Mar’s standing in the community of the fang village had been… Mixed, since he donned his experimental suit of armor. A few folks got the feeling that something was slightly off when they saw him. The way that he moved was oddly too natural. As if he were just a robot instead of a man in a tin can. He didn't like that his hair had been shaved, but he figured it’d probably be a lot easier than cutting it through the thin opening it could be accessed with now. Still, he felt it was important to still support his community. And a rare few saw him as more of a knight in shining armor than a mechanical man.

He’d gotten together a list of odd jobs to consider with Eli today. Starting with guarding a mans ice cream stall. Mr. Yumi been harassed by ruffians wanting free product for the last few nights. Now it was just the three of them bumming around sunset. A group of shady looking young men assembled a ways down the road eyeing the cart. Though there were around seven punks in total. All of them seemed pretty eager to stand clear of the team of ice cream men. Possibly due to the fact that Mar was carrying the whole cart with ease in one hand.

They placed it down infront of the stand up comedy theatre which was letting out for it’s final show right about now. Just as the final members of the crowd were getting their orders. One of the boys from the earlier gang appeared with a smile ear to ear and a grubby look in his eyes. “Hey me and my friends want a gallon of that good stuff, you’re already done selling for the day aren’t you old man? Don’t think your grand daughters here scare us.” “Hey, watch this.” Mar suggested, slightly eager to show off his new found physical prowess.

The boy got ready to throw a weak wristed punch as the armored man walked up. *CLANG* “O-Oooow! Owwwww!” The boy held his wrist which was bent in a funny direction. He might as well have just thrown a full force slug right at a brick wall. Immediately three of his friends came to drag him away. “Wow I was gonna knock him around, but he went and did all the work himself. Thanks again for the work mister. Eli, let’s escort our pall home and deal with a couple more jobs.”

“Now we have to find this stolen loaf of bread… Sounds stupid I know but it’s from this really beloved bakery that goes sold out on their products every day around here. Sombody swiped it and the rightful owner has no idea of where the thing is. Actually, I have an idea.” Mar bit his lip, a necessary evil since he could no longer bite his thumb without chewing through several inches of high grade metal. Before using the bloow to summon Nectar. “Happy thanksgiving palls!” The bird hummed. “I was just paying my grandparents a visit, once Neptune- Name of my uncle. Shows up we’re gunna break the log!” The look of apparent confusion on the ninja’s face inspired him to give more details.

“Every thanksgiving the Butterwing family shatters a log full of insects and feasts on them as they crawl out. It’s like, the purest thing ever! So if I pop away in a hurry. That’s why. Mom will summon me before letting me go hungry in november.” “So would I big man, ok. We need you to fly up high and use your special eyes to spot a loaf of bread somones hidden. It’d really help if we could narrow down weather it’s inside or outside.”

The pint sized hero nodded, taking flight up and up and up. Disappearing for several minutes. As soon as his perfect vision came into range of their objective. He died back down and returned. “It’s on the top of a purple water tower two blocks that way. Ahhh! They’re breaking it without me, see you soon!” The Valk disappeared in a puff of smoke. A brief walk revealed that there was indeed a rickety purple tower matching that description. It had seen better days with rot infesting the wood of the lower planks.

“Huh, well Eli. I don’t think I can make it up thee without bringing the whole thing down next to my newfound weight. I can give you a boost if you need it.” He offers.

Acts of kindness from a monk and a metal giant Empty Re: Acts of kindness from a monk and a metal giant

Eliwood cared very little for how the people in town cared for him. He was never one to let people's criticisms bother him. He liked to just go with the flow and live his life however he pleased. Doing odd jobs with Mar wasn't the most exciting way to spend his day, but at least there was money to be made. He would always be around for that.

It was taking some getting used to seeing Mar all metal suited up. The ecstatic tinkerer had certainly changed from the first time they had met. Back then Eliwood had admittedly been charmed by Mar's looks almost as much as his musical talents. Now it was hard to tell if he was still that handsome man underneath all the metal, but the monk could tell that at least the personality was kept in tact. Mar was still just as generous to the folks around him as always.

