Mission:

The morning of a new day slowly crept onto the lands of the village hidden in the leaves, a young male sitting on the roof of his home looking outward. He had awakened to the sun slowly kissing the horizon as it rose from its slumber to give the land warmth once more. He had only been up a few hours at best after having some decent sleep, his amber eyes set on the fading colors of the sun as it rose slowly into its place. Standing on the rooftop he would slowly begin to stretch and settle his hands into his jacket pockets, taking a small smile onto his features as he slipped down from it and grabbed the window seal leading to his room. From there it only took a small amount of sliding and jumping until he had hit the ground and after grabbing his bag from the nearby tree where he usually left it, he began his trek toward the mission center.

His trek toward the area wasn't too arduous since the path he usually took the same route, stopping to pick up a bag of fruit and some water on the way to eat. His usual breakfast usually consisted of more, but for someone being on the move fruit would do. After a few minutes he would slowly arrive in front of the mission area with over half of the bag eaten, perfectly fine for him as he pushed through the doors and began his perusing through the missions. He had been doing quite a few local missions so he thought upping the difficulty would be more helpful to him. Seeing a C ranked mission that simply detailed a guard duty, but for an outpost, Byakura took it as a sign to go out and explore. Of course he wouldn't know who his teammates would be until they had arrived, but once he accepted the mission he would begin to head out to the outpost.

He didn't go by foot because that would take too long, instead he was supplied with a small form of transportation that would come back and get the others when they were ready. It was rather convenient in all honesty. The ride was maybe twenty or so minutes before he had arrived to the outpost itself, looking around at its structure before asking some questions of the guards that were already there. The questions were quite simple. "How many entrances and exits. How many people are stationed here." The kind of questions that would prove to help him start his guard shift. Hopefully with the arrival of the others they could properly discuss and go on about a plan of attack for this specific mission.

Today’s mission would begin differently than the others she had done- in the way that she had already secured her mission orders the night before as opposed to being surprised in the morning. Today Fu was tasked with a C-Rank mission, a mission to guard one of the outpost stations that was in the forest that surrounded the great village she belonged to.

Fu pulled herself out of her bed before the sun rose. She knew that it was important that she was on time to relieve the other guards who spent all night there so they could get home. She was also eager to get the day over with so she could get paid. She was beginning to be trusted with increasing responsibility as a village shinobi and with more responsibility came more money. Being a weapon fanatic wasn’t easy because good weapons were expensive, and she definitely didn’t know how to make them on her own.

Dressed in pair of black shinobi pants and a black shirt with black shoes, she would drape a beige cloak over herself. The summer months were beginning to come to an end and because she was going to be outside in the forest all day, she figured she might as well be comfortable. Underneath her cloak was her shinobi weapon pouches that contained various ninja tools and her headband secured to her left arm.

Now that she was properly geared, she exited her shitty apartment and headed towards the forest. There was a transportation outpost that was In the forest that would transport guards to and from the various outposts that were positioned around the village. She showed the coach her credentials and boarded the cart trying to act as if she had done it before, she didn’t want to seem like a noobie. There were others in the cart with her, she could tell that they had been shinobi a lot longer than her.

After about a twenty-minute ride through the forest, she was the last on the cart and the first off. When she arrived, she would notice a familiar face, Byakura’s. She would study the blue haired boy’s features. He was rather tall, and his hair was unique, which made him stand out amongst the others. She wondered what type of shinobi he was. Fu was always interested in learning more about the wonders that were the shinobi world and her thirst was not close to being quenched yet.

The outpost was one of many- a large wooden structure that towered over the tree-line keeping watch on the village and surrounding forest. She wondered if she would need go up there or if her duties were here on the ground- either way she didn’t care. Leaning up against one of the wooden legs of the structure with her back, she would wait patiently for the other guard’s shifts to end so she could assume her responsibility.

It was yet another day within the hidden leaf village, sun nowhere to be seen within the sky due to how early it was, as the sound of crickets chirping echoed all across the buildings and the people that slept peacefully within their walls. One person, however, wasn't sleeping so well as Vergil was sitting on the edge of his bed lost in thought. After the events of a previous day he hasn't been getting the best of sleep as most often times he would wake up in a cold sweat and watery eyes. He figured, however, that the mission he had been assigned to take for the day would possibly help to ease his mind a bit as he slowly got from his seat and went into his bathroom to take a hot and much needed wake up shower.

