Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK) Empty Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK)

Thu Mar 12, 2020 10:00 am
He struggled the night before, trying to stay asleep. The Chuunin Exams were coming up and he knew that he was nowhere close to being ready to compete. Not with all the other Genin that were also going to be putting their hat in the ring to try and win the rank of Chuunin of the Village Kumogakure no Sato. This didn't keep Ikari from pushing and giving it his all, he had been scouting the rest of the participants of the exams for a couple weeks, and he wasn't sure if he was that far behind the others, or right on their tails. What he did know for sure, was that he was going to give hell to whoever had to face off with him in the arena, no matter who they were.

There were members of all kinds and specialties, all different elements and fighting styles. He was going to need to be well rounded in all areas of himself if he was going to stand a chance against those that had started training far before he did. There was a lot of things that he had yet to learn, but the one thing in particular, was his own clans Kekkei Genkai. The wood release is a chakra release legend, one of the most powerful nature transformations for chakra to be able to use, making the Senju one of the strongest clans in the ninja world, but he was unable to use it. He only knew that his primary affinity was water and he only knew one technique with his water chakra, and that was only the needles of death technique. He couldn't create that many needles, but he was sure that it would be enough to finish an opponent without necessarily killing a comrade of the village. He knew that the Genin who had taken the Jounin's rank was done by using that very technique to attack the opponent that was behind his current position at the time, a brilliant move in Ikari's mind and he wanted nothing more than to be able to think as quickly as Zento did that day.

He was already out of bed and walking around the village, waiting for the sun to come up so he would be able to get into the training grounds and actually be able to see what he was doing and where he was going within the non lit training grounds. He walked through the shop district and he wondered where the twins had gone, the shinobi that he had been fighting against in the training grounds. It seemed to him like he just kind of vanished without even a word. Did he get fed up? Was he sick? Did he run out of the village and join some Missing Ninja cult out there in the wilderness? Who knew? He didn't that was sure. He hoped that wherever he was, that he was happy and not in any danger. While he didn't truly get to know him at all, he was still a comrade and that is something of importance.

The sun was finally beginning to come up and Ikari set his course for the training grounds, he thought of the drunk that he had met the same time he met up with Viperis in the training grounds. He didn't think he was going to like him at first, but when he began talking to the two of them, being Ikari and Viperis, he turned out to be a very wise and interesting person, someone filled with words of wisdom and whatnot. He thought he was going to be like the rest of the drunks that he had known throughout his life, but he wasn't. He spoke better then they did, and he just seemed to be more high functioning than any of the rest that he had met. "Maybe one day he and I will be able to train together." Ikari said to himself quietly as he remembered that conversation that they had.

Ichigo seemed very interested in helping his comrades accomplish what they wished to accomplish with their lives which was something that he was not used to. He had met both Max and Ichigo who seemed to help for no good reason, just because. It was a delightful change of pace from the selfish bastards that he was used to in the orphanage, but it was a change of pace that he had a hard time believing in. Maybe it was his trust issues that were forged in the flames of the orphanages? Again, who knew? It was another one of those questions that would forever stay in Ikari's mind and possibly never get answered.

He arrived in the training grounds and he looked around to see who he could see, he  hoped that he would be able to find someone that knew how to use the Earth Affinity for chakra and teach it to him. If he could master the Earth element, he would be able to use his clan's pride and joy, the wood release. Without it, he would most likely be just another ninja, but with it, he would be able to conquer the world in the Raikage's name. He had still yet to even meet the kage, but his goal remained the same. He wanted nothing more than to become the enforcer for the kage and be at his side whether in battle, or during peace talks. If there was a problem person that the Kage wanted taken care of, Ikari hoped that it would be him that would the one chosen to handle the issue for the kage. He wanted to be of use to the kage, someone that he would recognize, and he would keep believing that he could do it until he was dead, no exceptions.

He continued to stand in the training grounds, awaiting for an Earth-user's return so he would be able to ask them if they could teach Ikari the ways of the Earth, then he would be able to work on mixing them together to create the wood release that he was so excited for.

Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK) Empty Re: Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK)

A lot of interesting things had happened to the Drunk lately. He had run into a couple of fascinating people, some he might never have met if he didn't decide to change his own view of the world. Normally he preferred to remain on the background where no one would notice him, even though it was hard not to be noticed due to his distinguished looks. Ichigo couldn't help the fact that he resembled a delinquent in more ways than one. Three scars straight over his right eye that lead down his cheek, the number "69" tattooed on his left cheek as well as a blue-striped tattoo running across his left cheek and over the bridge of his nose gave people the impression he was up to no good.

One of the people he remembered running into was Ikari, a young Senju he had met while he was sleeping off his hangover. The teenage boy had left quite the impression on Ichigo. Born into a clan famous for their Wood release it was possible that the boy felt some pressure to achieve great things. The Senju inherited powerful life force and chakra, and while they didn't specialise in one area, they instead mastered ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu to give them a wide variety of skills to combat their enemies. Due to this they acquired their name, "Senju", in reference to their being "the clan with a thousand skills".

Another thing Ichigo remembered about the boy was that he was looking for a way to learn the Earth element so he could get access to his clan's Wood release through combining water with earth. Back then the Drunk suggested to be the one who would show the teenage boy how to learn the element. He figured that if Ikari didn't forget about the promise he would be at the Training Grounds waiting for Ichigo to arrive. So that's where the Drunk was heading to, wearing a black sleeveless robe with his Kumogakure headband tied to his left arm. He was also wearing a choker around his throat and matching armbands on both upper arms.

Once he arrived at his destination he would see Ikari was already present, eagerly waiting for the training to begin. "Do you remember what I asked you last time?" he would refer to when he suggested teaching him Earth release. His question would make the young Senju aware of the older shinobi's presence. But Ichigo wouldn't be his usual self if he didn't ask some questions first. "Now tell me, what would it mean to you if you were able to learn Wood Release?" Knowing all too well that the teenager had a lot of pride he still wanted to know the kind of effect it would have.

Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK) Empty Re: Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK)

Thu Mar 12, 2020 11:45 pm
Ikari continued to stand and wait, hoping he’d see someone. Hoping he’d find someone who knew exactly what he was looking for. He wanted to find himself a teacher that would be able to push Ikari forward in his training and get him closer to learning the sacred Wood Release that his clan was famed for. He remembered Ichigo once again, how he told Ikari that he was going to teach him Earth release to help him get to his ultimate destination being his wood release.

While he was told by Ichigo that he would teach him Earth release for it was in fact his primary affinity, but he had been lied to enough to know that you can’t truly trust a drunk’s word. More often than not, they will lie to you just to get whatever it was that they wanted. But he was there, in the training grounds, waiting for him, even if he didn’t want to admit it. He was truly waiting for a drunk guy that had one conversation with him, waiting for him to show up. Something he grew far to tired of when he lived in the orphanage. For the first few years after he turned five or six he would ask where his father was and whether or not his family was going to pick him up from the daycare and finally take him home. He waited for years for them, but through the beatings and through the neglect and abuse. He finally gave up waiting, he gave up hoping they would come and rescue him. He knew that he was only able to trust in himself and no one else.

Yet here he was. Waiting for someone with the hopes that they would actually come through for him and provide him with aid. He was sure he wasn’t going to show up, he just had to wait for it to pass, he didn’t know why he felt like he could trust this guy. Why would someone that he first met passed out surrounded by glass bottles next to a tree in the middle of the training grounds? Ikari felt stupid, felt like that sans stupid child who foolishly waited for his parents to come back and save him from the daily beating. Hoping to see that door open, even visualizing his parents coming to the rescue in the middle of the beatings. Having his father catch the man’s fist as it would come down on his skull. But that boy was wrong to feel that hope, Ikari knew better now. After waiting for what felt like hours, even though it was only fifteen minutes, he threw his hands up and he began walking to the quarry. Very little point in waiting on those who can’t be trusted.

