Back at it Again, Team Summer?

It had been a couple of days since Tsubaki had seen Kiryu and Kuniko during their tea meeting. That day, Tsubaki was named the new leader of Team Summer. Now today was the day the group started their first training under her direction. She had sent letters to each of the member's household telling them to meet at the lake in the Wildlife Reserve.

The day was warm and cloudless. The fresh breeze blew over the lake surface and into the tree branches surrounding the area that were just started to form buds. The water rippled and built up small waves with each breeze. Animals in the reserve were starting to wake up and do their daily routine of survival. Squirrels scattered up and down tree trunks. Small birds chirped and surrounded the trees. A large bird flew above it all, looking for their breakfast. All was tranquil. 

Tsubaki was sitting on top of the water using her walking on water technique. She was wearing a bright blue four split dress robe that would spread out across the water surface and make her look like a flower riding the waves. She was meditating with her eyes closed and absorbing the sounds around her.

The day has just began for sakuragi. The white eyed was sitting on the roof of an old building surrounded short trees. He was doing nothing, just enjoying the atmosphere. He was able to see the Tsubaki from that distance. The senju wouldn't know unless she could somehow sense Sakuragi. 




It's been months since Sakuragi had anything to do with team summer. Perhaps his Conversation with the redhead Uzumaki was the reason why he would come back to team summer. It would appear the have a new sensei tho. Sakuragi had not yet know that Tsubaki is their new sensei.






The white eyed boy was sitting on the roof, he had been observing the young lady for quite some time, he watched as she closed her eyes. The hyuuga wasn't sure what she was doing. She was someone Sakuragi had met before , they met in the market square and the hyuuga even spared with her wood clone, he was lucky to beat the wood clone. He was suppose to meet with her and the rest of team summer. The boy wasn't sure it was the Right time to meet her yet, but he didn't want to keep her and the other members waiting. He would gaze into the sky before jumping down from the top of the building. The boy would then begin walking toward the river where the senju lady was sitting.






She still had her eyes closed, Sakuragi would not interrupt whatever she seems to be doing , he would stand about three meters away from her, waiting for her to come back from dreamland.

As Kiryu made his way down to Tekiatsu Lake, he went through one final check of his equipment. His kunai, shuriken, and smoke bombs were all accounted for and easily accessible. He didn’t want to be unprepared for the first get-together of the reinstated Team Summer.
 
It was a beautiful day to be outside. Clear skies and a nice cool breeze blowing in from across the lake. When he finally made his way to the shore of the lake, he spotted Tsubaki Senju, the leader of Team Summer, sitting on the water’s surface. It was a sight that he felt would always amaze him. The gods’ gift of chakra being used to embrace their creation in such a poetic way was beautiful to Kiryu. At a slight rustle, he glanced to his side and saw another shinobi walk from the treeline toward Tsubaki. He didn’t recognize the newcomer, so perhaps that meant he was to be the third Genin of their team.
 
Kiryu took a seat on the shore and simply awaited any sort of communication from either his leader or fellow members. As he waited, his mind drifted to thoughts of the future. He had never desired power before he became a shinobi. In fact, he had only become a shinobi in order to better serve the gods. Recently, however, he had become enraptured with training and learning new jutsu that allowed him to better connect to the chakra that flowed within him. He found himself looking forward to the new things that he might be taught by Tsubaki or by his fellow Genin during their time together and possibly even making new discoveries of his own during missions. Whatever the future brought, he was ready to embrace it and expand his own understanding, although for now he would need to simply focus on whatever the reason was that Tsubaki had summoned them here today.

"Glorious day! The sun is shining, birds are singing! What more could man want from such a bountiful earth?" Kuniko nodded to himself as he wrote down his own words on a notebook he carried. That could be a great opener for the design he had in mind. It was time to spread his love of aesthetics to the world. But first, shinobi business took priority. His mentor and squad leader had requested his presence, and he would answer. He was dressed in his signature purple hakama. No need for theatrics from a servant. 

It was not an overly long journey for Kuniko through the Tachibana Wildlife Reserve before he neared the lake. Slightly on edge from his previous super natural encounter, Kuniko activated his Byakugan while he was still a quarter mile from his destination. He scanned the area for several minutes, but only noticed Tsubaki, Kiryu, and ... Sakuragi? What joy, his teammate had returned! Kuniko quickened his pace and deactivated his Byakugan as he approached the lake at a light jog. 

When Kuniko reached the shore he saw Sakuragi and Kiryu by the shore watching Tsubaki, who was meditating. He approached behind them and proclaimed in his gentle voice, "Such elegance and grace! The wise Lady Tsubaki completes this picturesque landscape. And I would not believe if not for my own eyes, that you stand here among us, Sakuragi. It has been too long. Greetings, kinsman. How have you been?" Kuniko would then give a bow to Sakuragi and await his response, before giving a bow to Kiryu and finally Tsubaki, even if she still had not broken her meditation. In a hushed tone, Kuniko said to Kiryu, "this man here is a member of my clan, from a distant branch family. He is strong and fierce."

