Drunken Men and Sassy Boys Don't Mix
Thu Apr 23, 2020 10:51 pm
Shin really shouldn't be at the bar, he's only 16, the boy thought to himself. But then again, these were trying times. Shin sat at the end of his stool. "I'll take the heaviest thing you got," He demanded the bartender. He was busy busting a table nearby to look the boy right away. The rest of the people in the bar was looking at Shin confused. It was probably because Shin was tall for his age but his long bright hair was strange and gave him a feminine look. Some of them chuckled, "Come on, you're not wide enough to even take something so brutal, little girl." "Yeah, go back to bed, it's your bedtime." Shin laughed light-heartedly but didn't engage. "Come on, I'll take the heaviest thing you got." He puts the money down to show he's serious.
Generally in Suna, people of any age can drink as long as they pay since there weren't any laws to enforce anymore regarding illegal drinking. So seeing Shin's age wasn't a problem, it was more his appearance as a bright hair feminine boy. Men, especially drunken men, didn't take to kindly to people that stood out too much. They were conservative about how the village worked because they still lived in the olden days in their mind. They thought boys should look like they did when they were kids and that women shouldn't drink. Sometimes they would get violent. But Shin was more capable of taking care of himself against these guys.
"You should head home, you're hair is blinding." "Is that a guy?" "What the hell is this guy doing here?" Shin ignored it for the moment. Suddenly, an extremely drunk man stubbled onto Shin's shoulder. "Hey, you looking for a fight? Didn't you *hick* hear what they said." Shin smiled at the man hanging on his shoulder and peeled him from his shoulder. "Yup. I just didn't care." This sparked some rage in the man, as disrespect wasn't taken lightly by these men. He would take a swing of his fist at Shin. But right before it could make contact, Shin would catch it with his palm. The man tried to pull out of his grip, but it was too tight. He suddenly was swung into the air and onto the other side of the stool. He was out cold from the impact against the floor. It seemed that this man was popular enough for the entire bar to stand in their seats, outraged. "Oh, so we are going to dance?" Shin would smirk in his seat, "This might be fun for once."
The next moment, a man flew out the door of the bar. He landed face down into the dirt outside the door. Shin had knocked the man with the sheer power of his punch. The other people in the bar looked at his body and then back at the Kaguya. Shin was just standing there, still in his battle stance, grinning from ear to ear. "Anyone else? I could go for quite a while."

In the dimmest corner of the bar, back to the wall with a table meant for two, sat the objectively beautiful yet haunting form of Mizuki Ohta - her index finger tapping slowly against the rim of her glass in time with her resting heart rate. She had been sat in this corner for several hours at this point, one of the first in for the day she had been able to watch the room fill with villagers as the day progressed. She was known well enough in the village - especially being seen spending most of her time in the company of the Kazekage himself - this granted her the ability to sit and continue to maintain a full glass; no matter how much she drank.
She wore tight fitted black clothing - plain in detail and covering almost her entire body minus her fingers and her face - her pitch black hair flowing around her shoulders and down her back in an unruly manner; like ruffled feathers. If she remained still enough she could go unnoticed but the paleness of her skin offset with the intense blend of crimson and lilac irises made her hard to forget… much like the brightly colored young man who was sat at the bar across the room - by his posture he was hovering between relaxed and poised to spring, sitting on the edge of the stool like he was. The discourse in the room raised significantly upon the newcomers arrival - shouts of heckling, insults, and even threats were hurled at his back - to which he ignored.
Interesting. She couldn’t help but perk up in interest as she watched one of the drunker lowlifes rise from his chair and stumble over to him - he gave him a chance by peeling him off his shoulder but there was no stopping liquid courage. She watched with rising interest as the drunkard swung to hit him across the face, only to be caught deftly mid swing only to be slammed into the floor in a swift knock out - followed by the ejection from the building of another man; tossed like a rock. The smallest of smirks formed on her lips before she raised her still half full glass to her lips and downed it easily before tossing the empty glass over her shoulder - the shattering glass bringing the attention of every patron in the bar to her.
She stood, eyes focused solely on the boy who was grinning wildly from the high of power he was surely experiencing - her footsteps sounded like gunshots in the near silent room, the only other sound being the scraping of chairs and shuffling of feet as men moved out of her way. Though she stood at a shorter height than the others and was very clearly smaller in stature overall she was not to be messed with, and these men knew it. She made her way to the boy, eyes unmoving from his own, only stopping when there was but a few feet separating them. Raising her left hand she made her index, middle, and thumb stick up alone before finally speaking, “A bottle aged Sake and two glasses. Now.” Though her blazing eyes never left his face the bartender had what she requested set up on the bar ready for them in moments.
Finally dropping her gaze to the man he had knocked out first she shook her head, nonplussed, before grabbing the back of his collar and dragging him away from the stool, dropping him carelessly out of the seat she was now occupying. Without turning to him she spoke once more, “The heaviest thing we got.”, and gestured for him to take his previous seat.

A glass breaking across the floor shut the bar up. Shin quickly turned towards the corner of the bar, still grinning thinking it was another challenger. It was an older woman who bore long black hair that flowed with her movements. She wore a black fitting outfit that only outlined her pale skin. Her eyes, which were a shining purple, was the most colourful thing on her figure. Shin noted to himself that a brighter outfit would compliment her complication and black hair.
The glass shattering commanded attention from all the men in the bar. She would make her way across the silent room with unmoving eyes. He heels echoed from the wooden walls and the glass cracked under the pressure of her heel. Shin would relax his shoulders and stare back at her, watching her close the distance. He didn't get the sense of intimidation from her, rather she seemed impressed with Shin's display. His smile remained a one with pride.
She would stand mere meters apart from the Kaguya, continuing to stare into the boy's prideful soul. Then, she would raise her hand, calling the attention of the bartender. “A bottle-aged Sake and two glasses. Now.” Shin chuckled, loving her demands. She would finally remove her gaze and turned to the seats that he was previously at, removing the unconscious body from the seat. "The heaviest thing you got." Shin jumped into the seat as she motioned for him to join her.
Shin would look a the dark figure and continue smiling. "Wow, you really know how to get the guys attention," he teased her, chuckling as he looked back at all the men who were quietly returning to their conversations. "Although, I could've taken one all the guys in this room," he fakes being cocky for a cheap laugh, leaning his head back into his hands. "Oh! I'm Shin Kenshin, by the way." He introduced himself, leaning forward again.