As he was walking over to the quarry, still disappointed in himself for actually believing that this man was going to be any different than all the other drunks, he saw a very familiar face walking up towards him. “Ichigo!” Ikari threw his head back for a moment. “What the hell was that?!” Ikari would yell to himself within his mind. Ikari didn’t get excited by just seeing people. What the hell is going on with him? No clue. He met Ichigo in the center of the arena and he waited for Ichigo to ask his question that Ikari already knew was coming. The question came to Ikari just as he was already expecting, “I remember a lot of the things that you had asked the last time we spoke.” Ikari would say, but in response Ichigo had already began speaking again. Ichigo asked what it would mean for Ikari to learn the sacred wood release. To Ikari, this answer was an easy one to deliver. “To learn Wood release would allow me to join the ranks of my clan who have also learned how to use this chakra nature, and it would grant me one thing that this village doesn’t have yet to my knowledge. It would push me much farther along towards my goal of becoming the Kage’s enforcer.

Hoping he had answered Ichigo’s question sufficiently, he was equal parts excited and concerned about how this training was going to go. He wanted to make sure to nail his first time, so that he may impress Ichigo and have him want to continue to train him.

Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK) Empty Re: Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK)

Fri Mar 13, 2020 11:43 pm
As expected of young Ikari. The teenage boy would come up with an answer befitting of his proud and honorable personality. Of course, part of him wanted to learn Wood release to grow stronger, but he didn't just want it for himself. No, he wanted to use it to get closer to his goal of becoming someone even the Kage would count on. Sure, most shinobi train because they search for power. But what's more important than attaining said power would be how you would use it. Would it be used just to inflict pain, or would it be used for a greater good? Something like the village for example.

As village shinobi they were to serve those at the top of the food chain, in their example the Raikage. Personal gain would have to be set aside if they truly wanted to become someone even the leader of the village could trust. But that would be enough about politics he figured. After all, the reason Ichigo got out of his house was to teach Ikari the earth element. The Drunk would take a deep breath as he started to wonder how he would handle his training. He wasn't exactly the prime example of a teacher. Well, at least he wasn't drunk this time.

He took a moment as he started to think about what it was that made someone a good teacher. Good was relative and open for discussion, but he wanted to make sure the young Senju was able to learn both Earth and Wood release. If he didn't, it would mean Ichigo had failed as a teacher. The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. He didn't know about the inspiring part, but he would at least try the explaining and demonstrating. "Well, let's get this thing started shall we?" The Drunk was done preparing himself and was ready to begin the lesson.

"As you know, one of, if not the most important thing is chakra control. Letting it flow through your body. Almost being able to envision your own chakra inside your body. If you're not letting it flow enough, nothing will happen. If you overdo it you will lose control. So you have to find that balance. Same goes for learning elemental jutsu. Concentrate, focus. It's the same for every single element. With water you want to be able to become one with the water as you feel it flowing around your hand. The same can be said about the earth. Put your hand on the ground, control your chakra and let it flow through your hand until you are able to feel the ground moving beneath you."

Ichigo would then demonstrate what he meant. He would take a deep breath, close his eyes and place his hand on the ground, with his palm touching the surface. He would let his chakra flow around his body as he directed it towards the palm of his hand. What happened wasn't anything major, but if Ikari paid attention he would see how the Drunk was able to make the surface become unstable through using his earth element. "It sounds and looks easier than it is, let's give it a shot." The tall man would give his student some space as he was about to give it a go.

Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK) Empty Re: Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK)

Sat Mar 14, 2020 11:50 am
Ikari would listen closely to every word Ichigo would say, wanting to grasp onto every single word. He knew that this was going to be the final piece of his puzzle, the very last thing that he was going to need to learn so that he may be able to get one large step closer to his goal. Earth release was the first step, Wood release was going to be his next step. He was going to keep pushing from this for it will be his springboard that was going to launch him on a faster path to reaching his life goal, and he was going to milk it for everything that it had.

Ichigo first started talking about chakra control, which was something that he had become very familiar with thanks to that young chuunin Max. He couldn’t believe that someone that was even younger than Ikari was and he was honestly still having an issue to come to grips with that fact. He wanted to be the best shinobi in the village, second to only the Kage, and if he was going to do that, he had a lot of ground to cover and a whole lot of skill to hone, so he figured that he was going to have to push himself even harder, even though he thought that was impossible. But he did know that the impossible was sometimes required of ninjas and that was what he was willing to give.

