Okuyama Brings the People His Wood [P] Empty Okuyama Brings the People His Wood [P]

Mission Specs:

Six years and the village still didn't feel quite like home. Maybe it was his cramped apartment, low pay rate, or generally low quality of life that made him miss his childhood residence. He could always go back to the farm if he wished, but resigning to a life of peasantry was something he felt beneath him. Okuyama sighed as he once again read over the documents containing his tasks for today.

Seeing as this was his first day officially on the job, they started him off with easy menial labor. Gathering lumber for the village wasn't glorious but it was necessary, and so he folded the piece of paper neatly and slid it into the back pocket of his uniform as he proceeded to leave the Mission Center.

Fortunately his jaunt through the village and to the gate was short lived. At the gate stood a burly man that Okuyama had assumed was the guard, based on his uniform. This man stopped him and requested that our titular hero state his business lest he be turned around and corralled back into the village.

"I'm here to leave the village to get lumber," Okuyama said, as he retrieved the mission writ from his back pocket. "Official Konoha business." He gave the man the paper and was cleared to leave. The man instructed him to walk west out of the gate for three miles to find a clearing that was usually used.

Three miles later, our boy arrived in the clearing. It appeared as if trees were cut down for miles, but very few stumps littered the land scape. This puzzled him a fair bit, but he had assumed some of his fellows dug up the stumps as well. He scoured his surroundings until he had found an axe with which to cut down a tree. Lo and behold, nearby, he had spotted a hatchet with a rather worn looking wooden handle and rusted looking head lodged within a stump. He went over to and placed a foot on the stump, a hand on the axe, and tried to wiggle it free with his strength. Thankfully this was no excalibur, and it came free rather easily. To his surprise the wedge of the axe was polished to a shiny silver, unlike the rest of the metal.

With his tool in hand he walked to the nearest tree and began sizing it up with his eyes. He estimated a rough twelve meters tall, which wasn't huge but it was manageable. The trunk was about a meter thick, from what he could tell.

Before sinking the axe into the delicious tree flesh, Okuyama started by taking a few slow practice swings. Upon his delivery of the axe head to the tree, he brought the wedge down at a forty five degree angle before wiggling the axe free and doing the same thing but striking from below, alternating with each swing until he was about a third of the way through the tree.

He then move around to the other side and began to thwac- Oh wait. We've hit the 500 WC required. Wrap it up boys the show is over.

He finished cutting down the tree before cutting it into sections, then making several trips back and forth to deliver the lumber to the necessary locations. He then made his way home after collecting his reward for the mission.
