Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open) Empty Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open)

Mon Oct 21, 2019 8:16 am
From the shore, Kaito had made his way back into the village, having offered his reliable tanto to Okami. In a fevered dream he had of a fight against a faceless puppeteer, he had dreamed of the tanto, and save for the fact that he died in the dream, he knew it would be useful just as soon as Kaito became more powerful. ”I’m about as powerful as dry grass.” Nonetheless, he needed to see what was happening on the outside of the village. As he passed by the village ninja shop, he noticed it was still open, in spite of the rage outside. He went in and asked the owner why he stayed. Strength is the way of the Kumogakure, he said, and if someone out there is strong enough to lop my head off of my shoulders, they’ll be welcome to it. He added he would like to see them try, too. It inspired Kaito; he meant to go watch what was happening, but dying empty handed seemed ridiculous now, in retrospective. He handed the ryo to the keeper and took two blades, a meter long katana and a less than half meter wakizashi. He put the to his belt, adjusting the blades for easy draw and use.

Kaito got to the top of the walls, now observing the toxic bog every Cloud villager grew in. On the battlefield, you could already see corpses, and someone carrying away the mangled body of the boy kage. Kaito clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, saddened. The boy was just that, a boy, but he had effectively conquered his place at the top of the village hierarchy. ”Power comes in many shapes and forms. Sometimes that shape is a giant in dark armor, sometimes it’s an innocent looking boy.” The Raikage hat stood on the floor, at the feet of someone who seemed to be asking questions to the small crowd of people in front of him. ”I guess that’s who the hat belongs to now.” Something was not right though… it felt as though the new contender, among the corpses, was waiting for something more. And something more showed up.

From one of the corpses a massive surge of chakra came up; one didn’t need to be chakra sensitive to feel the air tightening and the pit of their stomach sinking; one might not be able to know what was happening, but the body’s natural instincts knew. Something Kaito never thought he would see slithered its way into existence and into the field of view. A tailed beast jinchuuriki had died on these fields, apparently, because a tailed beast morphed into view, and Kaito’s face paled immediately. ”I bought these swords to die fighting, but, would I even be able to approach that thing before it crushed me?” Kaito counted the tails. One, two, three… four… five, and six. The Six Tailed Beast. Kaito didn’t know which was worse. The tailed beast… or the fact this new contender was likely the responsible party for killing his kage and a jinchuuriki.

Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open) Empty Re: Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open)

Mon Oct 21, 2019 7:08 pm
Kira walked around the village,  half empty flask of whisky in her hand as she stumbled around from bar to bar. She was almost getting back to her old tolerance level. It had only been a week since she had been released from the hospital, and yet she still felt rather hopeless on where her life was going to go from here. She continued to search for a sign, something that would inspire her will to live once more. The kunoichi had recently begun her training regimen once more, but it was still rather light. She was still managing to get her body to move like it once had. Giving birth to a dead fetus will definitely do it’s toll. Her drinking habits also didn’t help.

The Uzumaki was getting ready to take another swig before she felt it. A surge of chakra coming from near the village gates. She hadn’t felt a presence with this much chakra since the day Suna was conquered. The presence she felt now rivaled that one and was perhaps even stronger. Kira took off to see what the commotion was about. Was this like Suna? was Kumo following the same fate and under siege? Her time in her new village had been limited, and she wasn’t sure if she even held the will to defend her new ‘home’, but there were still innocent villagers that resided amounts Kumo’s walls, and she would protect them if it came down to it.

Upon making it to her destination, the Chunin came upon another lad whose crimson locked almost matched hers. She quickly wondered if he too came from the Uzumaki clan. Kira came up by him, following the man’s gaze towards where the commotion was taking place. A grim, yet non-surprised look appeared on her face. A large slug with six tails was running rampant. Amongst the chaos were a few active bodies. The red haired kunoichi spotted the Raikage hat, and the boy it once belonged to. Max… She hadn’t known the boy well, only interacting with him once or twice. Too young and too close to home as she thought of her unborn children. She took another swig of her flask and before non-verbally offering the ninja next to her one.

Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open) Empty Re: Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open)

Tue Oct 22, 2019 10:32 am
The tension was high, you could practically cut it through the air of the night. The six tails gazed at what one could almost safely assume to be the murderer of its host, but its intentions were nebulous and indecipherable. Was it going to run away from the field of battle? Would it go on a rampage into the Kumogakure, or focus the brunt of its attack on the last man standing? Would the last man standing let it go if that was its wish, or would it face it to try and seal it within himself, and just wreak havoc with the ensuing fight?

