuunin. With a heavy sigh he dressed in his normal garb; A pair of cargo pants, combat boots, a tucked in shirt with a cloth half jacket with the Clan symbol on the back like the rest of his family. He had, of course, strapped the hidden weapon mechanism on his right shoulder and the ring on his middle finger in case he had a kunai that he was able to grab from a careless ninja.

Once he arrived at the location he sighed as he looked around, finding one person there waiting as leaned against a wall near the entrance.
"So, you apart of this sewer mission I take it?" He would ask as he would wait for a reply and the rest of the team.

Allegro rose from his steaming hot bath at the spa, careful not to get any water on his precious headphones that played his favorite music. He had been called away from his day of relaxation to carry out yet another mission. He donned his ninja attire: a belt that strapped around his waist and right thigh that carried all of his ninja scrolls and weapons pouches, which was tied over his white robe with loose sleeves. The Uzumaki symbol was embroiled on his backside. He chose to wear shoes instead of sandals today, after being tipped off that today's mission was related to some issues the village sewage system was having. He left the spa promptly and dashed through the tree tops until he approached the meeting spot for the mission, all the while reflecting on the training he had done with Kinzoku sensei and the other genin members of Team 7, Jason Senju and Higuto Aburame. Considering the fact that today's mission was a full 4 person squadron, Allegro wanted to make sure he made a good impression.

When the male arrived at the meeting point, casually floating from the treetops to the ground nearby where two other genin were standing. One of them had a familiar face, the other he had not seen before. And what's more, Allegro noticed the clan symbol on the strangers back to be one he was unfamiliar with. Konoha was full of surprises, it seems. Allegro approached the two ninja  with his hands in his pockets and his music playing loud in his ears. He nodded his head towards Shinoskay as a gesture of greeting, then he turned to face the Uchiha and did the same. Allegro could sense a strong chakra from the Uchiha, one to rival his own, which made the boy curious to see his abilities. He would get comfortable by finding a nice spot on the wall to lean his back onto while the 3 genin waited for their chuunin leader to arrive and commence the mission. The Uchiha spoke, confirming that we were all here for the same mission. Allegro would cross his arms and nod his head in affirmation, considering it unfortunate for the three of them that they had to spend their day in the smelly sewers of a densely populated village like Konoha. Yikes. Allegro had to make sure to use his surface walking technique on this mission. While continuing to feel out his partners' chakra levels, he noticed that Shinoskay had become a bit stronger as well. He was glad to see him doing so well. His focus was interrupted as another familiar chakra signature approached. This mission would be interesting after all.

From her perch in a tree Love could see the first of the three genin that she was to lead on today's mission arrive. It was the little orphan boy Shinoskay, she didn't know what he was thinking but he had scoffed to himself. The next to appear was a taller kid, an Uchiha with a ponytail. She hadn't seen him before but she was familiar with some Uchiha so he should be a good asset. And last but not least the red dread Uzumaki she'd done a mission with not too long ago. He showed up looking rather clean and for whatever reason chose to wear white for a mission in the sewer. Love took a breath and jumped down, landing in a spot where all three of the boys had a clear view of her.

Even though she was strong enough she made sure not to crack the earth beneath her feet. The most that would happen was a little dust rising, that would act as her sigh as she had yet again been in charge of a group of boys. "I've already introduced myself to Allegro once before but for the rest of you, my name is Love Sakumo. You may address me as Ai-sama or Ai-sensei." She announced as her eyes scanned over their faces making sure that they were paying attention. "Today our mission is to figure out what the cause of the strange noises some villagers have been hearing is. Any questions?" She would once again look face to face to see what their reactions were. If there were none she would ask their names, specialties, and known elements. However, if one of them did have a question they were expected to greet her and state their name before asking. After the possible questions were answered Love would hand them each a forehead flashlight, that would be capable of fitting over their ninja headband should they be wearing it properly.

As per his typical, Shinoskay was quick to fall into a pressed polite demeanor as others presented themselves. "Ah, yes kohei, apparently I have also been assigned to this mission as well. I hope I will not become a burden." the Junior genin makes a small bow, he was about speak again when he noticed the arrival of Allegro, to be respectful he would wait and watch the approach of there teammate while analyzing the difference in appearance and equipment. It was interesting to Shinoskay to see such contrasts.

Once more, he found that as he moved into a preparatory action to speak he found that there was more cause to pause before doing so.

Love's entrance from the tree would almost startle, he made a point to listen closely to what was said. As she finished, he spoke quickly and somewhat abruptly "Hai, Ai-Sensei, are there any suspicions or ideas of what the noises could be?" When saying sensei would bow slightly.

So one by one the rest of the team arrived...well the two that were not there anyway that is. The one that was identified as Allegro was the next to arrive as he just seemed to play it cool. Typical ninja bravado, since his little incident at the academy it seemed that people looked at the Uchiha boy differently, including his own clan members. The mission that he and his sister made for themselves seemed a bit bigger now than originally thought. Once they were all gathered the female spoke to let them know of their mission as Kenjiro just stood there and listened as the female ninja, whose name he remembered for later, Love Sakumo. She was quick to give a rundown on the mission and tell us how to address her. Kenjiro bowed to his senior and then did not say another word, even as she asked if they had any questions before they began.

"The quicker this happened, the quicker he could go wash off the stink." His inner voice croaked, yet he was quiet in the actual meet. It was but a scoff later and he would announce that he was ready. Once the team was ready he would follow whoever led, making sure to stay near the middle so that he could stay out of direct combat if it came to it. He did not possess the power of having strong direct attack jutsu under his belt just yet.