Afterwards he got out and went over to his closet. Putting on his usual blue attire and grabbing his katana he kept at the foot of his bedroom doorsill he walked down to his kitchen where he prepared himself a quick breakfast which was basically a bacon and egg sandwich. Looking over to his clock he noticed that he had plenty of time to get to the place that he was set to work at for this mission as he finished his sandwich, exited his house through his main door, and made his way over to the village gates. His destination would be a bit of a ways out in the forest as he could see that there was apparently transport to help get him there. He believed, however, he could manage as he took off in a dash through the roads that lead him to his destination. Seeming like a blur to all civilian passerby he would make it to his destination in under ten minutes, utilizing the surrounding tree branches oftentimes to save himself a bit of time, as he didn't need any help with the outposts directions due to having come here once before when he was little.

Landing and stopping on top of a tree branch he looked up the wooden structure to see the other guards on duty waiting for their shift to end. He did get there a bit early as he looked up in the sky to see that the most smallest bit of light was appearing over the horizon. He dropped down the tree, his position just about 15 meters away from the outpost, as he leaned up against the trunk of the tree and pulled out a small book from within his back pocket. He would read it for the duration of his wait for his shift to start while trying to keep his distance from any of the other ninja that may have been there already as well or was about to arrive.

Guarding the Outpost Empty Re: Guarding the Outpost

He had heard from some of the other guards that more relief had shown up to help watch over the outpost, he merely assumed it was the others that had taken the mission along side him. Sitting from his current position he stared outward from the piece of building he had been sitting on surveying the vast lands that stretched beyond his comprehension of the village. There had been a lot outside of the village that he was unaware of. Unsure of. Many threats and possibilities of power and growth also lingered into his mind, but would he be strong enough to deal with them should the time come. At any moment the outpost could have been overran by missing ninja or enemy shinobi, yet none of that bothered him at the moment. To be scared of hypothetical situations were unbecoming of a shinobi, and even when they did rear their heads why be scared of it?

The young Hozuki spent some time thinking over this while he had underwent his guardsmen duties. Walking around the top of the outpost, checking in with the other guards and even going outside of it to patrol bits of the outer laying areas. The sun slowly began to fall down into the horizon for its place to be taken by the moon, though as the darkness took the sky and the moons pall-lit gaze filled over them he felt oddly at peace. The moon was one object of the world that make him happier, maybe because of the element he felt most at home with. Either way his time as a guard would soon come to an end. As he stood there for some time he heard the head guard make the call for those that came to help to depart, a small yawn leaving his lips as he hopped off the building and soon left to go home and go to sleep. If Byakura had caught a ride back with the other genin doing the mission he would of course sit beside them and chat until they had arrived back to the village, but if not his ride back would be silent and probably filled with a few naps in between until they had arrived back to the village.

It wouldn't be long since Vergil had started reading his book that his shift had began to start. His book contained many interesting tales that kept a brunt of his attention throughout his time by the outpost though, trained as they were, his senses were constantly keeping track of his environment as to make certain nothing out of the ordinary would happen. He could often hear the voices and the patrolling footsteps of his mission teammates as the passed around the outpost yet never any indications of hostile actions came upon them which, while good initially, provided Vergil more than enough reason to invest into his book throughout the hours he would be there. Before long the sun slowly fell and Vergil's shift reached it's end.

A rather boring one to say the least as Vergil closed his book and put it in a pocket inside his coat. Watching his teammates as they took their own routes off site he decided to exit the same way he entered as he hopped into the treetops and made his dash towards his home at full speed. Yet another mission in the books and a bit more money in his pockets. It wouldn't be too long before he would wake up ready to do another one.

Guarding the Outpost Empty Re: Guarding the Outpost

Eventually the other guards left and Fu along with several other new guards arrived to take their places. At first it was severely boring. In fact, it was boring the entirety of the time. Her first shift as an out-post guard proved to be as boring as she hoped it not to be. However, a life as a shinobi always seemed to be full of surprises so she figured she would not ponder too long on such trivial things.

She watched the North; another watched the East and so forth. During the down time she daydreamed on the type of blade she would purchase once she had gathered the funds. She went back and forth between something that was more common as a normal katana then she though about something much larger. She had heard tales over the years, as she bounced from orphanage to orphanage, of legendary swordsman that had once hailed from villages such as Kumo and Kiri- never one from Konoha. Fu knew that once she had made up her mind, she would hone her skills as a swordsman and solidify her place in history as Konoha’s first legendary swordsman- or was it swordswoman. In fact, she had never really heard of a famous swordsman. Regardless, she vowed to be the first. Now, where were we? Big or normal.. or maybe small? Either way it was going to be sharp and she was going to shred.

Time dragged on and the sun was beginning to set. After what felt like an eternity, her time was up and her shift was over. She gathered her belongings and made her way back to the cart that had originally transported her here- this time the driver was different. Fu hopped on in and made her way to the mission headquarters where she would collect her day’s pay and then she would head home.