Their first stop for the day was guarding an ice cream stall from some local punks. Not a glamorous or challenging job, but a nice change of pace compared to the duo's last job together. At least this time nobody would die....he hoped.

They walked with the man towards a good spot for him to set up shop, the job being made a whole lot easier due to Mar carrying the cart one handed. He had really grown strong in a short period of time. Eliwood looked at himself and wondered if he was also getting stronger. Doing jobs for Maku and Aki was an experience like none he had ever had before. Thanks to Seiichi the monk had never felt so close to the Eternal Flame and his spirits were lifted because of it. Without Mar he would still be strumming that beat up old guitar he used to carry. Now he had a beautiful instrument that produced sounds that shook the bard to his very core. He was thankful for the friends around him helping him to get where he was now.

The group set down the shop outside of a comedy club. Eliwood loved to frequent places like this one. Hearing funny stories and being in a room filled with laughter was one of his favorite pastimes. 'A great place to set up shop. Ice cream would pair nicely with comedy' he thought. "You should try your hand at stand up Mar. I think you woul-" his musing was cut short by some thuggish looking young man. "I guess you really did need guards then huh?" He laughed to the man who hired them. Mar's suit alone was enough to practically break the kid's wrist. After such a display nobody tried to mess with the ice cream cart for the rest of the shift. The pair escorted the man back home safely and helped him put up his cart. Eliwood liked to go the extra mile when helping others. Good deeds beget good karma.

They were not done for the day however, there was still more work to be done. "A loaf of bread worth hiring someone to locate. Hmm...must be some seriously good bread." He laughed.

Mar summoned Nectar to help locate the lost naked good, but the little bird seemed to be in a rush. Eliwood forgot sometimes that the summons on the other side of the contract had normal day to day lives. Still Mar and Nectar were partners and the little bird quickly located their mark before poofing away to head back to it's dinner. The bread was high up in a watchtower. The whole thing looked ready to collapse. He wondered if it was a safety hazard to even still have the tower in town.

"I agree I doubt it could support you now. A boost would do lovely. Throw me as far as you can, and I shall boost myself further if necessary." It was the only way they could get the stolen goods back. Eliwood was light and probably wouldn't bring the whole thing down. He figured Mar could throw him that high without him needing to use an extra jump, but he formed the hand signs just in case while hopping up for the metal man to catch him and subsequently shot put upwards.

Once launched he realized he was correct in his assumptions and Mar was able to launch to monk high enough to be level with the tower floor he needed to get to. Reaching out and grabbing onto the tower would probably cause problems so he decided to use his jump Technique to propel himself forward and land on the floor where the bread was spotted. The tower shifted a little when he landed but luckily it did not topple over. He looked up to see a man, just sitting down at a small table with a drink in one hand and a plate in front of him. On the plate sat what Eliwood was looking for, the bread. The man had obviously noticed a green haired monk fly into his safe spot. He sat there with his mouth hanging open while Eliwood simply walked over and grabbed the bread from off the plate and leapt down from off the tower.

"Catch me Mar! I got the bread!" He yelled out while plummeting down to the ground back first.

Mar's catch was impeccable. Focusing on his target without distraction and predicting the rate at which he fell while performing his own hand signs. He took to the air just in time to being falling himself, his own wind step slowing their decent gradually until they landed with a clink so soft that nary a crumb was lost for the bread. "Nice job~! Oh, I know. I need to add expressive eyes to this thing. I think that'll go a long way for being personable. Now, let's go be thankful shall we?" He suggested, setting his true friend downwards and walking into the evening darkness.

"Impeccable catch my friend!" Eliwood would say as the pair softly touched down to the ground. "And he sticks the landing as well." They had saved the bread and with it, another job was completed. The day was filled with little odd jobs but at the end of it all, it felt just as fulfilling as one big mission.

"I could go for a drink right now." He'd say as they walk away, finished for the day.