Love sighed, only the silent Uchiha seemed to know proper etiquette, a shame since one was an Uzumaki. However, that would not stop the Hyuuga from answering the orphan's question. "No, all of the reports have been inconsistent which is why we're going directly in to find the source." Love would then pull out a map of the sewer system. "There are three paths although only two that meet back in the center and lead to a final tunnel that leads away from the village. You'll be split into groups based on your capabilities or lack thereof." She said giving them each a better once over to see if she could see any muscle definition. She could feel a decent chakra level coming from Allegro and the Uchiha but Shinoskay's was hardly recognizable. Love would hold out the map she'd already memorized so that they could get a better understanding of the sewer system. "State your name, specialty, and known elements." She would say to the three handing each one their flashlight after they stopped talking. "We've not been provided with coms for this mission so if you come across the cause of the sounds... Handle it." She would say very sternly. "If you couldn't tell I do have the byakugan and will be able to see you in case things get out of hand and will come to your aid." If they truly were worthy of their titles then they wouldn't need any help.

B-rank mission or not, they shouldn't at all let that get to their heads if it were really that serious a task the village wouldn't have allowed genin to take it. They would likely end up finding an animal and/or a family living down there. Heck, it might even be some idiot kids that wanted to scare people, the sewer didn't just filter waste from homes but also had storm drains. Whatever it was, hopefully, these inexperienced boys didn't drag it out Love would rather not spend more time than needed down there. So once they were finally ready Love would nod to them all and then pull up her black mask that was bunched around her neck and hidden by the collar of her flak jacket.

It would allow her to breathe easy while they were down there although she'd still need a long hot bath afterward. After they lifted the hatch, which would need to be heavier if there were kids playing down here, and climbed down one group would go left while the other went right. The short tunnel directly in front of them led to a filter that sifted out obstructions and forced the filthy liquid down the trenches.

When Love expressed exasperation to him asking his question, he couldnt help but furrow his eyes in confusion. In his youth, he was unable to see why someone would ask a question without the actual interest of getting an answer, unless they were asking sarcastically but she was suppose to be leading here and she didnt seem sarcastic, 'Is it because I am an orphan?'.

His observation of the others was that the Uchiha, a clan he was almost entirely unaware of, seemed to have a more practiced manners then the orphan while Allegro seemed to disregard them almost entirely... he didnt think this was meant to be malicious or intentional as over the many times Shinoskay as interacted with him the Uzimaki has demonstrated empathy, compassion, and a generally kind nature if not jovial and so it was likely that this was just his typical demeanor or propensity. The music did seem rather overt though but the senior genin had demonstrated sound ability to operate with the headphones to the musing boy.

As Sakumo stated she wanted her present squad to present their name, specialty, and Affinity it seemed since Shinoskay was the one more apt to speak up he felt he should follow this trend at least for this situation as it is possible the others expected it of him at this point "I am Shinoskay, an orphan, I specialize in ninja tool manipulation through chakra threads and my chakra test disintegrated the paper." It sounded cool, and he wanted to say more, but he knew he wasn't the only one and he also had the impression that the more wordy the worse in his squad leaders perspective so he held his tongue on further information.

When the time came, he would happily accept the light and attach it to his headband that was indeed on his forehead.

As she moved to open the sewer grate, the ophan boy also opted to lift a plain cloth fabric up over his mouth and noise. It wasnt anything special or unique but hopefully it would help at least keep any nasty water from entering his mouth by accident, that would be the worst.

Once again, he found he was the one most ready to enter the sewer, he happened to be the closest or something, and so while he took a quick look into the passageway before he jumped, observing the filtering system, he made sure not to hesitate or dawdle too long so as to not hold up everyone else.

Upon entering, he could immediately feel a slight draft, the air was cold, and he could feel an almost slimed humidity immediately beginning to cling to his skin, hair, and even his cloths. It wasn't thick, nor heavy, while it was true that a great deal of waste water came through the sewer there was still several dozens of times more wash water and just plain water flushing its way through as well but this didnt stop what little waste there was from making itself known.

He couldn't help but note, as well, the varying pipes against the walls of the sewer tunnel. While there wasn't anything significantly impressive it wasnt just some mucky brown and green, bog water like, run off contained in a tunnel like he had imagined. If it weren't for the pipes and the hint of waste making itself known, he would almost feel like this was just a man made underwater river of some sort. Still, further, the obvious filth accumulating on the walls and the sound of rats scurrying away from the sudden surge of natural light made sure one absolutely knew this was a sewer.

He was almost equally quick to get out of the way of others entering as he was himself in entering.

As they introduced themselves per Ms. Love's orders Kenjiro did just as he was asked as he knew that the mission would not go any further until they did what she asked. Shino was apparently an orphan boy that specialized in ninja tool manipulation, he also threw in the little tidbit about his chakra testing. Some stuff like that was normally kept between master and apprentice till it was time to show to another student. Too much info and he did not care, but the one listening to music which Shino and Ms. Love seemed to know was a whole other annoyance as his music seemed to be like a bug on the inside of his ear. It would seem as though he was doing it intentionally, what an ass if he was.

Then it was his turn.

"Uchiha, Kenjiro. Genjutsu practitioner, and the chakra affinity of the clan as would be the norm." He would say and if they knew anything about his clan they would know that he had at least some fire chakra. He waited on designations of the teams before setting off to follow Shino.

As soon as the formalities were done it was time to descend into the sewers. The only clean part was the ladder leading down, and even then the stench was enough to make him want to wretch right in front of them. He would turn on whatever light source he had to light the way as he waited for the team to all arrive in the sewer system. The grime of the area just made him think of the fools that tried to kill him earlier in the month, lower than the shit he would inevitably step in down in this cesspool. He would carry on with the mission as Ms. Love told them.