The challenge was still palpable to him though, the thought of learning an entire element was certainly a tall order. It was going to be a life changing piece of his training, something that was going to allow him another avenue in his fighting. Giving him something that none of the other participants of the Chuunin Exams had, the sacred Wood release. He could just imagine the wood clones that he was going to have fighting alongside him. The abilities that he was going to be granted when he finally obtained the wood release. Was he going to learn all the techniques that he could, or was he going to try and put his creativity to work and actually try to create the techniques so he could have the techniques that no one else would have? Both sounded like some pretty solid ideas, but he wasn’t sure which he was going to go with.

Ikari listened to Ichigo as he began speaking on chakra control and how important it was to maintain a certain balance when considering the two extremes and what the consequences both extremes would have on the success of performing any techniques with one’s chakra, but in their specific situation, Ikari would be focusing on the control of his chakra so he would be able to maintain the connection between him and the Earth, the conduit for most Earth Techniques.

He remembered the academy and the paper that they would use to test each and every shinobi to test and see just what the result would be. The results of that test would tell you not only what element was your primary affinity in regards to his chakra elemental transformation. He would visualize his chakra, just like Max and now Ichigo would instruct him to do. He had been getting good at his visualization and he could feel his chakra swirl through the ground beneath him.

The Earth beneath him would accept his chakra, Ikari feeling his chakra swirling beneath him within the grass and the dirt. He visualized his chakra going from his body and flowing through the Earth beneath him, causing the dirt to shift and move under him. He could feel every rock within the ground that he could not see with his eyes. He reached into his back pocket, looking for the chakra paper that he would be able to test himself to see if he had actually been successful in learning the new element. He had grabbed a piece of paper out and he held it between his two outstretched hands. He focused his chakra from the ground beneath him and he focused it into the paper between his hands, channeling his chakra directly into the paper. He was hoping that the paper would ultimately change its own properties to match that of his newly learned chakra nature, if he had actually learned it on his first go.

He would continue to focus his chakra into the paper, constantly visualizing the new chakra nature to turn the paper into dirt itself and crumble away. His hands would almost vibrate as he was focusing so much of his own chakra into his hands pressing down onto the chakra paper. As he would try to do his best to focus on the paper, his mind would try to wander off into other places. It would wander to other places, it would wander to the orphanage, it would wander to the old man who ran the place. The man was evil, as evil as people could be, as he would beat Ikari at all hours of the day, even in the middle of the night, he would drag Ikari out of bed and beat him to near senseless levels. While he would beat him, he would constantly tell Ikari that he was no good, worth absolutely nothing, and would amount to nothing but the janitor of the very orphanage that he lived in.

He hated that man, wanted to see that man dead, wanted to be the one that killed him himself, but he knew that he was no match for him yet. That was why he joined the ninja academy. He wanted to get away from the orphanage of course, but he especially wanted to get away from that abusive piece of shit. But he also had another motive, the motive that he was going to hold on to until the deed was done. He wanted to get stronger not because he just wanted to be the right hand man of the Kage. But because he wanted to kill that piece of shit in the worst matter possible. He wanted to string him up with his wood jutsu. And crucify him in the middle of the valley away from the village with a tree that he would make himself.

All the memories of the man beating and nearly killing Ikari would play through his mind, causing him to pour too much chakra into his hands. He was beginning to lose control of his own mind and of his chakra, his anger would course through his body and his mind, causing his chakra to flow out of his body once again. The chakra would have a crimson hue to it, same as his hair and eyes. It skipped over the swirling phase of its manifestation, going straight to it exploding out of his body. His face would not show that of a panicked mess or even an angry man, just a man who was sure about his goals, he wanted that man dead more than anything else, and he was going to work as hard he could every single day to make that goal his reality, no matter what. He looked focused, determined, and most of all, calm. He no longer was losing control of his chakra, or his memories. His chakra reduced back down to swirling around his body in a calm manner.

