Missing Puppy (P)

Fu woke up early today. Earlier than usual. Today was her first official mission as a Konoha shinobi and she was so excited that she barely slept. Although she had only been dealt the task of finding a lost dog, she was still eager to begin her career. Fu knew that the only way to excel through the ranks were by building a name for herself and as of now, she was nameless.

 

Fu geared up, sporting a green shirt and black pants. As of now she didn’t have many tools if any at all, but she hoped to save up the money she earned from doing missions to purchase supplies, eventually a sword. She had not touched a weapon since leaving the ROOT barracks and her hands were itching to get a hold of some new steel.

 

Departing from her small apartment room, she would descend a set of stairs and walk for about 3-5 minutes before reaching downtown Konoha. She would stop and stand momentarily, taking in the environment. Fu was not originally from Konoha, in fact, she was not sure where she was from, however she did not spend anytime here until joining the academy. The city was still fairy new to her.

 

Her eyes shifter from person to person while they made their way through the crowded streets. How was she ever going to find a lost dog amongst all these people? Fu pulled the mission paperwork from her pocket- it was a single page. It stated very little information, just the pups name and some of its interests.

Fu was no stranger to hunting animals, except ‘Hunting’ was different than ‘Saving’… Fu wandered the streets, her eyes scanning the sidewalk for any dogs passing by. She continued to do this for almost 2 hours before approaching a ramen shop that was near the center of the village. As she neared, she heard barking. It appeared that a dog was causing a small commotion with the staff of the eatery.

 

As she got closer, she could see a gray dog standing on two legs with it paws on the seat of a patron who was eating. A restaurant worked was attempting to lure the dog away, but with no luck. Fu approached the establishment and took one last look at the mission paperwork. The description seemed to match perfectly.

 

“Mona!”

 

Fu would say, attempting to get the attention of the dog. As the word escaped her lips, the dog’s attention immediately diverted from food to the Genin. That was when she knew that she had found the right dog. Producing a piece of durable string from her pocket, she would attach it to the dog and be on her way to the mission head quarters where she would turn in the dog, complete her mission, and collect her pay. She had completed her first mission, but Fu knew in order to get stronger she would need to complete more.
