Should one leap into the magma?
Sat Mar 28, 2020 5:37 pm
Taichi walked up the volcano, feeling as the heat continued to get more and more intense. The thought of jumping into the volcano popped into his mind. He was still a good distance away, but the thought still entered into his mind. He took a few more steps before stopping to take a break, he knew that this was an interesting idea, but son of a bitch was it a hot one. He got closer to the summit and he could not believe just how hot the temperature would get the closer he would get to the top of the volcano.
“Would jumping into the magma be painful? Or would you die shortly before jumping in via a heart attack? Maybe it would hurt for all of a second before you heart would give out. Or maybe you would actually live long enough to drown in the magma.” The thoughts of a possible demise in the midst of magma continued to run through his mind as he continued up the path to the top of the volcano when he began thinking about the technique “Inner flame”.
Inner flame was a technique that allowed you to cause your chakra to heat your body internally. Allowing someone that would originally be in inhospitably cold environments, and be able to walk easy knowing that their body was being warmed by their very own chakra. He decided that he was going to try and create a technique with the same exact mechanic as Inner flame, but using his own water chakra, that way it would not just cool his own body during treks in hot climates, but it would actually go one step further, it would grant the body a better chance of regulating the inner temperature of the user’s body to a normal temperature.
He reached the peak, the opening in the top of the mighty mountain ran deep, the volcano he was standing on was taller than he had ever been before. That doesn’t exactly say much when considering the fact that the only places that he had been by that point was the stone in Fang, and the deserts of Suna. Not exactly your high reaching mountains in those areas. He looked out towards the seas as he stood there on the peak, contemplating the jump. Wondering just how hard the hit would be if he was to land in the magma that was deep beneath the crust of the Earth.
He could feel the heat flow from beneath, this was an active volcano alright. Taichi was just a little more than curious as to what exactly waited for him beneath the Earth’s crust, into the depths of the Earth, into the depth of his demise he sunk. He was stuck in the middle of his own decision, should he jump? End everything that he had been working towards to gain and finally end his wretched existence? Or should he step away from the ledge, and go back to his day to day life that he could not bear to be a part of any longer? The decisions weren’t exactly great, both led to his never ending misery.
Taichi leaned over the ledge, feeling the heat against his face once again. That was when he made his decision. He took a step away from the ledge and took in one deep big breath. Then he leaped over the edge and he began plummeting downwards, hundred of feet, getting closer to the heat source, to the point that he could even see it. The thoughts of his life flew through his mind, seeing as the magma would get closer and closer. He was happy for a moment, the feeling of free fall coursing through his body, and yet he still felt incomplete. He thought by killing himself, he would finally feel happy. He would finally feel the sensation of happiness, but he didn’t.
Taichi performed the hand seals required for the Wood Release: Cutting technique. Fully imbued with the nature stack that he would just gather. The branches would burst out of his sides and would grip into the sides of the hole that he was plummeting through, stopping his rapid descent. He finally stopped, only twenty meters or so from the magma that laid in wait. The branches would then, one by one reach a little farther up the hole and slowly crawl back out of the volcano.
Upon exiting the volcano, he saw that night had fallen. Taichi was a sweaty mess at this point, being exposed to such a high temperature from the magma that was almost his grave. He put his feet on the firm ground beneath him and he allowed a few tears to escape his eyes. He had the feeling of dread fill his body, realizing that nothing was ever going to rid himself of the agony that he felt on a day to day basis, nothing.
Taichi decided that it would be best for him to go into the village, and grab him something to drink. Maybe forget about his own existence for a while.

Sephora had just taken a shower at home. She currently lived with her twin and Megami. Yep the womb mates lived together! I'm sure you get the pun! I know, I know bad one but yet quite funny. Anyways. She was in a tank top and leather shorts and sandals. She was kind of young to drink but the barkeeper knew her parents when they were alive so permitted her and Dante to drink in moderation if they liked.
She entered the bar and ordered her favorite drink, Saki! Yes rice alcohol was her favorite and the way she felt right now, she could use some.

Taichi walked into the bar, it was a smaller joint, but it was a joint that had alcohol and that was all he cared about. He walked up to the bar and he politely asked the guy behind the counter for a bottle of whiskey. Luckily he had performed the transformation jutsu just before walking in, so he looked like what he would imagine he would look like when he was older (Tobirama as an adult). He sat at the bar and he waited for the bartender to hand him his bottle. While he waited, he would think about the volcano. He would think about just how close he got to the magma below, just how possible it would have been for him to have just died then and there with very little to show for his energy and years spent on his craft as a ninja. Very little meaning nothing except for a log cabin that he built in Fang country that no one would ever be able to get to.
The bartender walked up to Taichi and he handed him a bottle of whiskey, telling him the total. “Want your money up front, eh? I respect that. Here ya go.” Taichi uttered as he gave the man his money. Taichi then popped the top off of the bottle and he began to chug it down. Gulp after gulp his throat would begin to burn, not something he was unused to. He then leaned back in his chair slightly so he could take a look around the bar, just to see who he would be able to see within the establishment, maybe even find someone interesting to have as company, even if it was just for the night, or just for right now.

Sephora noticed a new guy in the bar. Not the same people who had been coming in. She walked over to him and decided to introduce herself. But first she called the bartender over.
“Don’t take his money, it’s on me, give him whatever he wants.” She said. Then she walked over to him and sat next to him.
“Hello, and who are you?” She asked him. “You look a little young to be hitting the bottles.” She said with a small smirk crossing her face. Of course she had to make the conversation interesting unlike some others here in Volcano Village. Some people are too quick to be nice and just smile and shake hands. Sephora, well she liked to make stuff interesting, even if it did get on someone's nerves occasionally.
“I have lived in this village a while now and never really seen you around here.” She added hoping the male would shed some light on where he was from and why he was here in the village. Not like she stopped him at the gates.

Taichi was waiting for the bartender to bring him his bottle when a woman walked up from behind him, telling the bartender that he was not in need of payment for anything he was drinking that night, for she was going to pay for it. Taichi looked over to the woman, surprised to hear such generosity from a complete stranger. "Thanks miss, I will accept that generosity." Taichi would barely be able to let out a kind tone to his voice. Taichi then turned his head back to facing the wall behind the bar.
The woman would mention his age, saying that she thought he was too young to be drinking the way that he was. Taichi tilted the bottle to his lips once again before acknowledging her comment. "Yeah, that's what I've been told. But lucky for me, money speaks a little louder than rules and policies. Now tell me, what brings you to this place anyway?" The woman would ask him a question as he was asking his. "I am Taichi, I am new to this village. The Kage has already allowed me here to stay." Taichi would reassure the woman that he was not here as a criminal, not anymore.
