What a Happy Couple [Mission]
Fri Aug 07, 2020 7:11 pm
Mission Link
Jamie was spending a fair bit of time in Loliet. The people she had met had wanted to get some things done, including finding their third, before they all headed off to Jamie’s home. In the meantime, Jamie had suggested they all hang out in Loliet. Or well, that was where she was waiting. They were off doing their own thing sometimes, and other times they were around. And at least twice now she had randomly run into them. But that was besides the point. This time, she had been hired to transport some chest of stuff. Was not told what was in the chest, but it was a fancy looking chest. If not for the weight, she could have totally seen it being empty. She was told someone else would be coming along from a distance, maybe multiple someones, but it was whatever.
Truth be told, this chest was fancy enough that it could be made of some thick wood. There was gold inlaid into it, and gemstones embedded in the gold. Maybe it was empty, and the chest was the entire gift.
Either way, it was currently wrapped in cloth, and she was carrying it by wrapping further cloth around it so she could strap it to her back. While the straps were tied up, she held onto it just to be safe. That was the best way to prevent the thing from falling and risking breaking it and/or spilling the contents out. Frankly, nothing happened on the shortish trip to the other town, where she dropped the gift off to the expectant family, wondering the whole time who had been hired to be the stealth escort, as the client had called them. Maybe Jamie knew them? It would be hilarious if it was one of those two.

Task: You find yourself in a small town in the middle of nowhere, not large enough to be even a blip on the radar of any of the major villages or anyone of note. The townsfolk are naturally distrusting of outsiders and as such have been nothing but cold to you since your arrival. A large wedding seems to be happening in a neighboring town, and you have been hired to deliver the dowry. Of course, it's up to you whether or not you follow these instructions. Do you keep it for yourself? Deliver it on time? Or simply slaughter everyone you meet for 500 words like the murder hobo you are? The choice, and the consequences, are yours.

Life on the missing-ninja front was rather peaceful, Ryal and his guys hadn't run into any other rogue groups or village ninja. Aside from Jamie they hadn't had much interaction with anyone other than locals. Today Ryal had signed up to help some of those nameless faces in a simple transport mission. One person would be doing the actual delivery while he was hired to guard them from the shadows. Simple shit that had no way of going wrong although the Shinkou was curious as to why they needed "professional" help for a single item especially when they arrived at a wedding. Coincidently when the blue haired male showed up at the location specified for pick-up it was Jamie who would be accepting a very fancy chest. That alone looked like it cost a pretty penny, he could only imagine what could be inside. He wouldn't have anyone to bounce his guesses off of for now as the tall male simply nodded to crafter of the box once Jamie had begun to leave.
He doubted that the crafter even knew another person had been assigned to guard this treasure but the friendly gesture should at least keep the man from worrying about Ryal attacking the woman. On the short trip to the next town over the golden eyed god merely looked like any other traveler stretching their legs. No one seemed to care that Jamie had a rather large something strapped to her back which was good for them though a bit unsettling. Regardless the woman delivered the chest and received her payment, Ryal waited around a bit to see what was inside. Regular wedding stuff so no value to him though when receiving his own payment the marauder swiped a small sack of coins from the box. People who shelled out thousands for something that will quickly begin collecting dust wouldn't miss a couple hundred in change.

Claiming: 12 ap; mission rewards; words to Chakra Suppression