Movement to his side made his head move towards the source, and he saw his younger twin sister walking towards him in the ramparts of the village walls. Kaito thought it rather weird, since he didn’t have a twin sister, or even a sister. However, her red hair was rather similar to his in color, except maybe a shade livelier. Uzukatis… or whatever is their name.” The name was Uzumaki but Kaito didn’t memorize the name, he only ever heard it a few times. She handed him a flask of something, and Kaito wasn’t about to deny it. He picked it up and brought it to his lips, drinking a generous gulp of the fiery liquid.

“If we have to die, it might as well be with a good taste in the mouth. Thanks”, he thanked her and handed her the flask back. He didn’t feel like dying next to a stranger, though. “Name’s Kaito.” As he breathed, he could feel the whiskey working its wonders through his system and his lungs, and maybe it would be what he would need to jump into the fray. Better to die with weapon in hand rather than standing still. ”If I’m even able to fight, or draw a weapon.”

Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open) Empty Re: Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open)

The man accepted the flask, grabbing it an taking a nice swig from it’s chamber. Little did he know it was filled with poison!!! Because alcohol is considered poison… to some.. no? okay. Kira listened to the shinobi’s remarks, her mind hung up on one particular word. ‘die’. In recent days, the Uzumaki has come to not fear death. If anything, the thought of it has become somewhat of a haven. Her once lover, and her two children were probably waiting for her at the gates of heaven, waiting to embrace her and start their life together in the afterlife. The thought brought her comfort, but she also could realize it wasn’t her time yet.

“ I can think of better tastes.” The girl said, licking her lips. It wasn’t foreign for the girl to embrace her seductive flirty side. Some would possibly even go as far as classify her as a succubus. Even through all the pain and death, she couldn’t help but tackle life with a flirtatious point of view. The Uzumaki begun to count the dead bodies that colored the field. One… Two.. Three. It seems like death was constantly all around her. Must be this year’s theme.

“Kira, a pleasure.” She said as she grabbed back onto her flask. She took one big whisk, letting the liquid burn the back of her throat as she swallowed. The taste of the fiery cinnamon long lasting on her tongue. She closed the container and stuff in into the underlying of her breast. “Unfortunate to be meeting under such dire circumstances.” She had a eery calmness to her as she watched the large slug, waiting to see what it would do; what the last standing man would do.

“Don’t do anything you’ll regret.”  She spoke as she leaned her body towards the ledge. She could almost feel the energy the boy was emitting. The urge to jump onto the battlefield to defend the village. Sure, the Uzumaki would come to fight, but only if it was needed. As of now, it seemed like it was a cold war, and jumping down at this moment could potentially only worsen the situation, or cause in more unneeded death. “For now, we should wait and only jump in if necessary.” The Chunin wouldn’t admit it, but she was also feeling a little antsy waiting to see what would happen. She watched with a careful eye, her fingers twitching to the idea that she may see her loved ones once again.

Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open) Empty Re: Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open)

Kaito nodded his head in agreement with the girl; he too could think of better tastes. His mind eloped away into his kitchen, and the former cook thought of a rich fillet mignon, craftily separated from the rest of the tenderloin as the speartip most prized meat cut, at room temperature and well dried, rubbed generously with rock salt and crushed peppers, then seared in a cast iron pan for a couple of minutes on each side, basted with rosemary and garlic flavoured butters, rested for ten minutes to keep the juices within and finish cooking, sliced against the grain of the meat and kept tender, served with roasted vegetables… now that's flavor.

The cook turned warrior was uncertain whether he would be able to taste anything of the sort again, or if he'd die with the flavor of whiskey in his mouth. "Not the worst of flavors either." Kaito heard the girl's name; both red heads, both had names starting on K… now all it needed was for her to be a disgraced restaurant owner and the coincidences would be creepy enough. "Personally I'd loved to have met at a bar or in a kitchen, but we don't always get to choose what happens, only how we deal with it." That being said, Kaito started feeling apprehensive of his calm. Was he ready for death and accepted it, welcomed it even, as an old family friend finally coming to pick him up from his sleepover in this passing world, or did he just not understand the gravity of the situation?

He looked at the giant slug. It did feel like a dream, but he could feel the mass of chakra. Kira advised not to do anything stupid, and Kaito nodded once again. "I can't promise anything. I'm brave, to be sure, but not very intelligent." What else would you call someone who put all his eggs in the same basket while dealing with loan sharks. The burnt remnants of his restaurant would've answered that with taunting silence.

Alas, the warrior at the center of Kumogakure's attention recognized the beast's presence, and walked towards it. A battlecry filled the air, not a challenge -- a demand, a contractual obligation signed by his life and to be written off by one of their deaths. A warrior's death, yes, Kaito thought, the sentiment resonating within him and reverberating throughout his being, the air around suddenly electrifying and washing over him in religious bliss. What good is it to grow old and frail, lying in a hospital bed surrounded by strange faces, why not die in the glory of battle, your body at its peak performing form, your name to be uttered in reverence for years -- nay, aeons to come! Kaito's breath picked up, his pulse accelerating, his pupils dialated and his mouth became dry; all his senses had been awakened and readied for battle, and now he crossed his arms, unable to join this fight between behemoths. Had there ever been written a sadder story than the warrior who couldn't?