Ikari thought for a moment about his secondary goal, the killing of the old man from the orphanage, then he finally put it away. He opened his hands, wanting to see what he had done to the chakra paper from between his hands. His right hand lifted off of his right hand, revealing the paper, or at least where the paper used to be. The paper had transformed into a clump of dirt. Ikari’s facial expression went from being determined, to cheerful with the realization that he had been able to learn the elemental transformation of Earth in such a short time. He dropped the clump of dirt and let out a cheer. “Yes!” Ikari leaped into the air from his sitting position, landing on his feet.

He was excited with the newfound victory over his own chakra network, but he wanted to get one step farther. He dropped down to one knee and slammed his palm onto the ground. He channeled the chakra that was now coursing through his body and forced it into the ground beneath him. This time he didn’t simply feel the rocks that were beneath his feet, this time he could feel his chakra shoving the rocks and dirt in different directions. The Earth beneath his feet was beginning to shift and move from the chakra that was being channeled into it.

He was certainly a Senju, his clan had always been famed for their Wood release, having a natural connection to the Earth that most others could only dream of attaining. Now, he was soon going to have that for himself. He was going to become the strongest Senju around no exceptions. He visualized the water mixing with the Earth. Wanting to form his wood release, his beloved wood release. The elemental chakra transformation that he had been pushing for for so long. He pressed his hands against the dirt. Doing what he could to channel both his water and Earth release together, visualizing a small tree to come out of the ground. He would continue this while reminding himself his goals. To kill the bastard from the orphanage and to become the Kage’s enforcer. He would imagine all the damage he would be able to do with his wood release. He could destroy entire towns from underground, creating trees and roots the size of villages themselves to smash any that would oppose the will of the Kage, or of Kumo herself.

The thoughts of the people’s screams fueled him, he knew that these were no good people, any people who opposed the Kage were nothing but scum, less than scum. He wanted them all dead and he was going to be the one to take them off of this planet, they didn’t deserve to breathe the same air as the citizens of Kumogakure no Sato did. They deserved only pain and suffering for not bowing to the boot of Kutari. The mighty Kutari and his magnificent village of Kumo. Anyone who disagrees with that statement would bring upon themselves the same fate. Now all he needed to do was to get stronger. To continue to grow his power until he would be unstoppable by anyone, one that could kill a man without batting his eye, or breaking a sweat. That’s what he wanted to be, and by no means was failure an option for him. Not now and not ever.

Without even noticing it, being so entranced with his thoughts of the future. A small shrug had come out of the ground. Excited to see his improvements, he continued to channel more of his chakra into the ground. The small shrub would turn into a baby tree, being taller than both Ichigo and himself. The state of excitement that he was in from thinking of his future once he became powerful enough to tear apart towns and villages was pushing him farther and farther. His chakra would be almost opaque at this point, completely covering his body with the fiery red chakra as it swirled around him in a frantic fashion. He would channel even more into the ground, causing the baby tree to thicken up and grow to be the tallest tree in the forest, being almost 20 meters high and 5 meters thick.

Ikari was in a hysteric point of euphoria and anger at the same time. His chakra would finally cut out as his body was exhausted. He fell down to his elbow, laughing like a maniac for a second before finally getting dizzy and falling down to his face. He was still conscious, just hardly able to move. He turned his head to face Ichigo and began to speak through his panting. “I did it. Thanks to you.”

Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK) Empty Re: Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK)

Sat Mar 14, 2020 1:00 pm
Ichigo would reach for a small bottle of sake in his pocket as he decided to watch over young Ikari and his training. The Drunk tried to keep it basic and easy to understand. He started out with the theory and demonstrated how it should be used. It was now up to the teenage boy to apply it into practice. Of course it was more than just putting your hands on the ground hoping the surface would begin to move. If it was as simple as that people wouldn't need the Academy anymore. He remembered the time when he found out he had an affinity for the earth element. To be honest he didn't really care which one he would end up with, as long as he would be able to put it to good use.