Tsubaki's senses were heightened as she had her eyes closed. Expanding her chakra, she was able to use it to sense for her students that were arriving shortly. She sensed Sakuragi's chakra close by towards the beginning, however, she wasn't sure who it was due to her not knowing his exact chakra signature. He was the first to arrive, scooping the place out. Kiryu, a chakra signature she recognized, was second to arrive. Both of them were waiting for her instructions at the shoreline. She didn't move, still waiting for the last member to arrive. 

"Such elegance and grace! The wise Lady Tsubaki completes this picturesque landscape." A voice came from beyond the shore behind the two others. She smiled at the compliment. It seemed that Kuniko knew the fellow Hyuuga as a kin of the same clan. "Welcome, you three. As always, such nice words from Kuniko." Tsubaki would finally say, opening her eyes but still seated. "It seems that you already know our third member, Kuniko. This is Sakuragi, hopefully, our third member of our team. I bet you're wondering what's in-store today." She smirks at the three of them. "You guys will be battling me on the lake. You three against me. It's a challenge of teamwork and prolonged chakra flow. You guys are good three-man team, in concept; Kuniko, the medic, Sakuragi, the taijutsu specialist and Kiryu as the ninjutsu user. The challenge will be over when someone steps out of lake boundaries or when one side is defeated. We'll go all out, everything you got. Expect some broken bones." The lake was 50 meters in diameter, so they had plenty of room to work with. Tsu stood up and weaved body flicker.  She flickered 30 meters from her original location, making her 40 meters from the shore. "And begin!" She didn't want to give much prep time for the three of them, hoping to see their quick adaption to sudden situations. However, she would let them have the first move.

Sakuragi did not know why he was summoned here by Lady Tsubaki, the boy remained still as the senju continued her meditation. The hyuuga's stillness would however be broken when he saw a figure he had never seen before,  his eyes were fixed on the boy who just walked into the shore  “Hello there, how are you” he said in a low tone.  Takeshi was a member of team Summer, the white eyed was expecting him to show up too. He always show up on time, it seems this time is different. Sakuragi had not spent time with his team for quite some months so he was not aware of anything about Takeshi and Kuniko.











Shortly after, Kuniko would approach the water shore, a warm smile appeared on Sakuragi's face. “Long time no see friend” he said in loud voice as the fellow hyuuga got close. Kuniko would greet him in a friendly manner, “ I'm doing good friend, we have a lot to talk about after this meeting, what happened to Takeshi? why is he not here yet and who's the new guy?“ he said in a soft tone awaiting his response.








Tsubaki would swing swiftly into action not even allowing  time for proper greetings ceremonies. Sakuragi has a lot to ask from Kuniko. The new team leader, lady Tsubaki would flicker 30 meters away from the three genins. It seem Tsubaki have answered one of Sakuragi's question about the new guy , he was now part of their team. But what about Takeshi ?








Only Sakuragi had battled Tsubaki before, he didn't have a chance to battle the real Tsubaki though. What he battled was a wood clone, but just because he beat that is no proof that he could beat the real Tsubaki. This was another glorious moment for Sakuragi,  Another moment for him to know how strong he has gotten.








He was standing in the middle of the two other genins facing Tsu who was 40 meters away. If the team leader had not made mention that the new guy specialized in  ninjutsu, he would be ignorant of that since this was the first that they meeting.






Sakuragi would activate his byakugan " Kuniko  you're a medical ninja, don't be too forward, Kiryu, support me" he said to the two genins as he pulled out a kunai with his left hand. “ you're ready? let's do this!" The hyuuga would charge at the Senju who was 40 meters away,  unless Tsu used a ninjutsu that requires Sakuragi to react to, the hyuuga would charge at her, once within range, he would pierce her chest with the kunai. Those who had duel with Sakuragi know that he could be very ruthless at times. This battle might be one of the ruthless moment of the spiky haired, as he finally had the chance to fight the real lady he  met at the market square, the very one who served him a cup of tea.

Kiryu took a moment and examined the unknown shinobi upon his greeting. His eyes were completely white, which meant he must be another member of the Hyuuga clan. Maybe he knew Kuniko then. ”I’m doing well,” he responded courteously, with a slight bow of his head. Before he could get into a real conversation, Kuniko appeared behind him with another of his poetic greetings. He couldn’t help but chuckle slightly at his overly dramatic comrade.
 
As he listened to Kuniko, however, he picked up on another thing he had said. So the other Genin’s name was Sakuragi. Clearly the two of them did indeed know each other. When he asked about Takeshi, Kiryu’s mood sunk, although it was quick to recover. He couldn’t dwell on Takeshi’s death forever, he had to accept it and move on. It’s what he would have wanted. ”It’s nice to meet you, Sakuragi. My name is Kiryu.” Tsubaki interjected before the three of them could actually get to know each other, and her words surprised Kiryu. They were going to fight her?
 