"Well, looks like we're about to find out how dire the circumstances of our meeting truly can be."

Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open) Empty Re: Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open)

Wed Oct 23, 2019 11:55 pm
Ah a bar, that was a word that brought joy to the kunoichi’s ears. She sure did spent a lot of her days withering away with a cocktail in her hand, seducing fragile men who never knew that they had coming. A bar is actually where she had just made her way from. bar hopping was indeed one of her favorite hobbies. “We definitely don’t.” She responded to his comment. She wished she had some choice as to where she was in life. In the perfect world, she was with Salzem, with her two toddlers running around in their living room as she cooked the most delicious dinner like the good housewife she’d never thought she’d become. Safe amongst the walls of Sunagakure. Happy. Instead, all her loved one were dead. She began to remember why she never liked to get close to people. It only brought pain and heartbreak. Manipulation is what she should have stuck with all that time ago. Instead, she fell in love with a wolf. Nonetheless, still a better love story than Twilight.

“Well I suggest you listen to mama.” Kira suggested, but her wasn’t so confident in her words as she continued to observe what was going on. It seemed the lone male out on the battlefield wasn’t going to leave without a fight. He was seriously going to take that thing on. It was a pretty hard flex, and truth be told, a bit of a turn on. She began to worry for the boy whom she had just met. If he did for whatever reason succumb to the alcohol and jump into the fray, there wasn’t much the kunoichi could do to stop him. She still wasn’t in the best shape since waking up from her coma. However, the boy’s lack of chakra presence led her to assume that if she had to, she could potentially submit the boy for his own well being. She figured she’d keep a close eye on whatever it is he decided to do.

The two idle ninja continued to watch. The red haired beauty begun to wonder if anyone in this village was even attentive to what the hell was going on right outside their gates. She was waiting for a familiar face. Kyson, Kenshi, someone. Though, she could detect none of them. She began to watch a a mist began to expel from the large beast. It seemed to rot and destroy everything it touched. The site of what was occurring sent a shiver down the girl’s back. She couldn’t even comprehend how the man could stare that thing dead in the face for a fight. She wasn’t sure what was going to occur next, but it would sure be interesting no doubt. “I got 100 ryo on big strong man” She stated, reaching for her flask once more. The Chunin always liked a good underdog.

Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open) Empty Re: Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open)

“Go ahead, go after it!”

The voice rattled throughout the head of the orange haired teen, forcing his hands upon his face and caging his features to try and massage the thoughts from being focused upon. The whole village felt eerie. He couldn’t put his finger on what was happening. The only relation that he could compare it to was the constant change whenever he blacked out. Tightening his fist as he walked through the market of the village, Mokuzai turned his head towards the gates to see a rising fog in the distance. Massive chakra’s forced him to freeze in the spot where he had focused on the walls. His spine shivered from fear that coursed through his system. Nothing was making sense and his curiosity was starting to get the best of him. “Maybe it won’t hurt just to look..” He mused underneath his breath. Usually it would seem like he would be talking to himself, but the secondary persona that relied within his core answered back through mental statements.

“Yes! Yes! Go near, child. Let us see what is the cause.”

There wasn’t a large gathering of the villagers like he had thought. Evacuations must have commenced since the market was empty and no other beings could be spotted while he ran upon the rooftops of the village. Maybe they’re in their homes. The safety of others were the main concern of his thoughts to try and distract the others voice, but as soon as he got over the horizon of the walls, the large slug appeared within his view and he stopped immediately nearby the others that gathered.

He couldn’t fight it. There was no way he was even worth anything to begin with while the higher ranked Ninja struggled to go after the beast. Moku has heard stories of those beasts that he deemed as myths since he didn’t really gather the proof that was needed to believe in them, but there it stood in all it’s destructive glory. “We’re going to die.” He spoke with a plain fear struck tone. The two ninja’s nearby could have easily heard him, turning to look at the bodies that laid before him on the field. It was like a massive graveyard. The destructive power that the beast emitted caused goosebumps to run up and down his skin. However, his secondary persona started to twiddle in excitement.

“Imagine the power of those and us combined! We could take over whatever we need to.” The voice was practically yelling at him, forcing his hand to come over his left eye and rub it slightly. He turned his head over towards the two-fire headed persons and pointed towards the slug with slight tears running down his uncovered eye.  The genin was afraid, and he didn’t know what to do. Kira was the only one he had recognized after his initial fear become subtle after seeing the monster on the field.

Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open) Empty Re: Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open)

Sun Oct 27, 2019 6:42 am
The beast opened it’s gaping mouth and spewed a mass of gas that slowly sunk to the floor and amassed itself around the beast, encompassing the monster. “Wonder what that’ll do…” He understood nothing of the tailed beasts abilities and what made them different from one another apart from the number of tails. He hoped they were not all grotesque slugs. The redhead bet 100 Ryo on the man standing up against the beast. “You know, on another day I’d love a good bet, but considering it’s our lives on the line, I would also like to put money on the man. Besides, there’s no way I’d bet against someone whose balls are so big he needs a custom made pants to hold ‘em.” To be sure, standing up against a beast like that was no small feat by any measure. Kaito himself wasn’t sure he would’ve faced the beast so nonchalantly, he’d likely tucked tail and ran, or just accepted his death and drew blade for the ritual of dying with weapon in hand. His sense of calm came from the separation from reality: he wasn’t the one facing the beast.

A newcomer joined them; from the looks of it, he was more shocked than either of the two redheads had been able to become, likely due to the fact that the youth liked being alive, or wasn’t drunk. Maybe he still had stuff that he wanted to achieve in life. When the kid spoke, the fear in his voice was palpable, almost pitiable. Kaito shook his head lightly; the kid was young, maybe as young as the girl next to him. “Not everyone is an old fuck like me, I guess.” He swung his attention to the flask in Kira’s hand, and with the fineness of a master thief or the prowess of a space-time user, he took it off her hands and handed it over to the newcomer. “Here, drink up. Death comes easier if you don’t care about it.”

The youth covered his eye and asked what that thing was. “That, my friend, is what is called ‘a tailed beast’, one of nine that roam the world.” He eyed the youth briefly. “I know, I didn’t believe in them either”, he stated as a matter of fact, as if he knew the youth didn’t believe in them as well. “Name’s Kaito”, he repeated his name now to the newcomer. It was good to know the name of them as stood beside you in your hour of death, so they could hunt together in the other world.

Not waiting for a reply, he turned to the ninja on the outside of the village just in time, watching as a dark matter engulfed it and formed into a sleek armor, and then in a blur of motion, the ninja disappeared. Kaito looked around frantically. “Where’d he go?!”

The blonde Kyuketsuki bounced happily through the night as he thought about the latest thing he had done to Daisuke. He had been wellfed but was now bored after playing with the other for the last couple weeks so he decided to go exploring to see what else he could find. He needed other things to keep himself entertained.

And apparently tonight would be the night he would find it.

One of the bijuu was fighting a guy with what seemed to be red eyes and the black hair. A frown crossed his face as he let out a string of swearwords. Was this man a Uchiha? He disliked genjutsu. It was not real power. Most of their genjutsu was an illusion, something to get into their opponent's head and torture them.

He walked to the small group of people that seemed to be gathered there, watching the man fight with the beast. His own red eyes were wide and his body shook with anticipation at the promise of blood as the man seemingly vanished. As he walked up to the group, he moved his sights back to the fight. Here was a better look at what was going down.

"I'm Jiro!" he said, practically bouncing on the balls of his feet. "Who's that guy fighting it?" he asked. He wished he could be out there fighting as well. He shivered slightly at the thought, red eyes glinting as he laughed.

Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open) Empty Re: Night Of The Ironborn (Observation, Open)

“Our lives being on the line is what makes it fun.” She smirked, her gaze locked on the man who was staring the big ol slug in it’s gross slimy eyes. The more time that passed, the more turned on she became. “Definitely some big balls indeed.” She said, taking another swig from her flask. Just then, she heard a third voice, one that was familiar. She broke her gaze from the man out on the battlefield to the orange haired boy she had met prior at a small bar that’s become one of her favorites. She spent so much money there she might as well be a co-owner of the establishment. The boy looked terrified, tears leaving his green eyes. The smirk that was on her face faded to one of concern for Mokuzai.

The Uzumaki must have really been out of the game to have been caught off guard by the male. Her flask leaving her grasp. She was almost taken aback. “He doesn’t drink.” She responded for Moku, putting a caring grasp on the boy’s shoulder. Maybe it was the motherly instinct that she developed after becoming pregnant, but she was concerned for him.  The concern on his face made the situation feel a lot more real to the kunoichi. Maybe it’s due to the fact that she’s dealt with her fare share of scares that she was rather unfazed by the situation.

There came another that joined their little band of misfits. This time a blonde who sported hair almost longer than hers. His mood was a polar opposite of Moku’s. His apparent excitement was a little eerie. Kira liked it. She opted out of the introductions, reverting her gaze back to the main attraction. The man had taken off in flight, sporting some sort of armor. Looks like the fight was in full throttle.