But when he started to think about it, he would notice it was a pretty good fit for him. Just like him, earth was strong, tough, easy to use in all kinds of situations. Almost everywhere someone would go they'd be surrounded by earth, making it simple to manipulate their surroundings. In his opinion it was one of the strongest elements around. All kinds of ways to use it in battle as well, in case the situation required you to fight. And strong against water, one of the other more powerful elements. Although he was capable of using it, Ichigo never really focused on his ninjutsu. He was more comfortable using his fists.

As his thoughts were drifting away it would take him some time to regain his senses. When he finally returned to the present time he spotted a large tree in front of him, one he was sure of that it wasn't there before. The only logical explanation he could think of was that the young Senju, who was close to the point of exhaustion, was responsible for creating the massive tree. So basically Ichigo had missed all of the training thanks to the fact that he started to reminisce about his own time at the Academy. He wouldn't let Ikari know that of course. What kind of teacher would he be if he didn't pay attention to his students?

"Well done Ikari, well done. As expected of the Senju." He would congratulate the young boy with his results but at the same time he would already have moved on to the next step of the training. "But, this is only the beginning. Now that you have both water and earth the next step would be ..?" He left the question open, requiring Ikari to finish the sentence.

Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK) Empty Re: Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK)

Sun Mar 15, 2020 1:45 am
Ikari mustered his strength the best he could. His excitement and adrenaline would fuel his body. While exhausted, he still felt ready to train, still ready to fight. He wanted to continue his growth, he knew no bounds at this point, all he wanted and all he needed was to ready himself for the Chuunin Exams. He knew there was going to be a lot of high level opponents there, at least he thought there was going to be. But he was unsure. He had been scouting for a while now, but several of the original combatants had actually been killed or died unexpectedly since then, so they actually ended up needing to do a reregistration.

So there were new members, including the once Jounin, Kaito. The one who had been challenged by the then Genin Zento. That was a man that Ikari could not help but to respect, he wanted nothing more than to train with that individual. Someone who was at such an early stage of the journey to still challenge a Jounin, then actually win!? That was the type of person that needed to lead a team. That was the type of person that would be able to turn good ninja, hell, even bad ninja, and turn them into the strongest on the continent.

That was going to be the next phase in his goal, but not the goal in an of itself. He wanted nothing more than to be able to become the strongest in the village, second to the Kage. But he also wanted to see the world and learn from all manners of people. He wanted to go visit Suna, the place that was allegedly full of criminals and missing ninjas, also being the home to one of the largest transplant organizations around. He had heard a lot of people speak poorly of those who obtain transplants to further their abilities and their strength. They say that it is something only cowards and criminals do, but Ikari couldn't disagree more. He wanted to get as powerful as possible, if that meant that he was going to need to trade his own organs for something to gain him even more power, so be it.

He would think about the words, the question that he was asked by Ichigo, his mentor for the time being. Was there anything else that he needed that Ichigo would be able to help Ikari with when it came to his training and his constant growth. There was only one thing that he could think of that would help him. "I can't think of anything other than to help me out with my reaction times and combat combinations. Would you mind accepting a challenge to a fist to fist fight? I feel like it is the best way to truly test yourself on the battlefield, no use of jutsu or really one's chakra, just a test of one's mind and to try to better yourself in the art of combat." He would look to Ichigo, excitedly awaiting the response from his mentor.

Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK) Empty Re: Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK)

Help out with his reaction time and combinations? Interesting. He didn't expect such a question would come from a Senju who specialised in Ninjutsu but the Drunk was pleasantly surprised. Kids these days seemed to have forgotten there was more to a shinobi's life than just massive jutsu that looked more like magic attacks. Even though chakra had become the most important thing it was key that the state and shape of your body wouldn't get neglected. Not that it would be Ichigo's place to talk since alcohol wasn't really great for the body, but still. People shouldn't forget about training their body.

