Stepping out
Mon May 07, 2018 2:08 am
Valen would stride up to the gates of the village. The Deputy kage would take a deep breath of the crisp evening air as he neared the entryway into the village. He decided he would be stepping out of the village for a bit. His duties weren’t too bad at the moment and he had some free time. He’d be back by morning assuredly. He would of course follow protocol and sign out at the gate before doing so though. It was only proper. He’d arrive at the guard house expecting to find two chunin guards. He would forget however that tonight the guards had a third wheel with them. A genin learning the ins and outs of gate duty. He’d stride up to the desk and look at the three individuals. He recognized Gin, he didn’t know the other one besides that they name was Ezric. The third individual he would have to get to know later. “Valen Akari, Deputy Hogokage, checking out for the night. Going to get some fresh desert air tonight” He would say to the guard.

This would be the second time Bedivere would be doing gate duty and it was way less exciting then the first day. Nothing had happened until the very end of the day where it seemed someone wished to leave for the night. A lone man named Valen Akari, who was also the Deputy Hogokage. The Knight did not know him personally and only was aware of his title and name by reputation, and even then he was left with little info. It was his job to do the proper paperwork however, so he got the proper sign out sheet and handed it to Valen. He looked up to speak to Valen to request him to sign and was unsure how to address him. He quickly made a decision with a small. “Here you go Deputy, just sign here and you should be all good.”
Inwardly he realized that maybe this was the kind of person who hated formality? Arthur would probably look down on it but Bedivere didn’t have much of a choice in the matter. He had to refer to the man as SOMETHING or it just wouldn’t feel right to the young Knight. He’d wait for the man's response, assuming he made any, and went about his duties.

Valen would take the form the quickly and efficiently sign it and check all the necessary boxes as he commented to the young knight. "I dislike formalities outside of mission briefings. Valen will do fine." He would say as he handed the clipboard back to the young knight. He looked surprisingly feminine but then again, lots of people were. They seemed to have a decent amount of feminine and muscular shinobi. What with Kyousuke downing enough protein supplements in a day to kill a horse and all. After passing the form back the deputy would nod his head at the guards. "I'm off then, I should be back by the morning." He would before turning and moving into the desert at his max speed. (125)

The Knight was a little embarrassed by his mistep, but took it with a nod and reclaimed his clipboard, setting it down on his desk. “Alright, Thank you Valen have a pleasant evening.”
Even that sentenced felt a little overly polite but the boy honestly couldn’t help himself. The Deputy would disappear into the night air as the gates would close and lock shut behind him. Bedivere sighed and shook his head. The night would be over soon enough and he sorely missed his bed. With a little rest, he would be able to get back on his knight training.
