Sound of Silence (training/NK/IO)

Akarui started his day like he always did. He would tie the top of his hair up and shave the stumble from his chin and sided of his head. His training gear consists of the standard black cargo pants and a loose grey hoodie and after preparing he left the apartment for his 10km Jog around the village he took every day. This helped Akarui maintain his fitness required of a Shinobi.

However when he got to his favourite spot at the Hokage Rock, he noticed for the first time in a while that he wasn’t alone at this training spot. He knew others must have used it but he had yet to run into anyone while on his jog. This was a prime spot after all where one could look over the village and enjoy the scenery.

When Akarui came into the flat clearing on the rock he saw a girl staring over the village. She had blue hair tied up and was in casual clothes indicating she either wasnt on duty or a civilian but he doubted that. It was a serious trek up to here so most civilians didn’t bother with the climb.

“Excuse me, are you here to train? If you are, I can always find another spot if needed.” Akarui approached the girl with a polite smile. As he came second, he would concede the training ground if they wished. He had no problem sharing the spot either. Perhaps they could exchange techniques or even spare, it had been a while since he had trained with anyone else so he ran through all the possibilities.

He never likes being unprepared.

“Akarui Kōtei of the Shujin Clan, pleasure to meet you.” Akarui shook Akki's hand she extended. It had been a while since he had spoken to a fellow Shinobi since he returned to duty. She seemed to be quite shy as she stuttered and friendly. When he learnt her name he couldn’t help but make a comment in regards to it.

“Akki Senju? As in the Senju Clan? I’ve read all about your clan in the my clans personal library history books. Your Mokuton is legendary! And you’re training it you say? Impressive. I’ve heard even for the clan requirements are tough.” Stepping back he raised he arms behind his head and started to do his own light stretches with a curious expression and did take her up on the offer. “I usually train alone, I don’t have a team anymore. Things got, complicated. Neither the less, I’d be happy to have a training buddy as well. I definitely know it’s easier to train with someone else to push you a little further than usual.”

“I’ve been learning my own second chakra affinity myself. My parents seem to have lightning yet I had water. So I was planning on training that today. Sorry, I’ve been rambling.” Akarui nervously laughed. He hasn’t trained with anyone else since his old genin squad mates and he, sensei included went their separate ways.

Akarui finished his light stretches while Akki spoke to him. Unsurprisingly she knew of his clan and it’s special techniques. She was a Senju Clan member after all, they had a far deeper history and foundations than his own clan did so they would definitely have better knowledge and Intel gathering.

“While I am a member of the Shujin clan, I’m not a core disciple. I’ve yet to prove myself to the clan and thus am only a disciple in name. I don’t have access to any clan Jutsu or Taijutsu either. Sorry to disappoint.” Akarui laughed good humouredly as she focused her chakra clearly attempting to use Mokuton. She had struck a sore point Akarui knew he had to fix soon. He needed to visit the clan before his exile was up to claim those techniques. He was the clan heads son after all. Bastard or no.

“Though I can still hold my own without them. Are you interested in a spar? Pressure can be useful to make breakthroughs I’ve found.” He was quite rusty but if Akki were up to it, he would oblige. He liked a good challenge and felt this Girl to be one. Of course, he felt she wasn’t in peak condition but she had experience to back it up while he hadn’t even had a real life or death experience yet.

Akarui sighed in amazement at the blue haired Senju girl as she produced small tree trucks and sticks from the earth. He was fascinated by how earth and water chakra elements were used to create this advanced element. It was actually his first contact with an advanced element he had only read about in his youth.

When she mastered that element, Akarui could only imagine how it would boost her combat power when she did. He was starting to develop a yearning for techniques. Anything that he thought could vaguely come in handy he wanted to practice. Never knew when he would need something in his arsenal.

After being lost in thought Akarui shook his head to regain focus. Luckily she hadn’t quite done but he started to prepare anyway. He checked his pouch on his leg on instinct only to find and remember it wasnt with him. He had left them at home figuring he wouldn’t need them. He didn’t need them however as this was a friendly spare.

Akarui moved to 10 meters away from the Senju Girl and got into a battle stance. Right foot forward and left hand in a fist by his side while the right hand came up in a seal of confrontation between him and Akki.

“Ready whenever you are. You can make the first move. After all, Ladies first.” Akarui called out. He was ready to spar!

Akarui watched and waited while Akki moved back a few more steps. A few thoughts flashed on her face before she made a determined expression. She knelt performing a handseal before touching the ground. ‘Here we go! She put her hand on the ground so an Mokuton Jutsu?’ He didn’t have much time to analyse it properly before earthen pillars shot up from beneath the ground between them. 3 pillars shot up before Akarui while the 4th came up beneath him. ‘No! Earth! Not Wood! Besides, good thing I didn’t rush at her, I’d have a face full of dirt!’

Dodging the earthen pillar by jumping back narrowly missing getting his chin hit, noting the flat top while dodging, Clearly intended not to be lethal by the missing spike. Initially his heart stopped when he heard the ground beneath him shift, subconsciously knowing what could possibly be happening. Seeing the flat top dismissed the momentary panic that flashed while dodging. Although Akarui knew Akki wasn’t trying to harm him with lethal intent, the proof set his mind at ease. After all, an eye for an eye was his philosophy, the way one acted to him, he would return in kind if possible. If not, he would wait. 10 years is never too long for a gentleman his Uncle always said. Akarui could agree mostly.

Mind back on the fight, He knew he needed to close the distance between them if he stood a chance of keeping up with her. He didn’t know many ranged skills to rely on. Sparring with someone really helped point out ones flaws for them to know where to improve. And this spar did just that for Akarui. Dealing with Ninjutsu users can prove to pose a problem in the future if he didnt find a way close the distance in time to unleash his Taijutsu techniques effectively. He jumped again onto the tip of the earthen pillar closest to him.

“Smart move! Show me what else you’ve get!” Akarui sincerely called out with a grin as he surged Chakra into his feet and he leaped towards Akki at a speed of 35 to stop within a meter! If unimpeded, Akarui would follow through with a hand spread in a claw motion to grab at Akki’s face with a speed of 30, not intending to hit but to throw her off balance to fall from the pillar so they could square off on level ground. Or that was his plan. ‘Move!’ He yelled in his head as he lunged towards her.
