Getting Ready for Conflict
Sun Mar 22, 2020 3:57 pm
One! Two! Three!
Yoshimi was up early, well before the crack of dawn. The Water Garden training grounds at night were strangely peaceful and quiet. The chirp of some sort of insect, likely a cricket of some sort, could be heard in the distance as the young Manji clan soldier worked on his training routine. He would be seen doing various simple striking motions with what looked like a wooden sword, shifting his body weight over and over as he repositioned back to his ready stance for another strike. He would not allow himself a break until this exercise was complete and his body sore. This training was different than his normal flowing movements attributed to his Hyuuga lineage.
The Hyuuga could not stand idly by and let the others villages around Hoshi surpass them with ease, especially not with the sudden surge of criminal shinobi rising up here in only a tiny span of time. He would have to push himself harder than ever before in order to master his craft and allow his village to flourish. Sure, a single capable person was not likely to be enough to return the village to its former military might, but he would have to play his part just like everyone else. Yoshimi knows that it wouldn’t be long before there were assignments to bring back traitors to the village. This would be a perfect opportunity to bring honor to his clan and showcase what he was capable of at the same time.

Forty one! Forty two! Forty three!
Of course, the only way he could properly bring honor to himself and clan was if he did well and succeeded in bringing back those traitors. The only way he imagined that he would be able to do well is if he trained and worked hard, maybe even harder than all of those around him. While many of the village shinobi would be resting, quietly sleeping away perfect time to get training in before having to do their village duties, Yoshimi would use their complacency to pull ahead, making sure he was in peak fighting condition before the missions were assigned. If he lost to someone that fled, someone that held no honor… It would be like a slap to his face and a mark against his kin. A series of failures would mean that his clan would not be trusted with important tasks and would likely be looked down upon. This was something the young soldier would avoid at all costs. There was a certain amount of pride he held in regards to his status. He didn’t conspire to elevate through deception or politics, but he still wanted his clan to be known as some of the best soldiers in the Hoshi army and deserving of respect.
His wooden sword would whistle through the air at first, the speed behind the movements immense. Speed was of the utmost importance in close quarters combat, as if you aren’t fast enough to both defend yourself and push forward with your own offensive you won’t last very long against a skilled assailant. Speed kills.