A jolt of excitement shot through Kiryu’s body. This was what he had been training for, after all. It was time to put it to the test. Three on one seemed like the odds were stacked in their favor, but he knew better than to underestimate a Chuunin like Tsubaki. Especially if she was strong enough to be their leader. He also hadn’t fought alongside either of his comrades before, which would hamper their teamwork.
 
As she flashed away, Kiryu ran through the knowledge that he had. Kuniko specialized in medical ninjutsu and Tsubaki had said that Sakuragi was a taijutsu specialist. That meant that either he or Sakuragi would have to be the main effort of their offense. He was sure Kuniko could handle himself in a fight, but as a medic he would most likely be better off staying out of direct combat. From what he knew about Tsubaki, he assumed she was probably a medical specialist as well since she had been Kuniko’s mentor. He didn’t know much about medical ninjutsu, unfortunately, so he couldn’t factor in what she was capable of into his plan.
 
Apparently, however, he wouldn’t have been able to do that anyway. Sakuragi rushed off heading straight for Tsubaki, calling out for Kiryu to back him up. Reckless, he grumbled internally as he took off running as well. His chakra was already flowing to his feet before he hit the water, allowing him to keep his balance on the lake’s surface. He was about 5 meters behind Sakuragi, which would hopefully give him enough time to react to any of Tsubaki’s counterattacks. As he ran, he formed the bird sign and aligned himself directly behind his comrade. If Tsubaki hadn’t moved by the time Sakuragi had closed within 3 meters of her, Kiryu would fire off a pair of air bullets on each side of Sakuragi in order to prevent her from dodging sideways.

Battle Tracker:

Woe, it seemed there was no time for pleasantries. Tusbaki and the team were jumping into action for a fight... Sakuragi was charging in towards, as was expected, while Kiryu seemed to be backing him up. Kuniko will begin running after them along the surface of the lake, staying at a distance of 7 meters behind Kiryu, and 12 meters behind Sakuragi. As soon as Sakuragi got within 3 meters of Tsubaki or if she began to move, Kuniko would stop running; leaving him 25 meters from the shore. 

Kuniko wasn't sure how this was going to turn out and was concerned it was going to get bloody. He activated his byakugan while he was running and took a defensive stance when he stopped running. Using his 360 degree vision, Kuniko would see if there were any surprises within 100 meters of his location. If Tsubaki was about to slip past his teammates, Kuniko was prepared to defend himself. If his teammates were injured he was prepared to heal them. The one thing Kuniko was not prepared for though was to attack Lady Tsubaki directly. 

Kuniko is running at his maximum speed, though he will slow down or stop to be 7 meters behind Kiryu. 

Battle Tracker:

As much as Tsubaki hated to admit it, she wasn't to her fullest potential yet. Her medical range was only contact range and her ninjutsu was mediocre at best with only a few range jutsu. The lake also added a level of difficulty because she wouldn't be able to use her earth style techniques and she wasn't about to use her S rank technique right off the bat. She wouldn't be surprised much if these genins could beat her. But this was less about her beating them but more about them realizing their potential. The potential she will have within her grasp. 

As soon as Sakuragi started moving in, the rest of the team followed single file. "Ah, going for a full out charge? Bring me what you got," Tsu taunted.  She began to weave hand signs after Kuniko started towards her. A ball of chakra began to form in her hand. She aimed the ball at Sakuragi, the one who was leading the charge against her. She would fire the ball when Sakuragi was 15 meters closer, Kiryu being 20 meters and Kuniko being 27 meters. The ball would hurdle towards the trio.

Since it was trained on Sakuragi, if it made contact, it would explode. If he moved from his original path, it would head towards Kiryu who was 5 meters behind him. If Kiryu moved from his original path, It would head towards Kuniko who was 7 meters behind him.

Battle Dets:

Sakuragi kept charging at the senju, he saw her weaving handseals. the whited eyed saw her chakra network changing as she began to weave the hand seals. He knew something was coming but he wouldn't stop charging. 






Just when the hyuuga was 15 meters away , the senju would fire a ball of mass at his direction. The boy would use his teeth to  hold the hilt of the kunai he was initially holding in his hand. This was something Sakuragi could have easily dodged from that distance, but what about his team mates? Maybe Kiryu could dodge, but what about Kuniko ?. The spiky haired wouldn't take the risk, he had to stop the fired ball so the three of them could keep charging at the senju.






Just when the fired  ball was 5 meters away from Tsu, the hyuuga who  would now   be 10 meters away from Tsubaki and 5 meters away from the fired ball would thrust both of his  palm forward shooting a wave of compressed chakra. Since the wave is stronger than the fired ball, it would crush it and without losing it power , it would raced towards Tsubaki. Tsubaki now have to defend herself.






Sakuragi still would not stop charging unless Tsu got knocked by the wave, he would pull the kunai from his teeth and charge at the senju , piercing her chest with the kunai.






Sakuragi had not seen the best of the Senju yet, was she fighting at her best or at her least?. The battle had just began and it is too early to decide that. Nevertheless, the hyuuga was glad he was able to defend against her attack.