He would walk over to where Ikari was standing, thinking how he would handle this. Ichigo was old school, his training regimen different than what most people were used to. If the teenage boy wanted to test his reflexes the Drunk knew the perfect exercise. He would now stand in front of the young Senju. "Put your arms behind your back and stand still. Remember not to move and watch closely." Ichigo would wait a moment until Ikari positioned himself as the Drunk requested. Once the teenager had gotten himself ready in the correct position Ichigo would prepare to demonstrate his exercise. "Pay attention, trust me."

With his left fist he would jab to the right of Ikari, followed by a right jab to his left. The young boy his hair would blow due to the force of Ichigo's punches. All of his jabs were aimed centimeters from his face so he wouldn't hit him. "Keep watching." The Drunk would pick up the tempo and his jabs would become faster. Left, left, right. Left, right, hook. All kinds of different combinations, one after the other. By now Ikari either began to wonder what was happening or he would figure out the point of all this. Ichigo would keep this up for a couple of minutes, repeating the series of punches. Never hitting the Senju once since that wasn't the purpose of the exercise.

The Drunk would then stop and lower his fists. "I hope you watched closely and memorized all the different combinations I have shown you.  I want you to close your eyes and visualise my movements from before. The only difference being that this time my punches will be aimed directly at your face with the purpose of hitting you." It would be an expirement on Ikari's mind muscle connection. If all went well the boy would be able to dodge every single punch, even with his eyes closed. "For every punch that hits, you'll give me twenty push ups. If you make it through without getting hit I'll treat you to ramen. Deal?"

Ichigo would then get into his stance as he brought his fists up, signaling the young Senju that the training would begin. "Three, two, one, go!" And with that he would throw the first punch, curious if Ikari would be able to complete the exercise without getting hit.

Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK) Empty Re: Water unto the Earth (Ikari, Ichigo, IO, NK)

Ikari asked Ichigo to a spar within the training grounds, something that he had asked plenty of people before, and plenty of challenges that he he proposed had been accepted. This time with Ichigo it was different. He instead asked Ikari to put his hands behind his back, which Ikari listened. Ichigo then go into a boxing style stance and he began to send flurries of combinations of punshes headed directly into his face. Ikari stood still as he waited for the either the punches to land, or to see what the point of this exercise was. While he wasn't entirely sure of Ichigo's methods, he was sure that Ichigo would help Ikari one way or another.

The combinations would stop milimeters from his face, but Ikari was doing his best to pay special attention to the combinations that were being sent towards Ikari's face. This was a common practice for him to partake in when he was participating in any type of combat. People generally had their own forms of combat, their own comfort levels, their own combinations. Ikari recognized the cobinations that were being thrown in his direction and waited there, staying still until the fists stopped being thrown.

When Ichigo was finished he mentioned the point of the exercise. "Ahhh an exercise of the mind, not so much of the body? Perfect." Ikari would say as Ichigo had a small break in his words. He then offered a challenge. If Ikari would be able to go through the same combinations with his eyes closed, and still manage to complete the exercise without getting hit, he would treat Ikari to some ramen. While Ikari had never had ramen before, he accepted the challenge gladly. He closed his eyes and he awaited for the countdown to begin.

Ichigo counted down and the moment he would say go. I kari would get into action. Dodging the left fist first, then the right jab. Knowing the combinations were going to pick up in their pace, he kept his mind steady and his body bobbing and weaving around the punches as they were thrown. Dodging the left, followed by another left, then a right. The left, then the right, then the hook. Every different combination that he had just thrown, being dodged by Ikari. Only to have a few of the strikes get close enough to have Ikari feel the wind being displaced by Ichigo's fist as they passed directly by Ikari's face.

Ikari had been counting every single swing thrown by Ichigo, and when he finally reached the end of the combinations Ikari would open his eyes to look at Ichigo. "I beleive that means you owe me dinner with ramen." Ikari would bring his arms toward the front of him. Ikari would laugh like he hadn't in a long time. He was thankful to Ichigo for teaching him the brilliance of Earth Release, for he had opened the door to Ikari learning his Wood release as well.

"I hope you're not that hungry since I'm not sure I brought enough money with me." Ichigo would laugh out loud, glad with how the training went. He wasn't sure if he would be able to pull off this whole teacher-student thing but luckily it turned out great.
