Night of the Long Knives [Travel]
Thu Jun 06, 2019 7:52 pm
On board the mighty flagship that was The Silence, Xyxer walked along the deck that was coloured a dull shade of red, either by paint or some other, more vicious means. The golden intricacies seemed to breathe life into the ship now, and for a few seconds, Xyxer himself thought that Shoguns energies were bringing the Leviathan prow to life. Surely that was all in his mind... surely.

Something was not as Nero expected, though he couldn't put his finger on it. Either the size of the ship, or the number of people on it. But at least the exterior of the ship seemed oddly vacant to the Yuki's eyes. Regardless, he didn't feel disappointed. On the contrary, he rather felt proud of being what he assumed to be an elite group of people. Then that thought naturally transformed into another, that being the Chuunin being one of the weakest links. And that led to another, Nero had done nothing to be proud of. Not yet. That was one of the countless things (well, 12,135 to be exact, but he couldn't count that high) he had to fix.

Kotsuzui board the ship yet again, the first time doing so as a shinobi of Kirigakure. He had a lot to prove in the up coming battle. He needed to prove he belonged among a shinobi force that only knew winning. A shinobi force that was the definition of strength. As someone the Mizukage himself had taken in Kotsuzui had a lot to prove. It was only a matter of time whether Kotsuzui would do so. Finding a place on the edge of the deck near the railing, a sliver of a grin formed on Kotsuzui face as he mentally prepared himself for the impending battle.

The ship seemed much less imposing this time, after traveling on it twice. The aged wood reminded him so much of the ships in the harbor.
Hayate settled down where the rear of the main deck rose into the wall of the officers quarters that the main steering was mounted on, firmly in the "corner" against the railing. While they still had some time left he pulled out a book on fuinjutsu from the family library, one that had been used to aid in the creation of his new blade. He had best understand this stuff.

Nostalgia gripped at her as she crossed the threshold of The Silence, her heart pounding in dread as her heels inched her further and further onto the deck. Familiar and unknown faces alike stared at her as she made her way through, but whether their eyes were on her or the large wolf accompanying her, she didn’t know or care. Kuro and Hikari made their way to the railing, finding the comforting pink mohawk and making their way towards it. Having someone she trusted nearby helped give her the strength to carry on her first ‘mission’ in Kiri. She may have known the horrors of war firsthand, but her empathy for, and desire to help, others could not save them from the approaching storm.

He remained out of the way of most others. Stood off in a corner, the face of the tanuki staring down at the damp wood that made up the deck of the ship. There was nothing else to be said, not now. The masked man had no true business here. At any point during the voyage of the damned he could have disappeared without a trace.
Instead the mute remained, still enough to be confused with a feature of the ship perhaps if not for the striking white hair contrasting with the black cloak that was draped over his fom.
For a moment he stirred, eyes scanning the crowded deck and the faces of the those amongst him. At futile effort he thought. Why remember the faces of those who are doomed to fall? Whether at the gates or in the aftermath. None will be worthwhile to make a note of.
